Comments:3353 - Dr. S has expectations of students that are not clear in her instructions for assignments. If you want to be treated like an adult and not a fifth grader, you will not enjoy this class. She expects you to write papers to someone who knows nothing about the subject, which none of my other history professors do (because they expect you to produce professional work). She is inconsistent and her instructions for assignments are extremely confusing, containing phrases like "if you choose to include a bibliography" though she grades based off of that. The course was over Pre-Colonial Latin America but we were hardly ever tested on the actual material of history, as most of the work was book reviews, map tests, and current events tests. We were tested on maps before we learned about that material in class, being expected to find out where random historical sites were for ourselves. Too much emphasis was placed on current events for a history class! Current events were relevant but we were tested on those just as much as historical material, and more emphasis was placed on them in discussions. She also takes off points for scrupulous expectations, like writing on both sides of the blue book pages. The tests are rigorous, consisting of a regular test plus a "take home test," which is a long essay that students only get Saturday and Sunday to write. One other thing that really frustrated me was that she did not offer a course evaluation at the end of the semester, which most other profs appreciate! I thought that was odd, and wished that she wanted to know what students think about her class.  - Grade In Class:B

Comments:HIS3353 - This class in particular had only 12 students and it was obvious that she had favorites. Me? Not one of them. If you truly enjoy history, go for it. As a political science major, this class was only for a credit, and having her roll her eyes at me for saying or doing the wrong thing was not for me. She was incredibly condescending, and unless you have immense knowledge of the subject prior to the class, you will be seen as incompetent. This is not a class based on learning, but based on favoritism.  - Grade In Class:DROP

Comments:HIS 2366 - Dr. Supplee expects a lot from her students. She assigns a ton of reading that you actually have to do for class and then extra reading on top of that for extra reading assignment that you have to write essays for. She does offer a lot of extra credit so I suggest that you do those. There are two tests and a final but she let us opt out of the second test if we wanted too and just put in the grade that we got on our first test.  - Grade In Class:B

Comments:HIS 4389 - MOAS has definitely been one of my formative experiences at Baylor and I would readily recommend the class and Dr. S to anyone who is interested in improving their speaking, writing, and networking skills. Dr. S truly cares that we learn something and come away from the model with a more open mind, and she is exceptional as far as the professors I have taken go. She is certainly not an easy professor in the sense that you have to do some serious work, but she is also not unreasonable. I have made some of my best friends at Baylor in MOAS, friends I otherwise might never have met, and this alone has made it worth the work. The trips to DC in the spring are also a ton of fun, and it's always a unique experience to interact with people from all over Latin America. MOAS is fantastic, and Dr. S is the reason it has been such a success for me over the course of my three years participating.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:4V89 - This is the fourth semester I have taken this class and I absolutely love it. In MOAS, you will learn an extensive history of Latin America and meet some of the best people Baylor has to offer. Dr. S is probably the best professor I have had because she is authentic and all-around interesting. Although her class comes with a bit of a workload, it is not ridiculously crazy and it ends up being worth it in the end. We have a quiz once a week and assignments due throughout the semester, but all of the work is manageable. It is because of Dr. S that this class is worth it; she is truly remarkable and I have never gained so much experience from a class.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:2V89 - I enrolled in this class to be a part of MOAS (Model Organization of the American States). It's basically like Model UN but for the Western Hemisphere (the Americas). The class basically preps you for the official Model done by the OAS in DC. The class consists of writing a resolution, and a position paper with your team. You then go to DC for a week, and Baylor pays for it all. It's honestly one of the best decisions I've made, You get to meet people from all over latin america, the US, and canada, and it's just so fun and eye-opening. and Dr. S is a badass. She'll prep and take care of you. Def take this class if you're interested in law school, latin american studies, or diplomacy!  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:HIS 4389 - Dr. Supplee is an awesome professor and an even more awesome person. She is super helpful and I enjoy her classes even though there is a bit of a workload. Her main concern is student-learning and I would definitely take her again.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:3355 - I love this woman, but I will admit she is a savage and not for the faint of heart. When I took her class it was very small, so we were all able to get to know her much better than most students. She expects a lot, and she is not afraid to fail students she does not think have a mastery of the material, but she has a really big heart. Dr. S is no walk in the park, but get to know her and you have a fierce lady on your side. She is so worth it.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:2366 - She was very hard. I'm not the best at history but I have always been able to keep up and have good grades but i could barely pass the tests. she expects so much from the tests even if you aren't a history major. for every class you have to read about 35-50 pages. she doesn't give consideration to you having other classes so her workload is very rough. Her reviews are worst than the tests. I do NOT recommend her for anything  - Grade In Class:D

Comments:US history - She is very rude and some of her comments in class cross the line.. She's a pretty decent lecturer but other than that I would take Dr. Kimberly Kellison!!!  - Grade In Class:B

Comments:2366 - Get out if you can. So boring. Lots of reading from multiple books in very short time periods. She grades essays pretty easy, but its stressful. Tests are quite in depth short answer/essay in class.  - Grade In Class:C

Comments:2366 - At the beginning of the year, I couldn't stand Dr. S. She gives out readings that are somewhat boring for most of the classes and her lectures put me to sleep a lot of the time. But as the year went on, I started to really enjoy her as a teacher she even let me leave class right after a quiz because the US mens soccer team was on TV. Her tests are crazy difficult. Identifications on really little things she lectures about and a long but much easier essay at the end. She also makes you write two 4 pg book reports on 2 of the 3 books she assigned. I just sparknotes the books and got As on all the papers. I would take her again but only because I really liked her personality. I slacked and still did decent so I'm sure if i tried more I could have aced her class.  - Grade In Class:C+

Comments:2366- US since 1877 - I switched out of her class! She was condescending and not very nice. Tons of busy work for no reason and tests that were more in depth than the textbook went. She's a self proclaimed flower-child and talks a lot about her experiences in all the decades. Snore.  - Grade In Class:DROP

Comments:3355 - I took Modern Latin America, and she managed to make boring a class that should be fascinating! There was a pretty heavy workload and she grades really hard, but curves at the end of the semester. You also HAD to have previous knowledge of the subject, don't take her unless you have to.   - Grade In Class:B

Comments:3000 - She is nice in a condescending sort of way. She gives a ridiculous amount of busy work, if you don't like that then you should avoid her. She is willing to work with you to get things done. Work hard and it will show in your grade. slack off, you're doomed.  - Grade In Class:B
