Comments:2302/2102/3301 - Dr. Taylor is really awesome, he has aura. His last class, 3301, is a little more difficult, as it isn't always as intuitive as the other four theories are, but nonetheless, he is an excellent teacher and does a great job explaining such abstract topics. - Grade In Class:A
Comments:Theory and musicianship - This man has actually the most aura of any person I've ever met. I had him from several classes from Musicianship I to Theory V and he was a great teacher in all! As long as you pay attention, do the homework, and ask him if you are confused, you'll be fine. - Grade In Class:A
Comments:1101 - Dr. Taylor is such an amazing professor! My biggest takeaway was his passion for the subject. He always came to class excited and it made me excited to be there. He does have students sing in class, which I hated at first, but it makes the tests much less stressful. He is an amazing teacher and gives lots of different strategies and techniques to help every student. He gives homework every class, but it’s not a lot and is very applicable to what you are learning. I will definitely take Dr. Taylor again if I can. - Grade In Class:A
Comments:1302 - Dr. Taylor is my favorite professor and possibly the coolest person I know. I've never enjoyed a class so much. I had him for theory 2 and he would always make class so interesting. He is such a fair grader. I would make stupid little mistakes all the time and he would't count off or take off one point for like 2 mistakes. I would highly recommend you to take him! YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT! - Grade In Class:A
Comments:MUS 1101 - Musicianship 1 with Dr. Taylor is fairly easy. Overall, Dr. T is a great teacher, and he makes learning in his classroom fun with his laid-back, easy-going personality. He does assign a lot of homework, but they are mainly singing/rhythm assignments and he assigns them a week in advance. The dictation/listening homework is time-intensive and more difficult, but still very manageable. - Grade In Class:B+
Comments:MUS 1101 - Dr. Taylor is a very fun, cool, and easy going guy. But I struggled with this class a lot because I didn't feel like we were trained enough with hearing everything we needed to. I enjoyed the sight singing and daily work, but I could never pull through on quizzes very well. The quizzes are in class and are all diction. Then you have weekly rhythms and melodies to work on and he records how well you perform in class. Midterm and final are held in his office and it just involves you singing some melodies, rhythms, and a few other items. I recommend him, but will probably be a challenge if you are weak at all in diction and hearing exercises. - Grade In Class:C+
Comments:1301 - Dr. Taylor was an excellent professor! Theory I with Dr. Taylor was a pretty easy class if you pay attention in class and do all your homework. I had never taken theory before so the beginning of the semester was pretty rough until I went in during his office hours to get help. He was very helpful in his office hours and many aspects of theory clicked because of his help. He will always schedule times to meet with you if you cannot make his office hours. I got a B because near the end of he semester I slept a lot and always did my homework at the last minute. Overall I would highly recommend him! - Grade In Class:B
Comments:1301 - Theory 1 is a strange class. If you had AP Theory in high school it is a breeze if you did not it is a struggle. Dr Taylor is amazing he is willing to work with you, and give you extra help. If you start struggling talk to him early and he will help. I was going to fail this class but pulled it up ro a C+ with a lot of work and Dr Taylor's tutoring. - Grade In Class:C+
Comments:1101 - I had Dr. Taylor for musicianship 1, and he was very helpful. He made sure we understood the purpose for learning everything, and helped us with any music problems. He is very laid back, and tends to keep you in class too long. My class over all seemed to enjoy his teaching style and technics. - Grade In Class:A
