Teaching Ability

Comments:2334 - Losey doesn't give a crap, and it shows. Most of what he does in small group reminds you of highschool, like writing the names of authors on the board in huge letters. Also, I learned in the study session for the final that he'll often get the details wrong on past events and figures. He is mostly a Brit Lit guy, but that almost never comes up in the whole course, except for a few poems. Otherwise, he seems to be phoning it in, for large group and small. I had so many questions that other profs answered when I was studying for the final because he didn't really raise the level of discussion, and that's kind of his main job. My least favorite part of the cultures classes, and he didn't help. For sure take someone else, if you actually want to understand the massive reading list.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1324 - He is kinda cool but so awkward. I was completely unprepared for the tests and I felt like I learned absolutely nothing in small group. Even with studying and note taking, I was not very successful. There was no structure to the class. I feel like he could potentially be a good teacher if he was able to get the class more involved in learning. He offers good points and questions for critical thinking. I wouldn't take him again, but he is a really nice person.  - Grade In Class:C

Comments:World Cultures 2 - Mr. Losey is a weirdo. He is a bit oblivious sometimes and he makes some odd teaching choices. I like him because he was so awkward. However, he will completely butcher your papers but make few and unoriginal comments. I asked questions in class and he said, "I dont want to talk about that right now" even though he talks about seemingly random stuff all the time. He was just weird.  - Grade In Class:B+

Comments:1324 - Only took him because he was the only one left. All I have to say is do not take him. It was awful.  - Grade In Class:B

Comments:World Cultures 3 - Do not take Losey. All the other classes were filled up, so I had to take him. His small groups are utterly pointless. He grades essays very hard, but does not give helpful feedback. He is boring and rambles on about nonsense. Try to avoid him.  - Grade In Class:B

Comments:1324 - Do not take Losey. My computer froze and he was the only one left. Small groups are ultimately useless, there is no real discussion, he simply asks questions and then says, "well that doesn't really matter..hmm..ha..." has absolutely no teaching ability and presence whatsoever and gave no input into our research papers until they were due in a few days. If you want to enjoy World Cultures II, take someone else. Do whatever it takes! Good luck...  - Grade In Class:B+

Comments:ENG - Dr. Losey is not very helpful and loses control in his class. I was not challenged at all and he made me feel uneasy as he stared at me a lot. He's nice but odd.  - Grade In Class:B+

Comments:BIC 2334 - Took him for World Cultures II and he's not the best choice. Small group was usually useless becaue he does not have control over his students, and since BIC students are usually talkative and outspoken, not much got accomplished because he would not take control of the classroom. Because of which, you hardly learn anything in small group. He doesn't reply to some e-mails, but he will reply to others, which I found odd. Be careful in large group because he doesn't like talking, which is understandable, but be forewarned.  - Grade In Class:B
