Comments:1301 - If you are looking for an easy A. Look not further. I didn’t get an A because I missed a few HW assignments but he gave me so much extra credit that I got my grade back up. He is the man!  - Grade In Class:B+

Comments:ENV 1301 - I loved Professor Nesmith. Not only was the class very easy (which it should be as a class that everyone takes for non major credit), he was also a very fun and enthusiastic teacher. He had this quiz/hw assignment each week, which was all online in some capacity so I think I got 100 on all of them except I think one. They took max like 15 minutes. They were a great grade booster of anything and thats the only homework you have the whole year. The tests were also easy and I didn't study very hard for the first two which was my fault. They go basically entirely off the powerpoints that he presents and posts but they're really long so I never really looked. On the last exam (which was during finals week, it wasn't cumulative though, just the last few sections of material), I needed a fairly good grade to keep an A, so i studied a lot. Basically all of his test questions are on quizlet, just kind of spread around so you have to study a lot of them. I did extremely well on the final and finished it really quick so take that as you will. Overall, awesome teacher with a lot of energy, he was like a fun grandpa that I wish I had, and a very easy course, especially for never having to pay attention or do much work outside of class. He also gives a lot of extra credit. Please take him, you will do yourself a huge favor.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:ENV 1301 - An angle on earth, such an adorable older professor, he brings the class prizes all the time, he'll give tons of extra credit options, and even give you some points back on exams. The weekly homework is IMPERITIVE to your grade but it is easy and helps narrow down the material that will be on the exam. Take him if you can!!  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:PPS1100 - com. gardens: you know when the baylor survey asks if you have an adult other than your parents that you trust? mine would be dr nesmith. literally this man is a gem and i want him to be my adopted grandfather. he is so so welcoming to everyone in class and really cares about making class fun for everyone. he brings his dog to the end of the year garden party and GRILLS for the entire class. you have to write a few one page papers about gardening/compost/GMOs but he grades very fairly and will not fail anyone who tries. you do meet outdoors in the baylor garden (by the grad student housing) which isn't listed on bearweb when you make your schedule so do consider giving yourself time to get there between classes. 10/10 would take again.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1301 - I loved Dr. Nesmith. He was an excellent and humorous teacher. He often looked for ways to involve students in the class and was accepting of views from many viewpoints.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1301 - I loved Dr. Nesmith's class it was one of my favorites. Overall it was an easy class. The only homework we had were weekly quizzes but they were so easy and you could do them at home. The test were not hard if you read the textbooks and take notes in class. They are mainly from the textbook but they also included some things during the lecture. The test were 50 multiple choice. There were a total of 3 test including the final. The final is not cumulative. The class was about 50 students but it was not super hard to get help. The class is an easy A. I recommend Dr. Nesmith he goes beyond the lecture and shows his passion for the subject.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1301 - Wow what a blessing to this university! Mr. Nesmith is one of the most kind, uplifting, and joyful professors I have ever had the privilege of taking. Some of the topics are actually interesting, and the workload is almost a little too easy. This class is only comprised of two tests and the final (which is not even cumulative), and weekly online quizzes which are insanely easy and take about 10-15 min. The quizzes should be easy 100s, and the tests are not that bad provided you read the powerpoints that he posts on canvas. Other than that, there is no other outside class work. It is almost impossible to not get an A in this class. Not only is this one of the easiest four credit science+lab courses, but Mr. Nesmith is just an amazing guy. This review is no different from the rest, but because I love this man so much, I just had to add another positive review just for the thrill of it. Amazing man, great GPA booster, a must take!  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1305 - I took this to satisfy my last lab science credit. I actually really enjoyed this class. He has powerpoint slides that you can print out. There are online quizzes each week which are really easy. I didn't open the book. He requires the supersite code. He plays a review jeopardy game with questions pulled from the test. Great GPA booster.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:ENV 1101-15 - SELECT THIS TEACHER if you have to take this class. This professor was super patient and really helpful. As a student with a LD I appreciated a teacher that understands.  - Grade In Class:B

Comments:1301 - He's a great, fun, and open-minded professor. I took his class to fulfill my last science+lab requirement after hearing about how great his class is. He's a good dude, the class is super easy (just lecture+powerpoint+note heavy). I have never actually read the book, but had to buy it for the online quiz access. There are quizzes due every week, all of which are super easy. The tests are easy too. He gives out extra credit often, and shows videos in class that he sometimes asks about on tests for extra credit points. I only ever did work for this class when it was studying the night before an exam or doing the quizzes (which took 10 minutes tops). Take his class if you want something easy and chill, you won't regret it!  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:ENV1301 - The past reviews are kind of misleading. This is still a pretty easy class, and Nesmith is awesome, but this semester wasn't like the past reviews have said. We had no open note or take home tests, and you definitely have to put some work in to get a good grade. But even so, it's not a hard class and I still definitely recommend him. We played games in class and he tried his best to make the information fun to learn.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:ENV 1301 - Do not believe the prior ratings that rave bout "open book tests" and "only studying for 20 minutes." Not saying this class is hard, not saying they were lying, but Nesmith has definitely changed his ways over the years. You'll probably get an A in this class, but unfortunately 0 effort will not cut it--tragic, I know. You don't have to go to class because he just reads off powerpoints and then puts them online, but you do need to read the book and look back on the quizzes to get As on the tests.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1301 - When I took this class, he had a BU books rating of a 96, so I assumed it would be the easiest class in the world. Now, it wasn't hard, but it was unfortunately more work that I expected. There is almost zero weekly workload, but the bummer is that you actually have to read the textbook chapters before the exams. You dont have to pay attention in class because it is all from the book, but he will pull questions directly from the book that may or may not be on the powerpoints. He tries really hard to be cool and funny, and hes not a bad guy. He gives a decent amount of extra credit and wants everyone to do well. Basically, you should read the textbook and that sucks, so either take him or not, your choice.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:ENV 1303 - Taking Nesmith will be the best decision you ever make, he is the man. Literally zero workload except for 20 mc questions a week. Every class he just goes over powerpoints that are exactly from the textbook so you don't really have to pay attention to do well on the test, just read the chapters for 20 minutes before and you'll be fine. I could have skipped every class and still gotten an A but I went soley because he is such a funny guy. Nesmith is a great guy who cares about his students. Gives extra credit for going to athletic events and stuff like that. Overall pretty interesting class and great teacher. Highly recommend   - Grade In Class:A

Comments:ENV issues - Wow- what a nice professor. It was hard to stay awake during the MWF 8ams, but so worth it. According to other students who have taken other profs, he is by far the best. Even though I never got A's on the tests (always high B's) I still managed to get a 97% in the class. Y'all - make sure to do the online quizzes. The answers are in the book and the quizzes are just a BUNCH of free 100's - that's what brought my grade up so high. That, and the days he gave us extra credit just for coming to class.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:ENV 1301 - YES please take him. The workload is not bad at all, and I didnt pay attention in class sometimes and still could catch up on the material easily. He makes class pretty fun, and makes the material at least interesting compared to other classes. He will work with you on whatever you need, and is just awesome.  - Grade In Class:B+

Comments:ENV Issues - He is a great guy and a great Professor. I didn't need this class, but took it as an elective just because I am very interested in the subject matter. I am so very glad that I did. He is hands down my favorite Professor at Baylor. Engaging and fair testing methods. Take him and you will not regret it! Ps--he throw candy sometimes for participation...  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:ENV 1301 - TAKE THIS CLASS. Seriously. Mr. Nesmith is such a sweet guy, and while his class got a little boring at times, I overall really enjoyed it. The mastering isn't hard- and BTW- don't spring for that crazy expensive book- buy it used and get the access code off of amazon ( found mine for $7). There were only 2 tests, a final, mastering and easy extra credit in the gradebook, so very small workload!  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1301 - Nesmith cares about his students and their success. He wants every student to be present every class and rewarded us with a cookie cake for 91% attendance. Class can get boring, but stay with the PowerPoint and skim the readings.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:ENV 1301 - Nesmith is by far my favorite professor at Baylor. He is an excellent teacher who cares about what he teaches and his students. His class is very easy and interesting (but maybe I'm biased because I am an Environmental Studies major). His tests are easy: study the power points for an hour and you're golden. He gives out a ton of extra credit and candy on review days. If everyone is present in class for one day, he said he would buy the class a cookie cake. He is just all around an extremely nice guy and a great teacher.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2013-12-16

Comments:1301 - This is definitely one of the best blow-off classes that you'll take at Baylor. Mr. Nesmith is an overall great guy and instructor. He makes the lectures semi-interesting and tries to make the class fun with different games, movies, and candy for participating. He offers many extra credit opportunities as well as online homework assignments that are free points to skyrocket your grade. The tests are PURELY based on his power points and he puts them up on Blackboard, so you really don't need to take notes during class. Take this class!  - Grade In Class:B+

Date: 2012-11-14

Comments:Environmental Studies - Great Teacher! Very nice and helpful. Lots of extra credit and open book tests. Plus Mr. Nesmith remembers everyones names and tries to engage them in class. Great class and even greater teacher!  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2012-04-11

Comments:ENV 1301 - Mr. Nesmith is very friendly, makes jokes, is mindful of your time, and is just a nice guy in general. He offers several extra credit opportunities, if for some reason you needed them, and his quizzes/tests are straight from the book and his PowerPoints. Hardly ever any homework except rare reading and online quizzes. Classes are admittedly a little boring, but he tries to liven them up with funny videos, sometimes candy, and attempts at telling jokes. If you need an easy science credit, choose Doug :)  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2011-12-02

Comments:ENV1301 - VERY EASY! As long as you have your book for the tests and know what the subject of the chapters are, there is no reason you should not get an A. He is very helpful and offers extra credit for anyone who needs it.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2011-06-30

Comments:1301 - Mr. Nesmith is extremely easy. If you want to be on your computer for an entire class, take him. If you really want to learn a lot about environmental science, take someone else. He lectures straight from the powerpoints, and tests and quizzes are online, multiple choice, and open book (I never studied and got A's). He is really nice, funny, and really appreciates participation!  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2011-06-22

Comments:1301 - Mr.Nesmith is a very nice teacher and cares a lot about the students grades and realizes that students have other important classes. He knew everyones name in a 60+ students class. His test and quizzes are all open book but I recommend you studying a decent amount over the test. Overall easy class and great teacher  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2011-05-05

Comments:ENV 1301 - Very nice guy. He cares so much about his students, and tries really hard to interact with them. In a big class, that's tough, but he still tries, and I'm pretty sure he knows everybody's name in my 50+ student class. Also, just the opposite of Lehr in terms of creepiness. Take him, this is the easiest science class you could ever take.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2011-04-11

Comments:1301 - Mr. Nesmith is the nicest man! This is such an easy class. Never any homework. A few online quizzes, and the exams were online so you can use your book. He is very kind and caring, and tries hard to get to know his students. Definitely recommend him!   - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2010-12-15

Comments:Env Issues - Easy class. Take this Prof. New at Baylor (as of fall '10). All tests are online. Quizzes are also online. It'd be a damn shame if you didn't make an A in this class.   - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2010-11-15

Comments:1301 - Super easy class. Don't need to study just go to class. There are 3 tests all online including the final, so you can use your book. Only a few online quizzes throughout the semester but really easy, and no regular homework. Mr. Nesmith is REALLY nice. He understands students have other things going on and is willing to work with the students in the class. Also offered extra credit for those in the class who wanted it, though I don't think anyone in the class really needed it, more of just a buffer.   - Grade In Class:A
