Comments:ME 2320 - TAKE DR. NEWBERRY FOR STATICS!! Dr. Newberry is such a nice guy, he loves telling nature facts and showing his photography, and there's no way you can hate him. He's great at explaining Statics topics, and he usually spends half the time teaching on the whiteboard and the other half allowing us to do practice problems, the perfect way to learn in my opinion. Homework was easy and straightforward, no quizzes, and tests were very fair and easy. I really enjoyed his class, and he's your best option for Statics; take him!  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:EGR 3305 - He's a really nice guy, but his class is incredibly boring. There is entirely too much work for his common sense class. There was a reading and a discussion post due before every class and a weekly reflection going over the material again. Tests are a mix of long answers and MC but they are pretty easy if you've done the reading or listened to his lectures.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:3305 - I don't know if the material is boring or the professor is boring, the class just makes me fall asleep every time. But he is a nice person and an easy grader.  - Grade In Class:B+

Comments:2320 - Newberry is the best! He cares about his students so much and even takes a group camping. He teaches the material in a way that is very easy to understand and his tests are very fair. I recommend him!  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:2320 - Dr. Newberry is a highly intelligent, kind professor. He really wants to get to know his students and does an excellent job at remembering names and making you feel welcome and cared for. He is able to explain topics from multiple angles and is a very effective teacher. I never walked out of the classroom or his office left wondering how to do a problem. Dr. Newberry is among my favorite professors and one I hope to maintain a relationship with for a long time.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:ME 2320 - Dr. Newberry is one of the best professors I have ever had. He cares a lot about the success of his students and practically begs you to go to office hours. His course is very fair- the tests are a good gauge of your knowledge and if he accidentally makes one too hard he will curve. The connect homework takes a while, but this will be the same regardless of who you take for statics. Classes are centered around short lectures and lots of practice problems, both with the class and in groups, which I found to be a very effective method of instruction for a class like this. Take Dr. Newberry if your schedule allows for it- he is a very nice man that loves to get to know his students.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:2320 - My favorite professor that I've taken at Baylor. Whenever I needed to talk to or email him, he was very amiable and never talked down to me. The homework load was definitely bearable. We had three tests, the final, and a quiz every week, except for weeks after tests. Homework was optional, but the quiz was guaranteed to be similar to one homework problem, so it's a good idea to do the homework. He had to take about 5 absences during the semester to do engineering things in different countries so we got previews of the two other statics professors (Campbell and Lea), and I think Newberry is definitely the best one. He goes over the basic concept of a section in class, then spends the rest of the class period working out a problem on the board, showing us how to solve it on our own.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:Strength of Materials - I absolutely love Dr. Newberry! He has a great sense of humor and is one of those incredibly smart professors you hope you meet during your college experience. I loved the daily history lessons! As for the class, you have to commit a lot of time to homework, but it's not too overwhelming. He's willing to help you as long as you make an effort. The tests were easy-ish in that the problems weren't really hard, but they were a good measure of what you should know. You have to study. Nothing comes out of left field though.  - Grade In Class:C

Comments:3320 - Great class and great teacher. Tests are just like the HWK. Take the HWK seriously, get in study groups, and TAKE NEWBERRY for anything... especially over Tommy T. Thats a known fact. He's not afraid to pick on you, so don't say anything stupid in class. Loved his every day history lessons  - Grade In Class:B+

Comments:3380 - Design is the best EGR class ever, but Thomas and NEWB made it alota fun because they were such younger teachers and they both have pretty good sense of humors. He's a very sarcastic guy, and is not afraid to publicly make fun of you. Fun guy  - Grade In Class:A
