Comments:1350 - This class is a complete waste of time, and we could of learned the semester's material over the course of two weeks. Sadler, overall, is a weird guy who acts 25 years older than he is and lacks the ability to write consistent exams as well as the ability to teach a college level course (though he is by no means a mean or bad person). This class is a relatively easy A, but this class is also boring and taught by an ineffectual professor who is no longer qualified to teach it.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2018-12-13

Comments:1350 - Unorganized, awful professor. His lectures make you contemplate why you’re even in college, he just runs in circles & gets no where. 3 tests & 3 sets of ‘weaver readers’ the tests aren’t a good measure of your understanding, they involve mainly luck.. & are mainly true false. Not to mention every test has atleast 5 errors & he probably screwed up peoples grades. Weaver readers are easy. Work load is light, & it’s a relatively easy class. If you can deal with incompetence for an easy class go for it  - Grade In Class:B+

Comments:heritage - okay I understand the reviews below but this seamster he changed the weaver readings and he changed how hard his test are. the class is hard because you have no idea what you are doing and no idea how to study. yes the terms are on the test but it could literally anything with them. Also his test are a majority t/f which is so frustrating. take someone else honestly  - Grade In Class:B

Comments:1350 - This is the easiest and worst class I've ever taken. I know everyone wants an easy class but to pay thousands of dollars to learn absolutely nothing is ridiculous. Going to his class was a waste of time, energy, and money but I went to class anyway. He is very unorganized, repeats the same thing over and over again. He is not a bad person, but he is not capable of teaching. Even a freshman level course should be able to teach someone something. If you\'re in this class, reading the outlines, and looking at the vocab on the book is enough to pass his tests.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1350 - Dr. Sadler literally cost me Dean's List my last semester at Baylor. I put this class off until the end and was in a class with mainly seniors which was nice. That was about the only nice part about the class. Sadler doesn't teach, he prints off his lecture and then says the same lecture for 2 weeks then moves on to the next outline. You have to sign up for office hours, which are always full, and then he cancels them anyways. This is the only time I would ever blame a professor for a grade, but he lost not one but two sets of my assigned reading projects when I submitted them. I had all A's in my other classes and expected to pull a B+ in this class without really trying (which I would have), instead my grade dropped from a b+ to a c+ due to writing assignments. When I confronted him on this and had PROOF OF DELIVERY, he still denied me the points and I ended the semester with a 3.69. Sadler, GFY-- Sincerely, the graduated senior you screwed over. OHHHH and lastly, if you're and athlete take this class because you can physically be caught cheating or skipping class and have zero consequences.  - Grade In Class:C+

Date: 2017-05-09

Comments:1350 - I saw the reviews and waited two years to get into Sadler's class. It was worth it. Normally I write long reviews and comment on every aspect of the class, but it isn't necessary. Sadler intentionally teaches at a Freshman level, and is EXTREMELY respectful of his students. Sadler treats everyone far better than any professor I've ever had, and that alone is a good reason to take him. Unless you're some Antioch bible-thumper who gets insulted when the class doesn't get pummeled into the ground with essays and an unrealistic amount of scripture to read, take Sadler.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2016-12-15

Comments:1350 - People who are complaining about the class being disorganized are probably the same ones who don't even pay attention or show up to class half of the time so they really have no room to critique anyone. Sadler teaches this class as a freshman, college intro course, and it is simply just that. It's not meant to be tough or intense, but there are work and effort that you have to put in (though not as much compared to the other heritage courses taught by other professors). Overall easy class, and Sadler is super caring of his students. I don't understand how anyone can speak badly of him. TAKE HIM!  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2016-11-29

Comments:REL 1304 - Worst class I've ever taken in my entire life. He knows what he's talking about, but he rarely ever talks about it. He gets so off topic during class, he repeats himself, and he never thinks he's wrong. Easy class, if you don't listen to anything he says. Go by the syllabus, not his words. He's not helpful, and he made this class more stressful than anything.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2016-07-28

Comments:1350 - This class is an easy A. if you have too much on your plate and you just want a blow off class, i suggest taking sadler. He cancelled class at least once a week this whole semester, you can study 10 min before class for the quizzes and ace them, gives reviews for each test detailing exactly whats going to be on them, and always curves quizzes and tests. Granted, you won't learn anything on christianity. He takes forever to explain things, always goes on tangents, sends out too many emails, leaves you slightly confused because there is no structure to his class. But again, easy A. he's a good man, truly cares for his students and eager to help. but his teaching ability or lack of will leave you slightly frustrated.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2016-05-01

Comments:1310 - One of the nicest professors I've ever had. HOWEVER, he is not the best teacher. He definitely knows his stuff, and when he actually does teach It's very informative. But he spends at least 30 minutes of class a day giving "announcements" over and over and over. It's the same announcements every day and he gets very off track. But once he gets on track everything is great. Sadler also has some medical issues, so he ends up cancelling/dismissing class early a lot. He's a great guy and cares for his students, he can just get off topic very easily.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2015-11-19

Comments:1350 - You really have to make an effort to not get an A in this class. I zone out the whole class time and then just read the chapters/skim the outlines the night before the exam, and I still get a high A. He curves heavily, and he is overall a sporadic and unorganized person, who knows that he is an easy A teacher.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2015-11-09

Comments:REL 1350 - Great dude. Awesome class it was probably one of my favorites at Baylor. You really don't spend time doing boring things like remember dates and facts but the class is often an open discussion and Sadler's tests always get curved. BY FAR the best option for Christian Heritage, take him if you can.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2015-05-19

Comments:1350 - Excellent teacher, knows how to simplify his explanations to non-Christians, and also knows how to expand knowledge to Christians. This is the nicest man you will ever meet, he is sick a lot but still makes an effort to come and help his children despite his medical conditions. His class is simple, just pay attention and you will do fine. He use to be a pastor so he knows what he is doing unlike other teachers in Baylor's religion department.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2014-11-23

Comments:Heritage - I read all the reviews before taking Sadler's class and thought "Oh it can't be that bad". I was wrong. As someone who is extremely uninterested in religion, even I am frustrated by the lack of teaching in this class. It is the 7th week of class and I can only think of two lectures he has given that actually cover Christian Heritage. Mostly, he talks about his health problems or how this class is going to be in the future for an hour and fifteen minutes. We've had two opinion-based response papers (1 page) and random students have been selected to read theirs, and then stand in front of the class as other students comment on what they agree or disagree on. We have had one test, which turned out to be over 5 chapters in the book (material that was not taught). We were expected to teach ourselves. Sadler all in all seems like a nice guy, but he should not be teaching. Has it been nice to not have a heavy workload in Heritage this semester? Sure. But the time spent wanting to pull my hair out as I try to figure out what the hell is going on in this class is far more frustrating and outweighs the "easiness" of it.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2014-10-07

Comments:1350 - This class was extremely frustrating. We wasted so much time in class, mostly talking about what we talked about last time or what we would do in the future. I learned nothing in Sadler's class besides stuff I read in the book. He cancelled class a lot which was fun the first couple of times but then got frustrating because I felt like it was such a waste to be paying for. He went over what would be on the final again and again and he acted like we were dumb. He is also dishonest; he basically gave us most of the answers to the departmental exam so that we would do well as a class and he would look like a good teacher. DON'T TAKE HIM.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2014-08-11

Comments:Heritage - Ok so sadler is a ok guy himself. Apart from his personality, his tests are beyond stupid : 1 test- 50 T/F , 2 test- all open response , 3 test- we didn't even have one because he lacked material for a test. And for the final he gave us the answers to the departmental final and told us to not tell any one because he would probably get in trouble. He gave us the departmental final because we never covered any thing that was what the department thought we should learn in a semester. He gave us soooooooo much extra credit it was embarrassing. Even gave us 6 bonus pts. for our second test because it took him so long to post the grades, What! The class is a waste because most of the time he will either cancel class or dismiss it 1 hour early. This man is senile, he talked for a whole class period on which WHITE WINE has the most alcohol in it to put him to sleep at night. So if you don't care about religion (like most of baylor's students) and don't want to come to class most days and get a copious amount of bonus points take him before baylor decides he is un fit to teach like he is!  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2014-07-04

Comments:Christian Heritage - One word to describe Saddler and this class...inconsistent. He cancelled so many classes that we could do our third exam due to talk of material. Don't know why everyone says he so easy, because his tests can be pretty tricky. Class is pointless, he just rambles about the same things over and over, and tests consists of key terms from chapters and outlines. He's a very nice guy, but not the greatest professor.  - Grade In Class:B+

Comments:1350 - This is an excellent professor to get an easy UNDERSTANDING of the history of church. However, if you are too churchy, it may hurt your feelings… For that, you have all the professors who make you read 60 pages between lectures so that you are almost ready to become a monk or a nun.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1305 - Her -- So I took Sadler because I knew he was going to be easy, and If I had to choose again I would do the same thing. It just sucks that he is a horrible teacher, I'm not complaining that I didn't learn anything (and I really didn't learn anything). I'm upset about how he doesn't take his job seriously. He will say grades will be posted on a certain day and then two weeks later "Oh yeah, sorry about that I still need to post those" Even with the final, grades are required by the university to be submitted at a specific time and he still doesn't do it. He basically asked us to write our evaluations a certain way so that he wouldn't look bad. And then he gave the class an extra credit essay and told the people who did it that we was just going to give everyone the extra credit because he didn't feel like reading the papers.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:Heritage - HANDS DOWN MOST AWESOME PROF EVER. His class was such a relief to go to. The very first day he said "This class is for incoming freshman, and that's how I teach it" those who have posted about not learning anything blah blah, hush. Sadler has a wealth of information on the topics that the teaches about, ask more questions if you really need more lecturing. He used to be a pastor for goodness sakes! I've never enjoyed a class so much-- this semester he's cancelled class about five times. I would marry him  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1350 - Pros: no homework, ever. Cons: exceedingly boring; probably boring material to start out with, but Sadler doesn't help matters. He let us go over our Scantrons after tests and we'd usually find a couple questions he'd keyed wrong. What the heck, attention to detail?! The times when he told us we could leave early but to secretively walk out the back door of Tidwell were amusing.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1350 - This class was a disgrace, really. I took it because I knew that it would be extremely easy. And it was. In fact, many of the classes we talked about what we would be doing in the future and never actually did anything during that class. We also got quite a few classes off. However, the class was a waste of time and I do not recommend anyone who actually cares about learning taking it.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:Rel Ethics - This was the worst class I have ever taken and even though I got an A I did not learn a single thing and was board out of my mind. It was a super frustrating class and professor and I would tell anyone who actually likes to learn to not take his classes. It was horrible!!!  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1350 - I was actually very excited about taking this class, as I love learning about the history of the church. Sadler did a decent, albeit skimmed over, walkthrough of Catholic history for the first half of the semester. After that, he turned it over to the students to finish the rest. For bonus points, he offered to let students do presentations on random aspects of Christianity. Some of the student presenters were decent "teachers" and picked interesting and relevant topics, like Calvinism, religion and medicine, or changing family values. The rest of the presenters just babbled on like it was an 8th grade book report, and Sadler just sat by and watched. This went on for the last probably 5 weeks of the semester. I didn't appreciate that Sadler was delegating his job to people who had no clue what they were talking about, taking away from what I had thought would be an intriguing and informative class. Other than the fact that he wasted my time and curiosity, it was an easy class. Go over your in class notes and skim through the few readings he assigns, and you'll get an A. If you want an actual education, take someone else.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1350 - Take Dr. Sadler if you want an easy class. Don\'t take him if you want to work really hard and \"feel accomplished\". I took him because I needed an A, but I still learned a lot and it challenged some of my own religious beliefs. Just take him. He gives 4 tests, but one was a take-home essay that was mainly summarizing a reading then giving a personal reflection. No quizzes, no homework - but you don\'t need it. He offers many extra credit opportunities. Basically, if you write half a page typed up about a certain topic we\'ve recently discussed, you get 2-5 points on your test grade for that section. He gives you that on every section!! Then the last test you could do those PLUS present to the class about an interesting religious topic and get another 5 points on your test. If you show up to class and listen 50% of the time (facebook the other 50% or do accounting homework like I did), do the extra credit he offers, your average will be either an A, or above a 100, which is what mine was.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1310 - This man is very organized and kind of an idiot sometimes. I cannot pay attention to this man and if your not of the Christian Background, I highly recommend you NOT take this class bc you won't understand what the heck he is saying. He just lectures no notes or powerpoints. I hated this class and I have no idea how I managed to pull an A. However if you do have Christian Background, your guaranteed to make no less than a B. The mans pathetic and all his test are T/F. Offers very little extra credit cause there is only 4 tests in the class. Decent teacher to fulfill and gay University Requirement.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2011-12-16

Comments:1310 - This class was a waste of my time; I'm pretty sure my IQ dropped during the course of the semester. I'm sure Sadler is a nice man, but he's unorganized and apathetic. Tests were a little tricky because they were mostly True/False, but he'd give 2-10 "grace" points for every exam for bad questions/just because. If you don't want to learn anything and pad your GPA, Sadler's your man. If you want to get the most for your Baylor buck, take someone else.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2011-12-13

Comments:1350 - As many people have said below, the class was extremely easy. Dr. Sadler doesn't emphasize grades in his class and really just likes to discuss things with his students. He gives out a LOT of extra credit that is probably not even needed at all. I made a 102 in the class with minimal studying. Just skim the reading for the words he gives you, put them on notecards and study for an hour. IF YOU DON'T MAKE AN A IN THIS CLASS DROP OUT OF BAYLOR NOW!  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2011-12-06

Comments:REL 1350 - This class was very easy. This is actually my second time taking this class so I know how it is taught from a serious professor and Sadler.. if you want to learn stuff then take someone else. I know.. most people don't care about that and I am usually like that too but it was seriously aggravating knowing how little his students learn compared to others. But anyways.. this class is just 4 tests. I reviewed the material the night before for a little bit and made mid-90s on all tests. He'll give you free points just for the sake of it on tests, he'll throw questions out the next day, he'll give you free 2 points for attendance on certain days. He gives you the exact terms you need to know from the readings and that is all you need to know so you do not actually have to read the passages, just skim for the word. He'll even tell you the page number for a lot of them. The last section of class at the end of the year when he goes over contemporary christianity was actually pretty interesting though. I didn't figure it would be so that was a surprise. He'll bring cookies to class sometimes and he's a very nice guy. I would take him if you want a chill teacher and not much work.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1310 - This class was very easy. Take it if you don't want any homework. Dr. Sadler means well, he just isn't very organized so not a lot gets done in class. The tests are a little tricky since there aren't a lot of notes to test over. The tests are all true and fall with some multiple choice.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2011-05-14

Comments:1304 - This class is a joke. I wish I had taken another professor. I learned nothing in this class and I feel like it was a waste of my time. Dr. Sadler is a cool guy and all, but don't take his class if youre an A/B student. You will be bored out of your mind.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2011-05-06

Comments:1310 - I never did any studying or homework and I, like most of the class, received an A. I didn't learn anything but to be honest I didn't want to. A great, easy way to fulfill a university requirement  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1310 & 1350 - I never studied and sometimes would show up to class and I got a B in this class. Need I say more.  - Grade In Class:B

Date: 2010-12-17

Comments:1310 - Sadler is a nice man, and his class is pretty easy. However, there is so little that we actually need to learn in class, it's a little difficult to prepare for tests because you never really know what's going to be on it. But, if you have any prior knowledge of the Bible his class is not hard. There was no homework or quizzes besides studying for the tests. I really liked him and would definitely take him again.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2010-12-13

Comments:Scriptures - Sadler truly is as easy as people say he is. Just study some definitions and pay attention in class, and you'll do fine. I've never opened a bible and constantly fell asleep in class, and still managed to get a B.  - Grade In Class:B

Comments:Heritage - Sadler gets worse and worse every year. I had him last year for Scriptures as well. It is not that he is a bad teacher or anything. He is just VERY disorganized (of which he is the first to admit) but this makes it really difficult to follow him and figure out what will be on the tests. We covered about half the material we were supposed to. Read the chapters for the test and know the bold terms. As for the lectures, good luck. Half the exam is on book material, and half is on lecture material. It is mainly true and false and is a little tricky. He does curve a little though. People say he's easy, but I beg to differ.   - Grade In Class:B+

Date: 2010-05-12

Comments:1310 and 1350 - I had Sadler for 1310 and 1350. Sadler is not as easy as people say he is. You do actually have to read the textbook (or at least define the key terms) and go to class and take notes (or get notes from a friend). He was a very friendly professor who really wanted his students to do well. His class time is spent all lecturing which some people really dislike. There is always a couple chapters of readings from the textbook on the exams. If you define the key terms and take notes in class it is not hard to make an A. There are always a few bad questions on his exams, but if we bring it to his attention he usually gives us back points for them. The tests are all true/false (sometimes multiple choice) Half the tests are lectures and the other half is key terms from the textbook. Going to the review sessions before exams were also good because it helped cut out useless material in prep for the exams. Just go to class and take notes and you will be fine.   - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1310 - absolutely a waste of my time. I actually enjoy learning about religion, REAL religion, and he just talked about his opinions on everything instead of teaching us what real scholars or books say. sure, it was pretty easy, but I would rather learn good information and contain it all to help me in my future than listen to what he thinks about everything and how what he says is the only right opinion. religion majors: take a different teacher. he ruined this class for me. people who want a slacker class and don't care if an egotistical "professor" pushes his views on the world on you: sadlers your man.  - Grade In Class:B

Date: 2009-12-15

Comments:1310 - Sadler is a mixed bag in my opinion. He has good days and bad days. I feel the course is based on his opinions of the bible, and not the content, and he will lecture about METAPHORS until you are sick of the word.I didnt get an A because I am lazy and never studied. If you actually review the material, I think you will do well  - Grade In Class:B+

Date: 2009-12-07

Comments:REL 1304 - To be frank, I think a lot of you people are too hard on Sadler. In my opinion, Sadler was a good professor who actually KNEW there were people who actually didn't care about learning scripture. As he says he is more a preacher than an instructor, so don't really expect riveting conversations on scripture or its interpertation. It would be a lie to state thtat this class isn't boring. However, it is more irratating than boring. THere are students who hate this class and are continously talking over Sadler which can be VERY annoying. The class is mainly boring, because as he says it is not clear what he is suppossed to teach in this class. In overall, we only read a few chapters from Genesis and the Gospel of Luke. His tests are not very hard or challenging, however they do REQUIRE you to be in class every period. I really want to emphasize this because Sadler while say things that are his analysis on the Bible which you will not find anywhere else but in class. Unlike what others have said, his views on religion is a breath of fresh air. His political correctness is also another way of not getting in trouble with complaints. If you want to learn a lot of scripture, don't take Sadler. But if your happy with an easy grade for one of your requirments there really is no one better than Sadler.   - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1310 - I loved this class! Okay so he's got some pretty different ideas. but who cares! It was an easy class, and I never had to do any work. His tests are so easy, (that doesn't mean you don't need to study). Don't get me wrong, I studied just as much for his tests as I did for my more difficult class. But his tests are straight forward. It is so simple because he hands out these lecture notes and you basically fill in the blanks, and that's pretty much your test. (along with reading out of the book and vocabulary terms). If you go to his review sessions the thursday before the test on Monday, he basically summarizes exactly what will be on the exam. SO EASY. I watched my roommate and neighbor struggling to pass their tests in religion that didn't have Sadler, and they were so jealous that I hardly did anything for his class and I still made A's. TAKE HIM TAKE HIM TAKE HIM!   - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2009-11-17

Comments:1310 - Dr. Sadler is too intent on being politically correct to give a decent lecture. Everything he says is extremely repetitive. The class is dull, and he plays favorites. The class is easy but agonizing. There are always a few really bad questions on the test, so it's impossible to get a high A.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2009-11-15

Comments:1350 - If you want an easy A, take someone else. Save your time. Save your soul. You will be bored out of your mind. True, all tests are true/false, but they actually are a lot harder than multiple choice, because your goal is not to know the material, but rather to interpret Sadler's view of the material. He will come out and say, "I don't have time to respond to you, don't send me any e-mails," and he'll spend half the class elaborating on NOT sending him e-mails. Really, do NOT take this "professor," however he got to be that way.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:both fresh REL classes - Alright, I know that everyone on here thinks that Sadler is crazy or weird or something. The thing is, I know from some personal inside source that his life isn't turning out quite the way he wanted. I'd say take him if you fall in one of the following categories and don't otherwise: If you want an easy A, if you are taking a lot of other really difficult classes, if you care nothing about religion, or if you know nothing about Christianity and don't really care that much to know. Beyond that, i'd say be grateful for your A, enjoy being in class with Athletes, don't go in expecting that Athletes are going to get special treatment cause they really don't, and don't think that Sadler is being rude, thats just the way that he talks to people, he genuinely loves his students.   - Grade In Class:A

Comments:Christian Scriptures 1310 - Okay, so I know there are a lot of mixed reviews on Sadler, but here’s my take on him. If you want to actually learn religion, but have a difficult time achieving an A, then take someone else. If you want an insane person that thinks he is god teaching you religion and you don’t have to work that hard for an A, then take Sadler. I had him for scriptures and it was literally one of the MOST boring classes I have ever taken. Often times I wondered if any theology I was learning was even correct. He has this annoying little habit called “chasing rabbits” where he goes off on tangents that have nothing to do with Religion. Actually most of the time they have to do with sex, which makes things really weird and uncomfortable. At the beginning of the semester he went into to detail about his imaginary friend “Hebrew Harry.” I figured he was just chasing a rabbit, but HEBREW HARRY WAS ACTUAALLY ON THE TEST. I wish I was kidding. He would even come up with these insane notions that he was the only right in the world. He would constantly say “All the other profs are wrong and I’M RIGHT.” This condescension quickly became maddening. Although, the one really great thing about his class is there is little to no reading. This is great because the other Scriptures classes have to read like the whole Bible. But I recommend not even reading what he assigns if you have a basic knowledge of the Bible because almost all of the questions on the tests are on lectures. Although at the end of the semester he threw everyone for a loop by adding two 50 page books that we had to read for the 3rd & 4th test. These were annoying because he asked very specific questions from them so you should actually read them (Still better than reading the whole Bible I guess). There are 3 tests and a final. They are each 25% of your grade so if you royally screw up on one test then it is almost impossible to get an A. The tests are 50 True/False questions, which as everyone knows is the WORST possible way to test. The best way to go about these tests is to think logically. Put true as an answer unless the question seems really outlandish. Like I said earlier, the questions mostly come from his idiotic lectures, for example a question would say, “Like Dr. Sadler said in class…” This may seem completely conceited and arrogant way to test. IT IS. But if you go along with it by going to class (even though he doesn’t take attendance, Resist the urge to skip!) you can most likely pull off an easy A. There were a few extra credit opportunities that helped me a lot. I recommend doing them if you had time. The best one was we got 2 points on a test just for showing up for class the day before Easter which raised my 88 to a 90. So in short, the old saying “Take Sadler he’s easy” should be prefaced with “If you want to die of boredom while listening to an extremely egotistical man with toupee-like hair then take Sadler he’s easy.”   - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1350 - I had Sadler 2 semesters in a row. The 1310 class was not bad, but next semester he was even worse. Sadler is said to be the easy professor, but not as much in the 1350 class. He is very rude to students and treats you with little respect at times. He contradicts himself sometimes though in the sense that he tries to be politically correct and not offend people of other religious beliefs. His approach is detrimental and effects the information recieved. He is a teacher of Christian Heritage yet someties he seems as if he's trying to pacify and agree with all other religions. He is frustrating and often mixes up and records the wrong grades. KEEP TRACK OF EVERY TEST! There is a good chance something might be misrecorded and it takes weeks to months to get the correct grade. Do not email him several times, or even once. He is easily irritated by this and if you talk to him in person after emailing, he will be irritated with you there as well. If there is a problem with your grade, talk to him every other class day until it gets resolved. Do not give up! Also, for 1350 there is a fair amount taken from the book and it's important to read the chapters and vocab. His tests are true false and often contain tricky wording or words that aren't spelled correctly. Also, sometimes his grammar is atrocious and can add to the intentional trickiness of the question. Overall, not a good professor and poor teaching ability. Yes it's a little workload, but I'm wishing I had taken someone else now and maybe actually learned something.  - Grade In Class:B

Comments:1350 - He's easy, but you pay for it. His lectures are boring, he plays favorites, and he can be a jerk sometimes. But if your willing to put up with that to get a good grade go for it. He has 3 tests and a final. So if you mess up even one test your chances of making an A pretty much dissappear.  - Grade In Class:B

Comments:1350 - he's easy i had him both semesters i got a on both of them... he doesn't take attendance so you can go when you want just get the notes from someone, he's not that focus and he will go off on random topics but it will be ok.... the class is kind of boring try to stay up and him at 8am is even worse but if you get him in the afternoon you'll be able to stay up... take sadler he's easy!  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1350 - I don't think Sadler is as easy as what people say. Their comments about Sadler being easy made me think the class is going to be a breeze, but NOT TRUE. I feel sorry for myself to come to class sometimes, because his lecturers are so boring and elementary level. He doesnt take attendance that much, and you can actually not come to class at all as long as you can get lecture notes from someone. His t/f questions are tricky and confusing because his concepts are so hard to grasp. He thinks in his own ways, and if you do not work your mind to think the way he thinks, YOU WILL GET THE T/F QUESTIONS WRONG ** doesn't matter how hard you study. I'd choose other professors in the same course because you learn absolutely nothing from sadler; waste of time.  - Grade In Class:B+

Comments:1310 - It's true, Dr. Sadler is easy. He doesn't make you read the entire bible like a lot of other professors do. But I didn't feel like I learned that much, and he was kind of rude when it came to helping me. You don't have a lot of work, but that means that you have to do well on everything you do.   - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1310 - Sadler is easy like everyone says but easy doesn't mean you don't learn anything. He to me teaches the bible in a different way. He teaches to where you can understand the confusing stories in the bible. He also teaches the bible in a way that relates to present day. His test are easy but you do still need to study like any other class. His test are also T/F which can be tricky if you didnt study at all. He likes to joke and make class fun to listen to. Its said to be hard to get into his class because all athletes pick him first. I got lucky getting his first semester freshman year but if you can wait and take him later do so. It will help you out in the long run.  - Grade In Class:B+

Comments:REL 1310 - Saddler is a very funny guys. His class was pretty good I must say. He made it entertaining and real easy. Unlike other profs, we never had to write essays or do PAGES of reading. The only thing we read the entire year were like 3 chapters of the Bible, and that was rather enjoyable. He gives you notes to fill in during class, and that's pretty much all you need to stuyd for tests. The tests are a little tricky cause they're all T/F, which is why I got a B, but other than that this is the way to go. He skipped class 7 times :) I wish I would've had him for 1350... I had Weaver and did really bad... Anyway, TAKE HIM!!!!!!!!!!!!!  - Grade In Class:B

Date: 2008-11-27

Comments:1350 - I had heard this class would be an easy A, but it really wasn't. The tests are 50 questions true/false, 70 points comes from the lecture and 30 comes from vocabulary words out of the reading he assigns. Dr. Salder cancels class a lot, and we got out early a lot. I was expecting this class to be significantly easier than it was though based on what I had been told and there was quite a bit more work than I had anticipated.  - Grade In Class:B+

Comments:Heritage - Easy, easy, easy, easy! Did I mention he was easy? He is so easy you should feel silly if you DON'T make at least a B+. You could never go to class and still make an A. If you want a good grade, take Sadler he's easy. If you want to learn something, take someone else.   - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2008-06-28

Comments:1350 - Compared to other professors you def. do not learn as much. However, you pretty much don't do anything in this class. You must go to his lectures in order to do well and pay very close attention because his tests can be worded very tricky. I was always unsure of how I did on the tests because they were T/F questions but I always ended up doing well. He has a quirky sense of humor but it's not intolerable. Good guy.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2008-05-23

Comments:1350 - I know people have said that Sadler is easy, but he tends to get off subject a lot. If you are a person who needs a more organized course, you should take another professor. If you like to hear stories during class about something that has nothing to do about religion, you might actually enjoy his class.  - Grade In Class:C

Date: 2008-02-19

Comments:1350 - Sadler talks about himself in the third person and frequently contradicts himself. If he didn't give you a lecture outline, you'd have absolutely NO idea what to take notes on or what's important. His class itself is quite boring...I felt like he just likes to hear himself talk. In terms of his tests, they're 50 true/false questions: 40 from his lecture, 10 from the vocab words at the end of certain chapters. He tends to throw in a few questions on the test on his opinion of something: i.e. "Dr. Sadler agrees with..." If you enjoy learning about religion, don't take him. He gets almost everything mixed up and wrong. I suppose he's an easy A. He always gave some kind of points back on tests and he doesn't count attendance against you. If you're an athlete, he puts you on a freaking pedestal and gives you an automatic A even if you don't fill in anything on the test. He's so biased it's unbelievable. So if you're looking for an intellectual, eye-opening religion class...keep looking. If you're looking for a class where you feel like you're getting more and more stupid each minute, take a seat.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1350 - Sadler’s heritage class was a much easier class than scriptures, and I thoroughly enjoyed having Dr. Sadler another semester. There is no reading the text block in his heritage class, so the amount of reading in heritage is very little. He really takes the time to make the students interested in the material, and he tells stories during class that make students remember the necessary concepts. He goes slow through his lectures and usually repeats the important concepts. The textbook for the class isn’t that well-written, but he doesn’t use it near as much as other religion professors. The tests consist of true/false questions from both his lectures and a set of terms from the textbook. The tests can be tricky, but just make sure you read the entire true/false question before making an answer selection. Define the required terms from the textbook by writing down the two sentences before, during, and after the boldfaced term in the chapter. Don’t just memorize their glossary definitions, as he sometimes puts material from the term that was found when it was first presented in the actual text that the glossary may not include. Depending on the grades on the tests, he usually throws out some questions if enough people miss them and curves the test a few points. Take good notes in class and get to know him, and you will do great in this class. He is a professor with a great heart and will even teach you things in his class that you will remember for the rest of your life. See my review on the scriptures class above (the long review posted 2007-05-03) for more information.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1310 - Sadler is a good teacher. His class is easy, as long as you take good notes during class. His tests are all true/false, but he usually ends up throwing out many of the questions. The tests are mainly over lecture notes, but there are a few vocab words thrown in there, so study the vocab from the chapters. He never gives quizzes.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:Scriptures - Wow.....I hated this class with such a passion. To me it was a joke, I would skip class and sometimes walk out in the middle of lectures and it didn't matter. He thought up ways to give the students who wanted high grades what they didn't deserve. I never read and did other work in class. I am a respectful student but I had a hard time in this course keeping my mouth shut. It was very boring, repetitive, and at time he was flat out wrong. When he says he is going to "chase a rabbit" RUN FOR THE HILLS!!! He will never shut up! He just isn't the sharpest nail in the tool shed. This was the most disgusting A I ever made, but it is an A.   - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1350 - Sadler kicks butt! If you want to take a class with min stress, then take him for 1310 or 1350. I didn't read the book, hence the B+, but really this class is an easy A. People say all this crap about him being "unfair" and a "horrile teacher," but anyone who says that is just a complainer! There is nothing wrong with taking a more liberal and relaxed approach to religion, of course Sadler does that well. Remember: TAKE SADLER AT ALL COST!!!!!!!!  - Grade In Class:B+

Comments:1310 - Dr. Sadler is a really nice guy, and his lectures are entertaining and interesting. However, I think there is this big misconception with how easy he is. Maybe he was super easy in the past, but he has currently been reprimanded for being too easy. This semester his class was certainly challenging. It is easy to make a C in the class, but it is difficult to make an A in the class. You really have to take extremely good notes from his lectures, which mean basically trying to write down every word he says. I missed a couple of questions on the first exam because I missed like one statement under a section in the lecture outlines. Despite his interesting presentation of the Bible, his disorganization is his biggest downfall. It took me over a month after we had taken the first exam for me to finally schedule an opportunity with him to look at my first exam. Furthermore, his graduate assistants really have absolutely no clue what they are doing. They are responsible for making up the textbook portions of the tests. They make them really hard compared to the review Dr. Sadler gives out for them, and on the second exam, the graduate student formulated questions over material that we were not responsible for reading. The good thing is that the majority of those questions ended up not counting against us once Dr. Sadler realized the big mistake his graduate student made. He is indeed fair enough to correct his own mistakes. Nonetheless, Dr. Sadler does want to help his students make the grade they want. Please schedule an appointment with him to talk to him if you are concerned about your grade. He will listen to you and try to help you out. When I finally was able to talk to him about my first exam, I explained to him some of the confusions I had with some of the questions, and he ended up giving me the points back for two questions. Your grade in the class only consists of two tests and then the final exam, so it is important that you study hard and do well on each of the tests if you want to make a good grade. The tests consist of 50 true/false questions. They are unfortunately not multiple-choice. Dr. Sadler feels that true/false questions are the easiest because you have a 50 percent chance of getting them right. However, I think the true/false questions make the material more confusing and some of them can certainly be tricky. My biggest suggestion would just be to read the questions very carefully but not to read into them too much. If you are getting hung up on a tiny detail that you think may make a question false, it probably doesn’t make it false. As a general statement, there are usually more false questions on the test than true questions, so if you have to guess, I would actually go with false on his tests. Dr. Sadler also holds test review sessions, which can be a big help to quickly review all of the material. Sometimes at the review sessions, he even cuts out some material that you don’t need to know from the notes, and this can, of course, greatly reduce your overall study time. The final is not worth any more than the first two tests, but it requires the writing of a covenant essay. The essay part of the final will not be hard as long as you have been in class most of the time through the semester and perform some memorizing before you take the exam. You know what the essay question on the final is going to be at the beginning of the semester, and Dr. Sadler does a good job of covering and repeating the points you need to include in the final covenant essay. Dr. Sadler will also usually offer some form of extra credit. This semester, he offered a “covenant” to his students, which involved some textbook reading, essay writing of the textbook reading, study logs, and perfect attendance. That extra credit was a lot of work, but students would be able to raise their grade by a letter if they completed all parts of the “covenant” assignment. Dr. Sadler will certainly spark your interest in scripture, and I would highly recommend taking him if you can get into one of his sections. And, if his class is already closed and you really want to try and take him, contact the religion department chair to see if he can grant you a closed slip. This is how I got into Dr. Sadler’s Heritage class, which I am luckily taking next semester. Best of luck!   - Grade In Class:A

Comments:REL 1350 - Ok- take sadler, he's easy. He knows it, he's freaking cocky about it too. Yes, he's easy and basically handed me a B+ so I could cop out of class mid semester, BUT his lectures are awful, makes up random statistics & sometimes just doesn't make sense. Baylor is standardizing this course so he might not be here anyway, but prepare to be miserable & take sadler. Mid semester, he has "meetings" and asks you what you want to make in the class. Ace Tests 1 & 2 and you're done for the class with an auto A.  - Grade In Class:B+

Comments:Rel 1350 - Sadler is the easiest teacher at Baylor. It actually makes me mad because I gained litterally no knowledge in this class & watched athletes go magically from Ds to As. His class is a disgrace to Baylor's reputation because it shows how far away from a Teir 1 school we are---IF THAT HASN'T DISPELLED YOU, Take him. Comments:1350 - On the first day of class, he told us that he was the easiest religion teacher in the department, and it's true. But he is also a really good teacher. He has people check his tests to make sure that there is nothing on the test that he did not teach in class, and if any seemingly devious questions are found, he throws them out. He assigned very little reading and I barely had to study to do well. Definitely take him for religion!  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1310 - I think Sadler pretty much sucks as a professor. He always think he is right about a certain topic while all other religion teachers at Baylor are wrong. He will also spend a ton of time repeating and explaining some of the most worthless things ever, which gets extremely annoying. The exams are hard if you don't keep up with class notes and your bible reading. It mostly consists of some very tricky T/F questions, so keep up if you want an A, which is a 93 or above.   - Grade In Class:A

I went to class every day, paid attention and did the extra credit and I scraped by with an A.. yes, he is easy and he gives alot of walks.. but don't be prepared for an automatic A.. just about all of his tests consist of mainly T/F which can be tricky for people who don't know the material.. a very quirky guy who wont quite make you think about christian scriptures, but rather it will make you think about why Baylor thinks people care about learning it.. take sadler if you are content with making a B+ or are willing to work a little harder for an A.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:Scriptures - Do not take Sadler. Yes, he is easy, but he changes his grading scale. I got a 91 which is a B in his class. Tests have ridiculous info on them that you never learned about, and you have to listen to him explain what he's about to say for 20 minutes before he even says it. We only did about half of the stuff we were suppose to do during the semester. He has review sessions before every test, but they accomplish nothing. His final was 45 true/false questions and 5 multiple choice. If you care to waste time and guess on everything, then take this class. If you like to actually learn SOMETHING...take another class. His final is difficult. The harris book readings help your grade some how. Also you dont need to do any of the extras in his class, they arent for grades. Comments:1310 Scriptures - Prof. Sadler is amazing. His class is pretty easy, which is why most people want to take him, but you can learn a lot if you want to. To do well in the course you only have to memorize a timeline and the Babylonian creation story. Sadler is always willing to help students and will stay in his office as late as 9 pm if he has to. The only problem is he has something like 100,000,000 students, so he probably won't remember your name. But he is a nice guy and will do his best to help you make a good grade. The grading scale is the worst part: you have to get a 93 or above for an A. Comments:REL1310 - If you jot a few notes and skim through the Harris textbook and some of the reading material you'll be okay. He has like 3 exams before finals. The tests weren't really that hard if you skimmed over the stuff. The tests are only multiple choice this year (2005), because our classroom was pretty large, so essays would've made it impossible to get our grades back.   - Grade In Class:B+

If you are really interested in learning about the Bible, I wouldn't recommend Sadler because he doesn't do a whole lot of actual teaching. If you make high A's on your first 2 tests (which arent hard at all if you review your notes a few times) then he doesn't even make you take the final! All i had to do for a final was make up one for the other students to take! It was great! Take good notes in class though, and try not to talk because that is a pet peeve of his and he will embarrass you if you get on his nerves enough. His lectures are sometimes interesting, but I ususally get bored 30 minutes in. To make a B all you have to do study the notes for the test and know them pretty well.  - Grade In Class:B

Comments:1310 - Sadler is the best teacher I hae had by far here at Baylor. He can be boring at times but as long as you pay attention you will get atleast a B. My GPA was a 1.9 so I think you can see how good of a teacher Sadler was.   - Grade In Class:B+

Comments:1310 - Why does everyone complain...SADDLER'S CLASS IS GOOD. period! It's hard enough that religion is a requisite, so take Saddler's class, pay attention, read...and you WILL make an easy A. Best of all, this class WILL help your GPA;not bad for a dumb required course. Yes, i thought his views were twisted at times, but just do the bloddy work and you'll get by easily.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1350 - From what I've heard, you definitely want to take Sands, even if you have work. Although we pretty much had no work in Sadler's class, every 90 minutes was just sheer agony. He repeats himself a million times about the smallest things, tries so hard to be politically correct, and tells the most pointless stories. He treats his students like we are retarded sometimes, repeating instructions about 5 times through, and he is just the biggest time waster ever. Take a teacher that actually teaches you while you enjoy it, because you ain't gonna find it here.  - Grade In Class:B+

Comments:1310 - Ok, I don't know what some of these other people are talking about, but if you want to do absolutely nothing for a grade, take Sadler. I was not raised with a religious background, so "learning" something in the class was not that important to me. It is a required course at Baylor, so I had no choice. I failed it my first semester with another prof and I got a 30 in the class. In Sadler's class I almost made a B, but came up a bit short. I didn't study any more, or try any harder, he is just that easy. Half of the test is multiple choice, and the other half is True/False. If you like going into a test and "winging it" this is your dream. I never thought I would see a True/False test again after Elementary School. Sadler is a Saint.  - Grade In Class:C

Comments:REL 1350 - Ok so you would think that I would absolutely be raving about Sadler since I barely studied for his class, didn't have to buy a textbook, and easily made an A. However... I really DO NOT RECOMMEND HIM!!! He treats his students like they're retarded, and his class is not a good use of your tuition dollars. Take Sands instead! Sadler's lectures are boring. He repeats himself a BAZILLION times and has the biggest, hick accent that totally gets on your nerves. He just likes to hear himself talk and you're not learning anything of value. I do not recommend him unless you just are DESPERATE for an easy A.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2005-05-10

Comments:1350 - i can't believe some of you people actually like sadler. he thinks he's always right, he treats his students like babies who can't think for themselves, and he is totally unfair. from his tests to his grading scale, he just finds ways to screw us over. for anyone who is considering taking sadler, believe me, don't do it.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2005-05-08

Comments:1350 - DO NOT TAKE SADLER! I made an A, I did absolutely no work, didn't have to buy a textbook, but I hated this class. you have to listen to a ignorant little man tell you how the world works, he keeps you late in class, and he repeats every topic at least five hundred times in the same class period. he treats us like kindergarteners. his tests shouldn't be difficult considering he doesn't talk about anything substantial in class, but somehow he manages to make them impossible because he repeats tests from past semesters and doesn't edit them for things he didn't cover this semester. his questions are worded so that no sane person has any idea what he's talking about. if you care about your grade, take a professor that requires more work but that will be fair, because with sadler, you could be a genius and still not make an A. having to listen to sadler is not worth the easy workload.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2005-05-08

Comments:1310 - If you don't take Saddler for Scriptures IT'S GONNA COST YA!!! He was so easy. This was by far my easiest class all semester. He was a pretty interesting lecturer although he wasn't that high tech. He tried to inform/entertain during class and was fairly sucessful. At times he gets repetitive but it was ok. His tests were super easy as well. I even ended up being exempt from his final. He is very helpful and his office hours are very flexible to fit around your schedule. He has review sessions the night before the test, but I didn't find them very helpful. I mean dang- the test was easy anyway. So the moral of the story is take Saddler for religion!!!  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1350 - If you want to really learn about Christian Heritage and want a good professor who knows a lot about what he's talking about, don't take Sadler. If you want an easy class with no work and just repeating his opinions on tests, then take him. Easy class, but didn't learn a thing.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2005-05-06

Comments:1350 - I expected an easy grade, but that's not what I got. Instead, I got an egotistical professor ranting about his opinions on matters he had no expertise in, like stem cell research. We never got a syllabus, and we never got a textbook. The tests are difficult, and are mostly based on his opinions. In fact, he had the students with the highest grades in the class make up the final. Conclusion: DON'T TAKE SADLER!  - Grade In Class:B

Date: 2005-05-03

Comments:1310 - After the first test, he decided to change the grading scale: 93+ = A. So if you make a B on a test, it is pretty much impossible to bring it up so just accept a B+. The good thing about him is that you don't have to buy the textbook. But an A is possible if you come to class, take good notes, and memorize your notes and dates inside out (usually less than 20 pages for each test)because his tests are fill in the blank and true/false.   - Grade In Class:B+

Comments:Rel 1350 - I loved Dr. Sadler. True, he rambles and sometimes makes no sense. But he is a good guy. He never excludes anyone when he speaks of different perspectives. He is very open minded which is a good good thing. His tests are all lecture based. they are fill in the blank and true false. they are pretty tough if you dont study and know your notes inside out. but the notes are very easy to follow. i highly recommend him.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1310 - It is easy to understand why some people like him, well what i mean is why baylor football players like him because the entire class period consisted of him making analogies from Jesus to football...and talking with the the players in class about their game performance. He is one of those people who loves to hear himself talk, so he'll talk about anything and everything although most of it has to do with his daughters or himself. He's fine i guess but if you are looking for an actual teacher who isn't completely egotistical, go for another prof...plus his tests are hard and he's always late (even though he counts off points for anyone else being like 2 seconds tardy)  - Grade In Class:C

Date: 2005-01-08

Comments:Scriptures - He openly admits in class that the administration has been getting on to him for his grades being too high. I'm sure he was easy before but now he is just trying to give out low grades to save his ass. You had to have a 84 to get a B. 83 was a C+. Only three grades make up your average. DO NOT TAKE HIM!  - Grade In Class:C

Comments:Heritage - I really thought this class was going to be fun. I am an avid fan of religion classes at Baylor and have heard great things about Sadler. Ultimately, my friends and I were all grossly disappoionted with his class. He is biased and grossly misinterprets scripture. To add to that, his tests aren't worth studying for because he always pulls about 4 of the questions out of nowhere resulting in you only managaing to get a B+. Not to mention the fact that he made his own grading rubric that allows for an A to be a 93 or above. I made a 92 on two tests and i only got a B+ in the class. All in All BADDD CLASSS...DO NOT TAKE HIM...take someone better!!  - Grade In Class:B+

Date: 2004-12-22

Comments:1350 - heritage - his tests are really easy if you pay attention in class and write decent notes(names and dates). no homework or quizzes, just 2 test and the final. final is only over what he covered after the 2nd test. he is very helpful especially if you make an appointment and talk to him about your grade. the only thing is that to make an A is a 93, B 83, and so on... TAKE SADLER!!  - Grade In Class:B

Date: 2004-11-16

Comments:REL - He is a good hearted guy, but he gets tired of Baylor always telling at him to give less A's. An "A" in his class is a 93, so it's harder to make one. There is never any homework, so it doesn't take up much time. He talks about his daughters over and over and tries to be too politically correct.   - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1310 - Okay, heres the real deal.. Ignore all the postings below me because those were probable true- BEFORE he got in trouble with the department. Since he was giving out too many easy A's, he got in trouble and now he is making his class much harder. I have a flat 90 average in his class, but now, he raised his A to a 93 AND made the course tougher. His tests are tricky and not multiple choice. You have to fill in the answers and sometimes he even asks for specific verse numbers in the bible!!-- his tests are out there to catch you because he needs to have lower grades now. I went to talk to him about my grade, and he told me "you're right- you're probably not getting an A in my class .. but a B+ is perfectly fine"... Does anybody else see anything wrong with an 90 average and a B+ as a grade???  - Grade In Class:B+

Comments:1350 - Sadler is the best professor at Baylor!! Despite what you may hear the class isnt exactly a blow off, BUT if you listen in class and take good notes the tests are a piece of cake. He sometimes goes off on what he calls "rabbits" but sometimes his "chasing of rabits" are the most interesting things in his class. You dont need to know anything about religion...he explains everything in great detail and NEVER makes you feel stupid or uninformed! Hes a great man...i love him!!!  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:REL 1301 - Dr. Sadler is an awesome professor. I wouldnt go as far to say that you can just stroll right into class on the day of the test and make an A without any real studying. However, he covers so much information in class that if you truly pay attention you are bound to make at least a B. He's really funny and his stories keep me awake in an 8 am class! He's really great to talk to if you mess up on a test and he's very understanding. I love how he doesnt try to offend anyone and is always really careful with his words. Kudos to Dr. Sadler.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:REL 1350 - Had him for heritage if that's the right number. LOVED HIM! I thought he was so good. We NEVER read anything! He hands out outlines that go along verbatim with his lectures. He pretty much tells you what you need to know. Study your notes for about an hour or two the night before the test and you'll be totally fine. I made an A and I didnt have to take the final. I am waiting until the last minute to take scriptures so I can get him again. Good luck getting into his class! He fills up first!  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1301 - I don't know what these people are talking about. I read these raitings and signed up for the class. Now i regret it more than ever. He is definitely not as easy as most people say. He assigns alot of reading, that you must do. His tests are very thorough. You DO have to study, and ALOT for them, I thought I would get by with this class, and have an easy A. YEah, I did all my readings, but they were not enough, I had to study ALOT! If you want a good prof, take obrien  - Grade In Class:C

Comments:REL 1350 - Yeah, he's easy, but all he does is make spurious comments for the entire lecture time. Is he really a Baptist preacher? Sure could have fooled me with some of his comments. I find his teaching methods extremely boring, and while he may care about his students, all I could think about was his strange spouting of random opinions.   - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2004-04-22

Comments:1310 - Here's the real deal: Sadler is an incredibly easy teacher if you fit his profile of the perfect student. He expects more foresight from his students than anyone should. His attitude about some situations in a normal classroom are somewhat anal. Example: cell phones going off, quiz taking. He stresses "the integrity of the quiz" at every single 10-point quiz, which for a TTR class, you have one every Tuesday. The tests are easy, but test you mostly over his opinions (which are shared in his lectures) rather than what the biblical material is. Not too much reading aside from that last minute monday night/tuesday morning cram for the ten point quiz, but every once in a while the reading is big. You have to purchase a packet from the bookstore that has all of the notes in them with places for you to fill in his information. He has a tendency to lose your attention and attempts to keep it by "chasing rabbits." This means he talks about half of the class time about the subject and the other half about "rabbits." Good thing: he will let you sleep in his class as long as you don't disturb anyone else. Bad thing: if you need that extra .05% to make a B or an A and slept, he probably won't give it to you. Overall, he's a decent teacher with a few annoying tendencies. If you want an A without too much work, he may or may not be the right one to take. I'll give a guaranteed B in his class though.  - Grade In Class:C+

Comments:REL 1350 - Easy Easy Class. Take notes and study for an hour the night before the test, and you should do fine. Do well on all of your tests, since he sometimes lets you skip the final if you are happy with your grade. He always talks about how he is a fair guy, but his unequal treatment of *cell phone offenders* seems to contridict his self proclaimed impartiality. Good Grade boosting class.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2004-03-24

Comments:Heritage - TAKE SADLER! Do you want an A? That's what I thought! If you are willing to sit in class and listen enough to fill in the outlines and study no more than 30 min. the night before each test then you can ace Sadler's Heritage class. Easy as pie...numerous walks were given too- and if you're all uptight about the tests he even does a study session before them that you can go to to settle yourself down. Once again- TAKE SADLER!  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:FYS - I took him for the "Ethics of Living and Dying" and I found him to be very nice man. He was very helpful and gave me alot of feedback on my papers. You really only have to do one really big research paper which is a lot of work but if you are interested in your topic- it's not that bad. Plus he gave everyone and A as long as we worked.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:FYS 1399 - If you're thinking about taking Sadler for your FYS - don't do it. Sadler is a really *REALLY* nice guy, but his "Ethics of Living and Dying" class is just terrible. You have to write a 20-25 page research paper that he usually rips apart with his comments. This class requires countless hours in the library researching, and countless hours at the computer writing. This class accounted for 90% of all stress my first semester. Not to mention that the class itself is more boring than you can imagine. The description of the course sounded really interesting to me, and then I took the class. Now whenever anybody so much as says the word "ethics" I get in a bad mood. However, he does let you out early every time, and he gives a lot of walks. SO, if you don't mind working your BUTT off, and you like to talk about the same issue 6,000 times, this class is for you.   - Grade In Class:A

I studied, took notes, and read everyday and still made a freaking 68 in the awful class, it was my first and hopefully last D to ever make in a class. Take Sadler, unless if you want to know what hell is like, then take Weaver  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:REL1320 - I think he is one of the best teachers here at Baylor. I would recommend him for everyone. I was not looking foward in taking religion but he made it really interesting. He also offers review sessions right before the tests so that helps tremendously. Take him, and you will thank me!   - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1310 - This class is easy. Although he gets off the subject at times, everything on the test is discussed in class. He repeats some stuff A LOT, which most likely means that it will show up on the test. I would have gotten a B in the class, but we had the oppurtunity to do Mission Waco, which added a whole letter grade higher on our final grade. Take him if you can.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1306 - Dr. Sadler is a very easy professor! He is very boring, and he "chases a lot of rabbits", but overall he is pretty good. Comments:1301 - he tries to appeal to all people, which is fine but he is trying so hard to be politically correct. first off youre at baylor a baptist school people are used to hearing it dont waste time trying to make them think you're cool and you appeal to everyone. secondly, he isnt the most compassionate person. his lectures, when about the topic are good. he gets off topic easily but he is open to have office hours to talk. but be ready to hear his opinion on everything. im not saying he is a bad person at all, go to the test reviews in miller chapel and read over your notes you are fine. A GREAT THING ABOUT him is he offers ten points on your final grade with mission waco so that is great.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:REL1350 - Sadler's class was the biggest waste of time and money ever. He treats his students like idiots in a first grade Sunday school class. He is extremely easy but why pay over a thousand dollars in tuition so that you can be told a thousand times things you already know. I did not learn one single thing in his Christian Heritage class that I didn't know by the time I was 10. In addition, Sadler is so worried about being a politically correct professor that he wastes literally hours throughout the semester just reminding students that they can believe whatever they want. This is definitely not a university level teacher.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:I took his Christian Heritage class during the summer. It was easy-- mostly memorizing the notes, which should not be difficult since the lectures are pretty straight forward. The lectures could get repetitive and boring for those who have a strong Christian background, but the readings are interesting.

Comments:He is an excellent teacher. The exams in his Christian Heritage class were generally pretty easy as long as you went to the review sessions and looked over your notes. He's a great guy!

Comments:Great professor and class.

Comments:He is easy but be prepared for a sermon...the guy is a baptist preacher all the way.

Comments:BEST TEACHER.... EASY EASY EASY...

Comments:Amazing teacher. Very clear lectures and extremely fair about tests. I am currently in it and I look forward to his classes.

Comments:If you can deal with being completely bored by his lectures than take this guy...yeh there is no homework, but there also is nothing interesting about the class! He repeats everything he says 10 times which is completely annoying!

Comments:Great class. One of my favorites. I really enjoyed being in class and learning about something I thought I already knew a lot about. His presentation of the material is terrific and he does not make you do unnecessary work. There is light reading involved and really easy quizes. Do anything you can to take his class.

Comments:I didn't enjoy his class much at all. It was a very easy A, but he didn't hold my attention at all. He also heavily favors athletes, which gets very annoying. However, it takes no outside time or effort to pass his class.

Comments:Sadler is simply the best. He is the most profoundly brilliant prof that I have ever had. He should get a raise. However, I was most surprised by the rugged good looks of his graduate assistant. Its worth taking his class just to get to see his grad. assistant during tests.

Comments:Had him for Christian Scriptures. Never studied until the night before the test other than readings assigned for quizes, easy ones at that. The reason you don't have to study much is because he holds your attention in class. Take him if you can.

Comments:Great teacher, very easy, just make sure you are okay with getting off the subject.

Comments:Take good notes and study them before every test. He does a great job presenting the information and is willing to help with anything; even personal problems.

Comments:It does not get any better than Dr. Saddler! He is so bright and he never tries to kill you with too much work. I took New Testament and would have done OT with him had the class not been full. He also really cares about his students!!!

Comments:A great professor! I signed up for him next semester as well. A great lecturer, get his points across, and he is a great guy. There is not much daily work either. If you can, sign up for his class.

Comments:You learn everything yet the workload is extremely light. He's my favorite teacher here so far.

Comments:I have to say, Dr.Sadler has been my favorite prof, and i don't even go to church
