Comments:BIC 2334 - Dr. Clarkson's the best! His classes are so engaging and he really encourages his students to think outside of the box with our readings. He asks really good questions to spark class discussion, and likes to utilize multi-media in his classes so that our learning can be more applied. He makes himself really available to students if we need any help. His grading on essays and written responses is VERY particular, but once you get that down, and as long as you participate, the class is so much fun!  - Grade In Class:B+

Comments:BIC 2334 - Dr. Clarkson... what a guy, what a guy. He is easily one of the most fun and enjoyable professors I have ever had. Clarkson does a great job of both teaching the material and teaching you how to think, write, and cooperate with others. He is generous with grades and grades in a fairly timely manner. He clearly cares a lot about the success of his students. I would love to take Clarkson again. He is my first recommendation to all BIC students for cultures 2 & 3.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:BIC 1324 - Clarkson is a great professor and always makes small group learning fun. He's not uptight about grades but focuses more on helping students get something out of the course. I'd call Clarkson's method of teaching both unorthodox and sometimes a little wild. But in the end, everything he does he does for a reason and does so in order to help students have fun while gaining exposure to diverse cultures that broaden their worldviews.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:GTX Ancient - I actually did not have Clarkson for religion, but for Great Texts instead. Still, I can vouch that he is an excellent lecturer who forces you to think and analyze the readings. He is also very realistic about workload and time constraints, and required less reading than most of the other GTX professors I've heard about. He is fun to talk to and has a rather dry, sarcastic humor that makes it especially fun when he decides to poke fun at you or another student. All in all, I thoroughly enjoyed his class.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:Heritage - Clarkson is a pretty nice guy with some dry humor. His class format is lectures, which are usually provided via powerpoint prior to the class period. The lectures are mostly straightforward, but sometimes he can get caught up on a subject and go into too much detail (which gets boring). He has weekly quizzes (usually Friday) that require you to complete the reading assignment for the week. There is a map quiz for each unit, and those are extremely easy. His exams are not very hard, and if you just look over slides you can manage a B. There are plenty of extra credit opportunities that can get you to an A. He's very open to talk, and will respond to emails promptly.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1350 - Very easy to make an A if you do the work. Open note quizzes. Tests are very straight forward. Tons of extra credit offered. Definitely the best religion teacher, I would reccommend him.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1350 - Quizzes are not always announced, but you can tell when they are coming for the most part, just read when you think there might be a quiz, otherwise don't waste your time. Tests take some studying, but he curves. DO THE EXTRA CREDIT and you will be fine, an A or B is pretty easy to get with a little work.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1350 - Clarkson managed to make this class very interesting. The tests were okay as long as you studied and took goods notes on the powerpoints. He is very organized and offers extra credit. Don't bring your cell phone to class!!  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1310 - I made a low grade in his class but religion is not my subject AT ALL. The tests were straight off the powerpoints and the reading was not too heavy. It was definitely reasonable. No essays, anywhere: not on tests or final exams or homework assignments EXCEPT there are two extra credit essays. And those are completely optional. He allows to get enough extra credit to raise your grade up to the next letter grade. Obviously I didn't take advantage of him. He is great, nice, not too hard. I do believe he is one of the easier Religion teachers. Like I said, Religion is just not my thing.  - Grade In Class:C

Comments:1310 - Great professor. Make sure you keep up with your reading. He gives a good amount of extra credit that can boost your grade 10% points if you do it all. Tests are not too bad, go to him early if you struggle with the first tests, it's a good measure of the rest of the tests but he gives good feedback on how to succeed. You have at least 14 quizzes but they are unannounced so do the reading, he only takes the top 10 quizzes so you have some room for error. His lectures are alright not dull not thrilling but in the middle. Take notes and take advantage of the extra credit and you will do fine. Thought it would be one of my hardest classes but Mr C. made it one of my easier ones. Take him if you can.  - Grade In Class:B+

Comments:REL 1310 - If you do the reading, listen closely in class, and take good notes, you'll be fine. He's very friendly and has a fun personality. The grades are based on his in-class 5 question quizzes over the readings, which are not super detailed and he drops 3 or more of these grades. The tests are pretty straight forward. Study the notes and keep up with the reading and they aren't too bad. The readings are usually 30 minutes worth or a little longer at most. I skipped some readings and still made an A. There are also two papers you can write for extra credit. Overall, I learned a lot from his class and I suggest taking him for religion.  - Grade In Class:A
