Comments:1310 - He is a very nice man who clearly knows what he's doing. The drawings are very boring, and I think he had his expectations a little high with our class, even though none of us are art majors. Will help you a lot if he can see that you are struggling, but even for some people who can't draw, the drawings are quite easy. The best part about him is he will give you pop tarts and food if you are hungry.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1310 - Professor Lewallen is one of the sweetest professors I've ever had. Any art class at Baylor is really difficult, and I struggled a lot in my last art class, especially cause I'm not good at art but 2 art classes is required for my major. He made the class enjoyable and wasn't super harsh with grading, don't expect A's, but you won't get a C.  - Grade In Class:B+

Comments:ART 1314 - Good professor and fun class. Some projects are very boring and involve lots of squares but overall a good class. Spent a lot of weekends in the art room.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1310 - Great person overall. However as a teacher I expected him to be more patient and understand of students with OALA needs. If you are a student with OALA needs or an athlete this won't be the class for you. He will work with you but he is going to make you basically beg and plead for the help. He also always wants to meet in person to get help. You cannot send him a simple email.  - Grade In Class:C

Comments:Multiple - Mr. Lewallen is going to be one of those professors that I attribute my success to. He is a great man as well as teacher and I can truly say he made my college experience better. If you have to opportunity to take him, do it! The workload is never too hard and he is always available if you need help or advice. I laughed more in his class than in any so far at Baylor. He has so many great stories and lots of advice so please take advantage of his generosity and get to know him. And yes, he's a little kooky but in a great way and you will benefit from sharing in his silliness sometimes. Overall, his classes are great fun and I would definitely recommend taking him!  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1314 - Mr. Lewallen is one of the kindest men I have ever met. He genuinely cares about his students and listens to their problems and give great advice. I really wish that I had the time to take more classes with him. If you are looking to take drawing I or 2d design, you should definitely take them from Mr. Lewallen. If you don't you are missing an opportunity for a meaningful relationship and an excellent class experience!  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1314 - I made an account just so I could rave about Professor Lewallen!!! BEST PROFESSOR EVER!!! Honestly he is the nicest and most helpful professor at Baylor! He is the sweetest/most genuine person!!!I had no clue what I was doing when I walked into his class, and I am walking about so much more confident in myself. He is so realistic on due dates and on grading. If you do not take him for drawing or 2D you are making a huge mistake!!  - Grade In Class:B+

Comments:1310 - Lewallen is one of my favorite people I have ever met. He is so kind, funny, personable, and insightful. I had his class from 8:00-10:00 on MWF and he totally made me okay with waking up at the butt crack of dawn. He loves all of his students and is very encouraging of them all - he supports all of our projects and is so helpful with all of the projects. I rarely had to come in on my own time to finish any of the projects, too. He loves his students and will say hi to you any time he sees you and often wants to know about your life - he loves getting to know everyone and genuinely cares about everyone - he even invites us to his church. He bought me doughnuts on my birthday, if that tells you how invested he is. Take him for any classes that he is offered as a professor - the best I've ever had.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1310 - Overall he's a great teacher. He will talk your ear off about bugs and his crazy adventures, and often times gets emotional about his bug stories and also about his family. He assigned projects one after the other, but they were manageable. He gave us a pointillism bug drawing over Thanksgiving break, which was time consuming, but ended up being really cool. There were no quizzes or tests or readings, so this class was pretty low maintenance.  - Grade In Class:B+

Comments:Drawing I - He is so nice and a real good guy. He's genuine and a real people person. I really loved his class. He makes it fun and challenging and I really learned a lot and feel much more comfortable about moving further into the art program. He has beautiful bug collections and great stories. He shows you how to draw each upcoming assignment so you know exactly what you need to do. He's encouraging and really wants you to do well. You will love this class. If you get him...be sure to ask him to play his harmonica :) He's a good guy!  - Grade In Class:B+

Comments:2D Design - HE IS SO AWESOME!!! He assigns projects all year, but you really do learn how to better your art skills. He loves bugs, and loves to have conversations with students. You can talk to him about anything! He's very understanding with unfinished assignments but there are consequences. Overall, take him!  - Grade In Class:B

Comments:Drawing 1 - I'm not majoring in art but I have SOOO much respect for this professor. He is by far my favorite professor here at Baylor. He listens to his students and respects them!! He gives great feedback to his students and is very helpful. I did have to come into studio a few times out of class to work on a few drawings. GREAT PROFESSOR!!!!!!!!!  - Grade In Class:B+

Comments:1310 - He is an awesome professor and person in general. He's extremely helpful and cares how you do. I struggled a lot with the first two drawings but he told me, "I won't give up on you so you can't give up either". He often does the project right along with the class and you can walk around to see his progress. Very flexible, relaxed atmosphere and conducive to work. Pretty average workload. Stippling project can be a pain, but if you actually work on it as soon as you get it, you'll be fine.  - Grade In Class:B+

Comments:1310 - Wonderful drawing professor! I got so much out of this class and enjoyed Professor Lewallen so much! He is easy to get along with, explains what he wants, and a cool guy to be around. I wish he taught more upper level classes because I would love to take him again. I definitely recommend his class. Average workload, it's going to be like that for any class.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:Design 2D - He's a great professor and was genuinely interested in each student's life. He helped me improve a lot. It is an average art class workload. The class is mostly projects with like one easy test. He is a little quirky, but in a good way.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1314 - very laid back, personable, not over-the-top artsy... he walked into class the first day in levi's and cowboy boots. but he knows what he's talking about and i feel like he leads the class well. i'm by no means a great artist, but i did well. projects are sometimes extensive but usually all of it is completed in class. never any homework assignments. relaxed atmosphere. i would highly recommend mr. lewallen for introductory art courses, especially for non-majors!  - Grade In Class:A
