Comments:1321 - Do not take this class. he is a horrible teacher. the tests and quizes are nothing like anything he does in class. understanding the material will be of little help if you can't decode his questions. i failed nearly every assignment but was able to get an A on the final because it was departmentalized.  - Grade In Class:B+

Comments:Calculus - This is a very difficult class. If you've never had calculus before, I don't recommend you taking Dr. Tidmore's class. I took calculus in high scool so I was able to do well in the class His tests are nothing like the homework and he will spend most of the time talking about technology (mainly calculators). He's a nice man but is not very effective as a teacher. You also won't find out how your grade will end up in the class until one of the last classes. If you can avoid it, don't take this class. Study your notes very carefully, especially the definitions. He focuses more on the concepts and not how to actually do the problem.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:MTH 1321 - I wouldn't recommend taking him if you haven't taken Calculus before, as he is hard, but his grading scale is awesome, and as long as you do well on the final you'll be fine!  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1309 - Chupa mi verga, vendejo. Hijo de puta. Ojala que muertas una muerte despacio y con mucho dolor!  - Grade In Class:C

Comments:1321 - Ha, this guy is a joke. Baylor fired him the semester after I took him and they decided to leave his name on BUbooks. He deserves a much lower rating than he has.Got a 100 on the first quiz and then, despite my efforts, I didnt get anything above a 45. i love tidmore like i love herpies....  - Grade In Class:C+

Comments:1320 - Be sure to bring a calculator, cause thats what he uses all the time, but i hope it has a self destruct button on there so you can kill you self the first week or hour, whichever is easier. The final can save you though, i had a C at the and and pulled off a B after taking the final.  - Grade In Class:B

Comments:MTH 1321 - I think the only reason I did well in this class was because I took AP Calculus in high school. Prof. Tidmore is a great person, but when he was explaining the material, some of the other students in the class seemed to be just left behind. The tests aren't very bad if you know the material, just make sure you know how to do all of the work. And, the final can save you, but you'll be more prepared for it if you've been keeping up for the whole semester.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1322 - Tidmore is definitely one of the most difficult professors I've ever had. His test are really hard. All you can really do is try and complete all the homework and make perfect scores on the quizzes ( this is not hard, just check your homework at math lab and all is well).Tidmore makes himself available, so make use of his office hours if you are really lost. I got really crappy grades on his tests, but there is hope with the final. Before the final I had a C in the class, and after the final I had a B+. Whatever you put into the class is what you get, although it may not seem that way at first. Good luck.  - Grade In Class:B+

Comments:1322 - holy crap...i've always loved math, but he almost made me reconsider majors. stay away if you can...horrible at teaching.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2004-05-07

Comments:2321 - taking his class is like washing the windows on the 97th floor of the world trade center on 9/11  - Grade In Class:D

Date: 2004-04-14

Comments:Cal 2 - His tests are ridiculous. Even if you can do all the homework problems it won`t help because his tests questions will involve several difficult concepts never discussed in class. I went into the final knowing how to work every homework and previous test question but there were still new concepts he never taught if you can say he teachs at all. AVOID HIM  - Grade In Class:C+

Date: 2004-01-28

Comments:Cal 3 - Do not take this teacher. There are about 10 students in my second Cal 3 class that are having to retake Cal 3 over again. Also, going into the final the class average was around a D i think and also the average for the 3rd test we took was in the 40's.  - Grade In Class:D

Comments:1301 - my experience... I almost cried after every quiz. I study like crazy and I'm good at math. He is a terrible, unfair grader and teacher. The name Tidmore just echoes fear. Taking this class is like jumping into a swimming pool filled with gasoline, then lighting a cigarett- JUST DONT DO IT!  - Grade In Class:F

Comments:2321 - very nice guy...i agree w/ the guy 2 reviews down, it's college, keep up on your work and you'll get by, yeah, he's a tough prof, but there's the final that can be your savior...it's theoretically possible to not take a single exam or quiz all semester, just get the minimum baylor attendance and make an a in the class by making an a on the final...i'm on a study break right now for his final...tests are tough if you don't keep up on the work, but doable, i saw some very good grades on them and some very poor, too...you'll get out of this class what you put in...again, not an easy ride, but a worthwhile one...  - Grade In Class:C

Date: 2003-12-15

Comments:1321 - This is simple...don't take him. Nice guy, tries to be funny, but HE CANNOT TEACH. And who wrote the get real with college one, you are disillusional. i switched classes, had a C, new prof...A. No he is bad.   - Grade In Class:DROP

Date: 2003-11-24

Comments:2321 - I really don't know what these people are talking about. Yeah, his tests are hard, but this is COLLEGE, people. He is very friendly and his class isn't boring even on a Tues/Thurs. He's a laid back guy and makes some funny comments in class. He is very willing to help you if you come to his office as well. If you make a bad grade in his class, it's your fault because you either didn't put in the work, or you're not smart enough to be taking a college math course.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2003-11-20

Comments:Cal 1 - If you see this name on your schedule, RUN!!! I don't care if it drops you to part time. I did have Calculus in high school and a C was me working my bum off! Run far away!!!  - Grade In Class:C

Date: 2003-11-19

Comments:1321 - If you are even considering taking his class just wait and take someone else next semester!! He does not explains things and if you did not take Cal in high school you will have a terrible time here. RUN!!! and dont even look back!!  - Grade In Class:DROP

Date: 2003-11-19

Comments:2321 - He's gotta be the hardest teacher I've ever encountered. Avoid him at all costs, unless you like getting 35%'s on your tests and having them curved up to 75%'s. He HONESTLY will spend up to 45 minutes on a problem and expects you to be able to reach back and use about 10 different, hard concepts to complete and single test problem. He is funny and a very nice human being though. i don't wish him ill-will, i just think he's in the wrong profession.  - Grade In Class:C

Date: 2003-11-13

Comments:1321 - Do not take Tidmore for Calc I. His teaching style is so abstract that you can rarely see how his lecture applies to what you are supposed to be learning. His test are extremely difficult. Even if you understand the textbook and do all the homework, you will not do well on the tests because they are nothing like the homework. He expects you to stretch what you know way further and make complicated connections in order to do the tests. But, he does do major curving (he has to), and he's a cool guy. He is hilarious during class, and he is easily accesible and helpful in his office.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:The absolute worst professor at the University -save Mr. Todd Lake!

Comments:Make the bad man stop! I\'m taking this course right now. I\'m a math major who loves math and this class is HORRIBLE! Don\'t take him! Please, save yourselves while you can!! Don\'t take him!!!

Comments:Wow, someone with a lower rating than Todd Lake. There is a reason for that! Bad proff, he expects way too much without teaching you enough! It takes him a whole hour to explain two problems from your homework (they are easy but he makes everything so long and difficult!), then gives you a quiz without talking about the next section he'll expect you to know the next day. Give me chapel any day over Tidmore's classes!

Comments:This man is LUCIFER in the flesh!! DO NOT TAKE HIM EVER!!! Freshman, especially beware!! If you are put into his class, drop it and take another prof!! He can not lecture AT ALL and he pulls his test question out of thin air. If you are already stuck, the only words of insperation I have are study hard for the final, because he has a point system that, if you do well enough, will replace most your grades with grades from the final (If you do better on the final than your tests). I brought my grade up from a solid F to a C+. Just run away while you can!!

Comments:having his class was like being a bombing protestor in iraq

Comments:mean guy that expects you to learn by osmosis. avoid him at ALL costs.

Comments:Don't take this guy if you haven't learned the material previously in high school. He expects you to know everything already.

Comments:I think he is the devil. He can't teach at all, and his lectures go over your head. He tries, but he is so smart that it goes over your head. His tests are hard, but he tries to help your grade out at the final. He will give you more points on the final if you did better on your final that your previous tests.

Comments:Does not teach well at all. Avoid him if at all possible.
