Comments:1302 - Do yourself a favor and take Mdm Burnett-Henderson!!! I took a different professor for French 1 and when I say he made that course so incredibly difficult for no reason, I mean it. It's annoying enough that we have to take multiple levels of languages in the first place, I promise you do not want to get stuck with a professor who makes it even harder. Mdm Burnett-Henderson is amazing. She prepares you so well for tests and quizzes, and as long as you pay attention in class and do the homework, it is very easy to get a good grade in her class with minimal studying. (also don't let the people who say that she expects you to know French on the first day of class scare you, EVERY French professor at Baylor speaks mostly in French all the time even in French 1 - I agree that it sucks but it's not a problem that is specific to this professor, they all do it)   - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1301 - Mme BH was great! She was very friendly and even brought treats for the class a few times! I had her for class and lab and enjoyed both. I’d never taken a French class before but I did not feel like I was at a disadvantage. The class was challenging at times, especially toward the end of the semester, but a lot of that is just learning a foreign language. All tests and the lab presentation were all online which was nice. There is a lot of interaction and speaking in class, but she is not a teacher who demands zero English. Overall, it was a fun class!  - Grade In Class:B

Comments:1301 - I've taken language classes at Baylor before, and Burnett-Henderson falls on the low side of things. I hated her class. Good news is you almost never have to study for it, though  - Grade In Class:B

Comments:1301 - TAKE HER. I took Madam Burnett Henderson only for my French lab and my only complaint was that I didn’t get to take her class enough. She is so kind, funny, and you will learn French so fast in her class. She has some assignments like weekly Flipgrid videos or weekly quizzes but she gives you the questions to the quiz in class. They take less than 20 minutes at the most. You will leave this French with such extensive knowledge, yet I would say her class is easy to succeed in.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1301/1302 - I love Dr. B-H. She is very understanding and a very good teacher. The way she engages the class is very good. I have had french before, but to me the class isn't too bad at all. HIGHLY RECOMMEND  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1301 - Don't take intro to french from her unless you have several years of french experience under your belt.  - Grade In Class:B

Comments:FRE 1302 - Really enjoyed this class. There wasn't a lot of workload. 2 tests and a final with a few quizzes throughout the semester. As long as you payed attention in class the quizzes and tests were easy. The homework was done on Connect and there would sometimes be a lot of questions but she gives you plenty of time to get them done. You can do the questions until you get a 100. There aren't a maximum number of attempts. She is a very kind professor and wants to help you succeed. She also helps you if you are stuck on something. I highly recommend taking her for 1302!  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1302 - This lady is awesome!! She is so kind and fun. Very good at teaching, never wants you to be embarrassed. She had a lot of family stuff going on when I took her class, but she still made us feel important and did a great job teaching us despite all she had going on! There's one quiz a week that is fairly easy. There's online homework due every Friday, that isn't hard but it will take you a while to finish. The exams aren't too hard, if you study hard you will do well! Highly recommend!  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1401 - I took Dr.BH for lab and I actually really enjoyed it. She made class fun and entertaining by making us do activities every once in a while. Her class covered all the cultural sections from the chapters and were extremely easy to follow along. Her french is a little more advanced, but she tries to keep it to just things we have gone over in regular class! Honestly, her class was a breeze.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1401 & 1402 - She is the sweetest professor. She is extremely helpful, especially if you go to her office hours. She gives lots of extra credit opportunities. She is passionate about French. She makes the class interactive by doing relay races, kahoot, and other games.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:Elementary 1 - Worked my butt off, and I'm no idiot, best I could do was a Bplus. She really is nice and cares but kinda expects you to already know french.  - Grade In Class:B+

Comments:2320 - The other ratings for her are unnecessarily harsh, since her class is not a blow-off class nor is it a GPA killer. Her class is very evenly balanced between in-class participation and online hw. Henderson's class requires some work, but the she varies the activities you do in class, and she is always willing to help you if you ask! She is stiff with deadlines but her tests were not difficult if you studied sufficiently. The homework was mostly online and it should never take more than 30 mins to an hour or so to complete. This class will definitely help boost your french vocabulary and knowledge of words, which is really useful if you're continuing your french studies. Henderson is helpful, diligent, and creative with in-class exercises.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1401 - I personally would not recommend Madame Henderson. I looked at her reviews and they weren't bad at first so I chose her for the first level of French and like the other review below me has stated, she expects you to know French going in. I really hate that certain majors have to take four semesters of a foreign language because, in my opinion, it is a waste of time and money forcing people to take one if you really do not have an interest. Anyway, if you have a choice, take someone else. I felt her course load was a lot heavier than it needed to be specifically the homework and the quizzes and tests were hard. Considering it is listed as Elementary French I honestly find that laughable because it is anything but. Your chapters will go by fast and she expects you to keep up and in my opinion, she didn't really teach the material thoroughly but rather expected the homework to teach you. The plus side is though that the upper level 2000 French classes are way easier than the first two levels which I found strange but do take someone else for lower and upper. If you are looking for a blow-off language class, I hate to tell you but that really doesn't exist at Baylor and it certainly is not in her class.  - Grade In Class:C

Comments:1401 - Absolutely horrible professor. On the first day of class, she expected us to know some French. If you did not take French in high school stay away. Baylor needs to re-examine her ability as a professor.  - Grade In Class:C

Comments:1402 - She isn't the easiest teacher, but trust me you will learn French.  - Grade In Class:C

Comments:1402 - Okay so this professor is the best. She is so kind and helpful She is willing to help and I think honestly cares for her students. The next two semesters of french are not required for my major so if I did not have a rigorous degree plan I would take higher levels of french just so I could learn more from her. All the homework is online which I liked but I know some people don't. I didn't spend a lot of time on the homework everyday which allows me to work on subjects I don't understand.  - Grade In Class:B

Comments:1402 - Dr. Burnett-Henderson was a wonderful teacher! She really wanted to make sure we knew the material, so when having us talk in class, she would stay with you until you got the answer. Sometimes that was a drag b/c some ppl would take more than a few minutes to answer, but at least it showed she cared. Too bad she moved to a different school!!  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:2310 - Very good teacher. She was always helpful and willing to explain anything that did not make sense. There was a pretty light workload and the class was interesting. I highly recommend her.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1402 - her tests are pretty easy. Just study the book and listen to the things she says in class. She tends to put them on the tests. Not a bad class at all.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1401 - very nice lady. Her class was very enjoyable. Everyone must participate verbally. Be sure to read the book..or you'll regret it the next day. She takes a grade on workbooks, so do every section. 2 oral exams. Don't skip and you should do fine. Bonne chance!  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:2310 - I loved her! The class is just one big discussion, so your speaking skills really improve. Make sure you do the homework. It doesn't count as a grade, but everything you turn in is extra credit. She also drops at least 1 quiz grade, which is good because the quizzes are usually unannounced so it is easy to miss one. Overally, it is a fairly easy class. I didn't study much, but I have also been in French for five years so most of the stuff was review. Defintely take her if you want to improve your speaking!   - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1401 - I loved her. She was so nice and she definitely knows what she's talking about. She's very patient and I learned a whole lot. The homework is just in the lab manual. Not that hard. Make sure you do the entire chapter because she'll forget to assign parts and then you get points taken off if you don't do them. Make sure you study your vocab before class because she expects you to use it. There's a quiz almost every week. Not hard, 4 or 5 oral questions she has asked you in class and then fill in the blank with verbs or vocab. The tests were straight forward and fill in the blank. There's a short essay on each one. Make sure you go to class and study grammar and vocab and you'll be fine.   - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1401 - wonderful teacher. she makes you speak french a lot in class, so it makes studying easier. has lots of quizzes, which were easy. 2 tests, each composes of writing and speaking, and a final which has no oral part. a fairly easy class. Good teacher, though.   - Grade In Class:A
