Comments:1310 - Just teaches straight from the ppts. This class was an 8 am and literally everyone slept during the lectures. There's so much information to be covered for tests.  - Grade In Class:B

Comments:REL 1310 - Dr. Benesh is a very sweet lady. However, her tests are so detailed and it takes a lot of work preparing for it. We have weekly quizzes over readings. I never read over any of the material, but still got an A for my quiz averages. Her tests are very detailed. Make sure to memorize all the ppts. There's about 600+ slides that you have to go through for each test. I grew up in a church and didn't think this class would be that bad, but it was tough. I would go to her office hours and spend days preparing for her tests, but they were still hard. She doesn't give any extra credit or doesn't curve tests.  - Grade In Class:B

Comments:REL 1350 - Benesh is a great teacher. Although she lectures almost every day, she keeps them from being boring and has a good sense of humor. The class is not hard as long as you put forth some effort. There are 4 test worth 80% of your grade and 10 quizzes, plus 2 church visits, which make up the other 20%. She also offers a few extra credit opportunities throughout the semester. Her test are usually about 40 multiple choice questions with a short answer section. She is generous when grading the short answer. She usually has 9 short answer questions, but you are only told to do 5. She provides an out of class review session, which is very helpful. She basically tells you the key points to know for the exam and what you can ignore. As long as you study for the tests and do the reading you can get a good grade in this class.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1350 - Dr. Benesh is so sweet and willing to go the extra mile to help students do well in her class. She even let me take an exam early because I was going to be out of town for a concert on an exam day. Her pop quizzes are very simple if you do the readings, and it's usually relatively easy to guess which day she'll give the quiz. She drops 2 quiz grades, too. Her tests are pretty simple, and she gives out a review and hosts a review session before each one. She also posts all of her powerpoints online. She's so cheerful and sweet in class, making an effort to relate things to pop culture or things students know and care about. She also offers extra credit, up to 10 points on test grades by going to outside lectures. No papers! I got a 93 on every single exam.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1350 - She's the best. I have zero complaints. She gives a study guide and holds a review session before every test. Do the reading so you can ace the pop quizzes because that's going to come back to hurt you if you blow them off. She's very sweet and helpful and one of the nicest professors. There is zero reason for someone to do poorly in the class.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1310 - Dr. Benesh is honestly the best, sweetest lady I have ever met!! It is definitely helpful to read the text as there are 6 question quizzes about once a week (she normally tells you when you have one), but necessary. Her tests are strictly based on her powerpoints which are straightforward. She also holds review sessions before each test and tells you exactly what is on each test. TAKE HER!!!  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1350 - Benesh is a sweet old lady. She hardly gives any homework, offers way too much extra credit, and her exams are fairly easy. Also about twice a month, she would buy bags of candy for the students to pass around during her lectures. She is passionate about the material and tries to make her lectures fun and interesting. I thoroughly enjoyed her class and it was a great GPA booster. I never did a single page of the reading and still got an A-.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1350 - Benesh is one of the most caring professors at Baylor. She's such a fun and sweet woman who is very helpful. Her test reviews practically give you the test questions. Her tests are very straightforward and rather easy; she also grades the short answers very generously. Weekly quizzes aren't that difficult either.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1310 - Dr. Benesh is the best decision for Scriptures. She makes her lectures fun and engaging. The readings were reasonable and the weekly quizzes were easy. For the test, I would recommend just reviewing your notes and knowing what the themes are. She even has a study session before each test and tells you what to focus on and what to ignore. I have never received less than a 96 on her test!  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:REL 1310 - Dr. Benesh is amazing! I was rarely bored during her lectures and her tests/quizzes are extremely fair. I definitely blew off a few too many quizzes and ended with an A- rather than an A because of my quiz average, so I would highly recommend at least skimming the assigned reading before each class. There is only one quiz a week, so if there was a quiz Monday, then I just wouldn't read for the rest of the week and I was fine. Her tests come from information straight out of her power point slides, so memorizing those by heart will get you an A on each test. She is a very thorough and helpful professor and I wish I could take her again for Heritage.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1350 - Great professor. I took her for Christian Scriptures and Heritage. Just do the reading, come to class, and study her power points for the test.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:Heritage - Dr. Benesh is the best! She makes the material interesting and the tests don't have any surprises. There is reading every week but it's not too bad. I definitely recommend taking her if you can.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:REL 1350 - Great teacher! Her tests are tough but fair and she is very enthusiastic about the subject.  - Grade In Class:B+

Comments:1350 - Had her for Christian Heritage. Would recommend. She had planned her lectures out so that we could get the friday before spring break off! Readings were doable. Most of the time they were 5-10 pages. Occasionally, we would have to read more. There's a pop quiz once a week but you can usually predict which day (for instance, if there was a quiz on weds and next week the quiz would be mon or fri). Tests were pretty straightforward since if you went over the powerpoints then you were good (her powerpoints tend to be a bit long though). There were also short answer questions on every exam but those were doable as long as you studied and did the readings.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1310 - Dr. Benesh is AWESOME!!! 8am MWF was enjoyable and I always looked forward to it. She lectures a little fast, but show up, pay attention and do some readings a you'll be fine. I would recommend her to anybody. Again, Dr. Benesh is AWESOME!!!  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1310-Scriptures - Dr. Benesh is amazing!!! Very helpful. nice and a great lecturer. I had her for 8am Christian Scriptures, and I looked forward to every class! She is awesome.  - Grade In Class:B+

Comments:REL 1310 - Benesh is an amazing lecturer. As a Christian, I had already read the majority of the Bible before taking this class, and I was able to get away with never reading for this class and just taking notes in class, studying them for the test, and making A's. Benesh made class very enjoyable, and she seemed almost like a grandmotherly figure to her students. Great class; great professor; 10/10 would take again.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2015-12-19

Comments:1310 - Professor Benesh is a very good professor. Her readings assigned for each night are not too bad, but she does give a lot of information during class for each exam. She gives so much information and does not give any specifics about what will be covered on the exam which makes it very hard. She does give a quiz every week and as long as you do your readings every night they are very easy. I have made 100 on every one of them.  - Grade In Class:B+

Date: 2015-11-18

Comments:REL 1310 - I love Benesh. She has a lot of energy and is just a nice person. On top of that the class was interesting and very easy. If you pay attention in class and study for any time at all, you will do well. Great class  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1350 - Mrs. Benesh is awesome! Take her if you can. You have weekly reading quizzes, 4 tests, and a couple church visits. She doesnt give you a ton of dates to remember for the tests, she is more interested in the theological points in history. She is knowledgeable, helpful, and passionate.  - Grade In Class:B+

Comments:1350 - Mrs. Benesh is a very good professor!! Her test are dificult, but if you take a lot of time and complete her study guides you will do well. She is really fair and plans review sessions around everyones schedule. Her quizzes are straight forward and easy if you read the assigned readings. At the end of the semester she gives a fairly easy extra credit assignment that will go towards your test grades.  - Grade In Class:C+

Date: 2012-05-06

Comments:1350 - She's the sweetest lady ever. She's really accommodating of all her students' schedules/workloads and tries to schedule quizzes and review sessions around them. Her tests were pretty easy to me but you definitely have to study. There are 12 multiple choice quizzes (6 questions, 5 points) and 4 exams (the final is not cumulative). Class was really boring but I think that's just because I had no interest in the subject. I would definitely recommend her though!  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1310 - I loved her she was so funny in class and didnt preach at us and made the material fun and interactive i had her at 8am and i never dreaded going to her class she gave us donuts on fridays sometimes and her exams were easy and she just explains things really well  - Grade In Class:B+

Comments:1310 - Mrs. Benesh is the best! She is a wonderful professor. TAKE HER! You have 12 quizzes, but she drops the lowest 2 quiz grades. The quizzes have 7 questions, but you only need to get any 5 right. If you fail the class, it is your own fault. Mrs. Benesh is more than willing to help you if you do not understand something. The reading can sometimes be lengthy, but it's understandable considering the course. She even gives out sweets when reading from the Bible in class. I have extremely enjoyed having her as a professor.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:REL 1310 - Mrs. Benesh is great! She always kept us updated on assignments through e-mail and even sent us occasional reminders to read. She gave about 12 quizzes on the reading throughout the semester, which were very easy to make a 100 on as long as you read. The reading load is about average, in my opinion; she never assigned anything she couldn't do herself. She liked to break the monotony of listening to lecture and assign some group projects in class, usually just summarizing or discussing a certain part of the reading. Like the other review says, she's like a grandmother figure: super sweet, helpful, and excited to teach. Her class really taught me a lot!  - Grade In Class:B+

Comments:REL 1310 - Mrs. Benesh was an INCREDIBLE teacher. She was so passionate about the information that it was impossible to not become excited as well. There was a decent amount of reading to do however it was nothing that wasn't handleable. She was so sweet and always open for questions and to help. She reminded me of a grandmother figure. There were weekly quizzes over the reading that helped my average SO much. They are 7 questions and you only need to get 5 right for a 100. If you have the opportunity I'd definitely suggest taking her as a teacher. So many professors require long essays and projects that ruined the fun of the class, she did not. The tests aren't that bad either as long as you study. TAKE HER!!  - Grade In Class:A
