*A 5 star workload is an easy workload; a 3 star is average; whereas a 1 star workload is extremely hard.
Comments:EGR 3305 - I thought Jordan was a great professor for ethics since he is actually very knowledgeable on the subject matter and his examples were easy to follow. The class largely dives into some very self-explanatory concepts so it's fairly boring, but it can be interesting at times. You wouldn't care either way because the workload isn't bad at all and the grading is pretty lenient. Basically all your assignments are just responses to a given prompt or set of questions with the exception of the presentations, which were honestly pretty fun. Tests were open notes, so if you had his slides saved on your laptop, you could use those on exams. Overall a fine class. - Grade In Class:A
Comments:1302 - I thought he was a great teacher. He has definitely changed his teaching style from years ago. He teaches off of powerpoints and is very straightforward. His class is boring, but you get a nice workload and his tests are very reasonable. He assigned 3 exams and multiple quizzes. Just do the practice exams and homework he gives you and you will pass the class. - Grade In Class:A
Comments:GBEC - First of all this course was team taught by Jordan and Dr. VanTreuren. To be fair it was their first time teaching it. However Dr. Jordan was clearly unprepared for most lectures. He used powerpoints clearly created by someone else and just read through them. I'm also pretty sure he fell asleep during presentations he was supposed to be grading. He was pretty helpful during office hours and gave good tips for our paper. I would recommend avoiding him if possible but not because the class is too hard. - Grade In Class:B
Comments:1301 - Dr. Jordan was possibly the worst teacher I've ever had. his class was not hard though, at all. He made a lot of mistakes while writing on the board, I would say teaching but that wouldn't be the right word. He would ask if we had questions yet he would not look up to see half of the class's hands up. Take Thomas if you have the chance. The only good thing was that we could use note cards for the tests, so you can have all of your notes and powerpoints on there, but I think they all do that - Grade In Class:A
Comments:EGR 1301 - Dr. Jordan is the worst possible teacher to get for Intro to Engineering. His class is boring, his calculations are never right, and his handwriting is unreadable. If you have to take this class, I suggest you take Brian Thomas. - Grade In Class:B
Comments:1301 - Where to start…Dr. Jordan is the worst professor imaginable. In short, he can’t teach. He writes on the board backwards: He starts on the right side and continues onto the left. His calculations don’t make sense. 10x20 does not equal 91847. Things like that. He will ask if anyone has a question. However, he will turn his back to the class and read his notes and try not to see anyone. If you do get in a question he won’t know the answer. There isn’t too much homework assigned. I had 5 or 6 assignments and they’re all in groups. The homework will take hours. My group averaged probably 4-5 hours per homework. If you do have to take him I hope you’re a genius or get in an awesome group like I did…that was my only saving grace. - Grade In Class:B
Comments:1301 - Dr. Jordan was the worst teacher I have had in my life. "Do you know what is special about this plane? -long pause- It's black". He doesn't convey the material in any efficient form to the class. Please avoid this teacher. - Grade In Class:A
Comments:1301 - Dr. Jordan does the best that he can with such a boring course. You can tell that he is very passionate about ethics and missionary work which is nice to see in a porfessor but I don't really think anyone could make this course very interesting. - Grade In Class:A
Comments:1301 - Avoid Dr. Jordan at all costs. He made me want to switch my major. He merely shows you the material, he can't teach, or choses not to for freshman engineering classes. He has the personality of a brick. I had to use the other professor's online notes to do the homework. He's very smart, but for a freshman teacher, avoid. - Grade In Class:B
