Comments:REL1350 - Ok, I am not the best student ever like I do not really spend a lot of time outside of class doing work and I still did really well in this class. There is a weekly quiz that is open book and online that is so easy the answers come directly from the book. He has 3 hard exams and a final that is not cumulative. All though the exams are tough, he has study sessions before each one that are SO HELPFUL. He can get off topic and go on tangents in class, because he is crazy and also liberal. I did not agree with all his tangents but they were very entertaining and interactive. He is great to laugh at and if he knows you like if you talk to him he will be happy to help you. He is old and I thought he was boring at first, but I ended up enjoying it and having a way easier time than my friends who took any other heritage professor.  - Grade In Class:B+

Comments:REL1350 - I loved this class I had no prior knowledge and he explained things in a very straightforward way. I would suggest taking good notes in class and using those to study because his study guides don't really include everything that's on his tests. His class did get boring at some points but I feel like it would be that way in any religion class. Overall a sweet old man and would 100% take him again.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:REL 1350 - I liked him. I think I would have gotten an A if I attended all of the study sessions but I only attended the last few. He’s very liberal and will go on tangents about that. He’s a nice guy, and he genuinely wanted his student to succeed. He even added 6 points to one of our tests over thanksgiving just for the heck of it. Definitely do the extra credit essay it really helped  - Grade In Class:B

Comments:1350 - Dr. Weaver is an excellent teacher who is very passionate about his job. My best advice is to attend his study sessions before each test, as he gives a very detailed description of what to expect on the test.  - Grade In Class:B

Comments:1350 - I made this account just to say how much I enjoyed his class. He made the class enjoyable by making jokes and was always available to answer an email. The quizzes were not difficult at all if you read, and the readings aren't long. People I knew in other classes struggled so much on tests, but his were not too hard if you just put in some time studying. He was so considerate of us and moved an exam because the Final Four game was the day before. His rating should be at least a 90 on here. He's my favorite professor I've had at Baylor.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2021-07-20

Comments:1350 - If you do the assigned readings, pay attention in class, and don't cram for his tests, you will do just fine. The people who don't do well with Weaver don't take the time to actually read the text or fully pay attention to his lectures, which are so much fun by the way. Weaver is such a sweet man who is really passionate about the Christian Heritage. If I could retake any class it would definitely be this one. It's so interesting, and Weaver is the sweetest!!  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:REL 1350 - I was actually surprised at how low Dr. Weaver's rating is on here, he is by far one of the best professors I've had at Baylor. Every lecture I went to was truly special and fun, and I am so sad it got cut short due to COVID. Take his course. If you take notes and attend his study sessions before tests you will do great. 10/10 amazing professor.  - Grade In Class:B+

Comments:REL 1350 - I absolutely loved Professor Weaver! At first because of some of these reviews, I was worried about how the class might go, but I really enjoyed it! I am not interested in Christian Heritage in the slightest, but Doc Weaver definitely found a way to keep me engaged. In class, I’d recommend filling out his powerpoint handouts, which he provides, and also writing down anything else he says is important. The tests are hard, but I went to all of his review sessions and those answered my questions. The online quizzes can be very hard if you don't actually do the reading, so take the time to read and you should be fine. I worked for my grade but I truly loved his class and how passionate he was about Christian Heritage! If you’re looking for an easy A, then take a different professor, but I would take Weaver again if I could.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1350 - Heritage (COVID19): His lectures are so full of charisma! I learned a lot from him. Quiz every now over assigned reading. Tests are straight forward, I got B's with little studying. A couple of extra credit opportunities that will raise your grade about 5-7 points. He is an amazing professor, you'll wanna take him before he retires.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1350 - This man is a great professor! He is so passionate and knowledgeable about the material. If you do the handouts that he provides for his lectures and attend his study sessions you can succeed in this course. He is funny and light-hearted which makes the lectures interesting and easy to listen to. Tests are all multiple choice, there is a quiz on the readings weekly, and there are multiple extra credit opportunities. This was a good class with a good professor... highly recommend!  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1350 - I absolutely loved Professor Weaver! I am not interested at all in Christian Heritage but he managed to keep me engaged during lectures. He is very understanding and helpful with all questions and problems you may have as well. I did find his exams to be quite tough, but as long as you keep good notes during lectures, fill out his study guide, and go to his review sessions, you should be perfectly fine. The online quizzes can be really hard if you don't actually do the reading. The readings are long but if you take half a hour to do it, you should be fine. I had to work for my grade, but I truly did enjoy his class. If you want an easy A, take a different professor, but I would take Weaver again if I could.  - Grade In Class:B+

Date: 2020-04-23

Comments:1350 - There were a few online quizzes that we had to prepare for by reading quite a bit. His lectures were boring, but the review sessions/big study guide helped for the tests. I never got above an 80 for the tests, I guess the material was hard for me to understand. I'm a straight A student and it stinks this class was my lowest grade this semester.  - Grade In Class:B

Date: 2020-04-21

Comments:1350 - Dr. Weaver is awesome. His lectures are easy to follow and he is really funny, albeit really weird too, but that adds to his humor. He is a very smart guy and really knows what he's talking about and he loves the subject. There are frequent quizzes based on readings which can sometimes be a lot. Exams are not hard, just study his study guide. Overall, he's a great teacher and an easy class, take him if you can handle a huge class.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2020-04-21

Comments:REL 1350 - I enjoyed this class more than the comments are saying. Dr. Weaver is a funny, old man who is very knowledgeable in this subject matter. He has note-taking handouts that you follow along with the PowerPoints during lecture. The homework readings are not very long, so it’s pretty manageable to keep up (keeping up helps much more when studying for the test). We had reading quizzes on Canvas, but they were not difficult at all. If you take notes in class, look over the test review, and keep up the reading, studying for the tests will not be hard, and the tests won’t be challenging either. This class is very doable, and Dr. Weaver is a great man. I totally recommend this class.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2019-11-19

Comments:REL 1350 - I don't know how the people in these reviews got A's in heritage. I'm typically a straight A student, but Weaver's tests were so hard for me. I never got above an 84. His lectures will literally make you want to slam your head into the wall they're so boring. He does review sessions which helped a little, but he puts a lot of random questions on the test that weren't even mentioned in the review. It's super annoying that I could've gotten an A in this class with another professor. He's not horrible, but there's probably a few better options out there.  - Grade In Class:B+

Date: 2019-05-10

Comments:Heritage - His class is the most boring class you will ever take at Baylor. He is a very strange dude and the tests are very poorly written with tons of strangely worded questions. There is extra credit offered but it does not do much to help your grade. The few days that his TA taught the lecture it was wayyyyy easier to understand and stay awake for than when Weaver taught. Overall this class makes me sad to be Christian and will deter any students to potentially convert in the future due to the amount of boredom that they have to endure for and hour and fifteen minutes twice a week.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2019-05-08

Comments:1350 - If you go to class and actually pay attention, his tests are pretty straight forward and easy. He really tries his best to make class fun, and he usually does by in like a cute old man kinda way. Final is just another tests, the he offers an optional comprehensive final for extra credit. Would definitely recommend  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1350 - he is a weird dude you have like almost no work but his test are stupidly hard. dont recomend him tbh  - Grade In Class:B

Date: 2019-04-15

Comments:1350 - I had a really hard time warming up to weaver in the beginning but learned to love him in the end. He gives out handouts which you fill out throughout the lecture so that's nice. Heritage is a tough class no matter who you take it with because it just has so much information so if you can get a better professor do it but weaver is not a bad choice.  - Grade In Class:B

Date: 2019-01-06

Comments:1350 - Doug was a fat no! I implore you to take heritage at MCC bc this aint it. Doug it quite seasoned and his lectures are the longest 1h15 minutes I've ever endured. Yes he does offer extra credit but that wasn't enough for me to secure an A. There's a lot of reading and his tests require a lot of studying. Overall, issa swipe left for Doug. Thank you, next.  - Grade In Class:B

Date: 2018-12-19

Comments:Heritage - Professor Weaver is a great professor. He is so funny and gives you all the materials you need to get an A in the class. Just show up and take good notes and study all the important details. He gives plenty of extra credit opportunities if you need it as well.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2018-12-11

Comments:1305 - Dr. Weaver is a really nice man but his teaching style is.........how do i say this........outdated. Stands up and lectures the entire class. He gives 3 tests during the semester although they seem really close together (was done with fall testing by october). Tests are not terrible but there are definitely some questions there to trip you up. Studying a couple days ahead should be fine. Have a a quiz on class days that are based off the readings. He as a person seems great but he has a professor is ehhhh. Really too much effort to put into a class everyone has to take but it is what it is. He's definitely a safe professor to take as he does give out a lot of extra credit.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2018-11-13

Comments:REL1350 - BEST professor, seriously. Show up to class, read for the quizzes, fill out the notes he gives you, study those notes word-for-word for the test, go to the extra credit opportunities and study sessions, and you WILL get an easy A in this class. Everything is basically handed to you, TAKE IT!! I started studying 5-7 days before every test, basically studying a little bit each day, and made A's on all my tests. Put forth the effort and you will love this class  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2018-11-12

Comments:1350 - Professor Weaver is probably one of the better religion professors you can get. He basically gives you all the notes. While it's a relatively straightforward course, the quizzes are not easy unless you read. And, the exams are pretty difficult. Keep up with reading and you'll be okay. I'd take him again over some of the other religion professors.  - Grade In Class:B

Date: 2018-11-07

Comments:1350 - Dr. Weaver has been my favorite professor at Baylor so far! I loved him and his class so much that he inspired me to pursue a minor in Religion. He is hilarious and coming to his class was a treat. Just study the reviews he gives on canvas and follow along with the notes he gives and you will make an A for sure.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2018-04-09

Comments:1310 - The worst. He is a sweet man but he literally just reads of the powerpoint. This is a university requirement so I;m not sure why he feels the need to have quizzes due every class and tons of reading. Unnecessary honestly!  - Grade In Class:C+

Date: 2018-02-01

Comments:1350 - Great teacher. Lecture based class, but he is pretty funny so it's bearable. Usually have an online quiz once a week. Tests are similar to the study guides.  - Grade In Class:B

Date: 2017-12-13

Comments:1350 - Weaver is such a sweet guy and his class isn't bad. Print off the notes or download them and fill in the blanks and add extra notes on the side. He gives you a test review that goes along with the notes and if you study that you will do well on his tests. The questions are very straight forward for the most part. There are online quizzes from readings, but you have enough time to look through the books or find the answers online. There is an extra credit assignment that helps your lowest test grade. The final is not cumulative. There is an OPTIONAL cumulative exam that can replace your lowest test grade. Also, go to the review sessions he has because he goes over what to know and sometimes gives you specific questions to know. Overall, pretty easy to get an A.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2017-11-29

Comments:1350 - Dr. Weaver is a great guy. He's funny and knows the material he teaches. He is passionate about it. He doesn't expect his students to have any previous knowledge about Christianity and he doesn't expect everyone to be a Christian. He gives different perspectives on everything. The quizzes are easy. They're mostly on quizlet. He posts notes on Canvas for you to fill out. He also posts a study guide for all the tests. The final is NOT cumulative. There are several extra credit opportunities. He also does a review session for every test.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2017-11-15

Comments:Rel 1350 - Dr. Weaver's tests are incredibly easy. Yes, there is a lot of material to learn. Can you make an A? Absolutely, 100 percent. He types notes FOR YOU and you just have to sit there and fill them out. He gives an optional extra credit essay and test, there's practically zero homeowrk (other than a bunch of annoying online quizzes that he gives you 25 minutes to complete). Dr. Weaver is an extremely funny guy with a big heart, and I'm glad I took his class.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2017-11-13

Comments:REL 1350 - The comments below are very dramatic. If you read the small reading assignments you will do fine on the quizzes, and if you know the test review you will do fine on the tests. You only have to know the test review for tests. He sometimes throws in 1 question that's not on there but that you should probably know anyways. Not a bad class. He's an awesome dude  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2017-05-07

Comments:1350 - Honestly, take someone else. His lectures barely went over the Powerpoints and with notes, they are fill in the blank and are crucial for his study guide. First of all, you basically have to know everything to do well on his tests. Sometimes he doesn't even talk about material that is on the study guide so you have no idea if it will be on the test or not. He offers a lot of extra credit, so do that if you decide to take him. He's a sweet, old man, but I'm sure there are easier heritage professors.  - Grade In Class:B

Date: 2017-05-05

Comments:1350 - This class is very hard, don't be fooled. You need to know every single detail of your notes for the exam so honestly, disregard the study guide especially since it's so broad that it's not worth your time. The quizzes are very hard I think Kim and Joshua make them along with the tests, a lot of people take them in groups but i'm not sure if that's allowed. Anyways, read the assigned readings because he will include stuff from the book on the exam (information that is not listed on the study guide). Pay attention in class and honestly, try to take your own notes. The fact that they're fill in the blank allowed my mind to go elsewhere or do other things.  - Grade In Class:B+

Date: 2017-05-05

Comments:REL 1350 - Dr.Weaver is FANTASTIC! He is a very involved professor with an apparent passion for teaching. As someone who didn't grow up in a religious home, most of the information was completely over my head, however he creates a history oriented atmosphere instead of the usual "Preachy" feel. As long as you Read and take the quizzes, you'll be fine. I highly recommend taking the quizzes in a group. For tests, Know EVERYTHING on the study guide.  - Grade In Class:B+

Date: 2017-04-25

Comments:1350 - He is a great person with a big heart and is hilarious. However, this class is not as easy as people said. I filled out the study guide and took great notes and studied for hours and still struggled to make the grades. It varies from student to student on how well they handle each subject but this class is NOT an easy A. It's totally earned and definitely not impossible to make. Just don't expect the class to be a breeze.  - Grade In Class:B

Date: 2017-04-11

Comments:Christian Heritage - Weaver was so funny and his class was really easy. He constantly cracked jokes at people and taught with passion. He cared about students to. I was in a 200 person class but he still emailed students about how they did on tests. Take Weaver!!!  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2016-05-19

Comments:Christian Heritage - Dr. Weaver is a lot of fun. It was the easiest class I've taken at Baylor. Here's how to make a very high A in his class: GO TO CLASS, do the readings, FILL OUT THE STUDY GUIDE. The readings are not long, and the class is entertaining. To be honest, he gives you an outline of the notes, so you don't even have to pay extremely close attention to the lectures as long as you understand the notes. The exams are not cumulative, so you only have to fill out the study guide. If you go to class and know what's on the study guide (know it backwards and forwards), you'll do well!  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2016-05-17

Comments:1350 - DR. WEAVER IS AMAZING. His class each semester is always huge, but he never fails to get us laughing and excited. It is a struggle to stay awake at times (and sometimes he drags his lectures), but he is very helpful. Heritage with Weaver is NOT a workload. His quizzes and exams are DIRECTLY from his notes (which he gives you). You will do well if you put some effort into studying. His final is not cumulative.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2015-05-11

Comments:1350 - He is a SOLID teacher. He wants the students to do well. Go to his office hours once and he will love you forever and help you with anything. His lectures are pretty dry but his tests come straight from his notes. There are probably easier professors out there for 1350 but he is a great option as long as you keep up! The quizzes also boost your grade because they are all online so you can take them in a group!  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2015-05-10

Comments:1350 - Super nice and funny guy. The tests are pretty hard though! Don't buy the two books!! A lot of the answers to the weekly quizzes are on quizlet. Start a group text with friends in that class and help each other out!  - Grade In Class:C+

Date: 2015-05-04

Comments:1350 - KEEP UP WITH THE WORK and you will succeed. Keep up with printing the notes - you can use them on quizzes. Keep up with the readings - lectures build on them!  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2014-05-28

Comments:Heritage - Heritage with Weaver is seriously the way to go. His class is (I think) the only one that doesn’t require group projects or mandatory essays (there is an extra credit one if you choose to do it) - only a few tests and online quizzes. Weaver is an excellent lecturer and really passionate about the subject matter. Pay attention and print out his lecture notes from blackboard and you will do well. He even offers study sessions before his 50 multiple-choice tests (and you can opt to take an essay exam if you prefer) and puts a key-term study guide online. He takes the 10 best online quiz grades and you get 25 minutes for each- seriously people, this is the best religion class you can take. Put a little bit of work in studying for the tests and you should get an A in this class no problem.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2014-05-25

Comments:REL 1350 - BEST TEACHER BAYLOR HAS!!!! he makes class super easy and fun and tries to get to know every student. as long as you pay attention in class and take good notes the test are easy. there are a bunch of quizes throughout the semester but he only takes the grades for the top 10 and you can really just google the answers to most of them. you may not even really need to buy the books because the only time you will use them is when you are taking the quizes but google works almost as well.  - Grade In Class:B+

Comments:1350 - SERIOUSLY AWESOME! Coolest man ever. Get to know him!  - Grade In Class:C+

Date: 2014-04-01

Comments:1350 - Easy A! Just pay attention and go over the study guide and answer the questions in detail a few days before the test and you should be okay. Take advantage of the extra credit!  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2013-12-04

Comments:1350 - He is an easy professor. No problem getting an A or B. Literally just go over the reviews that he posts on blackboard. I sat in class the entire semester. Never took any notes and got an A. Just pay attention in class and do the review he posts on blackboard.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2013-05-13

Comments:Heritage - He is HILARIOUS. I honestly didn't study much which his why I didn't get an A. TaKe the quizzes with a friend so you'll get 100% on those! His reviews tell you everything that will be on the exams. Also offers extra credit.  - Grade In Class:B+

Date: 2013-04-12

Comments:1350 - Go to EVERY class!! you don't have to do much reading for the tests if you go to class everyday and take good notes. you do however have to do some readings for the quizzes but he normally drops a few of them.  - Grade In Class:B+

Date: 2013-02-06

Comments:REL 1350 - Standard 250 person lecture style course. Read the textbook; take 15 online quizzes throughout the semester (he drops the lowest 5). Three exams and a final that are simply questions from things he lectured about. They are hard and require a lot of studying. I unfortunately blew off the three exams during the semester before getting everything together for the final and acing it which was frustrating because all you really need to do is study for several hours the night before and memorize everything and you will do just fine. He also offers two big extra credit opportunities: one is a paper that the grade you receive on it reduces your lowest test grade to 10% of your grade and the paper takes up the other 10%; the second is an optional comprehensive final exam which will replace your other lowest test grade altogether. It is hard. I didn't do well enough for it to replace my lowest test grade; and my test grades were LOW. Just take good lecture notes and study hard for the exams and you'll do fine.  - Grade In Class:C+

Date: 2012-12-23

Comments:1350 - Heritage - Can't imagine an easier Heritage class. He is easily the most outgoing teacher. I frequently remember him getting up in students' faces and yelling at them or making fun of sorority girls every other day. It was very surprising for a religion teacher, but he definitely kept the class on their toes. As for grades, he has 15 quizzes throughout the semester to boost your grade, drops 5 lowest ones (and you can get 100's on all of them with a little help from the net). His 5 tests are memorization (his study guide on Blackboard will become your best friend for these). Has an "extra credit" 2 pg double space paper that you can write (you choose 1 of 3 topics) to decrease the weight of your lowest test grade, AND has an optional Final comprehensive test to completely drop your lowest test grade (which is not the actual final though). Not a hard A. I actually learned a whole lot about Religion and the beliefs of other denominations too, which I thought was well worth the $$$ I'm pouring into Kenny's insanely high tuition fees... go bears  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2012-11-27

Comments:Heritage - Dr. Weaver is a nice man who gives his TA's an amazing amount of power. They write the impossible quizzes and the tests. I made an A in his class but it was because I killed myself for endless hours in preparation for his exams. His TA's, particularly the girl, were not only rude, but unfair, demeaning, and prideful. There weer four tests each worth 20% of your grade and the weekly quizzes totalled to 20% of your grade as well. There was one extra credit opportunity in which you had to write a pointless 3 page paper for which they rewarded you very minimally. Please, as a peron who already ventured down this path,Itake another teacher if you have the opportunity to do so.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2012-06-07

Comments:1350 - I really enjoyed and learned a lot from this class! Don't let his age fool you- he cracks jokes, pokes fun at students, and is an entertaining lecturer. I did read all of the material for the class (usually 1 chapter from a book that gives more historical and cultural analysis of the Bible and then 2-3 readings from a book that is a compilation of portions of famous writings from Biblical scholars). However, most of my classmates never opened the books except for during the quizzes. The quizzes are online- you only get one attempt, but they are pretty straightforward. I usually got a 90 or a 100. There are no assignments due in class (which is nice- some profs have essays). There are 3 tests and a noncomprehensive final. Looking over the study guides that he posts on blackboard and the notes from class that he also posts is really all the studying you need. The second unit is a lot harder because the names sound very similar and the theologies are complex. Honestly, if you just know which name goes with which theology, you're pretty much set. Understanding the concepts themselves is not as important as knowing the historical overview of who did it and when it was done (ie which conference is occurred at). There are several opportunities for extra credit. Overall- easy class, light workload, interesting teacher and material. I definitely suggest taking Dr Weaver!  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1350 - I loved Weaver's class! He loves to engage with students and makes a class of 200+ seem so much smaller! He provides lecture outlines on Blackboard that make it really easy to follow along and his two TA's offered multiple SI sessions a week. Reading for the quizzes isn't bad and Weaver drops the lowest 6 of 16. Tests are very straightforward and come straight from the lecture notes. Opportunities for extra credit include an essay and comprehensive final.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2011-12-13

Comments:1350 - Class is ridiculously easy...I did not read to completion a single piece of text for the quizzes and still got all A's on the grades. His class is so boring, and his interpretation of the subject is very shallow. It is probably because he is teaching a 200+ class, but I still wish I would have learned more in-depth material over the Christian Heritage and its history because some aspects were very interesting. In general, this is the type of class one would call an "athlete's class" because it's so basic, shallow, and easy. Take this class if you just want to get your Religion requirements over with and have an easy A.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:REL 1350 - Weaver is a great teacher to take for Heritage. The entire class is extremely boring compared to Scriptures, it's basically a history class that gets related back to the Bible. Take this class with your friends (it's not hard to get, the class is huge) so you won't be bored. You can print the notes out online and follow along with them in class, but that never worked for me, it only made me lose my attention from the minute I sat down. It's best to write the notes, if that helps you retain info better. Tests are pretty simple if you go to both SI sessions a week and EACH TEST REVIEW before the tests. That's a lot to ask for, but it really helps. They hand out questions to the test like no other since not a lot of people attend either. Do every extra credit, every essay, every everything. Don't be stupid and not read for the quizzes, they add up to a test grade and will help you in the end. If you need to take this class, Weaver is a great choice.  - Grade In Class:B+

Comments:1310 - Take Dr. Weaver for Christian Heritage! He's really helpful...he's like one of the very few professors at Baylor who has test reviews for each test. And his intentions are really well-set as well...it's pretty obvious that he's not out to lower your GPA, but he does pretty much anything he can to help it. We have reading quizzes throughout the year, but he drops the lowest six, so that's a pretty good deal. And even if you skip more than 6 quizzes, he gives you a LOT of extra credit opportunities. His tests are pretty easy if you pay attention in class. He does a really good job of explaining everything and tries his best to make the class as interesting as possible (although Christian Heritage is already pretty boring already). He has two TAs and they have SI twice a week, so if you are really doing bad in that class, there really is no excuse other than you're not trying hard enough! Yeah, even if you don't do well on the tests. he provides lots of ways to compensate for your grade. Example: he gives an optional essay that you can write that will improve up to 50% of your test grade. Yeah it's an essay, but that's a pretty fair deal, since there he assigns no essays throughout his course. I would definitely recommend him for Christian Heritage! Awesome guy.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1350 - Weaver is an awesome teacher. His lectures are kind of boring towards the beginning of the semester but they get much easier and more interesting. The quizzes online are a breeze and the tests in class are easy too. make sure you go to the review session weaver holds before tests he gives a lot of test questions to you so its great!   - Grade In Class:B+

Comments:christian her. - Really funny, passionate, good teacher overall. To do well, simply study the notes he posts online, go to the review sessions he gives before the exam, (there is always an extra question or two he only mentions about to the ppl who go to review session) and fill out the study guide. Highly recommended for a pre health "easy A" course.   - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1350 - this was a super boring class. i had it on tuesdays/thursdays so the hour and a half felt like forever! pretty much everyone in the class just passed notes and worked on homework during class.make sure you dont get online or text during class though because there are 2 annoying TAs that sit in the back and they count you absent when they catch you. the class itself wasnt too bad. just do the quizzes and take advantage of all the extra credit opportunities. sooo boring, but if you want a good grade without a lot of work i would take him  - Grade In Class:B

Comments:REL 1350 - He's so nice and hilarious. The lecture might be boring because it's such a big class that it's hard to concentrate but the outlines are so important most materials come from that. visit his office hours and his TAs are really helpful and nice. as long as you get the story straight from the outlines and know the basic facts of each bullet you should be fine.   - Grade In Class:C

Comments:1350 - It may be in part because I had already learned much of the material in high school, but Weaver is seriously easy. But, better than that, he really makes the material enjoyable as possible, cracks jokes, and he's really friendly. Three easy MC Tests and a final, extra-credit opportunities, and lots of easy open-book online quizzes. My only complaint is that he's a huge Yankees fan...so take Weaver if possible!   - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1350 - The class was pretty entertaining. Dr. Weaver mad it interesting and would crack jokes sometimes. There are 15 online quizzes, and he drops 5. He posts notes online and you can print them out and bring them to class. Doing the review for the test helps. I would highlight the points in my notes that were on the review and go over it a few times. It definitely helped! I really liked Dr. Weaver and I recommend taking him.   - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1350 - Dr. Weaver is hilarious. He was very entertaining and walked around the room and picked on random students. His class was SUPER EASY. You don't need to try that hard to make and A. Just read the materials for the quizzes, which are online and you can spend up to 25 minutes on. There are 15 quizzes. He drops 5. The exams were extremely easy, just study the handouts he posted on blackboard and you can make an A. I studied for the first test ONE hour before the test and made an A. He does take attendance, but since he provides the notes on blackboard you won't miss anything if you skip. You might miss out on his jokes. He is AMAZING take HIM! EASY A!  - Grade In Class:A

Also, the SI sessions with Christy were very helpful! I failed the final and still made a B+ in the class. He offers an extra credit essay which helps a lot. Comments:1350 - Dr. Weaver is a great teacher. His lectures are always interesting and he really shows he's interested in what he want's you to know. The reading isn't too bad if you manage to space it out. Don't get behind though. The quizzes he gives aren't bad at all and his tests are okay as well, so long as you have kept up on the reading. He also drops 2 quizzes at the end and offers an extra credit essay that helps a low test score.  - Grade In Class:B

Comments:REL 1350 - Dr Weaver is a wonderful professor. He is one of my favorites here at Baylor. He works hard to get to know his students and likes to interact with everyone. He is extremely insightful and definitely has a passion for church history. For the first half of the semester you have online quizzes to take before each class, but they are not difficult if you do the readings and he posts all of his notes. I suggest you bring them to class because they are extremely helpful to take notes on. Also, his tests are not terribly difficult and he offers an extra credit paper which is really easy to boost your grade. Overall, I suggest you take this prof, he is wonderful and he is not hard at all.  - Grade In Class:B+

Comments:REL 1350 - Unlike the other ratings, for me this class was rather difficult. Maybe I just didn't invest enough time in it cause other classes were my priority, but I just think that for a religion class this was more that necessary. We had two book we had to take quizes over everyday before class. There was a lot of information, which made it difficult for me to memorize with all my other important classes going on at the same time. I had Saddler for Scriptures and it was a loooot easier. Weaver's lectures for the most part boring, fact which made me zone out for most of the clas... you decide.  - Grade In Class:D

Comments:1350 - Take Dr. Weaver for CHristian Heritage. Not only is his class NOT ridiculously boring, its easy too. He makes alot of jokes and references that we can relate to. He is easy going and funny and will do pretty much anything you ask him too. Drops the 2 lowest quizzes and also gives an extra credit oppurtunity for a low test grade.   - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1350 - I totally agree with the person above me. I LOVE WEAVER! Anyone can do well in his class if you do what's expected and he's an awesome guy. TAKE HIM! His online quizzes can have questions that are really specific so read everything and have your book handy while you take it. Go to both reviews before each test for sure! He'll tell you what's not going to be on the test and maybe some of the questions that will.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1350 - Are you serious? Professor Weaver is awesome! He does assign a lot of reading, but as long as you do the study guide and go to the reviews you don't have to really read. It helps, but his tests are straight from the study guide. Do the extra credit essay and you'll be fine. Study hard for the tests, but don't stress out too much; a lot of people end up with an A. Teaching wise, he is very nice, really funny, pretty laid back, and loves baseball. I learned a lot from this class, and there were so many people in it, that it was really fun; plus he let us out early some days. TAKE HIM and get to know him!  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:REL 1310 - Dr. Weaver likes to talk. He goes on and on and on so it was hard not to fall asleep. His tests are not too hard except the non-comprehensive final which would have destroyed me if it wasn't for the optional COMPREHENSIVE final which was EASY. So to get an A, take every opportunity to do well. Otherwise, take someone else.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:REL 1350 H - While I was in the Honors Course, and things might be different in a smaller class. I found Dr. Weaver to be engaging and insightful. His quizzes aren't tough if you've read and his study guides are all on blackboard. You have to pay attention to his lectures, but it's pretty obvious stuff on the test. Overall: one of the easiest Honors courses to take at Baylor  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1350 - Weaver is a cool guy and he gives ridiculously easy quizzes on blackboard the night before every class, but his tests are equally ridiculously hard. Unless you plan to have all the material memorized, you might as well not even study for his tests. The only thing that saved me in this class was the quiz grades. I recommend Sadler but his classes fill up quicker than a hiccup. Take Weaver if none of the really easy profs are available.  - Grade In Class:C

Comments:1350 - Christian Heritage with this prof is extremely amusing. Not only does he know what he's talking about, but he usually presents info in an entertaining way. He's very interactive with students during class, so its normally pretty easy to pay attention. His tests almost come straight from his outlines/things he stresses in lectures. For one test I only studied about 3 hours and still got a B+. He's a great Christian prof, I highly recommend him.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1350 - This class was so easy to take. I didn't pay attention in class a lot b/c it was so boring but he puts outlines on blackboard so if you print those and write side notes from class lecture you should do fine. I only read what i had to for the quizzes which were very easy. The review sessions for class are a big help for his tests. Comments:2480 - Dr. Weaver was an excellent professor for this class. The only test are a midterm and a final. You also have to write three short papers for the class, but they are really easy. You also take quizzes, which he tells you about in advance. The internship for the class is really easy. I would definitely take Dr. Weaver because Dr. Weaver=Awesomeness!   - Grade In Class:B

Comments:REL 1350 - Dr Weaver's is a good teacher, however his lectures dont cover whats on the test. My roommate and I began studying for his tests days in advance and would stay up way too late filling out his study guides which magically turned out to be the wrong information. His tests covered the most obscure and unimportant information. This teacher was easy a few years ago, but this class has changed and is VERY different. do not take this teacher  - Grade In Class:DROP

Comments:1350 & 2480 - Dr. Weaver is without a doubt the most amazing professor that I have ever taken. He is so knowledgeable about the subject of Christian History and really gives to a lot of insight as to how far the Christian faith has really come. His test aren't easy, but if you do the study guide and pay attention in class then you'll do fine. He is very personable and loves to get to know his students. He has a HUGE heart. Everyone should definately take Weaver!  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1350 - Dr. Weaver knows his information and really teaches it well. His tests weren't very hard but can be tricky with all of the similar names you have to know. He gives you a study guide at the beginning of the semester.. do it because it's basically all the information that will be on the test. He gives 11 quizzes but only 8 count so do the nightly reading so you do well on those and the material will be on the tests. Don't get behind on the reading. Also, he posts his outlines online, so print those out and add to them as he lectures.  - Grade In Class:B

Comments:1350 - Dr. Weaver is a good teacher and this class is pretty straightforward. If you do the readings, attend the study sessions he offers before the tests, and go to class and try to pay attention (which can be hard, as sometimes the lectures drag), then you should do fine. The tests are 50 questions, multiple choice, and there are 10, 5-question multiple choice quizzes, of which he drops 2. He offers extra credit, too. I would definitely take Dr. Weaver again.   - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1350 - I loved Dr. Weaver! He's a brilliant man and really loves what he teaches. He is interesting, and holds your attention for the whole lecture. The most important thing is GO TO CLASS. Comments:1310 - I thought this course was awesome. I was definitely very lucky to have Dr. Weaver. He has to be one of the best professors I have ever had. Readings almost every night and quizzes once a week, but they are very easy and help for the test. ATTEND THE STUDY SESSIONS, he gives hints to questions that will be on the test. Also his tests consist of the study guides he posts online, so be sure to print those out and bring them to class everday to write on during the lecture. Overall easy class, great teacher, learned a lot...seriously. I think there is something seriously wrong with you if you pass up a chance to have Dr. Weaver as a professor. The end.   - Grade In Class:B+

I slept (unintentionally) and didn't pay attention which is why I did so bad in the course... GO TO THE STUDY SESSIONS FOR THE TESTS!!! I made an A on the first test I went to a study session for...If you need to take Sriptures, Weaver is a good professor to have!  - Grade In Class:D

Comments:1350 Christian Heritage - I will preface this with the fact that this type of material interests me. With that being sad, his class was great. He knows his stuff and he can be very funny at times. He has quizes about once a week (I took the class MW), but generally they are not hard (even if you just skim the reading). There are readings every night, but generally its not a whole lot. Overall, the class is definitely very good. I would not think you would be disappointed if you took him.   - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1304 - I would definitely recommend him. He lectures a lot and usually his tests come more from the lectures than the book or the Bible so pay attention in class and take really good notes. He gives you an outline for each day so its easy to follow along. He gives quizzes on the readings throughout the semester, but usually theyre just the highlighted words in the book and theyre mult choice so theyre pretty easy. Tests are all mult choice too and he gives a lot of opportunities for extra credit. Hes a good professor and a really nice guy in person too.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1350 - I'm sorry, I guess I'm just weird but I couldn't stand this guy's class. It wasn't all his fault, I just found the material to be very boring especially at 8:00am for an hour and a half. His quizzes weren't hard at all if you read, but I couldn't force myself to read the material because I found it to be painfully boring. If I had it to do over again, I would rather have class at 10:00 on Saturday night with another teacher than this guy. He's nice and all, but just doesn't make an already boring class any better at all.  - Grade In Class:C

Comments:1350 - Great professor, great guy, great class. The material was not boring at all. I found it interesting to learn about the origens of my beliefs. There was alot of assigned reading, but you don't have to read unless there is going to be a quiz (seven of which are officially announce). There are three "pop" quizes, but if you pay attention, he makes it very obvious if there is going to be a pop quiz over the upcoming material. His tests are really easy, with only three or four tricky questions out of fifty. The review sessions are great, he pretty much tells you indirectly the answer to every question on the test. Be active in the class and take notes and you'll find it to be a wonderful class.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1350 - Weaver is a really nice guy but this is not a good class. His lectures get really boring and I fell asleep in class a lot. He also assigns a ton of reading and if you get behind you will not do well in the class. The quizes are easy but the tests ask really picky questions. I would take him again if I HAD to, but he is defenitly not my first choice.  - Grade In Class:B+

Comments:Christian Heritage - Dr. Weaver is extremely knowledgable about what he teaches, but his class is somewhat boring. He does keep the mood light by cracking a few jokes here and there, but I found myself easily bored by the lectures. You have to read to pass the quizes, and you must pay attention and study for the tests, which can be quite difficult. Although he is a really nice guy and knows what he is talking about, his class just kind of put me to sleep. It is not hard to pass--you just have to do the assignments!  - Grade In Class:B

Comments:1350 - Alright! Dr. Weaver is a very nice professor. He just doesn't take crap, he's honest, and he demands work ethic! He's very knowledgeable, but sometimes his test are tough!...also, the quizes aren't a breeze either...you must read or your a hopeless cause. The quizes are worded in such a way that YOU CANNT JUST GUESS, though it is multiple choice...don't be fooled. I suggest him for Religion 1305! Overall Great Man & Professor!!!  - Grade In Class:B+

Comments:REL 1350 - This guy is great to have for the class. Yes, it can be boring, but that's because church history can be boring. So can any other intro course. It's the basics, and thus less interesting. He was willing to work with me on turning in late the ONE essay you have to do in the entire class. The quizzes are easy if you just read the few pages it covers, and he tells you exactly what to read. The tests are more difficult, but it isn't his fault. I have no idea why people scored as low as they do on those tests. The tests are entirely multiple choice, and he gives you an option of writing a short essay to replace about half of the questions of the test if you are so inclined. I'm an atheist, and I still consistently scored 15-20 points higher than everyone else on this foreign topic. It just takes COLLEGE STUDY TIME. This is not high school any more.  - Grade In Class:B+

Comments:Christian Heritage - Weaver...what can I say other than I LOVED his class. He is a funny guy that seems to have a passion about what he teaches. He knows his materials, and makes it fun for us to learn. He has the BEST cartoon strips that relate to what we study.......cracks a lot of jokes to keep an enjoyable eviroment in the classroom. I would DEFINATELY recommend him. He has an excellent style of teaching.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:REL 1350 - As a "freshmen who isn't used to a college workload" (see two posts below), I definately enjoyed my class with Weaver. His tests are not that difficult (if you pay attention and do your reading!) and he's a pretty funny guy as well. Some of his class discussions make you THINK about your beliefs, and I really like that. Going to review sessions before tests is a big help as well.  - Grade In Class:B

Date: 2004-06-14

Comments:1350 - Dr. Weaver really changed from the first semester he was here. I was terrified to take his class, but it ended up being very interesting and fun. He has study sessions before every test and he gives you lots of answers. The study guide for the whole semester is what most of the tests come from, and as long as you know that stuff and do some readings, you should do fine. The quizzes are easy if you do the reading and he tells you what to read for them. I really enjoyed the class even though I wasn't really interested in the material.  - Grade In Class:B+

Date: 2004-05-10

Comments:REL 1350 - I think all these people that bash Dr. Weaver are just disgruntled freshmen who aren't used to a college workload. This guy is a walking encyclopedia of church history. Have you read his credentials? Or looked at his publications? He even pastored before coming here... He knows what he is talking about! So Weaver's not the most energetic teacher, but his jokes are pretty funny, in a sarcastic dry way. (Think of Fraiser instead of Jim Carrey). Maybe that's why all these people don't like him... one more thing where they have to think. The workload was heavy. I did average studying, and came out with a B. Not too bad. The cool thing is that I still use what I learned in Weaver's class in my current classes. That says a lot coming from me b/c I'm totally not a history person. So, if you want an easy A, don't take Dr. Weaver's course. He will make you earn it. He wants you to really learn the material, not just regurgitate it.  - Grade In Class:B+

Date: 2004-05-06

Comments:1350 - Dr. Weaver is the sweetest man! He is very understanding and helpful. He gives 8 quizes, drops three of them, tells you when they are exactly, and they aren't hard at all. However, you're in for a big surprise if you think his tests will be as easy as his quizes. The tests are very difficult and require you to memorize information about many religious figures. I have to admit his lectures do get a little boring, but he respects his students and cracks quite a few jokes every class.  - Grade In Class:B

Comments:1350 - IF YOU WANT AN A STAY AWAY. This class was a big snooze fest. All he did was talk the whole 1 hr. and 20 min. that I had him for. His tests did not make a bit of sense. Also no professor should be allowed to assign as much reading as he did.  - Grade In Class:D

Comments:1301 - DO NOT TAKE WEAVER!!! My first few weeks in the class I really didn't focus at all when the test came around I made a C, encouraged at a passing grade with little effort, I began to read everyday and take notes, print his notes of Blackboard as well as take more notes from his lectures, which I studied everyday, second test came around and I was convinced I made an A or B, I made a freakin F, actually it was more like an X or Z. I talked to him and didn't get much help, I have never thought my first F in my life would be in a class that I was so well prepared for. The most positive thing I can say is that since I did study so much I do know a lot, but this is a required course, I didn't take it to learn, I took it to pass, instead it raped my GPA. Oh yeah, and Sadler gives tons of bonus for communtiy service, Weaver gives five little pts for listening to a boring ass lecture and writing two pgs a/b it.   - Grade In Class:D

Comments:REL 1350 - He is a knowledgeable teacher but his lectures can get a little boring after a while. His quizzes aren't too hard if you read the material which is a lot, but his test are absurd. He only gave us two tests and then the final. His tests cover a lot of material that you can't find in either the book, his lectures, or his notes. I don't recommend this class to anyone. You put a lot of time in and you don't really reap good benefits. I was blessed to get the grade I did, I studied more than the average person should have to study. So it's your call, if you want a professor who is okay in class but whose tests are ridiculous, then take him. But don't say I didn't warn you. One more thing, he assigns a 3 page research paper towards the end of the semester. The only problem I had with this, is that he assigned it to us over the Thanksgiving holiday and expected us to have it the next class after the break.  - Grade In Class:B

Comments:christian heritage - Okay so this guy is not a bad teacher..his tests are hard though! He is very encouraging and truly tries to help you out if you go see him..he is not the devil..he is a nice man...his tests come straight frum the lectures in class so u have to listen in class but thats the hard part if you dont like religion. The guy is sweet..but if you read the material you will be okay..  - Grade In Class:C

Comments:religion - WEAVER is horrible! AVOID him at all costs! Don't be sucked in! His tests are impossible, he assigns insane amounts of reading material. He thinks its funny when students are unsuccessful! What was Baylor thinking this prof is beyond bad!  - Grade In Class:DROP

Comments:1350 - WOW-Weaver is so freaking hard. he's a great guy but I am a good student, studied starting weeks before a test and still got a bad grade! The questions are very tricky-too much reading to do and too many pop quizzes. the tests are IMPOSSIBLE! Avoid this teacher  - Grade In Class:D

Comments:1350 - He assigns way too much reading. He puts random questions on the test that he did not cover. It doesn't seem like he knows the material very well himself. He gets off the subject alot and is biased when he teaches. The good part is that his tests are all multiple choice and 90% of the questions are off the outline he posts on blackboard for you.  - Grade In Class:C

Comments:1310 - Do NOT take him! I am warning you!!! He gives no homework, Tests do not even have some questions found in the reading. Reading-is awful! Get Patrick or Sadler!  - Grade In Class:DROP
