Comments:ACC 5355 - This class was kind of what you made it. He had a loose syllabus for us at the start of the semester but we were able to "negotiate" the assignments. So if we thought the work for one of our projects was really heavy he allowed us to drop other assignments. There were just a few mandatory things like creating a presentation for a CPE conference and working with a client but he'll help you with both if you need it.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:4330 - This class was one of the most interesting classes I took in my undergrad. I would recommend that if you're not great at test-taking then take the alternative professor; however, if tests are your strong suit, this class would work to your advantage. Jason is super kind and will do all he can to help you. The workload is very extensive and strenuous but still doable. If you ask him questions and put in the effort this could be one of the easier classes out of the accounting core.  - Grade In Class:B+

Comments:ACC 4330 - I don't know how to really feel overall about this class. In general, Jason is the type of professor who wants you to do super well and will try to give you as good as a grade as possible. He gives a lot of extra credit, but this is not really beneficial to the high achievers because you are required to get an 80% or higher on every single test or else you will not get an A in the course. You are allowed to retake every single test one time, except for the final. I do not think this 80% cap is accomplishing what Jason thinks it is accomplishing, as it is a demotivator in my eyes in almost all scenarios that I can think of. Regardless, Jason's test averages were higher than the other professor who was teaching this semester, so I would still probably take his course even though you might hate yourself due to the sheer amount of group work you will have to do.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:Cases - Least favorite class I've ever taken. Jason is one of those professors who thinks the world revolves around his class, like we should live and breathe accounting memos. He says each memo should have 15-25 drafts and take 10-15 hours to write but then assigns 7 memos due within two weeks. He's also impossible to figure out. One day he prefers paraphrasing, the next he criticizes you for not quoting directly. He'll say something in class like "this is a great way to start out your memo" and then takes points off for doing what he said. His feedback isn't constructive, it's just mean. I had a 4.0 in college until this class. Avoid at all costs, he's not a professor you want to deal with and honestly just isn't that great of a person. Don't be fooled by the other reviews.  - Grade In Class:B+

Comments:4330 - Probably the best teacher I've had at Baylor. His class is one of the best at allowing you to learn a lot of material while also making it very attainable to get a high grade. He listens to student feedback on the course, always makes himself available for questions, and genuinely wants you to a) learn the material and b) get an A. If you're considering taking his experiential/"special" audit course, I would certainly recommend it, but if you're a procrastinator, you will have a LOT of work pile up right at the end since the class is a do it at your own pace model. I don't have a negative thing to say about him.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:ACC4330 - Jason is incredible. Easily the best professor I've had in the business school. His BUBooks does not give him nearly enough credit. His undergraduate audit class is easily the most manageable of the offerings, and he truly wants his students to do well in the course. Can't say enough good things about this course.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:ACC 4330 - This guy is absolutely fantastic. He constantly makes himself available and will literally go through 100 problem test reviews with you one at a time to makes sure you know the material. He's honest, blunt, hilarious, and will let you know some of the ugly truths of the accounting world. The fact that he can turn something as dry as audit into a pretty fun and engaging class is a miracle in and of itself. Not to mention his class is well-structured, and he gives you a million chances to earn an A through extra credit. TAKE HIM.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:Audit - Macgregor is highly eccentric but effective. There are a ton of quizzes and practice tests, but they are helpful preparation for the tests. He gives bonus for completing all the quizzes– this made it much easier to make an A in the course. He does a few memorization assignments which are annoying. That said, you can miss a few and still get full credit in the practice category. The audit case at the end is the thing that requires the most work. He grades it leniently though (he's a bit scary in the actual evaluation session, but the number grades are good). I'm doing a tax internship, and thought I would hate audit, but Macgregor made it interesting. I would recommend him over Thomas.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:4330 - Audit - Dr. MacGregor is in his element teaching this class. Even though he assigns a massive amount of daily work, it is broken up in such a way that it is no more than 1-2 hours per day. He builds in so many points and opportunities for extra points and extra credit that even if you have a C average on the tests, you can still get an A. It is my hardest class as a senior accounting major, but it is my favorite class to go to because he is funny, and he makes the class very interesting and fun. If you are going into auditing, you should definitely take him for 4330.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:financial - I don't know what to say about him. I don't think he knows how to teach. The only thing kept me going is to see his funny looking pants everyday. Seriously. He needs to change his wardrobe. The colors of his pants are just awful. Very bad tastes.  - Grade In Class:C+

Comments:2303 - He's great. His goal is that everyone in the class make at least a C. Accounting in general requires a lot of practice, regardless of professor. If you are willing to show up everyday, and do the MyAccountingLab assignments, you should at least make a B.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:Financial - I had to re-take Financial after first taking this class with Betsey Willis and Dr. MacGregor was AWESOME. He clearly explains the material (unlike Willis), there is little homework (I ended up not even having to do any of the online homework) and he offers plenty of extra credit. My test average in this class was a 92. The tests were a breeze, especially if you go to SI. The only thing that kept me from getting an A was the final exam.  - Grade In Class:B+

Comments:Financial - I had an extremely easy time with this class. The only thing I would say is COME TO CLASS. He tells you exactly what will be on every test, and practically gives you the problems word for word. He will do everything you can to help you pass, but will definitely make you work for it. There are always plenty of extra review sessions and SI's. I never opened the text book once--you are better off just using the online My Accounting Lab. As long as you put forth a LITTLE effort, you will do fine in this class.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:Financial - I felt that he did a good job of teaching the subject. For the most part he was available when i needed him and was able to give me a boost in the right direction. He has a lot of tests but that helps your average, and his primary goal is to help you pass the class. You wont be disappointed when taking his class.  - Grade In Class:C

Comments:Financial - Macgregor is a great professor! If accounting isn't your strong suit, take him. He does an amazing job at clearly explaining the concepts, and he's always willing to help. There's a lot of tests, but that's only because he wants you to get a good grade in the class. TAKE HIM if you can!  - Grade In Class:B

Comments:Financial - Dr. Mcgregor was a horrible professor. i went to his office several times with hardly any soluion, he told me to look in his answer book for the answers when i needed him to explain it. He was also often at lunch break and left me waiting for hours. His head is high in the air and he is reLly arrogant expecting the students to know the subject inside out.  - Grade In Class:C

Comments:Financial - Not the best teacher, but he's there to help when you need it so you just have to take advantage of it. He's very understanding. Had 7 tests throughout the semester which was nice in case you bombed one. I wouldn't recommend him as your first choice, but he's not the worst choice. Didn't really feel prepared for the final. He's crazy smart so just ask for an explanation and he'll have it.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:4330 - Dr. MacGregor is an awesome professor. He knows exactly how to make an 8:00 am class fun and enjoyable to go to. He is willing to work with you on your grades, and he is almost always in his office. The workload for his section is minimal, and it is easy to get an A in the class even if you don't make an A on any of the exams. He has built in extra points into the syllabus to help you get the grade you want. Just do well on the homework and in class exercises and show him that you are working hard, and you will do fine!  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:Audit - He isn't that great of a teacher, felt like he didn't really teach much after the first test. He does try to make it easy though, with extra group quizzes and take home exams. He is funny, and tries to make the class bearable.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:Audit - Hard class and this prof is crazy. BUT he is literally crazy . . . it is super funny. He makes fun of people which makes the class go by faster. Also he gives lots of bonus points, which helps.   - Grade In Class:B

Comments:audit - absolute worst prof at baylor. changes grading system during the semester, which i'm not totally sure if you can do. he has NO respect for students. if you take his class you'll have to be careful because his head takes up most of the room. just ask other people who have had him how their experience was  - Grade In Class:B+

Comments:ACC 4330 - Dr. MacGregor is a really smart guy. So, he can teach the material, but is kinda sarcastic and sometimes embarrasses students in front of the class. His tests are fairly hard, but he structures the course in a way that you could make an A without making A's on the tests, which is really nice. He is pretty new, so he changed assignments and grading policies during the middle of the semester, which was frustrating. But like I said, he knows auditing and is pretty sharp and funny. Take his class, but have thick skin.  - Grade In Class:A
