Comments:1310 - Dr. Moseman is a very kind man, and I'm glad I got to have him as my teacher...however, his class is HARD. He is the only teacher who has an SI that tells you anything. He assigns extensive readings that sometimes take 2 hours to complete and a quiz afterward. The good thing is that he does drop some of your quiz grades, which is nice. Talking to some of my friends who had different teachers were very confused about what we were learning. I felt like he was the only teacher that was teaching additional material. He also made us print out over 100 pages of reading. There is a lot to love about the man, and he is very kind. His class is just challenging. A positive about him is the final is only over the gospel readings you do at the end of the semester, which was nice, but a required college class should not be as challenging as he was.  - Grade In Class:C+

Comments:REL 1310 - I am not religious, but did grow up in a religious family, and I really enjoyed his perspective on the Bible. He relates a lot of it to life and relatable experiences, which also helps a lot for understanding the text. However, that being said, his class is HARD. You're expected to read a plethora of handouts (in addition to Scripture) and even watch some videos for the later exams. His quizzes, while open-note, are so incredibly detail-oriented that notes sometimes don't make a difference, and his exams are also detail-oriented and long. He does drop 4-5 quizzes, which is nice, and he clearly cares about his students.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:REL 1350 - This class is way too hard for a required course by the university. The tests are so nit-picky about every detail in the bible and as someone who didn't take scripture classes in high school, this class was insanely hard. Don't get me wrong, he is a great professor, BUT the work load is intense and getting every detail in the bible is very difficult. He does have an SI and it can be helpful at times, but even by going to every session I still only got a 66 on the test. If you absolutely love being challenged and love spending hours reading each night then I highly recommend but other wise there are so many better professors to take this class or take it at MCC.  - Grade In Class:C

Comments:1310 - I LOVE HIS CLASS SO MUCH! HE IS AMAZING! I am not Christian so this class was a lot harder for me, and at first, I hated the class because of the workload (becuase i didn't expect a required class to be so hard) but I love the class so much! I have learned to love God even more and am so happy with who I am. No one in his class is on their phone/laptop because his lectures are so interesting and so engaging. His exams are basically memorizing stuff (not difficult if you pay attention during class and do the SI exam review). He expects for all students to know the reading he assigns almost perfectly before class. He will call on people during class, but nothing scary because no one really knows anyway. If you want to know more about God, whether you are Christain or not, I highly recommend you take his class.  - Grade In Class:B+

Comments:REL 1310 - I LOVE DR. MOSEMAN. He truly is one of the best professors at Baylor. He cares for his students and is a wonderful and engaging professor. You truly are lucky if you have him. The class was based mostly on quizzes, and I am not going to lie, they were difficult, but if you keep up with the reading and engage in class, you will do AMAZING.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:REL 1310 - Dr. Moseman is an incredible professor, but he expects a lot from his students. This class was surprisingly very enjoyable for me, but it definitely pushed me to increase my work ethic. There was a lot of reading to be done and he randomly will call on you in class to say what happened, so you really want to make sure you know what you are talking about. If you do not have previous knowledge of the Bible or theology, this class will be more difficult for you, so keep that in mind. He is incredibly passionate about the subject and wants everyone else to feel that passion and he does a fantastic job of that. Now, don't get me wrong, as much as I loved the class and Dr. Moseman, I have to acknowledge that this was not an easy class. I studied harder for these exams than I did for anything in high school. He requires that you know every single detail in order to do well. There are many easier options for professors for Christian Scriptures, so if that's all you're looking for, Moseman isn't for you. But if you want a professor that you will learn to love and who can inspire a deeper passion for the Bible within you and who will teach you SO much, than I can't recommend him enough. Proceed with caution though, because my friends and I have a running joke that whoever takes Moseman ends up with a minor version of Stockholm syndrome. We know he's not good for us (suffering sleep habits and GPAs) but we keep coming back to him because we've learned to love him.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1350 - Best professor I have had at Baylor so far! Moseman is an incredible teacher! It is so clear that he cares about his students and he is extremely helpful and makes himself available. He enjoys getting lunch with students! He also does a tremendous job of teaching the history of Christian Heritage while applying the content to our lives today. There are 1-2 reading quizzes every week with normally 10-20 minutes of reading per quiz. The tests are all multiple choice, and while his tests are more difficult than tests for the average Heritage class at Baylor, they are certainly manageable if you study the slideshows. Slightly more difficult tests are completely worth taking Moseman.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:REL 1310 - Dr. Moseman was an amazing professor for Christian Scriptures. He goes over the material in class with interesting and engaging presentations. However, the one challenge was the intense amount of outside reading required. Since the class covers a wide range of scripture, he cannot cover all of it in class and you will be required to read the rest outside of class time. The tests can be difficult at first, but I recommend going to SI at least for the test reviews; they helped me tons when prepping for the exams.  - Grade In Class:B+

Date: 2023-03-31

Comments:REL 1310 - Dr. Moseman takes the class very seriously. If you have no familiarity with the Bible or Christianity, do not take! If you love the Bible and are inclined to the academic discipline of biblical studies, this is the man for you. If you want an easy A, do not take! If you want a loving, caring, passionate professor who often reminds you of a classic southern baptist, this is the man for you. Exam grade averages for the class ranged from 75-80 for every exam, including the 100-question final. Exams are long and difficult, asking excruciatingly detailed questions. If you want to succeed, attend SI. Homework is minimal compared to exam prep. In a semester where I took 17 credit hours, this was my second most challenging class! And I consider myself a part-time biblical studies enthusiast. His doctrine is solid compared to Baylor professors, and his insights into the minor prophets and latter parts of the Pentateuch are erudite and occasionally profound. Love the man, his class is not for everyone.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2023-01-16

Comments:1310 - Don't take his class. I'm surprised there are so many positive reviews on here. He is extremely strict (literally treats you like children) and gives a HUGE workload. He randomly calls on people off of the seating chart and it's very hard to remember all of the readings when he asks you a question. I dropped and will be taking it with another professor.  - Grade In Class:DROP

Comments:1350 - Just a helpful heads up, if you look around AT ALL during exams on lockdown browser he'll fail you for cheating. I didn't cheat, went to the honor council and got the class dropped and retook it with a different professor. Course wasn't too hard. There was no warning that my behaviour was suspicious, just an email 2/3 through a 3 week summer course that I'd be failed because I didn't keep my eyes on the screen. What kind of professor alleges to care about his students then fails one with no warning? I read he was super nice and even heard that from other professors and that's why I took him, but screw that. 0/10 do not recommend.   - Grade In Class:F

Comments:Dr. Moseman is a one of a kind professor. He is an excellent teacher and explains things clearly and has been willing to sit with me and explain things again if they're not making sense. He kind, witty, and so intentional with his students. He makes sure to learn everyone's names and gets to know each student individually. I was having a tough semester personally and Dr. Moseman offered me grace and encouragement, which meant so much to me. He does expect a lot of his students, so if you're looking for an easy A course where you don't have to do much, I don't recommend. But if you're interested in really understanding the material in depth, take his class! He's always willing to help students and really wants to meet them where they're at. He facilitates discussions well and offers so much spiritual wisdom. His course has been one of the most influential for my faith during my time at Baylor!

Comments:REL 1350 - Unhelpful and includes a MASSIVE workload. I saw other ratings and thought this was going to be the best religion teacher but I will honestly say I was wrong. I have never had a problem with any other teacher here at Baylor but he does not teach nor does he care for the students and the workload is insane. If you are taking 15 or more credits stay away from this classwork. There are a total of 8 tests, 28 quizzes during the class, and about 30 pages of reading (every day not for each class so 150 pages a week). He gives powerpoints that briefly reinstate what you had read the days before but these don't help for the quizzes or tests. I have seen many students say the tests and quizzes are worded tricky and I would agree. He gives you one minutes per question so 20 questions test you get 20 minutes. I had to work overtime and almost too hard to scratch out my grade in this class. (Some of my class quiz averages were, quiz 1: 76%, quiz 2: 81%, quiz 3: 72%).  - Grade In Class:B+

Date: 2022-07-14

Comments:Scriptures - Dr. Moseman is a great, kind professor, but this class was quite literally my hardest of the semester. The questions on exams are so specific that I wouldn't know the answers even after studying for HOURS. SI is super helpful though, otherwise I would have absolutely NO idea what to expect. To get an A it felt like you nearly had to memorize the whole Bible.  - Grade In Class:B+

Date: 2022-04-13

Comments:1350 - Dr. Moseman is the best! He wants his students to succeed and he is the best. There's a good amount of work and you really need to study for his tests but you get the most out of the class.  - Grade In Class:B+

Comments:1350 - This course requires too much time for being a class we're forced to take haha. Don't get me wrong, I have enjoyed *some* of the readings but it can get repetitive. Almost feels like I'm reading the same story over and over but with *slightly* different names each time. He is passionate about this course which is great, I just wanna give people a heads up that it's not an easy class, unless you have an amazing memory. I wish we weren't just graded on quizzes and tests but maybe a few worksheets, papers, or even presentations. I guess I'm just the small percentage of people that don't thrive in a learning style of just tests. I think I'm just put off that it's so time-consuming for being a course we're forced to take. I really do enjoy learning about history but unfortunately the outline of this course (and many others in general) doesn't make it an enjoyable process. In a perfect world, learning would be more about enjoyment than stressful moments of captivating memory for a test or quiz, which some of us will just end up second-guessing ourselves anyway, even after studying for HOURS(story of my life lol). He does drop 2 tests and a handful of quizzes. There are just so many people, details, and dates you have to memorize, and some of them aren't mentioned in the lectures after the reading, which makes it difficult to know if certain details are vital for remembering. Sadly, yuh girl (and 90% of the population) doesn't have a photographic memory. Okkkk rant over. I do want to reiterate that he is passionate about this course, which makes his lectures more pleasant to listen to. I also loved that his testimony fit into one of our lessons so well, it was very enjoyable to read!  - Grade In Class:C+

Comments:REL 1310 - Dr. Moseman is one of the most amazing men I have ever met. I have to admit at the beginning of the year I was slightly off-put by the EXTREMELY corny dad jokes and the pretty difficult workload. However, the only reason he gives a big workload is that that's how much he cares about his students and he loves scripture and just wants everyone to read the good word. I took his class with an SI which helped a lot with study guides and stuff but the work is very manageable on your own if you work hard. On the last day of class, he told us all how much he wished we could have spent more time together without the masks and he just hoped we all felt some impact from what he taught. I am taking him for Heritage, highly recommend!  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1310 - if you can, TAKE DR MOSEMAN!!!! he is the sweetest man, incredible at his job, and his class was so much fun. It is a pretty heavy workload, but in my opinion, having a professor that cares about his students so much is worth it. I enjoyed doing the work because it was super interesting and made me grow in my faith as well. You have readings before each class and a quiz on them due before each class and 6 tests which are super easy if you study class notes and handouts. I learned so much AND enjoyed it the whole time. :) my favorite professor!!  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:REL 1310 - Dr. Moseman is by far the best professor I've had thus far. He deeply cares about all of his students and wants to see everyone succeed. He's found the right place to teach Religion because he's incredibly passionate about it to the point where it's quite infectious to other people, he absolutely deepened my faith. He doesn't assign a great deal of reading but be prepared to know the assigned readings like the back of your hand as the quizzes and tests can definitely include in-depth questions. I highly recommend going to every SI session as it will help your understanding of the material expotentially. You will be given a general guideline of questions to expect on each one of his tests. The tests themselves aren't too difficult, very easy to pass but you'll have to be pretty educated in the material if you wish to make an A on them. All tests were purely multiple choice. Overall, I recommend Dr.Moseman as he's one of those professors who you'll remember forever. (In a good way.)  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1310 - Dr. Moseman is my favorite professor. He really cares about your success and he is passionate about what he does. His lectures are always interesting and never boring. His classes are always open for discussion, which I enjoyed because I was never afraid to ask questions. He will learn your name and will always ask about your day. He assigns readings for each class which isn't that bad, but you have to take notes and an "open note" quiz BEFORE class. He only assigns readings from the Bible and a couple of handouts. The open note quizzes are easy and the most I missed were 3 questions. He drops 3 of your lowest quiz grades and an extra one if you do the course evaluation at the end of the semester. We had an exam about every 2-3ish weeks, which is better because it covered less information to study. The exams are multiple choice and matching. He only tests on what he talks about in class. So it is necessary to attend/watch every lecture. Some questions will be like, "What does Dr. Moseman think about...," so basically you should pay attention to his lectures. His exams are manageable if you go to SI sessions. I got an A on every one of his exams. The only reason I got an A in this class was because the SI really prepares you for his exams. The exams were online so it told you your score right away. The final exam was NOT cumulative over the whole semester. The final exam only covered the new testament. I'm not sure if it's because of covid or not, but he also dropped our lowest exam score. I really recommend taking his class. If your are a hard worker, there is no doubt you'll get an A. It definitely was my favorite class this semester. However, it did require a lot more work than my other classes, but don't let that scare you. If you are passionate about deepening your faith and learning about the bible, take his class. I will definitely be taking him again for Christian Heritage.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2020-12-08

Comments:1310 - Dr. Moseman is so precious. Although he is definitely one of the harder Scriptures professors, he equips you to gain more knowledge and understanding of the Bible and challenges you to live out what you believe and think about why you believe what you believe. Honestly, he helped me become more knowledgeable about the Bible which ultimately lead to me becoming stronger in my faith in Jesus. This class was very difficult and requires lots of reading, but if you pay attention in class, reading the assigned reading, take good notes, and attend SI, you will be just fine! Even though he is one of the more difficult Scriptures professors, I would still take his again if I had to!  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1310 - THIS CLASS TAKES A LOT OF TIME AND WORK. taking scriptures with moseman is one of the harder scripture classes for sure. lots of reading and quizzes and his exams require hours of studying to do well. compared to other scriptures classes, this one is so much more difficult but I did learn so much. with that, dr. moseman is an incredible man and one of my favorite professors at baylor. he knew all of our names within the first week and really makes you feel like you are valued as a person. he is very knowledgable and is a great teacher. I took him because a friend recommended him to me--if you are passionate about learning religion and being in the Word and want a phenomenal professor take Dr. Moseman...but if you want a lighter workload I would suggest a different professor :)  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2020-12-02

Comments:1350 - Moseman might be MY FAVORITE PROFESSOR from my entire academic career. The class wasn't just an easy fly-by-the-seat-of-your-pants-A, but he's incredibly passionate about faith, the content he teaches and delivers TOP NOTCH 10/10 DAD JOKES along the way. He's a phenomenial person who aims to grow your personal faith and is willing to work through tough theological questions and arguments with grace. There is a quiz due before each class over one or a few selcted readings, but he'll drop some of the lowest quizzes (three I think?) at semester end. HIS TESTS ARE HARD, so learn how to study and make note of important dates. He follows a powerpoint and you can even print out a fill in the blank version. Focus on important figures, what they wrote, and the big picture. It's basically a Jesus kid history class. We didn't have an SI so class was a little more challenging than normal, but in my personal opinion this class is so WORTH THE WORK YOU HAVE TO PUT IN. I have massive respect for him, and most if not all, students love him to death.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:Heritage 1350 - Dr. Moseman is an absolute beauty. The class though is a beast, requires a lot of time and energy. That being said though, Dr. Moseman is probably my favorite professor I've taken. The man had our class's names memorized in the first two days of class, seems kinda minor but, it showed me how much he cared.  - Grade In Class:B

Date: 2020-04-18

Comments:1310 - Sweetest man ever! Such a passionate teacher and a friendly guy. Really can tell he loves the material. Quizzes are easy if you read the assigned material and tests are more difficult but manageable if you study.  - Grade In Class:B

Comments:1310 - Dr. Moseman is by far my favorite professor ever. He is incredibly interesting and makes a point to know every student by name and connect with them and get them involved. There is quite a bit of reading and lots of quizzes but he drops a few of them. Tests are easy if you take good notes and study. The exam material is strictly from in class lectures and what is on his handouts so study those. Definitely recommend him.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2019-12-13

Comments:REL 1310 - Taking scriptures will not mean getting an easy A, but it will mean participating in a life-changing class, with a professor who truly cares. Dr. Moseman's love of his subject and love of his students shows in every word he says and in his actions. He is an absolute gem, who will stop at nothing to make sure you are doing well in his course. I came to Baylor (for one reason) to find my faith again, and Dr. Moseman played a big part in helping me. He is one of those precious people who truly gives you so much inspiration and makes you look forward to the challenges in the day ahead. A non-stop optimist, this professor is by far my favorite from my first semester! I would recommend getting to know him early on, maybe inviting him to dinner or something.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2018-12-11

Comments:REL 1310 - Dr. Moseman is an excellent professor and an even better person. His knowledge of the bible and his love for the Lord are very apparent in the course. He knows all of his students personally and encourages them to form relationships with each other which was very refreshing, especially since the course is mainly freshmen who haven't found their footing yet. I went in thinking that this course was going to be a blow off class, but it was not. With that being said, I looked forward to his class. His lectures are very interesting and he values class participation so don't be afraid to answer his questions. There was a decent amount of homework, and he assigns online quizzes over the readings so make sure to take those because they are real grade boosters. His exams are challenging but if you pay attention in class and take good notes over readings it's not hard to earn an A. Also, always print his online handouts because they are essentially outlines for his lectures and have a lot of material that is usually on the exam. All in all, I would highly recommend taking Dr. Moseman for scriptures, you won't regret it.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2018-12-10

Comments:REL 1310 - Great professor, truly in love with Jesus and the scriptures. You have to pay really close attention to the reading to score well on the online quizzes, but after the first one you'll know what to look for. He loves his students and really makes the effort to learn all of your names. Class is never boring, but you do have to pay attention during his lectures and REALLY read the handouts to score well on his exams! Go to the SI\'s!!!! SUCH a great guy, amazing person and loves the Lord- just be prepared for a lot of studying!  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2019-01-01

Comments:HEB 2320 - Fantastic teacher, great man but his expectations are far too high. If you are looking for someone to teach Hebrew for one year, definitely take Kennedy if you can. Do not take second year Hebrew unless you a) have Moseman for first year or b) made 90+ in first year. This class will stretch you to the limits and cause you to rethink whether or not it is worth it to take the language. That being said, Dr. Moseman is one of the best professors at Baylor and he does drop 3 quizzes and that really does help. His exams are EXTREMELY hard. Plan to spend at least five days in advance studying for them, and do NOT stay up late the night before. All in all, great professor but a very difficult class.  - Grade In Class:C

Date: 2018-05-07

Comments:1310 - Okay, so I got an A in the class, but that was because 1) he adds two points at the end of the semester if you haven't missed a class, and 2) he drops about three quiz grades. I also worked my butt off, and after hours of studying and going to SI's, I was proud of the high B's I would make on his tests. HIS TESTS ARE HARD. He's the sweetest guy in the world and will learn everyone's names by the second class but HIS TESTS ARE HARD.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2018-04-24

Comments:Hebrew - Moseman is by far one of my favorite professors. He cares about his students so very deeply. However, he expects a lot from his students. If you want to learn Hebrew take this class. Expect to do at least 5-10 hours a week. Especially in first year Hebrew. If you don't learn the material in first year DO NOT take second year, it just gets harder. Hebrew is such a fun language but it is extremely hard and requires a lot of work. He is truly so great and cares that you understand the meaning of the text and not just the Hebrew. He wants you to know how Hebrew effects the texts and your understanding of the bible as a whole. He is an amazing professor!!  - Grade In Class:B

Date: 2018-03-23

Comments:1310 - Great professor! He is pretty entertaining. No, its not a complete blowoff course. But its not hard. It requires memorization, but I am relatively good at that. Many people failed the tests, but that's because they expected the tests to be like sunday school class, where the answer is always "JESUS". The tests are pretty much exactly what is on his handouts, and maybe a little over what he says in class. I recommend going to his SI. EXTREMELY HELPFUL. I got all A's on every test except the final. The quizzes were a little difficult because you had to read a good amount and the questions were a little specific, but they don't kill your grade unless you fail all of them. He is the sweetest man you'll ever meet and recognizes hard work. He knows all of his students by name.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2017-12-16

Comments:1350 - Amazing professor! He's so kind and really made me feel cared about in his class. Here's the thing, his Christian Heritage class is way harder than most of the others, and you will have to put a LOT of effort into it. However, I thought it was super interesting and my friends who were in other classes barely learned any of the stuff I did. The first two tests were rough and I was struggling to get a B. I think it was the 3rd test, he let us bring a half sheet of notes to use on the test and this saved my grade! He also gives a significant amount of extra credit if you attend every class, so don't give up if you start out rough. Go to SI for this class, it helped a ton. Take Dr. Moseman, work hard, and feel encouraged. It is SO worth the effort to hear his lectures, he is seriously such a smart guy and such a strong man of God.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2017-12-14

Comments:REL 1310 - The workload for this class was a lot compared to other scriptures classes, but I learned so much and Dr. Moseman is one of the best professors I have ever had. He genuinely cares about not only what he is teaching, but also about every individual student in his class. I put in a lot of work, and ended with a B+ but I do think that every test and quiz is fair, you just have to know every detail of what is on the notes. It might seem overwhelming at first, but as the class goes on you learn how to study for his tests and it gets less overwhelming! I recommend taking him if you want a very kind professor and don't mind putting in work in order to do well.  - Grade In Class:B+

Comments:REL 1305 & 1310 - I don't even go to Baylor anymore, but Dr. Moseman's class is what made my year at Baylor worth it. He transformed the way I look at Religion. Take his class, and you'll understand why Baylor makes this a degree requirement, you'll know the history of your faith like the back of your hand, and you'll be able to explain the faith to others. There's a lot of reading and quizzes, but it gives you the opportunity to bring your grade up if your don't do well on the tests. His tests were hard multiple choice and true/false questions, but anyone who goes to SI will do well on the test. Go to class and pay attention, which isn't difficult because the course in itself is very interesting, and he motivates you by rewarding 2% to the students with perfect attendance. TAKE THIS COURSE! He cares about each one of his students, and takes the time to learn your name and get to know you. Moseman changes lives y'all.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1310 - If I could give anybody advice about how to have a great start at Baylor... I would say take Dr. Moesman!!! This was by far my favorite class this semester! The only reason he has a poor rating here on BU Books is because people are annoyed that they have to work hard in a university required class. Yes, this class isn't a walk in the park. But honestly, so are a lot of the other Scriptures professors and although you have to study really hard to fully understand all of the material, you know that he isn't going to throw any curveballs at you like other professors do. Plus... why do we come to Baylor to learn if we don't want to be challenged? His tests aren't bad if you study really hard for them and know the material inside out because you'll learn how to take them, but the online quizzes are pretty hard. GO TO SI. Annie is the best and so super helpful, being repetitious with the material is the only way to succeed. Also listen and take good notes in class! Above all else I learned so much about myself and my faith in this class and feel really changed because Dr. Moseman is truly one of the most amazing and down to earth men I've ever met in my life.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2016-12-16

Comments:1310 - Dr. Moseman's class is hard, but completely worth it. He is so passionate about the material he teaches. We read less than some other classes, but go more in depth. Tests are mostly from the handouts - they're all multiple choice and the final isn't cumulative. The open note quizzes are fairly challenging - you need to take very detailed notes. Luckily, he ends up dropping a handful of them. He also adds 2% to your grade if you don't miss any classes. His lectures are interesting, you shouldn't want to miss anyway. You'll learn a ton and have a good time so take him.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1310 - Dr. Moseman is the most intentional, passionate, caring professor I have ever come across at Baylor University. His workload is tough- which is why he has an SI! Go to his SI- it is SO helpful! Honestly, take him no matter what! I have learned more about the Bible in a semester in his class than I did in all four years of Bible classes in high school. When he reads through the story of the crucifixion, he starts crying every time. The Bible is so real to him, and he is so passionate about it! I wouldn't change my experience for the world! It is so worth it!  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:REL 1310 - tl;dr challenging but worthwhile. Dr. Moseman is a wonderful, albeit difficult teacher. You will learn in this class. Dr. Moseman pours his heart and soul into his class. He takes the time to learn every single student on a personal level, and knows everyone in the class by name. His lectures are interesting and well thought through, and each time you leave class you are all the wiser for it. This is a challenging course, but the work is clearly laid out and with effort anyone can succeed. Would recommend highly for scriptures, would possibly avoid for Heritage as difficulty starts to become all consuming.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:REL 1350 - Dr. Moseman is without a doubt one of the most caring professors at Baylor. He is also one of the best at teaching this subject. There are plenty of reviews to verify that, but what most of us are concerned about is how easy the class is. Moseman's class is not a joke. You have reading almost everyday and quizzes that vary in difficulty. What really matters are the tests. His tests are difficult and literally anything in lecture is fair game. If you can have a friend pick up your class notes and ask you any detail on them and you will know all of them you're ready, if not you need to study more. This class took the majority of my time to prepare for and as a university requirement I'm not sure if that's how it should be. Overall Moseman's class definitely is not impossible to get an A in, but it comes down to how much time you are willing to spend. If you don't have an interest in Religion and have your sights on a prestigious grad school that will require a near perfect GPA then this class might not be the best fit. That being said if you can afford to spend a lot of time on a class, I do recommend this class because it is interesting and engaging. Good Luck!  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1350 - Ive only been here for 2 semesters, but he is far and away the nicest, and best professor I've had! He knows and has a personal relationship with almost everyone in the 60+ student class! He is readily available and will have conversations about anything! This man is what I'd like to model myself after when I grow up, and thats not a sappy joke! TAKE HIM, you lose if you don't!He is not a "78"Rating, he has quizzes everyday before class, but just use your book.. its online as homework... The tests are tough, you have to study, but its straight from his PPT, so no stress, if you're afraid of studying, LEAVE BAYLOR NOW! Mossman is wonderful, take him, get to know him!, 9.8/10, simply for tests and quizzes  - Grade In Class:B+

Comments:1310 Christian Scriptures - He really loves the Lord and the Bible and wants to teach you. He honestly gets emotional talking about Jesus giving His life on the cross and you can tell it means a lot to him. He gives hard quizzes over pretty large sections of the Bible that you have to do for reading but it's on Canvas and timed which is not bad. He gives a lot of unnecessary details when he speaks, but the tests are off of the handouts which you should print and bring to class. If anything is in bold or underlined, you need to know it. It takes a bit of time to read it all, and he's not an easy teacher, but you can probably do alright. Study groups help for this class.  - Grade In Class:B

Comments:1310 &1350 - DAVID MOSEMAN IS ONE OF THE GREATEST PROFESSORS AT BAYLOR. Seriously the sweetest man I have ever met. I took him for both Scriptures and Heritage. Scriptures was one of my favorite classes because Dr. Moseman is so passionate about the material and it really shows in the way he teaches and cares about his students. He had this ability to take scriptures that you had heard a thousand times and make them come alive in ways that you had never considered before. Let me tell you though, this class was not a walk in the park. There are multiple quizzes a month which require reading assignments from the bible along with them. What I did like about that is that we were reading straight from the bible and not a textbook about the bible. He allows you to do these quizzes online outside of class. His Heritage class was a bit more intense. Unlike Scriptures, I was not as familiar with some of the material, making studying for his exams harder. Also in his Heritage class there is a online quiz before each class to make sure that you do the reading, which I disliked at first, but liked that I already was familiar with some of the material before I came to class that day. With both his Scriptures and Heritage courses YOU HAVE TO GO TO CLASS. Not only is important to take good notes in his class because that is what will be on the tests, but he will also give you a maximum of 2 points on your final grade at the end of the semester if you have perfect attendance, 1 point if you have one absence. This bumped me up to an A from an A- in Heritage! His class discussions are usually fairly interesting and he will ask students questions based on the topics you discuss. His tests are no joke. You have to know the material forwards, backwards, and upside down. Pay attention to what he says in class. It is important. If you want an easy class, don't take Moseman. If you want to learn a TON and be taught by one of the most caring professors you'll ever have, TAKE MOSEMAN. This man is truly one of a kind. I asked him if he could wear a bowtie to our Heritage final, and explained that it would make me less stressed about the test. He showed up to our final exam wearing a bowtie. Y'all. He's great.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1350 - You are not going to ever have a more compassionate and caring professor than Dr. Moseman. He is truly someone who wakes up every morning and loves what he does, and loves his students. He teaches the subjects he does because they've meant so much to him and he wants his students to appreciate them too. Dr. Moseman's class is NOT EASY. You will have to work very hard. I recommend going to SI's and having regular study groups. But when it comes down to it, you will not regret having taken him at the end of the semester. Wonderful professor, better man.  - Grade In Class:B+

Comments:Heritage - Decent professor, TERRIBLE TESTS. Yes, he's a nice guy but at the end of the day the nicest professor won't get you an A in the class. Reasoning behind the terrible test is because they are cumulative. I'm not a history major or a theologian. Majority of the other professors's test are not cumulative and they're much easier. Although I can't complain with a B+, I would have preferred an A for the amount of work I put in. I didn't miss a quiz (quizzes are 32% of your grade) and scored well (never lower than a 85% on a quiz). The test were stupidly hard because they're tricky. Tricky with how they are worded, one word/name can make a difference and you'll get it wrong. On the third test you'll get a cheat sheet, half a page of notes, but the amount of information is insane. You may see other student's saying you get extra credit, 2% on your final average, but that's if you aren't tardy or missing a class. I did get this extra credit but it definitely didn't help with getting an A-. SI sessions are available but if you're not fond of history, my attitude for this class, then going to these is not worth the time. Notes are straight off the power points and that's how he teaches. It get's boring during class because you'll just be waiting to fill in the blank spaces. Depending on the students in the class, your class may get into a discussion about something that isn't even going to be on the test. Dr.Moseman will entertain these discussion, which confuses people. Overall, great person with a great attitude but don't take this class. Save yourself the work and get another professor. If you want an honest opinion from a person who is a STEM major, don't take this. You'll have an awful time with finding motivation for this class.  - Grade In Class:B+

Comments:1350 - Dr. Moseman is the most inspirational and passionate man I've ever met! His class sizes are about 70+ kids, yet he takes the time to learn everyone's name AND speak to them personally, hug them, and make sure their day is going okay. He's the most genuine professor. He doesn't just lecture. He actually teaches us how to go about college and life in a Christian manner. He isn't biased just because he is a Christian and Baylor is a Christian school. He's willing to work with you if you have extenuating circumstances, and he gives 2 extra points on your final grade for perfect attendance. Their is a quiz over about 5 pages of reading for every class, but these are easy grades and count just as much as the tests. If you actually study for the test you can easily make at least a B on the test. I accidentally bombed my 1st test which is the reason I made a B in the class instead of a B+ or A, but it was my fault. Take Dr. Moseman! He's the sweetest ever!  - Grade In Class:B

Comments:Heritage - If you are looking for an easy way out of getting Religion credits, I don't recommend Moseman only because you won't enjoy the class. This is a history class, not Sunday School. And there are definitely easier professors. BUT Moseman is one of my favorite professors by far. He remembers everyone's names and things about them, which makes him very approachable. He is so good at teaching a ton of material in a small amount of time, that's why he posts the powerpoints online. He's just very good at teaching. The tests are multiple choice, but do not be deceived, they are extremely tricky. I only made an A on one of them. My quizzes and attendance saved my grade.  - Grade In Class:A

They saved me from having to eith drop this class or risk getting a F. Do the readings and take the quizzes. He drops 3 but it'll surprise you how quickly your grade will drop drop a few bombed quizzes. His test are extremely hard but passable. I would literally study for 3 days and then take the test only to get an 80-90. If you put in the work then you'll make the grade. We NEVER discuss any other religions. I'm not sure if that's because of the fast pace with so much being covered, or if it's because of his own personal beliefs.  - Grade In Class:D

Comments:1310 - READ THIS REVIEW! Dr. Moseman's class is not one that you want to miss out on. First of all the textbook for the class is THE BIBLE, this isn't like every other Christian Scriptures class that is like an english class. We read the bible and don't focus on the theology. There isn't too much reading either! Secondly, he has quizzes but they are legit taken from the handouts and your reading, and MOSEMAN DROPS THE 3 LOWEST QUIZ GRADES!!! Thirs, Mosemsn's class is seriously the most entertaining class, you'll never be bored he has a way of keeping our attention. Fourth, THERE'S EXTRA CREDIT!! he gives you 3pts on your SEMESTER GRADE for perfect attendance, etc! and lastly i cant express enough how great his class, and how great HE is! take the class, you won't regret it! Comments:REL 1350 - Dr. Moseman is a super nice guy that really cares about his students. I went in for help and we ended up talking about my classes and what I wanted to do with my life for a whole hour. If you are looking for an easy religion class to just fulfill a requirement don't take this class. For the test you will need to know the information backwards, forwards, and underneath. His class takes some time to prepare for as there is an online quiz over a short reading selections (almost aways less that 8 pages). I did have a couple of annoying people in my class that asked questions about everything he said and basically tried too hard in his class so hopefully you won't get those people in your class! Go to SI if you have time as the few I went to did help.  - Grade In Class:B

Comments:REL1310/1350 - I cannot speak highly enough of Dr. Moseman. I took him for Scriptures and Heritage and enjoyed every minute of it. Seriously, TAKE HIM. His level of care for his students is above and beyond what I expected from a college professor. He will know your name by the second week of class and will seriously invest in your life if you take the time to get to know him. His teaching ability is unmatched. He is so passionate about the material and has a very pastoral perspective about what he teaches, showing us how to apply what we learn about the Bible and the history of the church to our everyday lives. That being said, these are definitely not blowoff classes. I am familiar with the Bible, so Scriptures wasn't unreasonably difficult. However, Heritage took quite a bit of work. He teaches lots of details and expects you to know those details. One good thing about his classes is the fact that around 30ish percent of your grade comes from online nightly reading quizzes. You can take notes over the readings and use them on the quiz, which is very helpful. He'll also drop your three lowest quiz grades and add two percentage points to your overall grade for perfect attendance. In Scriptures, the tests aren't cumulative. 99% of the readings for this class come from the Bible, so naturally his class can feel very much like a Bible study. However, don't be fooled- you need to write down everything he says, especially if he writes it on the board. Anything that comes out of his mouth is fair game for the test. In Heritage, the tests are much harder (there's a lot more information and the material is not as familiar) and have some cumulative material on them. However, it is much easier to take notes because he gives us a fill in the blank version of his powerpoint slides. He also gives out study sheets with the specific dates and cumulative items you need to know. Don't put off studying for his tests; you'll need to know the material inside and out to do well. However, the extra work was DEFINITELY worth it just to be in his class. One of the best parts of having him was the depth of his love for the Lord. The Bible is deeply real to him, so much so that he was nearly in tears when we talked about the crucifixion in his Scriptures class. He teaches the Bible academically without reducing it to simply a textbook to discuss and pick apart. He LOVES what he teaches, which makes his class so much more meaningful. I learned so much and I am deeply grateful that I took him. His classes were one of the highlights of my freshman year at Baylor and I would take him again in a heartbeat.  - Grade In Class:A

Dr. Moseman is a super nice professor and genuinely cares for his students, but the workload is insane. Of the four tests, I only made one A, and I started studying four days in advance. Comments:Religion 1310- Scriptures - Terrific professor!! A very sweet guy and his lectures are very interesting and often inspired me to be a better person :) There are three tests and a final. If you take notes over what he SAYS and not just the powerpoints, you'll do great! Know the stories and the points he stresses and repeats in class. Readings for every class and a quiz over it due before you get to class. There's quite a bit of outside reading, but I've found that's the case with most religion courses at Baylor. The class was so interesting so I didn't mind the work. Overall, a great professor and I would definitely take him again! Comments:1310 & 1350 - I took Dr. Moseman for Scriptures and absolutely loved him! He was passionate about what he was teaching, the workload was bearable, and the tests were pretty straightforward as long as you studied. I decided to take him for Heritage because I enjoyed his class so much. I wouldn't necessarily recommend him for Heritage. He requires quizzes before every class that take about 2-3 hours worth of reading. Plus, the material isn't as interesting, so he mainly just goes off of PowerPoints. He's still an awesome man and truly cares for his students, his Heritage class just isn't as awesome as his Scriptures class.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:REL 1310 - Dr. Moseman is amazing!!! I loved everything about him and his course except for how hard it was. He is very kind and personable, but he expects much from you to do well in the class. It was extremely difficult! At first, It seemed like he was just trying to trick us on the quizzes and exams, but that is apparently how he tests your knowledge. Be prepared to have to take immaculate notes and study hard. There are weekly quizzes over the readings; you are allowed to look at your homework notes while taking them. They account for much of the overall grade. Lectures cover homework readings which you should always read or he will know and threaten to give a pop quiz. Anything he says in class will probably be on the exam, so TAKE GOOD NOTES!!! The exams are all true/false and multiple choice. The final was not cumulative. His SI was extremely helpful and was a huge factor to my doing well in the class. Go to every SI and study the handouts over and over. You get extra credit for attending all classes and participating in an optional food diet challenge (eating and drinking the same thing at each meal for two weeks). Also, having a study group/partner is super helpful! Overall, I am so glad I had Dr. Moseman!!! If you have the time to dedicate to it, this class can be very rewarding...  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1310 - The class wasn't too difficult to make an A in, but there are definitely easier teachers out there. The class had four unit tests--the final is not cumulative which is nice. A large chunk of your grade comes from online quizzes which are fairly easy if you do the reading. The tests are purely from the notes so you definitely have to go to class all the time. Aside from cramming the night before tests and doing the reading/quizzes, there's not a lot of homework. Tests are multiple choice and true/false. Some people consider him to be the best teacher on earth, others in class consider him really arrogant/annoying. I didn't mind his class and I would recommend him to most people.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:REL 1310 - Dr. Moseman was a blessing to take. A very passionate teacher when it comes to Theology and God. A very very Christian man I must compliment. Dr. Moseman's class is very easy. The online quizzes he assigns makes up 34% of your grade while exams and finals only account for 17% of your grade. He also gives an ample amount of extra credit, including 70 points of extra credit in the quiz category. If you read for your quizzes, take sufficient notes, and attend the SI sessions fairly regularly, you will make a 95 or better in this class. Dr. Moseman is a very understanding a kind hearted man. He makes class enjoyable and really teaches you HOW to be a Christian properly rather than the world view of what you HAVE to do to be a Christian. His class was very light and enjoyable. My favorite professor no doubt!  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1350 - Christian Heritage -- I have the textbooks for sale if you need them."A Short History of Christianity" by Tomkins and "Exploring Christian Heritage" by Weaver. Email me at connor_warme@baylor.edu. First off, Moseman is a great guy. Quality character, cares a whole lot about his students..he has a pastor's heart. That said, I don't like his teaching style nor do I agree with the amount of material covered for a freshman level, university-required class. He has nightly readings, which involve a small number of pages, but almost every reading has a quiz (~10 questions, closed book, open notes). He has a strict attendance policy, but if you make it to every single class he'll add +2 points on your final grade. His classes are completely lecture based, but he demands participation/ involvement (and gets upset when people don't contribute to class). He has 4 exams (with some comprehensive material from the previous exams) which are really heavy on dates and people. I mean, its a history class -- basically everything that he puts on the powerpoints is fair game and stuff you should know going into the exam. His tests include T/F, matching, and multiple choice. For the freshman in the class, it was a little overwhelming as they tried to learn how to study and figure out what Moseman wanted/ learned how to play the game. Being a junior (and a Religion major) it was kind of a cruise...I studied 3-4 hours the night before the tests and got A's on every one. You just have to know how to study, how to cram a whole lot of dates and remember the key figures and their impact on Christian history. Summary: a lot of work for a freshman level class. You have to know your stuff. But Moseman is a really nice prof, cares a lot about his students, and wants to see you succeed. I just didn't care for his teaching style/approach to the class, but that's just my opinion.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1350-Heritage - Take Dr. Moseman!! He is not only passionate about the heritage of Christianity, but also about his students grasping concepts. He effectively uses class time to present a large chunk of material each class period. He always greeted students at the beginning of class and made them feel at home, while still being a university professor. He does a great job of balancing professor mode with also caring about the students as individuals. Reading and Quizzes: There is reading due almost always before each class period and a 10-15 question quiz on Blackboard. These quizzes are important. He brings in the answers to the questions the next day in class so you can learn which ones you missed and why. These quiz questions are likely to show up on exams. Tests: They are all cumulative so they build up on each other, but it makes studying for the final easier. Memorize dates/people/events/books written/etc. and be able to relate them to each other. He gives you PP slides with blanks to fill in. Make sure you go to class and pay attention because he goes fast. To study for his exams I would take my own notes on his lectures then use the PowerPoint slide print outs to quiz myself. If I could recite the material in my notes back to myself without looking then I knew I was prepared for the exam. If you memorize everything then you can answer his comprehensive questions quickly, otherwise if you know the material halfway you’ll get confused. Really though he's a great professor if you can handle the workload.  - Grade In Class:B

Comments:1310 & 1350 - I would recommend Dr.Moseman to anyone who truly wants to learn the material and is interested in this subject. He is a great teacher and is passionate about it! He does a great job of applying things to our lives. He’s such a sweet guy and wants to make sure we understand. For both classes, you have online quizzes on almost every reading (which you can use notes on), and the tests. For Scriptures (1310), his tests are not cumulative. For Heritage (1350), there is some cumulative material. He usually lets you know what that material is. His finals are not cumulative. This is not an easy A. You really have to learn the material, and although he teaches it brilliantly, you do need to spend time outside of class learning Bible references (for Scriptures) and names and dates (for Heritage). He gives a great extra credit opportunity in Scriptures (boosted my overall grade by 2%), drops the 2 lowest quizzes, and offers another 2% to your overall grade for perfect attendance.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:REL 1310 & 1350 - Dr. Moseman is a great professor and a wonderful person overall!! He is very passionate about what he teaches and he genuinely cares for his students! That being said, his classes are not that easy. I found 1310 to be relatively easy because of how much background I had in the Bible before taking his Scriptures class, but I could imagine it being quite difficult had I not known the Bible as well. He has timed quizzes almost every class (blackboard), one paper, and NON-cumulative exams, including the final - which is nice! I found his 1350 class much more difficult. It is pretty much a history class. You have to memorize tons of dates/people/events/books written/etc. and be able to relate them to each other. The reading load wasn't too bad. Like his 1310 class, there are daily timed quizzes, NO PAPER!!, and non-cumulative exams. To do well in this class, you MUST MEMORIZE pretty everything that he has on his powerpoint slides!! Overall, if you really want to learn something, I strongly recommend Dr. Moseman!! It's not easy, but it's worth it!  - Grade In Class:A

The tests are very hard and consist of matching, true false, and multiple choice. I would do all nighters before the tests to study and ended up with A's. You need to know all the little details. DO NOT MISS CLASS! You get 2 points added to your grade at the end of the semester, which can really boost your grade. If you want to slack off, don't take him. Comments:1310 - Dr. Moseman is a really wonderful professor. He's very passionate about what he teaches, and he teaches well. We had to read the bible for every class, and sometimes those were pretty lengthy. There was an online quiz almost every week. The tests were pretty hard and covered a lot of material, but I think he prepared us well. All the tests are multiple choice and true/false. Comments:1310/1350 - Dr. Moseman is by far my favorite teacher at Baylor. I had his classes two years ago and we still keep in touch! Such a passionate professor. He really loves what he teaches and wants his students to understand the material\'s importance. With that said, you NEED to attend class every day, take great notes, and read the material/do the quizzes. The exams come mostly from your notes (in scriptures) and from the power points (in heritage). You definitely will not get an A in this class by slaking. His heritage class is quite a bit tougher than his scriptures class but overall worth it to me. I highly recommend taking Dr. Moseman if you are willing to put in the effort and work required.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1350 - First, let me say that if you are looking for an easy A course, do NOT take Dr. Moseman's class. If you are a science major like me, I would recommend taking someone else because I studied just as much for his class as I did all my other science classes...SUCH a pain. The online quizzes were the easiest thing in his class, that was the only time I would read the required readings. Don't slack off on the quizzes because they end up being worth a huge chunk of your final grade (and he drops your lowest 3 quiz grades). There were maybe about 2 quizzes per week. Attend class EVERY SINGLE DAY, or you will miss the notes. His notes are powerpoints that you SHOULD ALWAYS print off and take with you to class, and they are mostly fill-in-the-blank so you HAVE to go to lecture. I hated all of his lectures and powerpoints, they had absolutely no structure in my opinion. His tests are RIDICULOUSLY difficult... lots of memorization of people, dates, important events and other jibber jabber. If you have no other choice but to take his class, I would highly recommend going to SI for the review sessions before each test. The only extra credit Moseman offers are points added back to previous tests if you make a certain amount of points higher on the following tests. Oh, and you get 2 points added to your final grade if you have perfect attendance. I managed to make an A in this course, but that's because I know how to study and definitely put a lot of time into this class. As a person, Dr. Moseman is quite nice, and cares a lot about his students and the subject he teaches, but he shows no mercy when it comes to those tests... an overall good guy but not an amazing teacher.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:Heritage - Very interesting class. He's very nice and you can tell he really enjoys what he does, and cares for his students. However his test are difficult. Lots of dates and people! So if you just want an easy A, I don't recommend him. But if you really want to learn and get a lot out of the class, I HIGHLY recommend him.  - Grade In Class:C

Comments:REL 1350 - He is a super nice guy! I really enjoy his lectures, but sometimes find myself listening and thinking about what is said rather than taking notes on it. He gives you the PP slides so you only have to fill in the blanks and take notes on what he says. I would highly suggest printing them off. His quizzes are pretty easy and you can get an easy A on that section of your grade. His test are wicked hard and can possibly give you stress and anxiety disorders. The first test he says is the hardest, but that is not true. His 2nd test covers almost a 1000 years, has about 50-80 dates to memorize and several names and events that you need to know in detail. He gives you opportunities to improve your grade by doing better on your next test. He is super friendly and funny. I wouldn't suggest this class to people who want an easy A, but if you put in the work and attend the SIs then you should be ok. He wants his students to do well, but also to really know the material he covers well. He will work with you if you talk to him and are trying hard. His attendance policy is a little rough, but is beneficial because if you miss class you are screwed over that material you missed. I liked the class and he stretched my mind for sure.  - Grade In Class:C+

Comments:HEB1302 and 1304 - Nicest and funniest professor I have ever had. Constantly making silly jokes with the class. Passionate about Hebrew and passes that on to his students. Hebrew requires a lot of work, but Dr. Moseman will make sure you are prepared to succeed.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:Heritage - I read reviews on this professor before deciding to take is class and I was pretty excited. I honestly do not know why everyone says to take his class. I am a straight A business student and barely managed to pass this class. The quizzes are not too hard as long as you take notes. The tests are insanely hard. I studied more for them than any other test and I could still barely pass. Don't take him if you care about your GPA. He also asks annoying questions in class. Good Luck....  - Grade In Class:C

Comments:1310 - Dr. Moseman is one of my favorite professors. He is so passionate and knowledgeable about religion and God. You cannot get out of that class without learning something. Being honest, there was a lot of reading out of the study Bible and other sources. The syllabus gives a detailed schedule that is almost never amended. The online quizzes are very detail oriented and may seem like trick questions, but Dr. Moseman is just making sure you know what you read, so always take notes when you read! Take notes in class, print out the powerpoints he provides, and go to an SI (Supplemental Instruction) if you can. That really helped me. Once you learn how Dr. Moseman asks questions, you will start doing better on tests and quizzes. The tests are hard; multiple choice with true/false and some matching, but never essay questions. Some may not like him because you actually have to learn in this class, but I am here to learn, so I really liked this class.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:REl 1310 - I loved Dr. Moseman! He is the nicest, funniest, and most caring guy. He makes class fun and interesting. His class is not that hard, but not neccessarily an easy A. Homework only consists of reading a very managable amount before class. Quizzes are online, which ask pretty specfic questions from the reading. In order to do well on the tests, which are all multiple choice, you need to take really good notes in class and know them well. Dr. Moseman is a great teacher to take for Scriptures if you want to expand your faith and/or you want to enjoy the class, although I've heard that he is extremely hard for Heritage from multiple people. Overall, I absolutely love Dr. Moseman and would highly recommend him!  - Grade In Class:A

He moves very quickly through the material but he has SI sessions which go over what was covered in the previous class session. there are quizzes but they are not everyday. Comments:1350, Hebrew - Dr. Moseman. What a hoss. Dr. Moseman is the epitome of what it means to be a professor who is also a minister. He cares so much about his students. Even in a class of 50+, he learned everyone's name and regularly called on each of us in class. His thing is prior preparation, so make sure you're prepared for each class, and you will learn more than you ever thought possible. His lectures reinforce everything really well. He is very knowledgeable and extremely organized, so that you know exactly what is expected from the outset. Overall, Moseman's a quality, standup guy who cares about the material and his students. Comments:1350 - HE IS AN AMAZING PROFESSOR! I loved going to his class every tues/thurs! He is extremely interesting and really taught me a lot about interpreting the Bible. I understand so much more about Christianity after his great class! Honestly, his tests are pretty difficult and they definitely challenge your knowledge. You have to study extremely hard for them, but it's definitely worth it to go to his lectures. He requires that you retain everything he says in lecture, but just study your notes and the Bible efficiently. He also assigns online quizzes.  - Grade In Class:B+

Comments:1310 - Dr. Moseman is one of the finest professors Baylor has to offer its students. Witty, intelligent, and light-hearted, you will not be disappointed. If you read AND take notes over each reading and take notes in class, you will get an A. I got a B because I'm a bad test taker-- his tests force you to slow down and match every bit of material you know about that question. Very interesting how he does it. Took me a test to figure that out. The tests are very good representations of your knowledge of the material. Quizzes are online, often sporadic, and over basic material from the reading. If you do the work, you will gain alot. HERMENEUTICS is also a plus to this class. Look it up: the application goes beyond just religion. Also, his lectures are absolutely awe-inspiring and the discussions are no-stress... unless you don't know the material. Some of my classmates freeze when he asks direct questions about the material. Don't let that be you. I highly recommend this class to anyone who loves to learn with an open mind. You won't be disappointed.  - Grade In Class:B+

Comments:1310 - Dr. Moseman is a really nice guy! He is so passionate about religion and it is really evident in class. My advice? Take him. He is interesting, funny, and gives you the materials to succeed. Read the assignments before class (take light notes) and take DETAILED notes in class. Then when you are studying, review just your notes. No need to reread because he covers in class what he wants you to know for the test. GO TO CLASS though. He is a stickler for role and will fail students who do not go.  - Grade In Class:B+

Comments:1350 - Okay. Here's wussap-- Dr. Moseman is a super cool prof. but his class is pretty difficult. His lectures are generally really good and he is super passionate about his subject, which makes you WANT to learn! However, you absolutely have to keep up with the readings (which are usually not very long) and you should study for the tests a week or more in advance. I believed his tests to be a very fair assessment of your COMPLETE understanding of the material...but you couldn't just "kinda know it" and wing the test. He has a mission to make sure you understand the material the way HE wants you to grasp it and remember it-- which I appreciated and respected. It's also super important to keep up with the online quizzes because they sneak up on you. I really enjoyed going to his office hours and looking over my exams, talking to him about ways to improve the things I was struggling with on particular tests, etc. He is genuinely concerned with the way you approach your education in his class and just really wants you to give your personal best.  - Grade In Class:B+

Comments:1310 - I took this class because it was a requirement and I thought it would be an easy A because of lot of my friends were in it. He assigns so much reading, and I did it all. And his tests are tricky, and he acknowledges that. He words questions on purpose to trick you, I didn't think his tests were accurate assessments of how I understood the information because his questions were so sneaky. He is fully aware of this too and finds nothing wrong with it. Find another professor if you need to take this class solely for the requirement and do not have to the time to fully devote yourself to the work (like if you're taking a lot of hours and are a science, math, or engineering major.)  - Grade In Class:C

Comments:1310 - Christian Scriptures- Dr. Moseman truly is an amazing teacher and man of God, his class is both interesting and dynamic due to his personality. You will be fine if you keep up with the readings and go to the SIs! Don't slack on any of the quizzes like I did, or it could bump you down a letter grade. Dr. Moseman gives a moderate amount of reading but just take notes and knock it out and you'll get a B easy.  - Grade In Class:B

Comments:1310-08 - Dr. Moseman is by far the best teacher I've had at Baylor so far. He really genuinely cares about his students and knew us all on a first name basis within a week. He keeps class very interesting and is very entertaining. He makes sure everyone understand the section we're working on before moving forward. He'll make you laugh but you will always come out of class feeling like you learned something. There's reading for every class and quizzes over some of the reading, but the quizzes are easy if you read carefully. The quizzes also help to prevent you from falling behind by not reading. They count more than the actual tests do. He's usually open to meet with students if you just ask. I highly recommend him!  - Grade In Class:B

Comments:Scriptures - Dr. Moseman is THE BEST teacher I've had at Baylor. I could go on forever about how great he is. First off he makes class interesting. He is funny and entertaining, yet I always leave class feeling like I really learned something. Secondly he loves his students. He likes to get to know us and he will know your name even if you've never spoken to him before. His workload is fair. There are always readings and sometimes there is an online quiz on the reading. If you read closely the bible and his handouts, the quizzes are fairly easy. His tests aren't bad either. You do need to study, but he always prepares students for the tests which are multiple choice, true/false, and matching. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND DR. MOSEMAN if you want to enjoy religion and learn something in the process.  - Grade In Class:B+

Comments:REL 1350 - Fantastic professor. He gives Blackboard quizzes over the daily reading occasionally (the book is great, easy to read and short), around 15 for the year. The tests are solely over the lectures, for which he provides powerpoint handouts online with blanks for you to fill in. His tests are not as hard as everyone says; however, I can imagine a little difficulty if I struggled with memorizing dates. Other than that, no outside work. He loves his students, and really wants to make sure they not only learn the history of Christianity, but how that history applies to their lives. Comments:1310 - Dr. Moseman’s classes are very interesting if you are engaged the entire time. If you lose where he is in the lecture you will be bored. He has a very specific pattern to his lectures that he usually posts on blackboard as handouts. Don't let the easy flowing class discussions fool you. The first exam is EXTREMELY hard! Make sure that when you study you know the material on the handouts and all of the vocabulary and dates that he has told you. I would strongly suggest going to SI! If I hadn't gone I don't think that I would have done half as well in the class.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1310 - Dr. Moseman is a very nice person, and passionate about his teachings. However, he got extremely behind the material and we never ended up covering anywhere close to the amount of material other classes did. This is probably because he spends more time influencing his own opinions than focusing on the text. With that said, his tests were tricky and wordy, and he often asked "according to Dr. Moseman" questions rather than about the material itself. Overall, not a terrible class, but I learned more about his thoughts than the Bible itself. Would not take his class again.  - Grade In Class:B

None of my friends taking other professors for heritage had to know anything close to what I had to know. I studied for days for his tests, and still couldn't manage an A. He focuses a TON on dates, so if you are bad at dates, then don't even think about taking him. Comments:1310 - Christian Scriptures - Dr. Moseman is an amazing teacher who is very passionate about the material. I learned more from this class than any other class I have taken thus far. There is a decent amount of reading assigned, but that is not different than any other religion class. The good thing is, he only uses the Bible so there is no additional reading from a textbook. There are online quizzes that you take every other week or so. Read closely, because the questions can be very detailed. In class, make sure you take notes like crazy. Write down everything he says because it will come back up on the tests. Even details that seem miniscule. There are only three tests including the final, which is not comprehensive. For the tests, make sure you go over your class notes very well but also make sure you know everything on the handouts he gives you. That is where most of the material comes from on the tests. There is one extra credit assignment that you can do, and he also awards bonus points and drops some quiz grades. I loved this class, but you have to be willing to study hard for the tests (which are all multiple choice). The tests do not contain tricky questions, they are just very detailed.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1350 - First of all, Moseman is a good guy. He's nice, but he's extremely unhelpful. His entire classes are done on powerpoints, and his tests are based on these. Of course, this would be great if he told you what was on the test instead of saying to memorize it all (which can be difficult given that he gives an absurd amount of dates, places, people, their opinions, and their mother's opinions). It's not impossible, but it takes a lot of work. I was often very frustrated, spending hours and hours studying and only making Bs (barely). Stay away if you can (or if you hate history). Lastly, his moral effort is terrible. Anytime people didn't make As, he would tear us all down, never once taking any consideration that some of us are taking 18 hours, concentrating on classes that are for our major. It was all a bit ridiculous.  - Grade In Class:B

He doesnt realize that we have to go to other classes and that this isnt an upper level class. He answers pretty much all Bible or religion related questions with "well the text isn't really concerned with that..." His quizzes are ridiculous you need to take really detailed notes for the quizzes and you still end up missing a few questions. So unless you are already very familiar with the Bible be prepared for many headaches. THIS IS NOT A BLOW OFF CLASS. He requires you to know tiny details to make sure you're reading "deep" enough. There will also be several quizzes, at least one per week, and he dropped the lowest two. The only other graded assignments are journals. You have a journal due the day before each exam, but nothing to stress about. A paragraph or two will be good. Overall, if you do the work and pay attention, you should have no problem in this class. Comments:1310 - Dr. Moseman's class was my favorite my first freshman semester. It is not an easy class, but it's not as hard as a lot of people make it out to be. The quizzes aren't that hard if you read carefully, and the journals aren't graded very harshly as long as you have good grammar. The test, on the other hand, are extremely detailed, but not near as bad if you read carefully. The hardest part of the class is the second test where you are required to memorize about thirty dates. The workload is not as light as a lot of professor's, but if you take this class you will learn so much. He is very good at making scriptures seem interesting and also relevant. It's also clear to tell he truly cares both about what he teaches and his students. As a final note, don't except to get away without paying attention in this class. Test questions come right from the lecture and he has very strict rules regarding sleeping/not paying attention in class. If you're looking for an easy class, this is not for you. Its nice to see someone so passionate about his faith and instilling it in others. However, do not take his class expecting it to be easy. This was my most difficult class as a first semester freshman, and I am a science major. You cannot miss class and expect to succeed, as his tests contain very small details from the lectures. I didnt study as hard as i should have for his tests, but they really did only come from what he talked about in class. Try not to miss a class if you want everything that will be on the test. TAKE HIM  - Grade In Class:B+

Comments:1310 - I really enjoyed Dr. Moseman. He focused on the characters and symbolisms of the stories instead of memorizing where a specific verse is found. As long as you take good notes on the reading assignments you should do well on the quizzes. Don't go into this class thinking that it is going to be easy. Go over all the readings and spend a good hour or two studying notes before a test. I hate true/false questions but I managed to get through those sections. I highly recommend him and I wish I could take him for Christian Heritage but it doesn't fit my schedule!!!  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:Rel 1310 - Moseman is a great teacher. His lectures are interesting and he always gets the class involved. Homework is just as much as any religion class will require and his quizzes are super easy IF you do the reading. Tests were difficult so study hard and take good notes in class.   - Grade In Class:B

Comments:1310 - He is very passionate about the stuff he teaches. He cried once. That's how much he loves Christian Scriptures. You have to do the reading. Do not, however, skim through the reading. His online quizzes and exams are very detailed about the content. If you got the big picture of the readings, the details should be fairly easy. Make sure you read the assigned reading before class, he might call on you. Do not miss his class. He does take attendance.   - Grade In Class:B

Comments:1310 - Christian Scriptures with Dr. Moseman is one of the best choices I ever made. He taught me so much. there are daily readings in his class and random online quizzes but you can use the notes you take over the readings. His tests are multiple choice, matching and true/false. Some of his questions are a little tricky so you have to make sure to read carefully. I learned so much from Dr. Moseman and would recommend him to anyone.  - Grade In Class:B+

Comments:1350 - Christian Heritage is much harder than his Scriptures class. It could have been because I had a stronger background for Scriptures, but we cover so much information so quickly it is hard to be prepared for the tests unless you study all the time. I love Dr. Moseman and he is my favorite professor at Baylor, but his class is not a walk in the park.  - Grade In Class:B

Comments:1350-Christian Heritage - I hate history and was not looking forward to Christian Heritage, but this class ended up being one of my favorites! Dr. Moseman is an exceptional teacher and is very clear about the subject matter and what is required in his course. He cares about each of his students and is so passionate about this course. There is very little reading for the course maybe 9-10 pages for each class. And the book is not a textbook and is actually interesting. There are occaisional online or in class quizzes which you must read for. The tests are mainly from the notes and include, T/F, matching and multiple choice. The tests are very thorough and you must know everything from the lectures especially dates, authors, and ecumenical councils. But the tests are very managable as long as you don't wait until the last minute to study. Dr. Moseman makes this class very entertaining and engaging. I was never bored in class because he always kept my attention. He is a great professor and you will learn a lot!  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1350 - Dr. Moseman may very well be the best professor you'll have in your time at Baylor. People often complain that his class is difficult, but it's definitely not unreasonable. He expects you to know lots of dates and different people's stances on issues and beliefs and that kind of thing, so you won't be able to do well unless you actually know your stuff, but this is college... that's to be expected. Taking notes in his class is essential since 100% of his test questions will come from these notes. The final was not cumulative and was weighted just as much as his other tests, so no extra stress there. But as for the man himself, David Moseman is amazing. He keeps class fun with his great personality and funny quips and is really passionate about the material. He cares for his students and wants all of them to do well. His class will easily stand out as one of my favorites of all time. TAKE HIM!  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1305 - Dr. Mosemans class is by far...not an easy A. If you want to suceed in this class you MUST do your readings otherwise you won't know what he is lecturing about in class. I really enjoyed Dr. Mosemans class...he kepts me awake and interested...and he is a very nice man. Quizzes and tests are kinda tricky! esp tests!  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1310 - Dr. Moseman is a wonderful professor!! Although his tests are very, very hard, they are possible. Lots of quizzes and tons of reading, but I looked deeper into the bible than I ever have! his lectures were great and very insightful. He's a caring man that knows what he's talking about.  - Grade In Class:B+

Comments:1310 - I LOVE LOVE LOVE Dr. Moseman. He is an amazing teacher! There is reading everyday, and online quizzes at least once a week, but if you keep up with the reading you will do fine. The test are both T/F and multiple choice and kinda hard, but if you pay attention in class and take notes you will do fine. Dr. Moseman knows what he is talking about, and makes class very interesting. The best part is that it is NOT cumulative!! So once you test over something, you won't be tested on it again. If you have any questions, he will answer them, and is always willing to meet with you. TAKE HIM!  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1310 - Dr. Moseman is fantastic!!!!!!I loved this class and it was one of my favorites. Moseman is very friendly, humerous, and passionate on what he is teaching. Yes, the class may take a little more work than others but it is well worth it. His quizzes and tests are tricky but not impossible. He knows everyone by name and makes the class interesting. He tends to preach in class but I enjoyed it. Dr.Moseman is a very very smart man and I strongly reccomend him for Christian Scriptures.   - Grade In Class:B+

Comments:REL - Christian Scriptures! Dr. Moseman makes learning about the Bible really interesting. You definitely need to read the assigned readings and you will do well on the quizzes. Unfortunately, his tests are a little tough but if you ask questions in class and e-mail him then he is more than welcome to help you. He wants you to succed but you have to put in the effort. He cracks jokes in class as well!!  - Grade In Class:C+

Comments:Scriptures - Really nice guy but his tests are unreasonable. This is one of the few classes in which you can work your butt off and still struggle to succeed. I'd avoid taking this class if you want your GPA to remain in tact. You'll learn a lot if you take Moseman's class, but your GPA will feel the effects.  - Grade In Class:C+

Comments:1310 - Dr. Moseman's class is fabulous! He is so passionate about everything he teaches and he made class very enjoyable. He always encouraged discussion on the things we had read. The only homework we had for this class was to read the bible and write 7 journals over the things we had read. The tests in Dr. Moseman's class were not difficult. They will always be from his lecture as well as the reading and any handouts he gave out. We had several quizzes over the reading and they were very easy as long as you read the material. The final was very easy and was not cumulative. I learned so much in this class and will recommend it to anyone.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1310 - I ABSOLUTELY LOVE Dr. Moseman, tear :) He is by far the greatest Professor I will ever have in College. He has meant more to me than I can ever express. He genuinely cares for each and every one of his students and most importantly, he loves the Lord with all his heart!! If you want the Bible to come alive, take him. He is very expressive in his teaching. We had many laughs throughout the semester :) Believe me, he will make an impact in your lives too!!  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1310 - Dr. Moseman is probably going to be the greatest college professor that I have ever will have!!! His class has left a tremendous impact on my life and I will forever be indebted to him for that. He has an incredible way of making scriptures interesting. He knows the Bible well and he leaves you knowing a lot more than you started with! He has a few online quizzes that are totally manageable as long as you do the readings. You have to do 7 journals, which are just grade boosters! They only have to be 300 words long. His tests require a lot of studying and are mostly from the class notes....so take lots of good notes! They consist of multiple choice, true/false, and matching. You have readings every night, and should probably take notes over the readings....especially since you can use your reading notes on the quizzes! Any...take Dr Moseman, you will not regret it!!   - Grade In Class:B+

Comments:1310 - I think Dr. Moseman is an AMAZING professor. You have to work hard for your grade though. You can tell he's really passionate about what he teaches. He's pretty much always in a good mood. His tests were a little hard, but if you studied a lot then you'll do fine. Make sure you take class notes!! He has questions over random things you talked about in class that you would think would have no relevance but it WILL be on the test. So write down everything he puts on the board. He has tons of quizzes but they are doable but tricky a lot of times. At the beginning of the semester we took them in class and he wouldn't let you know when you had a quiz, but then he switched it to online which was definitely a lot easier and less stressful cause you knew ahead of time if you had a quiz. I worked really hard in this class though. I took outside notes over our reading and studied for hours and barely pulled an A. Good thing though is if he sees you working hard in the class and have an 89 he'll bring it up to an A. We also had 7 online journals which were easy so that helps your grade a lot too. His teaching definitely made me interested in the stuff we were learning, unlike a lot of professors. I used to never look at the Bible but after his class, I actually learned a lot. TAKE HIM! He has a great personality and is available if you have questions.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1310 - I really enjoyed Moseman's Christian Scripures, he focused on the literary value of the Bible and everything we read was from the bible. He presented a lot of information about the old testament especially that I had never thought about. He has quizes over most of the reading and they can be very tricky so be sure to read carefully, he lets you use the notes you take over the reading on the quizes so that really helps. His tests are hard they are all multiple choice or matching, but i always felt prepared for them. Just be careful how you read the question, don't get in a hurry. He does have you turn in seven journals though the course of the semester but you can write them over almost anything you want and he grades them fairly so they arent hard. He enjoys when his students talk in class, he takes a class participation grade. The questions he asks for answers to in class are pretty obvious so speak up. He breaks up his lectures with stories when he can tell the class is slowing dying... he does a good job about feeling the vibe from the class and teaching accordingly while still fitting everything in. The class is a bit of work to keep up with reading but it is worth it because of the quality of the time used in his class.  - Grade In Class:B+

Comments:1310 - Dr.Moseman is a very intelligent man. He gets into his lectures and makes you think about the material. If you do not mind a challenge, i would recomend taking this class. His tests truly test how much you know. You have to truly study the material and know that you know all the things that are discussed in class. I would definitely recomend this class to anyone who reallu wants to understand the WORD.   - Grade In Class:B+

Comments:1310 - Moseman's class was definetely my favorite out of all my classes my first semester of fish year. Awesome professor, he does make you work extremely hard, but it really is all worth it in the end. I know it was religion, but seriously this was my favorite class!! The one great thing that I loved about it, is that it was extremely non biased. He doesn't shove stuff in your face, but gives you the decision to decide according to your beliefs. I really enjoyed it, & believe everyone should take it! Tests are a little bit scary at first, but once you get the hang of his style then you'll do fine. He's pretty passionate, and insists that you pay attention.. but it does you no harm. He doesn't ever put you to sleep. GREAT PROFESSOR! TAKE HIM, youll learn more to life. =]  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1310 - Dr. Moseman is an extremely likable guy! He keeps class very interesting and is very passionate about his faith, profession and student's success. However, this is not an easy class. His test are challenging and there is an extensive amount of reading. You have to write 7 journal entries (130 words or more) about stuff you talk about in class or in the readings. And, you have about 8 or 10 online quizzes. But...when you are finished with the course, you will know your scriptures and the history of behind the Bible. If you are not afraid of a little work and you want to really learn the info....this is the professor for you!  - Grade In Class:B

Comments:1350 - He is not the easiest teacher for Christian Heritage. There are no worksheets, powerpoints, are anytype of visual aid whatsoever. He just lectures the entire class period. The homework can be anywhere from 20 to 35 pages a night and his quizzes are not very easy. The exams come directly from the notes. So, if you do not take good notes during his long and boring lectures, you will not do so well on the tests. In order to make an A, you just have to learn how to cram information, especially DATES, in your head a few nights before the exam. I would not recommend this guy.   - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1310 - Dr. Moseman is an incredibly kind man who genuinely cares for his students. He is passionate about what he teaches and he tends to just talk about the stories and not really give notes. His lectures are sometimes hard to take notes on, even though he points out the importance of taking good notes. He skips around the stories and uses lots of vague pronouns (he did this, he did that) that are sometimes hard to decipher. Overall his class was interesting and i learned a lot, but his tests were incredibly hard to study for and often didn't reflect the notes he gave or how hard you studied. I would take him again, but only if I wasn't set on getting an A. I did all the homework and readings and studied hard for tests, and barely got a B+. Also, his daily reading quizzes are hard tog et a 100 on, he focuses a lot on minute details and things from his handouts on blackboard, which are also hard to understand before he explains them.  - Grade In Class:B+

Comments:1310 - Dr. Moseman is a very good teacher. You do have readings everyday and there is always a chance of a quiz, but as long as you read you will be fine. If you take reading notes you get to use them on the quizzes. You have to write 7 journals throughout the entire semester, but they really aren't that bad. Try to get them out of the way early though. His tests are not that bad, but you do need to study for them. He is a really sweet guy. I highly recommend him.  - Grade In Class:A
