Comments:1405/1406 - As a person, Dr. Adair is kind, caring, and genuinely excited and passionate about her subject. As a professor, she is inconsistent, confusing, and vague. The textbook is not very well written and it's hard to find outside resources. The SEAPHAGES online guide is your best friend but also isn't always accurate for her class? Her class will prepare you well for upper level courses, but it might also make you cry. Do the readings, review your exams in office hours (she gives back points sometimes), and do flashcards with quiz questions. 1405 (got an A) is easier than 1406 (B).  - Grade In Class:B+

Comments:1405 - very kind and sweet lady, I would say she's too knowledgeable to be teaching freshman bio. Her scope of knowledge goes far beyond what we need to learn, which makes it hard for her to come down to our level. She assigns an open note quiz each week, which is not too bad. Tests were horrendous, you had to memorize the textbook in order to get a decent grade. The lecture is pointless.  - Grade In Class:B

Comments:1405/1406 - Dr. Adair cares about her students a lot and is obviously very passionate about labwork, but she's not the best at teaching. I learned most of the material from studying with friends and asking the TA for help. The textbook is also pretty confusing. It's focused on having students be engaged and learn on their own, which means it takes a lot of work to understand and remember. Rather than learning principles, you have to know studies that led to certain scientific findings and be able to interpret figures from those studies. There's a lot of work, not only because of the textbook but also because of the lab. It's a research lab focused on isolating local bacteriophages, and you should expect to put A LOT of time into lab (first semester the scheduled lab times are 2:30-5:30, M+W; you don't always use all the time but expect to be there for at least an hour and a half every day). Take this class if you're prepared to spend extra hours on the textbook and really want to do interesting research freshman year (much more engaging than BU Trees). Don't take it if you want an easy biology class. It was really hard for me, but in the end I enjoyed the small class size (23) and the opportunity to do real lab research.  - Grade In Class:B

Comments:1305 - Taking the online bio 1305 class during summer 2020, absolutely a mess. She does not lecture at all. What it is is you have to read the textbook and then she posts 3 minute videos from her backyard to I guess make an appearance every now and then. The only thing that is provided are powerpoints and they are not helpful and not narrated and barely notated. Really disappointed that I have to learn 14+ chapters or so all by myself. There is no lecture to guide the textbook so you sit and memorize the textbook, a chapter per day, and then you spit it out on the week's test. Poor organization, but maybe she's way better in person? Seems like a nice lady but there is a major organization problem with this online class. HW is crazy, but probably because it's a 4 week course. Tests are average, if you read the textbook and slam your head into it every day then you can do well. I sit down at 9 AM and finish barely by 11 PM so it's rough. Gave a bad score for teaching because she literally isn't teaching any of the material. If you're willing to memorize a textbook by yourself for 4 weeks then it's fine.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:BIO 1305 H - Take Adair! Easy A! I read some of the other reviews saying that you don't need to pay attention in class, and that's what I did, but apparently some of her test questions come from her lectures, so definitely pay attention in class! She has a lot of extra credit opportunities, such as the clicker questions that are worth up to three whole points towards your semester grade as well as lectures you can attend for additional bonus points. Even though the only A I scored on her tests was a 90, I still ended up with a pretty comfortable A in her class due to her extra credit and the way her class is set up. She also drops a test, which other teachers don't do. Even though her class was honors, I'd go so far as to say it was easier than non honors bio classes.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1305 H - Dr. Adair consistently gets really poor reviews on here, and I'm not completely sure why. It's true that her lectures are fairly boring and don't often have a whole lot to do with the text. Her tests, though, are pretty much entirely based on the book, so as long as you've actually read Campbell, you'll be fine. Plus, her Clicker questions give a really neat way to earn up to 3 whole points (!) just added on top of your grade at the end of the semester. Adair is a really solid option; she'll teach you what you need to know, and she isn't crazy hard, either. Just remember that you're going to need to work, just like you would in any other bio 1305 class.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1305 H - I'll come up straight and say this: Dr. Adair's lectures are not taken from the textbook. In several of the previous ratings, students have brought this point up. Don't take me wrong, though; I truly believe that her teaching style prepares you for what college is truly like. In college, you need to learn to self-study, or you will have a hard time, especially in upper-level courses. Dr. Adair expects you to come to class having done your reading for the session as well as the MasteringBiology homework already. Everything you need to know about the schedule for class is on her syllabus and reading schedule, so pay attention to those. Her lectures take a certain portion of the reading (for example, cellular respiration) and expound on them. Personally, I already had good self-study skills, so Dr. Adair's class wasn't too hard for me. Also, if you took AP biology, the course uses the same textbook, so that was another plus. As mentioned before, Dr. Adair assigns specific readings and MasteringBiology assignments for each class. In addition to those, she hands out group projects during the semester. Basically, you work together with about 6 other students to write up a report on a specific subject and then present it in class a week later. It gives you a chance to not only get to understand your material in-depth; you also get to know your classmates better. (By the end of the first month, everybody was sitting with their group mates.) Basically, there was a fair amount of homework for this class; I think that I spent more time on homework for this class than for any other class I had this semester. This is actually less than you might think, since most of my other classes had minimal homework. In regards to the tests, they weren't too difficult: all multiple-choice, and very much textbook-based. Pay attention to the special text inserts about various experiments and scientists, as she will often give questions based on them. Outside of class, Dr. Adair is quite accessible. I went to her office hours several times, either because I had a question about a report or the material or because I needed help finding resources, and she was always willing to help me. She also gives bonus points for clicker questions. That last point was quite confusing for a lot of people, myself included, so just know that the percentages you get from clicker points are for extra credit. If you don't understand your grade (or how she grades), go ask her. She'll be more than happy to explain. Overall, I found Dr. Adair's class to be quite stimulating and informative. If you do decide to take Dr. Adair (which I recommend), make sure that you either already have a good foundation in biology or are willing to study your book; attend SI if you have difficulty. Also, and I cannot emphasize this enough, READ THE SYLLABUS!!! You are expected to know when an assignment is due or a test is coming. Then again, this is college. If you are good at self-study and planning out your schedule, you will do well in this class. Otherwise, it might be a bit difficult.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:BIO 4301 - Dr. Adair is one of the most passionate professors I have taken at Baylor. Immunology requires a lot of studying, but her lectures are interactive and she knows much more information than is covered in the textbook. She treated us like adults and had us work on scientific journal articles. For this class, you ONLY need to study the textbook. Her lectures are not very useful in terms of what will be on the test. A general lesson for taking Adair (I had her for BIO 1 and Immunology) is: Memorize the textbook and you will get a high A in the class. I would recommend this class to any premed student that is willing to work!  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:4301 - This is the hardest class in the BSB. For those that learn best during class lecture, Dr. Adair rambles her way through her lectures. For those that learn best on their own, the text book is extremely dense and the power points that she puts on blackboard are just compilations of the figures in the book. Regardless, it's not the teacher or the book that make the class hard, it's the subject material. There's so dang much of it and it's so detailed that you could make a semester-long course out of every single chapter. Take this class if you're up for it, but otherwise consider a different upper-level bio to fill out your degree audit. If you're taking this class because you think it'll give you a leg up at a graduate-level health school like medical school, I can all but promise you that you'll forget everything you hastily memorize for this class.  - Grade In Class:B

Date: 2014-12-12

Comments:1305-H - Dr. Adair is not particularly the best lecturer, but they are very unique. In her honors biology class you will have 40 students or less, and she does a very good job at including everybody, separating the class into semester-long groups for simple group projects, each member having a specific role (i.e. presenter, data collector, etc). She employs many sources within her teaching, and occasionally misses a few key concepts in her lectures. When asked for help she often seems confused initially and is not the best at helping one-on-one unless the problem is very well dictated to her. As for her character, she is very genuine and truly wants her students to succeed, and will insist you come to her office hours if you made less than a B on a test. You can tell that she has your well-being in mind and is very friendly and an all-around kind person. Also, her clicker points are bonus points at the end of the semester. Keep up with masteringbiology homework, study and contribute and you can make your A.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1305 - Dr. Adair is a great teacher. She is not the most interesting. However, I never fell asleep in her class and I had her at 9 am. You will definitely learn the material. Her tests are very comprehensive, yet still very fair. If you study hard you will do fine and know the material well. I studied three hours the night before before each test and did great in her class. Also, clicker questions are extra credit, so that helps. As long as you put enough work into the class you will do fine. You can also tell that she enjoys the subject, which helps.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1305 - Adair's intro bio class is not entertaining, but you know what you're getting. The MasteringBio homework and tests are taken exactly from the book, so don't bother paying attention to lectures. Take good notes on the book and her tests won't be difficult. There are 4 tests each counting for 20% of your grade with your lowest score dropped. The great thing about Adair is that she wants students to succeed, is availible for office hours, and actually is excited when students do well (other profs are determined to weed you out). Our class average for tests were significantly higher than others. Take Adair, there's no reason not to.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2013-11-19

Comments:1305 - Dr. Adair is an extremely boring teacher. It is very easy to lose your attention in her class. She isn't very good at explaining concepts if you don't understand them in class. I went to her office to ask her some questions and I left just as confused as I was in class. She explains concepts the exact same way every time, so if you don't understand it the first time, then you won't understand it the second. Her homework load isn't bad; It's an easy way to keep your grade up.  - Grade In Class:B+

Date: 2013-08-02

Comments:Bio 1305 - Dr. Adair was extremely boring and monotonous. Paying attention was truly a struggle everyday. Lucky for you, her tests and MasteringBio assignments are based completely out of the book, so if you can read, you can do well. She uses this clicker thing to ask questions during lecture which, at the end of the year, act as a weighted 3% bonus on your average (which is really nice considering her questions are easy). Tests were just 50 multiple choice questions and all of the materiel is right from the book, so not too difficult. She throws in a few random application questions talking about random scientific articles, which is slightly obnoxious, but whatever. As far as intro bio professors go, she is worth taking over most others.  - Grade In Class:B+

Comments:1305 - Let me start off by saying Dr. Adair is a very nice lady and she obviously loves Biology. With that said, she can't teach too well. If you're okay with doing all the Mastering and paying much more attention to the book than to her, you should get at least a B. SI is reasonably helpful, but only if you read the book carefully. Don't ever forget your clicker - those bonus points bumped me up from a B+ to an A at the end of the semester. I seriously hated that I could study really hard for her tests and only get a B, but I suppose you can't complain when you end up with an A in the class. Still: if you have a better option, take it.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1305 - I adore Dr. Adair. She is a professor who is truly passionate about what she teaches and she really does care about her students. Biology can be a hard subject, but learning how to approach this class helps A LOT. I hadn't had bio since my freshman year in high school, took the first test and got an 84. After this, I learned not to focus on her lecture, but to read the book and study the mastering biology homework before class. SI was a huge relief too. The study material I used for tests consisted of SI worksheets, mastering bio reviews, and reading the book. Adair's lectures are very informative if you know what she is talking about, so read the book ahead of time. She lectures at her level, so it can be hard to understand all of the terms she uses, but just read read read and you'll make it. I ended up with a 97 in the class. You'll be alright  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1305 - First off, let me start by saying that Dr. Adair is NOT a terrible professor, contrary to what many say and believe. This class is challenging, so do not expect to do well if you don't read, or don't take the slightest bit of interest in this class. There are clicker questions, which at the end, are added to your final grade, many people get around 2.5 or higher added (highest is 3.0) . They are frustrating if you get them wrong, but don't fuss; they don't count against you. She also has a few quizzes here and there, but READ for them. She usually announces when there will be one so they don't sneak up on you. There's masteringbio which is not difficult (you can usually google the answers and find the correct ones) and its worth 15% of your grade. Her tests are not difficult either, but let me also say that they are not word per word definition questions from the book. They are each 50 questions (with the exception of the final which is 100 and the genetics test which was about 30 something) and are all multiple choice. She drops the lowest one too which is pretty helpful. Let me also say that you pretty much teach yourself, as you would in many other college classes. Dr. Adair simply goes over what you should have read and elaborates a little more on it. She is not a bad teacher and your grade in your class reflects the way you work for it, not the way she teaches. If you ever need help, or are struggling on any concepts, SI is usually very helpful and the SI is an extremely efficient one, too. All in all Dr. Adair does not deliver any surprises on tests, etc., and is a very fair professor who absolutely enjoys what she does. I would recommend her to anyone taking bio. I came in with 0 knowledge about biology and I'm leaving this class with a lot after taking her. Hope this helps!  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1305 - Dr. Adair knows the material she's supposed to be teaching, but I felt that she simply could not present it in a way interesting enough for me to get anything out of going to class. All you have to do is read the chapter sections, take notes to study for the tests, and do the masteringbiology assignments online. You really shouldn't even have to go to class with the way she teaches. Also, the masteringbiology and her tests can be very annoying. This is because you can read the whole section diligently and take good notes, but the assignment or test will still have a question about some obscure little sidenote that you didn't even see in the section. These are things you actually have to hunt down in the book to see that she's not asking about uncovered material. So make sure to read and take notes on anything that seems really specific in her assignments and reading.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1105 - Ohhh Dr. Adair. She is an interesting woman. She spent a large portion of the first few weeks of class discussing her thoughts on teaching and learning methods, leaving the students sitting there wondering when she was actually going to teach anything! Her slides and lectures are pretty much in line with the book, which was nice. I read the chapters religiously before class and took detailed reading notes, that way I could not really pay attention in class and still know the info. She does annoying partner/group projects that are not applicable to the material at all. She uses the clickers during class, so you have to be there to get attendance credit and you have to answer questions to get a participation grade. She has some weird extra credit system where you can get a few points on your final grade based on the clicker questions. Everyone talks about the answers, so it's not too hard to get a 100. There is Mastering Bio online, which is time consuming but actually helpful. You can usually google search the questions to get the correct answer. The tests were fair. I reread the chapters and my personal notes for the tests and felt pretty prepared. She drops one test grade, which is cool (especially if you're like me and oversleep and miss one of the tests...). There are occassional in-class quizzes or assignments due. Overall, I don't really understand why this is considered a "weed-out" class. Nothing was too complicated. I found Dr. Adair to be rather boring and I thought she tried to baby the students. But, she was accessible and encouraged students to come to office hours. I found that reading the book was a better teacher, and doing so got me an A.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2012-06-06

Comments:1306 - I have no doubt that she's a nice lady but if I could give a comment to myself like a semester ago, I would yell to myself to avoid her. Yes, you can get helps when you go to her office before or after exams but her office hours are not that long. She fairly answers any emails because you have to be on her good side to get a friendly email. Attend every classes and try to be nice to her..and you sure need to read before the classes all the time to follow up her lectures. She always talks about the BROAD SENSE of Biology, but her exams are the tiny bit of details mentioned in the text book. I'd rather focus on the textbooks than her lectures.  - Grade In Class:B

Date: 2012-05-29

Comments:1305 - She's a nice, smart lady, but her teaching style kind of lacks. It's pretty broad in class, but the exams are very specific and you can't just memorize things- you have to know how to apply it all. She's very nice if you go to her office hours. I highly recommend going any time you need help and after every exam. I'm glad I had her for bio.  - Grade In Class:B

Date: 2012-04-03

Comments:1305 - Im sure that she's a nice lady but not a great teacher. She knows what she's teaching but does not know how to teach her knowledge to her students. Her class is mainly about the big picture of the material you should know for the exams, but when you actually take the exam, you will be quite surprised to see how detailed her questions are. It is fairly not necessary to pay attention during class because all you have to do is read the textbook thoroughly rather than actively listening to her 'big picture' lectures which is posted on blackboard. She does not give that much assignments but it is necessary to attend all classes because those clicker points you earn helps a lot to raise up your grade. If you are not that good at biology, i wouldn't recommend her that much  - Grade In Class:B

Comments:Bio 1305 - Easy class. four tests worth 20% each with the lowest test dropped. Mastering biology worth 15%, projects/quizzes worth 10%, and a 15% final... Adair is a fairly interesting teacher and is very knowledgeable. The projects/homework is annoying but can help to raise your grade. Read and learn the book and don't worry about taking notes in class. Anything on the tests will be covered in the book, but some questions on the test may not be covered in her lectures. If you spend the time to read/learn the book you shouldn't have a problem making an A. Her T.A. is very helpful as well.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2011-12-19

Comments:1305 - Dr. Adair is the best teacher I've had at Baylor so far! She is really enthusiastic about the subject, which actually makes you excited to learn. There were four unit test and a final. She drops the lowest unit test though. A Masteringbiology assignment was due before every class. It takes up a lot of time, but it counts as 15% of your grade so I suggest you take it seriously. The tests are not very difficult, but they are challenging. They require you to apply what you already know to real-life scenarios. The tests are all multiple choice. Dr. Adair made class incredibly entertaining. She brought random toys to class everyday and she would throw them at students when they got the clicker questions right. This was definitely one of my favorite classes. I highly recommend her!  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2011-12-12

Comments:1305 - Dr. Adair is a good professor who definitely knows what she is talking about but her class is extremely challenging. The first test was pretty easy but then they got steadily more difficult and my grades went progressively down. She uses a clicker in class which accounts for a max of 3 points for an "earned curve" at the end of the semester. One test grade is dropped and she gives assignments on MasteringBio which really feel like a waste of time. She's intelligent and helpful but to do well you need to study the textbook at least an hour every day unless you are just amazing at Biology. I wouldn't recommend taking her if you want to keep a 4.0 GPA.  - Grade In Class:B

Date: 2011-12-03

Comments:1305 - Dr. Adair doesn't have the greatest teaching ability, but she sure does make it easy to make a good grade. She drops the lowest of your four regular exams, and her final exam is actually weighted less than the other exams. (Best three of the first four exams: 20% of your final grade each. Final exam: 15% of final grade.) With MasteringBiology at 15% and easy daily grades at 10%, a FOURTH of your whole grade is easy points. And to top it all off, you can earn up to three points on your final grade from answering questions in class with your clicker. You'll need to get pretty friendly with your textbook and go to SI if you want to actually learn something from this class and do well on her tests. Dr. Adair tends to go off on tangents in her rather boring lectures (If you bring your laptop to class like I did, you will become a MASTER of solitaire). If you took AP Bio in high school, this will be your easiest class of the semester. However, even if you didn't, this should still be an easy grade. Just don't expect to learn much from it.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2011-11-17

Comments:1305 - Dr. Adair is a very intelligent person. Probably one of the smartest professors at Baylor I've met thus far. HOWEVER, the amount of work involved to understand her lectures is almost counterintuitive. Consequently, class discussions are enjoyable because she is very lively and very enthusiastic, but with that enthusiasim, she can trail on about extra knowledge of the material that is NOT covered anywhere in the book or lecture. The 2 projects are easy, so be sure to take your time and be diligent. It pays off in the grade and in your absorption of the material. This class is just very tricky. Note taking OF WHAT SHE SAYS AND NOT ON THE POWERPOINT is crucial. The powerpoint is much appreciated, but the clarification comes in the bullets of her lecture. I have A's in all my classes as a first year student except this one. This class is definitely pushing your abilities in studying. The online assignments are helpful, yet tedious (notably, the rewiews before each test, which are not completely conducive to the actually mc test). For me, the questions she gave felt like a statisics test--on the review and on the test itself. If I were you, use STUDY BLUE-- an online resource for making notecards and your own quizzes. It really helped me out.  - Grade In Class:B

Comments:1305 - No no no no no no no. Absolutely not. If you sign up for this class, prepare to be your own teacher. She\'s relatively ineffective when it comes to answering student\'s questions. Also, despite the fact you could skip every single class and still do pretty decent, don\'t because she\'ll randomly assign in class projects and not post them where they\'re not easy to find on blackboard. And those homework or in class assignments are worth 10%. She\'s intelligent, knows her stuff, but cannot teach it. Just..... don\'t take this class.  - Grade In Class:B

Comments:1305 - Easiest class so far here at Baylor. Idk why people are complaining about this great teacher. The people that are complaining are probably the people that thought they enrolled in a high school course. I did not take ap bio in hs nor did I study 10 hours a day to obtain an A in this class. You will have to read the book for EVERY bio class if you want to do well. The tests were extremely easy. The power points and her lectures are designed to reinforce what you were supposed to learn while reading. Her test do not ask for minuscule detail. She stresses the big picture and that is what she tests on. Dr.Adair is a really helpful instructor. She wont make u feel stupid and will answer all your questions. But people be reasonable if u have alot of questions go see her during her office hours dont keep asking question after question it just slows down the lecture and we consequently cover less material. She is passionate about her subject and you can tell by her facial expressions that she likes teaching it I got an A with out including the clicker points. The units reviews are lengthy but prepare you well for the test. My best advise for this class is to take notes while reading(NOTES do no just simply copy the book) and during her lecture, do the homework and a day or two before the test read your notes and you will THRIVE. Once again I was able to get an A in the class with out ap bio and with out ten hours of study. I highly recommend her.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:Bio 1405/1406 - She is a terrible teacher. Has awful office hours. She is a really smart lady, and probably a great teacher for upper level students, that is about as positive as I get. She makes you feel like an idiot if you ask a question, makes inappropriate comments and remarks, and her powerpoints (ALL OF CLASS TIME) consist of pictures, websites, external links and videos, that she finds 'interesting.' She doesn't review for the test. She does put out a study guide - don't do it. It completely misleads you and she tests over miniscule details, but she stresses the BIG PICTURE. Example guide question: Describe the process in which a mitochondrial cell is made. Easy. Just do a flowchart. Test question: What kind of ligate formed the proteobacteria, or the precursor of mitochondria. She is just completely ridiculous. Yes, I got a B+. But, I had to sacrifice going home over holidays to see my family, because her tests are scheduled to perfectly conflict with everyone else's and any free weekends you have. DON'T TAKE HER. Or, you'll be miserable and call home every week, like me, saying how horrid she is.  - Grade In Class:B+

Comments:1305 - I worked harder in this class than I have working in any class before. Her online homework takes a VERY long time and does not prepare you for the tests at all. Her extra credit was easy but not worth it once she told us how little it was worth. She tests on useless details (like a diameter of a certain organelle) that you think you should skip when you are studying and other extremely in depth details. She occasionally will add a broad question, but those are few and far between. LUCKILY, she has TONS of in class questions that add points directly to your grade. These extra points raised my grade by NINE points. If you don't mind studying forever, take her. Otherwise, take someone else.  - Grade In Class:B

Date: 2011-04-10

Comments:1305 - DON'T TAKE ADAIR. There really was not a whole lot of outside work to turn in for Adair's class but her tests were ridiculous. She likes to word her questions in an extremely convoluted way so that even if you know the answer, the questions can trip you up. I can whole-heartedly say that I put 100% into this class and if I had a different professor I would have made an A+ since I studied for at least 2 hours a day for this class last semester with study groups and on my own. Also, her SI is not very helpful.  - Grade In Class:C+

Comments:Bio 1306 - If you think Adair is bad, try Eldridge or Rushing where you are actually required to know the material, and you cannot rely on a 10 point final curve to fix your grade. To simplify: if you need a Bio credit, take Adair. If you want to be a Doctor, do not take Adair. Unless you want to do surgery on plants... Then taking her for Bio 2 may be helpful, as this is what she focuses on the entire semester.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:BIO 1405 - Her lectures are a little bit random, but she's great in the lab and really passionate about the subject matter. As long as you do the BioPortal work and read before lecture, you'll be fine and her lectures will come together much better  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:Bio 1305 - Prepare to put A LOT of hours into studying. Start looking for a tutor now if you didn't take AP Biology in High School. She is tough! Get a calender and write down ALL the due dates now! bioportal due dates can sneek up on you. and make sure not to miss any either because they DO count as a grade in the end. Good Luck!  - Grade In Class:D

Comments:1405 - Adair is smart. But she can't teach. Her lectures were mostly her hitting on random points and showing us things she thought to be "interesting". There's no structure to her lectures and the powerpoints are pretty much just pictures and diagrams from the book. She gets realllly excited about everything, and obviously knows her stuff, but she can't dumb it down, and can be rude if you don't understand. If you haven't read the book before you get to class, you won't understand. You basically have to teach yourself out of the book. There's 4 tests (she drops the lowest) and final. Plus a few quizzes and the bioportal assignments. The "earned curve" ended up being a max of 2 points for my class. Apparently she's cut way back on it since last year. It's not an impossible class, but I would avoid it. There are plenty of better bio profs.  - Grade In Class:B

Comments:1305 - The only reason I got an A in this class is because I literally studied for at least 10 hrs the day before I took it and she adds the clicker points directly to your average. She doesn't respond to emails, and it is beyond frustratingly annoying. If you get stuck in this class, I truly apologize. Find a tutor.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1305&1306 - I took Dr. Adair for both intro semesters and I didn't regret it...I don't know why her ratings are so low! She uses an in-class clicker system which kept me engaged and you get an earned curve based on participation and how many you get right. For some perspective: Answer every question and that's 5 points to you semester grade, and based on how many correct you could get up to 10...a whole letter grade! I don't remember any curves on my tests but they are all MC and only a few are heavy application. She's really friendly and wants you to learn and get interested in the material. I took AP in high school with the exact same textbook so it was a breeze, but if I hadn't (based on what I know of other profs) I would still take her!   - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1305/1306 - Dr. Adair has a unique teaching style she says what she wants to and it may or may not show up on her tests. Just read the textbook and you will do as good as it gets.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2010-08-25

Comments:1306 - I dont care what anyone says, Dr Adair is not hard, at all. If you just print out the powerpoints, read the chapters and thorougly understand what you are reading you are golden. The test questions are application problems but if you use logical thinking and common sense you will do fine. The clicker points almost guarantee an A, so make sure to go to class prepared and pay attention! I definitely recommend Dr Adair!  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1306 - Prof. Adair is a pretty interesting prof. to take... shes really enthusiastic about environment and says "isnt that interesting?" a lot. in addition she likes to create little things to do outside of class here and there to try and understand the material that do not help with the tests at all. Her tests are just terrible since she words everything really strangely and makes it sound confusing when its a really simple answer. she always posts powerpoints late (like next day) so dont expect to go to class with the powerpoint in front of you because chances are she'll post them about 5 min. before class starts. Altogether she was an OK bio professor but i wouldnt take her again.   - Grade In Class:B

Date: 2010-05-13

Comments:1305 - Bio is a hard course, but Adair made it pretty interesting. She's much more tolerable than the other profs in the bio department. Really loves what she does and great with office hours. If your degree requires bio, then you shouldn't be scared of a little hard work.  - Grade In Class:B

Date: 2010-05-10

Comments:1306 - Dr. Adair is very interested in biology. She is NOT EASY. Her tests are only 50 questions and the questions are really detailed and random. It was really hard to study for her tests. The only good thing about her class was clicker points. She also requires MasteringBio and random article assigments. The only reason I made an A was the clicker points. I didn't make any A's on the tests or final, but still ended with an A in the class.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2010-05-08

Comments:1306 - I got stuck with this woman for the second semester in a row. I guess if you can't get into Harvill's class she's the best there is to choose from. But the tests were all pretty hard. They're all random and tricky because they're so strangely worded. Her clicker points help, but I would never take her again for any class. She doesn't teach anything and is by far one of the worst professors I've had at Baylor. This class was very challenging, and I can't say that I learned anything at all about biology.   - Grade In Class:B

Date: 2010-05-08

Comments:1307 - This woman is cray. Don't pay attention to the lectures, its pointless, you are tested over random facts from the book that are never covered in class. I learned nothing the entire semester, she will spend half of the class talking about random pictures of animals and how "pretty" they are. If you do end up with her just study the review that the SI emails out, its basically the exams.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2010-05-04

Comments:1305 - No matter what bio class you take you have to put work into it, or you will not do well. Adair was a good treacher and I am taking her again. Read the assignment efore class if you can and her slides will help you to understand the concepts in the text. Her four test are a measure of your understanding, you can't just memorize defintions, you have to understand the overall picture. I spent 6-8 hours a week studying on my own and doing Mastering Bio. My final grade was a 100%. You grade will depend on your effort.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1305 - Adair is a really nice professor, its just the course is very hard. The clicker points deff. help. Her tests are mostly application questions so you really have to understand the information.   - Grade In Class:B

Comments:1306 - dr. Adair is a sweet lady. she tries her best to thoroughly explain everything and offers homework grades which really help. there is no way around Bio's difficulty but she was definitely a good teacher  - Grade In Class:B

Date: 2009-12-14

Comments:1305 - Although Adair is not that great of a teacher and is probably not that helpful, her tests are fair and only cover material from the book. You will have to learn almost all of the material on your own, but it really is not that bad. There is also a 10% curve to your final grade, and she drops your lowest test grade. She will not curve at all, but you shouldn't need it with the crazy curve she has. If you know anything about Biology or enjoy learning the material on your own, take Adair. If you like to take good notes and learn from the lecture, take someone else.   - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2009-12-14

Comments:1305 - She's pretty horrible at teaching. Her powerpoints have nothing to do with what's on her tests, which are super difficult. She overcomplicates the material on the exams. The questions are all really detailed and weirdly worded. The mastering bio and clicker points will save your grade though. I don't know why so many people struggled with the mastering bio. The answer key is online. All you have to do is search for it on Google. Not the best professor, but I would recommend her over Rushing or Eldridge forsure  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2009-12-10

Comments:1302 - Adair is a very nice lady...her clicker points save your life...but at the same time she only gives you clicker points because her tests are way harder than the rest of the department...a lot of my friends who took her for the first semester took her again for bio 2 and did alot better...just because her tests are an acquired taste i guess...i had a 79.44 after the final and had emailed her to see if she would bump me up...she didnt, so dont expect a handout IF youre a guy...trust me she favors girls bio is a weed out class at baylor SO you have to do all the work...partner up on the mastering bio, so you dont lose points on that. study a few days in advance for her tests....and try to sit with smart kids in class so you can ask them for help with the clicker questions.  - Grade In Class:C+

Date: 2009-12-10

Comments:1305 - Very good prof, She is very understanding for whatever you ask her, and she will go over a topic until every student understands her material. just make sure you pay attention in class, do Mastering BIO, and study hard for the tests and youre gonna do fine. I would have had a better grade had i not had surgery right before semester started.  - Grade In Class:B

Date: 2009-11-29

Comments:BIO 1305 - I think it's hard to not make an A in this class. She adds up to 10 points to your final grade and most people will get 8-9 of those points...so you can make an 81 and get an A in the class. She is extremely passionate about what she does and really goes out of her way to meet with students and make sure all of their concerns are addressed. Her power points are pretty useless though...you have to read your book to do well on the tests. The book for this class is really good though. You will learn a lot if you put an effort in.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1305 - She is an okay professor. Definetely Better than eldridge or rushing!! I suggest taking Adair!! Keep up with the reading and the mastering biology, she also adds a 10% curve that really boosts your grade at the end! Take her!!  - Grade In Class:C+

Comments:1306 - She loves monkeys. Like seriously. And she loves transciption/translation. If you are really premed, (like not gonna get weeded-out), take time and really learn the stuff, don't just use her crazy curve to get an A. Learn transcription and translation bc it will help in genetics and on the mcat. Go to class, read the book, do your homework. Even though you can goof off and get an A.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2009-05-12

Comments:1306 - Dr. Adair is probably one of the easiest 1306 profs there are. Dr. Elderidge probably is better. But oh well. She really likes biology and genetics, don't get me wrong, but its hard for her to relate to the students. She has this dreamlike soft voice and I just wanted to go to sleep. I got nothing from her lectures, it's a basically, teach-yourself course. She gives 4 tests, all random questioned and weirdly phrased, but she drops your lowest test grade. The final is comprehensive. I havn't taken it yet but I've heard its killer. The clicker points save you!! they're added to your test average, so they can raise your grade by a letter. So go to class just for the attendance and clicker points. Mastering bio- yes everyone hates it and its SO timeconsuming, but I've failed 3/4 of her tests but have an A mastering biology average and even if i get a 30 on the final, I'll keep my B. :) Take Dr. Adair!  - Grade In Class:B

Date: 2009-05-04

Comments:1305 - Her classes are VERY boring and hard to stay awake in. She gives four multiple-choice exams and drops one. She likes to throw a lot of random questions on the exams and pulls the majority of questions from the book and not her lectures. She gives quizzes throughout the class, so you have to stay awake and pay attention if you want to answer correctly. At the end of the semester, she adds the "clicker points" as she calls them, to your average (max is ten pts)  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2009-04-10

Comments:1305 - Dr. Adair is a really nice professor with really tough tests. I tried really hard to do well on all her tests studying 2 weeks before each exam, but I still never was able to make an "A" on a test. Even though she is passionate about what she does and really tries to help the students understand, I thought that the tests were too detailed and one would have needed to have a lot of background in Biology in order to excel in her class. The 10 extra credit points is the only reason I got a B in her class. Other than that, she is a really cool teacher if your passion is biology and if you have a strong foundation in the subject.   - Grade In Class:B

Date: 2009-01-12

Comments:1305 - Dr. Adair is really passionate about Biology and that definitely made the class more enjoyable. She uses mastering biology for homework. Sometimes the masteringbio homework was helpful but the majority of the time it was not. We virtually had no other homework except the masteringbio. Tests in Dr. Adair's class were pretty tricky. To do well on the tests you must understand the material and not just memorize it because she asks many application questions. The tests were always multiple choice and usually about 50 questions. In her class we used clickers to answer questions and take our tests. She gives a curve if you answer every question in class. I received 8 points on my final grade because of clicker questions. Attending class is very important because it is so easy to get lost if you are not there for the lecture.  - Grade In Class:B

Date: 2008-12-28

Comments:4401 - This class was tough. I guess it was her first time teaching it. She knows a lot about the topic but trying to explain the material was hard to follow. This class REQUIRES you to read the book over and over again beacause there is a lot to know. The tests are multiple choice with an extra credit fill in the blank sheet.   - Grade In Class:B

Date: 2008-12-18

Comments:1305 - The class is boring. The Mastering Biology is very time consuming. The grading system is very confusing. The 10 point curve is great! However, I did not enjoy the class and recommend if you are taking a lot of classes like I was (8 to be exact) go the other direction.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2008-12-13

Comments:1305 - Take Dr. Adair! Her lectures don't really do much for you, but there is enough easy extra credit opportunities that you can still easily make a B. I never did much studying except for reading and taking notes, then doing practice quizzes before the tests. I got B's on every test, but with the 10 point earned curve, that's all I needed. She is very helpful outside of class and will go over any old tests with you. Mastering bio (online homework) got annoying, but it's an easy grade booster.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1306 - I took Adair for 1305 and 1306, and I had a very different experience in 1306. I recommended her to a lot of friends after acing 1305, but 1306 was not fun. Granted, that is due in large part to the fact that I could care less about most of the material covered in the class, since I don't want to be an ecologist or a geneticist. To do well, you need to do the reading assignments and USE THE CD OR LIFEWIRE. The CD was somewhat less helpful in 1306 than it was in 1305, but it was still a big help. Taking notes in class is pointless; her lectures have little to nothing to do with the tests. You do want to at least skim the readings beforehand though, as the clicker points are important. I did all the reading for the units in the 2-3 days before the exams, and got A's on all of them, but I obviously wouldn't suggest this as a modus operandi. 1106 lab is about 5x harder than this class, so enjoy!  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2008-06-29

Comments:1306 - This class was horrible. Do not take it at 8 in the morning. You will fall asleep. One time we had a class quiz and the majority of the class got the answer wrong and she laughed. The tests are very hard. The only good thing about the class is the clicker points. You have questions every day and if you get them right you get a point. If you get them all right then it is a ten point bonus. They are easy questions, so you will most likely get all ten points.   - Grade In Class:C

Date: 2008-05-14

Comments:1305 - She's a great professor, though the lectures are boring at times. The clicker questions are just to make sure you're listening and for attendance. The 10 points to your final grade, and yes I said final grade, really helps if you're present all the time. Use the cd given with the biology book because it really does prepare you for the tests.   - Grade In Class:C

Comments:1305/1306 - Likewise, I liked 1305 very much with Mrs. Adair. There is a total of four tests worth 55%, the lowest gets dropped and replaced with your final if you scored higher on it. The final itself is worth 35% (100 question, 2/3 comprehensive + 1/3 final). You also receive an extra 10% bonus for answering all the questions right on her daily cps clicker that she gives. The maximum you can make in this is probably a 110%. The workload, however, is unbearable as it requires you constantly read and keep up with almost every single day! About 95% is self taught so do not depend on solely listening to her lectures and notes to pass her exams. Her tests comes straight from the book and she assigns a lot of reading. This and the fact that sometimes her reading assignments are scattered and not related to one another really agitates me. She covers a lot of material in a relatively short amount of time. But I made an A for her 1305 class, and that required a lot of effort and studying with the help of the 10% bonus (that I had to earn). Tips to do well in her class: + Read the required reading before entering her class so you can answer all the cps questions + Print her powerpoint that she posts up 1-2 hour before each class, and follow along in class to take notes. + Or. Follow along with the book as she lectures while taking notes. + Do not fall behind in reading schedule or you will be screwed in time for final cause theres not enough time to start reading all at the last minute (thats how I failed some of her exams for 1306) Good luck. ~ T's Review  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2008-04-18

Comments:1305 - This class is pretty easy. Her lectures give an overview of the topic, and occasionally hit small and important details. Be sure to do the reviews before every test, because they REALLY help! It is also a good idea to read the book too, especially the chapter summaries, so you understand the big concepts. Her tests are difficult, but at the end of the semester, most people get a 7 or 8 point bonus added to their final semester average, which makes up for it.   - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2008-01-24

Comments:1305 - At first it seemed somewhat difficult: Lowest test grade was C+ and highest was B+. She is a terrible lecturer but her grading system makes up for this. Just answering all the clicker questions can get u 5 points even if u answer all of them wrong. You get 5 points for perfect attendance as well. The final was a breeze, got a 95, which netted my final grade to a 99. Simply put, it's a very easy class if you know how to teach yourself the material.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2008-01-09

Comments:1305 - This class was really pretty easy. As long as you read beforehand, the daily clicker questions are no problem, and they add up to 10% of extra credit applied to your final grade. You mostly teach yourself everything you need to know out of the book. VERY occasionally, there will be something on a test that was not in the book. She probably covers a little more than half of the test material in class, so you definitely need to be motivated and put work in. The tests are not hard, but they are strange in that Dr Adair will seem to focus in on one area of the unit readings and concepts to the near exclusion of the others. Thus, you need to know everything in detail. I highly recommend this class if you want an A.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2008-01-02

Comments:1305 - Dr. Adair is a good professor, if you understand Biology going in. She does offer up to 10 pts of bonus to your final grade, determined by the clicker questions she has during lecture. If you just submit an answer to every question, you get 5 pts.I did well, but that was because I had a solid background in Biology. If you don't have a good background, she may be okay.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2007-12-28

Comments:1306 - I had Eldridge for 1305 and barely made an A. Most of the material I studied in 1305 was straight from the manual that Eldridge made students purchase which made my studying material organized and straightforward. For Adair, she gave us Thinkwells, PowerPoints, a textbook, I found it difficult to try to have to study bits and pieces from all 3 sources in order to prepare for her tests. I ended up getting an 89 which was pretty frustrating. Her tests are pretty hard and tricky but I think she's probably the "easiest" 1306 professor you can take.  - Grade In Class:B+

Comments:1306 - honestly, easiest science teacher I've ever had. She is not like the most powerful lecture Baylor has, but definitely not the worst. Adair is among one of the better profs at Baylor. If you just watch Thinkwells and answer (like really answer) the reviews she gives you before tests, you'll make an A. Just Thinkwell + her powerpoints + book (if you have time) = A  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1306 - Easiest biology class at Baylor. People say she's boring, but mitosis is boring. You can tell she really likes biology and is excited to talk about evolution and genetics. The 10 point curve at the end of the semester is nice and the attendence bonus is great too. Very easy, and pretty interesting.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1305 - Tammy tries so hard to make her students laugh, but most of the time she falls short. I always laugh because I feel bad for her. The tests aren't that easy but the extra credit from thinkwells really helps. Also, go to class, there is an attendance grade.   - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1305 - So basically, Adair is an okay teacher with above average technology helping her out. The thinkwells are incredibly boring and tend to repeat the same information over and over until you can't stand it anymore. After awhile, it gets to the point where you no longer care to watch them. There is virtually no classwork and maybe 1 or 2 small quizzes along the way, which is a plus. Tests arent too bad; entirely multiple choice but with many confusing questions. They don't cover the thinkwells at all, so if you study those, you're in trouble. If I were to retake this class, I would just read the book and then only watch the thinkwells for reinforcement on parts of the chapter I didnt understand. Oh, and do well on the final if you have an A; I lost mine to a B+ because of the final. Bottom line: Adair is no easier than any other professor, she simply is more helpful. Take her if you want, but she won't guarantee you an A, if that's what you're looking for.  - Grade In Class:B+

Comments:1305 - Dr. Adair is a great bio teacher. She incorporates modern teaching methods (thinkwells) with the departmental bio book, this way the students gets a reinforcement of biology concepts with both thinkwells and the book as well as her class lecture. Sure biology might seem boring at times. I got a C+ in another Bio class which I study 3-4 times harder than this class. so it goes to show that if you want an A and are willing to work for it. GET ADAIR!  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1306 - Dr. Adair is a great prof! Although she might get boring during class, its not her fault, the material is boring. She LOVES biology, and she has corny jokes. Getting an A isn't too hard if you have a decent background in biology. The 10 point curve from the thinkwells also helps!  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1305 - I really love Adair, she is such a sweet person!!! The class is by no means easy but who can complain when she gives out those thinkwells? She wants anyone who will put forth the effort to at least pass. And when you study for her test, don't just study one thing!!! Study the thinkwell notes, class notes, the review, the book, and make sure you understand it!!! She throws in questions on the test that test your understanding in really unique ways. I would recommend her for sure.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:Bio 1306 - I think Dr. Adair is way underrated. While her lectures can be somewhat monotone, I've heard far worse. And she makes up for it by going the extra mile to provide review sheets, powerpoint slides to print out, and extra review guides online. I made an A by going to class, doing all of the Thinkwell online quizzes, using her review sheets, and that's about all. Taking notes in class also helped. I didn't find the Thinkwell CD's all that helpful, but that's a personal preference. One thing: how many classes you miss calculates directly into your grade, so missing more than three can be a problem. Also, she hates it when you fall asleep or talk during class, so stay awake or you might get marked absent. Still, Dr. Adair's really sweet, and she's a genetics guru, so I'd try to get her for bio 1306 at least, just for the genetics if for nothing else.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1306 - Let me tell you.... Prof. Adair can not teach! She is boring and her voice is completely monotone. It sounds like she is reading a boring storytell about Biology. And because of her boring storytelling everyone slowly falls asleep one by one. The tests are hard and really detailed...can u please have some question on the tests that are str8 forward. you almost have to meditate while u take the test, tryin to figure what exactly she is asking.the questions on the test are like brainteasers. anyways i did okay in the class cause i started studing haha  - Grade In Class:B

Comments:1306 - highly dissapointing. tests included several questions which so sorely lacked for correct grammar as to make them incomprehensible. intelligence is not required for the class. do not try to learn or think. simply be able to repeat what she lectures on verbatim, and you will pass.   - Grade In Class:B+

Date: 2006-06-04

Comments:1306 - Dr. Adair is the best intro bio teacher there is - the others don't actually teach you the information they're going to test you over. Tests are all multiple choice over the class lectures, you don't really need to watch the thinkwells to answer the questions, only go back and watch them if you didn't understand something in class. And show up - you're not going to do well if you aren't there.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2006-04-30

Comments:1306 - Wow, if you can't make at least a B in this class you must not be trying. It's a BIOLOGY class, not Relaxation techniques. She teaches the information VERY well - unlike some other intro professors she doesn't purposely make her exams tricky. Go to class (duh), do the work (duh), study (duh), and you'll do well. DEFINITELY take Adair, she actually tests you over what she teaches.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2006-04-26

Comments:Intro Bio - I took this class based on recommendations from several people who stated that it was the easiest Intro Bio course...right (sarcasm). Really, Adair expects the Thinkwells to do all the teaching for us, and all she has to do is drone on and on and on (get the point?) about the stuff Thinkwell covered. In a way, it's like a double dip of Bio goodness if you like that kind of thing, but I really don't like it. Besides, the Thinkwell lecturer does a superb job at instructing/entertaining, and made me wonder why I had to get out of bed and listen to the same concepts in a real classroom. The tests were ridiculously aggravating and the final was absurd beyond belief (No amount of studying with Thinkwells matters). Take her if you want the extra 1-10 points on exams.  - Grade In Class:C

Date: 2006-01-06

Comments:BIO 1305 - DO THE THINKWELL'S is right! Dr. Adair's class is no easier than any other teacher for intro bio... The only difference is that she gives a 10 point curve to people who don't mind entering answers every other day into a computer... I should have made a better grade, I don't know why I only made a B... Just dumb I guess... lol  - Grade In Class:B

Date: 2005-12-20

Comments:1305 - All I can say is do the thinkwells! It's the only reason everyone wants to get into this class so much and it ends up adding 10 points to your grade! The 50 question multiple choice question tests aren't as easy as they sound and her teaching style puts half the class to sleep. Pretty boring but she's the best intro bio teacher.  - Grade In Class:B

Comments:Bio 1305 - I love this teacher!!! She is absolutely amazing. There is always homework, aka Thinkwells, that are extremely easy and only help your grade. They're like extra credit that can boost your semester grade by up to 10 points. She is great, I would recommend her to anyone!!!   - Grade In Class:B

Comments:1305/06 - Whoever listed the things about this class being easy LIED... don't believe the hype! The only good thing about this woman's class is the THINKWELLS because George teaches you everything... but her tests don't even really cover what is taught in the THINKWELLS... if you study the THINKWELLS rigorously you'll probably make a C (B is possibe if you are a good guesser). IF you are really concerned about learning the material and want to do well on the MCATs, then by all means... DO NOT TAKE HER!  - Grade In Class:B+

Comments:1306 - This is definately the way to go if you actually want to earn a decent grade in intro Bio. She loves what she does very much and it's obvious from the first day of class. The thinkwell quizzes are an awesome bonus and plus there's quizzes and attendance to help out your grade too. I took Eldridge for Bio1 and got a B but his tests in all honesty were about the same difficulty level of Adairs. There's always around 1 or 2 questions specifically from her lecture notes on the exam so be careful. The main difference between this and other classes is the amount of resources. Between Thinkwells, SI and lecture this class offers more than what paying to read a book gets you in the other profs classes.   - Grade In Class:B+

Comments:1306 - Easiest A I've ever made. I never watched thinkwells and never listened to her in class, because the lectures are extremely boring and everyone sleeps. I took my thinkwell quizzes very far in advance, up until the ones from the end of the semester, without even reading or watching thinkwells, and I just took them until I got a 100. Easiest extracredit I've ever done. The only thing I did to prepare for her tests was to print thinkwell notes and study those. Then I went over her power points (no need to memorize these), and I pulled A's on every test. Some people don't find her this easy though, it's just that I have good memory and can cram all the infor the night before, but most people find watching the videos helpful. I never did, they take too long and are useless, in my opinion. Just read the thinkwell notes.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:Bio 1306 - The Thinkwell really helps, and all I do to study for tests is fill out the review she gives us. As long as you're not lazy with the daily work, which is blow-off, and are slightly prepared when she warns of an upcoming quiz, you'll pull an A. The only problem is that she is not very on-track with the harder professors; not good preparation for Pre-Med students, except for the genetics part. She loves genetics. Good lecturer, very easy to understand. She posts everything online, so no note taking!! Best Bio teacher!  - Grade In Class:B+

Comments:MICRO - Micro is a lot of info despite the professor, so I can't be too tough on Adair. She isn't the best lecturer though and her tests were too tough. The class average for them was an F almost every time. Best option for micro is take it over the summer so you can give it the attention that it requires. Wonderful course and Adair was a wonderful person, but tough course and tough prof.  - Grade In Class:C

Comments:BIO 1105 - She tries to get the general concepts across in class, but sometimes fails. Also her test are terribly hard. However, her saving grace is ThinkWells. DO THOSE! They are the only reason I got an A. Also, she really does care about the students and if they are learning.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2005-01-12

Comments:BIO 1305 - Without a doubt one of the worst lecturers I've had. Her lectures are completely useless as far as I'm concerned. The ThinkWells taught me more than she ever could have. She is definitely not the easy A that everybody says she is, even with the bonus points.   - Grade In Class:F

Date: 2004-12-28

Comments:1305 - I took her class because everyone told me how easy she. WARNING!!! She is NOT THAT easy! If you can learn from someone who just reads slides all day then you should do okay, but the tests are a little tricky (our class avg was failing for two of her exams)!!  - Grade In Class:C

Comments:BIO 1 - Lots of extra credit...fairly informative class...definately the way to go if you plan on getting an A without studying too terribly much.   - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1306 - She is not the best lecturer and dispite what many people will tell you, she is not an easy A. The lectures are made up of powerpoints that seem to never end. She has a quiet voice that makes you want to take a nice nap in the middle of class and quite honestly, you won't miss much. She's an incredibly nice lady and is always willing to help, but she is not the best teacher in the world. You must do thinkwells every day that become very annoying after a while. She also gives you about 5 other assignments to do throughout the semester that are fairly easy, but take much more time then they are worth point value-wise. You must know the material very well to do well on the tests, but she gives so many bonus points that making a B is not very difficult. If you watch the thinkwells and are a good studier, you should be fine.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:BIO 1306 - I didn't gain much from the lectures, her powerpoint style did not work well with me. It is the SI's that really helped me. Also, it is crucial to not only do the Thinkwells, but study the study notes. The workload is okay, except for the assignments (about 4) that just take a lot of time to complete, and are not necessarily significantly related to course work. Regardless of what people say, this class can really prepare you for the MCAT, and other classes like Genetics as long as you use your time in understanding the material (i.e. SI's and Thinkwells). The multiple choice exams are easy enough for one to be able to detect the right answers but they can be tricky sometimes, and good test taking skills is necessary.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1306 - I absolutely cannot stand a teacher who does not know how to lecture. Adair is one of them. The class is horribly non-stimulating. If anything she has made me hate biology. Oh and if you go into her final with an A make sure you get at least a B on the final. I'm so overjoyed to say I lost my A to a B+ after her final.Oh and the other test would be ok, if she'd teach better and get an actual text book rather than those annoying thinkwells. I'd rather take Eldridge 30 times more than ever take her again!  - Grade In Class:B+

Comments:1305 - It's sad that I am making a C in this class. Dr. Adair's lectures are very boring, but go and talk to her because she is very helpful. MAKE SURE YOU KEEP UP WITH THINKWELL! The guy gets SO annoying, but that is what screwed me over for this class. Also go to SI because that is just more help for you. Plus, a 10 point curve isn't all that shabby!  - Grade In Class:C

Date: 2004-05-10

Comments:1305 - I love Adair! You get to use THinkwells and if you take the online quizzes you can earn a 10 point curve on your overall grade! THe thinkwell videos help you learn th ematerial well, unlike some of the books! If you have to take bio...dont take anyone else! Adairs class was definately my easiest last semester...but i did take AP bio in high school!  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2004-05-03

Comments:1305/1306 - She may not be the best lecturer...but hey have a study hall. Just do the online quizzes (can take them until u get a 100 - and if u get it wrong the first time the answer is shown) to get 10 extra credit points. Don't bother to listen to the CD-ROM - just print off the lecture summary sheets from the website and do her study guide...you'll make an A without daily effort.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2004-05-02

Comments:1305/6 - Not a bad class. Often fall asleep in class because she turns out the lights. She has a habit of rambling about a topic, but very energetic. Do your THINKWELLS. Great way to boost your grade. There are 2 article assignments that are easy. Tests can be difficult. Don't wait til the last minute to study. Go to SI.  - Grade In Class:B

Comments:BIO - She is a very nice prof, who seems to genuinly care about her students. I started off the semester great and did all of the homework, as you can tell by my grade, I started slacking off. I found out BIO wasn't my thing anyways, but if its your thing, take Adair.  - Grade In Class:C

Date: 2004-03-24

Comments:BIO 1305 - Like any class, you get out of it what you want. Despite popular belief, you really do learn a lot from this class if you work hard at it. Lectures are easy to follow if you know the material. She does her best to try to get you to understand the material. Tests were tricky at times, but not impossible.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1305 - Easy A if you pay any attention and do your thinkwells...lectures are somewhat boring though  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1305 - Dr. Adair is the BEST!!! I don't know what everyone is talking about saying that she doesn't know how to answer questions. Every question I had in her class, she either answered or found the answer for me the next class lecture. I highly encourage everyone to take her class. Her tests are not hard and if you pay attention and do your thinkwells, you'll do GREAT! Tests are mostly over lecture notes, but you do need to watch the thinkwells and have them under your belts in order for the lectures to fall together easily. *Bonus* Doing thinkwells gives you an extra 10pnts to your final average.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1305 - If you enjoy watching hours of video instead of reading take her... her tests come from lectures and thinkwell. gives easy extra credit and is a nice professor, but hard to pay attention in class...zzzzzz.  - Grade In Class:B

Comments:bio 1 - okay so lemme start by saying that she is not the easiest bio teacher at baylor, all she does is lecture and she can't even do that right. nIs is a real challenge to stay awake in her class and thinkwells o have fun doing thoosE! they take forever and the tests don't even cover any of the think well material..in order to do good in her class you have to stay awake during her lectures!! goodluck!!  - Grade In Class:C+

Date: 2003-11-23

Comments:1304 - She is very kind!! The class average for each test is around 70s. You just have to do the thinkwell, no absences, do the articles. You will be fine! She is really nice!!  - Grade In Class:B+

Date: 2003-11-14

Comments:BIO 1305 - Class is not bad, but go to SI and study well for the tests. The tests could be tricky, and not too easy.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2003-11-14

Comments:1305 - Lectures are very boring, but informative. I always fall asleep (by accident) because of her quiet voice. Tests are moderately difficult, but there is extra credit. Just do the Thinkwells, buy a real book (Mader) and study hard for tests. Tests are about the only thing difficult in this class. At times she's pretty humorous; it adds a little variety in the lecture.  - Grade In Class:C

Date: 2003-11-13

Comments:BIO 1305 - Don't be deceived. Adair is helpful, but not super easy. What makes her class "easy" is that she gives opportunities for extra credit and points. You will still have to put in your time. As a professor she is very knowledgeable, and her main concern is that you understand the material. However, her lectures are boring, and she's not the greatest at answering questions. But she is kind.   - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2003-11-06

Comments:1305 - Here's the deal: The textbook is on CD-ROM, and you have to read (watch 3 or 4 10-minute videos) before coming to class (because online reading quizzes are due before class). So, everything you learn is from watching the little videos because she teaches nothing during class. Her lectures are just a disorganized, confusing version of the reading assignments. She is not very good at answering questions. But the last straw for me was when she started giving us COLORING assignments. Does she think we're in elementary school??? I really resented this. But, she's probably the easiest teacher; the tests were really easy, and the final was really, really easy. So if you don't mind being bored out of your mind in order to get an A, then this is the class for you.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:Take her if you want a good grade. Maybe one of the easier BIO prof\'s you\'ll have. You won\'t learn that much though. I took her for 1306 and it wasn\'t too shabby.

Comments:i liked her. she gives sooo much EASY extra credit. however, the little assignments are annoying and i hated how she randomly picks people to answer questions during class. (especially annoying to people like me who don't pay attention during class until she calls my name out in front of everyone, lol). i recommend her, though. she's probably the easiest bio teacher at baylor.

Comments:Her lectures where boring considering if you did the thinkwells before class you know the material. The 10 extra credit points are helpful, but you still need to study. Not as easy as most say.

Comments:I didn't think Dr. Adair was a good teacher at all. You learn biology in her class by watching thinkwell (or reading a book if you choose). Her tests are not too hard if you study and watch all the thinkwell videos, and the 10 points from thinkwell can really help your grade. She is a very nice lady, but you will get absolutely NOTHING from her lectures. If you don't have a problem with learning on your own and you just want a good grade, Dr. Adair is definitely for you.

Comments:I've had Adair for two semesters now, and she gets more annoying as the days pass. The Thinkwell points are nice, but the test are difficult and the questions random. You have to know all of the material frontwards and backwards to do well. I've heard horror stories about the other profs, but Adair is not as easy as everyone says.

Comments:She is an alright teacher, but do not take her b/c everyone has said that she is easy. Her lectures are pretty boring and she really can get confusing after a while. The THINKWELLS take up a boatload of time and she gives a few other sparatic assignments as well as two journal article assignments. Her tests are average, you just have to know the information. One plus for her class is that the thinkwells can boost you up a full letter grade if you do them all. Definitely not the hardest, but not as easy as everyone claims.

Comments:i really dislike this prof. she is really awful. i had a really bad experience with her, where she proceeded to tell me that i should "stick to what i was good at." i thought that a prof is supposed to be helpful and encouraging. so just to let the rest of you know. she stinks as a prof.

Comments:boring in class...lectures dont correspond well with thinkwell...test questions are random.

Comments:Very random. Does not go with the Thinkwell lessons and tests are not good measure of the course. Her lectures go on different tangents.

Comments:The extra credit she gives you is a major help, although Thinkwells get old after awhile. Her lectures are pretty boring, because they are an exact replica on the thinkwells. Her tests are hard, but study the notes and do your thinkwells and you should be fine.

Comments:Okay prof. She gives you 10 points on your final grade if you do thinkwell. No book, just have to watch thinkwell. Tests are not that hard.

Comments:Really friendly, Good teacher. Test went too hard and she gave a lot of easy extra credit.
