Comments:1321 - As someone who did alright in his class, what I will say is that he is a great person, and a very good professor. He's super helpful and understanding, I slept through one of his classes when the semester had just started and he wasn't upset or anything he just told me what I missed and I was surprised by how kind he was about it. I will say that if you take his class you have to be prepared almost every time because there is a daily quiz that is about a half sheet of paper. It's usually like two to three questions about the section that you learned the class before. He also hand writes all his notes and then projects them on a screen which I've never seen before (he handwrites some jokes into that as well). All in all I would recommend taking his class, and make sure you don't waste how good of a professor he is, like I did. Additionally, I did have his class at 9, 3 days a week so that might have added to it.  - Grade In Class:C+

Comments:1320 - I've never thought of myself as someone who is "good at math" but after taking this class I am a lot more confident in the subject. Professor Bryan is a great teacher who just wants you to succeed. I didn't start going to office hours until later in the semester and I definitely regret that. He is very good at teaching one-on-one. The exams aren't too bad but definitely not easy. There is a quiz every class that count towards 10% of your grade which means you should go to every class prepared. This forced me to make sure I fully understood every topic and I think it's a main reason I did well in the class. I would 100% recommend taking his class!  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:MTH 1321 - Tommy is an AMAZING professor and everyone who is new to math should take him. He goes over material in class in great depth and explains concepts in a way that is intuitive and concise. If you have doubts about your mathematic abilities you should 100% take Tommy as he's also a really sweet teacher and encourages questions in his class. He will have daily quizzes on every class day that go over the Achieve homework due the night prior, however these quizzes are fairly easy and you will earn a 100 on most of the quizzes if you pay attention and do your homework without cheating an absurd amount. Overall, Tommy is probably the reason my grade was so high in Calculus  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1321 - I’ve always loved math but the reason I dropped this course was because I did not put in the effort to do practice problems outside of class you. TAKE THIS PROFESSOR. His lessons are easy to understand he does not solve through problems but he has pre written problems and he explains how to solve it step by step. I recommend doing a lot of practice problems so that you don’t forget how to solve the equations. He has quizzes before each class period. They are not difficult at all it is all basic knowledge about what you learn. My grade was so low I had to drop because I had 8 ams everyday and I would not make it to class on time and would miss so many quizzes. the quizzes are based off the homework that is due the day before class. Do not try to cheat your way through this class put in the effort if you ever get stuck on a problem in the homework use AI but only to help explain the steps on how to solve. There is a lot of homework assigned but it truly helps you if you try and solve it out. His Exams are very straight forward and is very similar to the reviews He and the SI assign. Truly such a nice professor that wants you to succeed. Definitely go to office hours if you need help.  - Grade In Class:DROP

Comments:MTH 1312 - He has quizzes every day over the last thing you learned, publishes Class Notes ahead of time on Canvas, and uses the same online homework software everyone does. The departmental final will absolutely ruin your psyche, but otherwise, his tests are pretty fair.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2024-01-02

Comments:1321 - He is a great professor that teaches very well. His daily quizzes help you go over the information learned from the previous lectures and he clearly explains what he expects on each exam. He provides plenty of practice problems and answers to help you prepare for exams.  - Grade In Class:B+

Comments:1321 - I LOVE HIM SO MUCH!!! HES AMAZING!!! This profession was definitely meant for him. He teaches so well! But, this course is still Calculus; so you have to make sure you pay attention during class, do the homework and understand it, and do the SI worksheets for practice. He also posts the actual exams he gave the semester before so that you get the feel for it. His class is extremely organized and there will never be a day where you will wonder what y'all will be doing! He helps you paint the bigger picture and loves answering questions! Make sure you pay attention in his class! I recommend taking handwritten notes even though he posts his notes... it makes a huge difference. He truly values our education and wants us to succeed. I am a public health major and his class makes me want to be a double major in math.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:MTH 1321 - Dr. Bryan is pretty alright professor. His class is not super easy or hard. His lectures are probably my least favorite part about the class, as he just goes on about theory and principles about what you're learning. That being said, it is a math class, but I just found his lectures to be boring and I never really paid attention. He gives out daily quizzes that quiz you on the book problems he assigns every day. I wasn't a huge fan of this style of homework, but I found that looking back it did actually help me learn the material, however, I'm a little biased being a STEM major. If you don't need to know calculus for your major I could definitely see how his class can be annoying or even difficult. That being said, if you're not a STEM major I would not recommend him, however, even if you are in STEM, there are definitely better options, but Dr. Bryan is still a solid pick.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:MTH 1321 - Dr. Bryan is a decent professor. He was friendly, and very helpful with answering questions both in class and in office hours, but his lectures were often just him reading the notes verbatim-- not the worst thing, not the best. That said, all his notes are published and he explains concepts well. In lieu of 'homework', he assigns problems each night that are the same concept as a daily quiz. It was a bit tedious having 36 quizzes, but they were never very difficult as long as you had an understanding of the concepts/could complete the 'homework' problems, and he would throw us free quiz every second or third week. Grading for this class was the 30 highest quizzes (6 drops), with 5 points added to the average. There are four exams (one of which can be replaced by the final) with around 16 free-response questions each, as well as a ~20 question departmental final. The final is 30% and the remaining exams are worth 14% each, with the homework average also being 14%. The only complaints I have are these: the exams usually had something unusual that had not been explicitly addressed, which required you to think a bit out-of-the-box with some problems. The big issue I had (not sure if this is departmental or personal) was the grading requirements. Getting the correct answer is only worth 10% credit, if that. You MUST show work the way he wants you to show work to do well. At times, it felt like we were getting nickel-and-dimed with a point here and a point there for the wrong format on our work despite a correct answer, which became frustrating. Success isn't out of reach, but just be prepared to show the work he wants on homeworks and exams. Overall, Dr. Bryan might not be outstanding, but he is a solid choice and will work with you to help you succeed.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2023-03-27

Comments:1321 - I loved professor Bryan. Of course this class was hard, it's calculus, but I think he helped make it as easy as he could. There are 4 tests and quizzes that are each 14% of your grade, and then the final is 30%. There is a quiz every class, but they're pretty easy and he gives helpful feedback on them. There are questions from the textbook for practice, but they're not actually due and I never did them. He gives you a sample exam which is just the exam he gave the semester before, so doing that and the practice questions help prepare you for the exams. Overall a challenging class but with a great professor.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2022-12-28

Comments:MTH1321 - I loved Dr. Bryan! His teaching can get a bit boring, but his exams are almost identical to the final. He offers so many resources to help you study with marked problems and quizzes. You can ask him literally any problem and he will help you out. He is super helpful, just keep practicing problems and you will definitely get the hang of it.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2022-12-11

Comments:1321 - I took him over the summer and honestly thought he was the laziest professor. I paid $4,000 for that class and all the guy did was post videos he made 2 years ago. I received zero help and taught myself the entire course. This class is not that hard he just doesn’t make it any easier.  - Grade In Class:B+

Date: 2022-11-02

Comments:1321 - This professor would be very good if you had taken calculus before and understood it. Currently, I am retaking this course with another professor and what took an hour for Dr. Bryan to explain, it takes 10 minutes for my current professor to explain. I am now making 98% in this other calculus. Professors truly do make a difference. But Dr. Bryan is very sweet and personable. I just don't think his teaching and wording matched me.  - Grade In Class:F

Date: 2022-08-04

Comments:1315 - Prof. Bryan is really nice and cares about his students' success. We did a packet every day in class and we turned in homework online once a week, so the workload is very doable. He lets you use a cheat sheet on every test too, so that's great. My only critique is that the homework didn't come directly from the work we did in class, sometimes it was more abstract or a concept we had to look up on our own. Besides that, Prof. Bryan is great!  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2021-11-15

Comments:1321 - Dr. Bryan is super sweet, very helpful, and is always open to questions. 4 exams, weekly homework. The tests were very very fair, always covered what was taught, and were not too lengthy which I appreciated. However, his teaching style is not for everybody. His notes/lectures can be confusing for those who have no prior calculus experience and I don't think they are very thorough. The textbook sucks too. You could probably learn more from youtube. Overall, I would definitely take Dr. Bryan again and I think he is a great professor. You can tell he cares about his students!  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2020-12-16

Comments:1321 - Prof Bryan is a phenomenal teacher and really cares about his students' success. The daily quizzes are easy because they are just there to make sure you understand concepts and if you do poorly on a few of them (it happens) he drops the three lowest quizzes. The tests are not made to trick you, and he gives partial credit on quizzes and tests. He also returns all tests and quizzes so you can see what you did wrong  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2019-11-19

Comments:MTH 1321 - Although I had taken BC Calculus in high school and therefore covered material through Calculus 2, I chose to retake calculus 1 as it helps establish a strong foundation and is easier on the GPA. Dr. Bryan explains the concepts of the course very well, but does expect that you learn a little as well from the homework and the chapters assigned (which is absolutely normal). The workload is barely anything, and the quizzes are all open homework, on the homework (VERY easy to do). He has an SI if you need any help with concepts you need to understand and will be glad to help you during office hours or at some other time if you have a conflict. This is a rather easy course, with an engaging professor.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2018-12-11

Comments:MTH 1316 - Don't get me wrong, this class is super easy but it was actually so annoying. You learn literally zero information, and you spend your class time every day working on a packet with a partner. My partner and I ended up just trying to see how fast we could finish the packet so we could leave class. Professor Bryan is a really nice guy but he doesn't teach anything, doesn't even know all the answers to his own questions, and is a super picky grader. He takes off points for not having the specific wording he wants, and for one of his assignments a perfect score is a 95%. He also doesn't use Canvas so you never know what your grade is in the class (but trust me, you'll end up more borderline than you think). However, he is super lenient on homework due dates and he does let you have a cheat sheet on each exam. However, the other teacher for 1316 does really cool activities that actually help you practice teaching math, and it's a way more hands-on and helpful class. Professor Bryan is nice, but if you have the choice, definitely take someone else.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2018-05-10

Comments:1321 - Despite my grade in the class, I cannot give Dr. Bryan a bad review. In class, he spends a lot if time deriving equations and doing pointless things. I usually walked out of the class confused. However, he is amazingly patient and helpful during office hours. He will review for the tests with you and review the homework problems if you have any questions. The reasons why I didn't thrive in his class is because he asks a lot about how graphs relate to each other on his tests and concepts, but as a sciency person, the math process was the only thing that stuck. Yes, Calc at Baylor is hard, but if you've taken Calc in high school, Dr. Bryan should be a perfect fit. If you haven't and you've not a math based person, I would recommend another professor. Overall, be sure to go to office hours and the SI sessions. They are very helpful.  - Grade In Class:C+

Date: 2017-12-16

Comments:3316 - Mr Bryan is the best teacher! He genuinely cares about whether you learn the material and will bend over backwards to give you help. His office hours are frequent and he is so helpful during them so if you have any confusion it would be cleared up then. I'm so bad at math but this class made me feel so much better about math.  - Grade In Class:B+

Date: 2017-12-04

Comments:3318 - Tommy Bryan is AMAZING! he is so kind and passionate about what he does. He has been one of my favorite professors. He is always willing to help and is very understanding if you cannot get something in on time. He really wants you to understand, so he will go out of his way to help any student out. TAKE HIM!  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2017-04-27

Comments:1316 - Bryan is honestly a great professor. There is a lot of outside work, but if you don't procrastinate, you can get it done with more than enough time. He gives homework assignments, "polya problems" (hard to explain), and problem of the day sets (in class). The entire semester in class you work in a group on the problem of the day sets (about 23 of them) and you get a group grade for it. They are super easy grades if you actually try on them! The homework is usually over a reading and you answer step by step questions, super easy if you actually try! The polya problems can be super difficult but you get 2 weeks to do them so just take your time and take advantage of the class time he gives for you to ask questions! He also lets you turn homework & polya problems in a day late with NO PENALTY! So you have more than enough time to finish your assignments! He is super awesome and I recommend taking him!  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:MTH 1320, MTH 1321 - If your primary mindset about taking math courses like the ones I took (Precalculus and Calculus I) is "I'm ready and eager to learn", then you will find Dr. Bryan a highly rewarding teacher. As a lecturer, Dr. Bryan is clear and organized. He is also patient towards his students, even when they ask questions in class that might be obvious. Without overdoing it, Dr. Bryan also brings his own sense of humor and color to the subject matter, which is another reason I found Dr. Bryan to be an effective speaker. Homework is clearly written on the side chalkboard every day at the beginning of class, and any graded assignment is announced at least a week before its occurence, if not earlier. Quizzes, which require you to transcribe your work on any recently assigned problem to the quiz paper, are not difficult if you keep up with homework. Exams certainly require command of the material, but Dr. Bryan faithfully provides exams from past semesters and lists of selected review problems from the text to help his students study. I always felt that these materials prepared me adequately for exams. In Calculus I, I made the extra effort to spend time with Dr. Bryan after class to discuss questions I had had with the assigned homework. My completionist attitude towards the assigned homework was appreciated, I think, and I learned a lot by talking about the subject matter with Dr. Bryan, who was always ready to explain concepts from a different angle or simply double-check my work on some tough, tangled algebra problem. I could not recommend Dr. Bryan more highly; his classes have been no doubt my most satisfying academic experience freshman year.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1320 - An amazing professor! Easiest class ever. Take him!  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2016-04-15

Comments:1320/1321 - TAKE HIM. PROS: You HAVE to go to his office hours. He is extremely helpful and will help you with any questions you have from the problem list (homework). I suggest asking him all the questions you're not sure about before the HW quizzes so you can get them right. A typical HW quiz is copying 4 of your home work questions on a sheet of paper and you should get an A because you can ask him, your SI, students...etc to make sure you got all the questions right. (All because the 4 questions are random and you don't know which ones he will ask.) Tests are easy as long as you do the review questions and the past exams he posts on canvas. He is great at explaining because when he introduces a new topic, he makes sure to describe the origin of the theory and concept, which makes math make sense. CONS: none. TAKE HIM! He's mind blowingly helpful during office hours.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2016-02-06

Comments:1320 - Bryan is excellent at teaching. He is very concerned with helping you understand the material. He is a bit goofy, but that makes the lectures more enjoyable. He likes to explain why things are the way they are, rather than telling you to memorize the information. His quizzes are directly from the homework. His tests are all free response. They are rather difficult, though. He teaches you everything you need to know. Just take good notes and do all of the practice problems he assigns, and you should be fine. This man is one of the best professors I have had.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2015-12-28

Comments:Pre-Calc - Bryan is a very kind and caring professor. He cares for his students and takes the time to help us when we are super confused. He's also an entertaining professor. However, if you don't understand math very well, do not take him. Bryan expects his students to have some background knowledge in Pre-Calc and if you don't understand Pre-Calc now, you definitely wont understand it in his class. I struggled a lot with this class since I had very little background knowledge. However if you easily understand math, i highly recommend him.  - Grade In Class:C

Date: 2015-11-19

Comments:1321 - Dr. Bryan is a very good lecturer and a helpful professor. I struggled in his class having no background in calculus, but managed to improve upon each exam as the semester progressed thanks to his help during office hours. He covers the material extensively and clearly enjoys it too, which helps. He is very friendly in his office hours, and he will grow fond of you if you come in often (he intentionally bumped me up from a B- to a B because he knew me and that I worked hard). A truly kind man who wants you to succeed, Dr. Bryan is a solid choice for a calc 1 professor. Mind you, his exams are very challenging and make the course hard, but if you consistently complete the homework quizzes and speak to him often, making a B+ or better is reasonable. I loved having him and highly recommend, as you will learn a lot and can do well.  - Grade In Class:B

Date: 2015-03-16

Comments:1321 - Professor Bryan is a really nice guy who tries to make the material interesting (as interesting as calculus can be). He does seem to cater the class towards students who have already taken the class in high school as he would skip some steps in the explanation, however, I never took it in high school and he was more than willing to explain the steps if you raised your hand and asked or asked after class. He assigns one or two sections of homework after every class but has time the next class to answer questions over the assigned problems. Homework quizzes are usually once a week and you copy down 4 problems from the assigned sections from that week. Take advantage of Math Lab and SI as they helped me tremendously. He also posts an old test with the answer key before each test which give you an idea of what the test will be like. Tests are manageable if you put the time in to study (do the practice test, old homework problems, review problems, etc.). Your grade in this class will reflect the work you put in  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2015-01-03

Comments:1320 - Dr. Bryan is a nice man, but I believe he favorites some students. His homework is not complicated and the quizzes come directly from the homework. The tests were okay. Some parts were difficult, but his way of explaining things and showing work seemed too long and drawn out. I showed my work a different way than him, yet he counted points off of my tests and quizzes. His class is not difficult, but if you simply want the math credit, I do not suggest taking Dr. Bryan.  - Grade In Class:B

Date: 2014-01-06

Comments:Pre-Calculus - Dr. Bryan was a very nice teacher but taught in a very unusual way. He often took the long way of explaining something that was very simple... we would have entire classes explaining something that could have taken 5 minutes. He is very smart and open to help in and outside of class, but he really confused students with his "methods". He was very fair with grading and gave homework quizzes (he gives a quiz asking for specific answers from the homework), which could easily bump your grade up. If you are into knowing the "why" behind math, then this is the perfect class for you. But if you are a student who knows the answer because "it's just the answer", I would recommend another professor.  - Grade In Class:B+

Date: 2013-12-14

Comments:1321 - Professor Bryan is good compared to most other Calculus professors but we all know how bad the math department is when it comes to teacher quality so that doesn't say much. He curves each of the exams if you make above a 60, but he grades your work really hard. There is a homework quiz about every week and a half or so on which you just copy his 3 - 4 selected problems down for him to grade, so you have to keep on your homework. Grade weight: HW - 10%, 3 Tests - 20% each, and Final (departmental) - 30%. He allows you to replace your lowest exam grade with the Final Exam grade if it is better, but this means that 50% of your grade is up in the air until after the final. He explains concepts pretty well but sometimes his (mildly severe) perfectionism gets in the way of his teaching because he gets caught up in little details that aren't important and it wastes time. I would take him again because he was the best of my options at the time, but Ryden is better at teaching in my opinion.  - Grade In Class:B

Date: 2013-05-02

Comments:Pre-calc - Dr. Bryan was an excellent professor! He knew how to explain math concepts very well and his tests covered everything that was on the Departmental final. The only problem was that he was a slow grader (with quizzes and exams). He handed back all of our quizzes/exams, but never posted our grades on blackboard. Other than that, I only wish he were teaching Calculus next semester...  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1304 - Perhaps one of the best math teachers i have ever had. Not a very entertaining character but has his moments, and really makes the math easier than other teachers. Definitely taking him again  - Grade In Class:B

Comments:1304 - The profesor was really clear and concise. He also was nice to his students. I hated math or anything to with it until I got him for precalculus.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1304 - Dr. Bryan is a great teacher. He is good at explaining things and is more focused on his students learning the material rather than memorizing answers. Once trigonometry started, his lectures and examples were as great as the other lectures, but they aren't horrible. You have quizzes about once a week. The quizzes are homework quizzes where he'll put problem numbers from the homework and you simply copy all your work. Easy 100 on quizzes if you do the homework. The rest of your grade is dependent on exams. Dr. Bryan posts practice exams on Blackboard which are great indicator of how you will do on the exams. Each exam is worth 20% of your grade. you have three exams plus a final exam worth 30%. Dr. Bryan is a great professor and really cares about his students.   - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2010-12-09

Comments:1315 - If you work well by learning in groups, then take Bryan. However, if you want the teacher to teach, then take someone else. The polya problems take a lot of time. It was a difficult class for me because I like to learn from the teacher, as I am suppose to. But, he is really nice and he loves math.  - Grade In Class:B

Date: 2009-12-21

Comments:MTH 1315 - DO NOT TAKE BRYAN. He never actually taught this class... We would come in everyday and work in groups. He would walk around and offer "help"... but not really. I tried so hard to like this guy but it was just impossible. He grades so hard, and marks off for the dumbest little details. I have always done well in math in high school but then I took his class. He give Poyla Priblem and thoses are the hardest timg I have ever ever done!!!!! Take another teacher for this course!!  - Grade In Class:C+

Date: 2009-12-18

Comments:MTH 1308 - Dr. Bryan is very patient and kind, but going in during office hours and reviewing with other students was my best bet in the class. He has all kinds of theories and methods behind things, and he tends to make concepts harder than they actually are. This ended up causing a lot of confusion for me, and his tests are way harder than what he teaches in class. I would do well on the homework and quizzes, but got C's on the tests. We had daily homework, and the quizzes come right out of the homework, so if you keep up with your assignments, you will do fine.   - Grade In Class:C

Comments:1309 - He was easy, because I had taken AP Calculus in high school, so it was like review. He was not the best teacher if you have not taken Calculus before. The tests were very easy, because the questions come straight from the homework.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2009-01-30

Comments:Pre-Cal - He is a good professor. He teaches the basics of the subject, so do your homework in advance so you can ask him more in depth questions. His tests are a lot HARDER than the information that he teaches. Make sure you know how to do ALL the problems in the book. The Math Lab should become your best friend!   - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2008-12-24

Comments:MATH 1304 - Mr. Bryan is awesome! Take him! He explains conceptually so you can apply principles to any problem. He gives open quizzes which are open homework and the questions are straight out of the homework. His test questions make you think a bit. If you want to guarantee an A, make sure you can do all of the practice problems in the sections, not just the assigned ones. All of the tests are curved. He will replace your lowest one with the final if you do better. He always gives class time to ask questions about the homework and is excited to help you if you go to his office. Not only was the class easy, but I felt like I learned something. I felt very well prepared for the departmental final. Take him!  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2008-12-18

Comments:1304 - (Pre-Cal) Bryan is such a great teacher. Unlike others, he actually explains to you where he is coming from as he works problems in class; he SHOWS where numbers came from and when you ask a question he's very good at explaining things, unlike other professors that know their stuff very well but can't explain it to save their lives. I got a D in this class first time I took it with Bruder, but Bryan made it easy and enjoyable. His tests aren't hard if you do the homework, which is very reasonable and he replaces your lowest grade with the final if it benefits you. Seriously, TAKE HIM!! you'll be happy you did!  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1321 - if you have to take calculus, take bryan. trust me!! it'll be worth your time. i understood nothing about the subject going into it, and though i was sometimes confused about the concepts and made mistakes on the tests - he gives great curves and really tries to insure that you get the best grade possible for your efforts. i would highly, highly recommmend him!  - Grade In Class:B

Comments:1316 - This class was very hands-on. We were split up into groups of about four students each, and every day we were given a worksheet to work on with our group. The worksheets usually involved manipulatives, and they really made me think about looking at problems in different ways than what I was used to, which is a great skill for a teacher to have. My group got along well, so we usually had a lot of fun working together during class. Whenever we had a question, Mr. Bryan was extremely helpful. You can tell that he cares about teaching, and he wants us to be great teachers also. To top it all off, as long as you do the work, it's VERY easy to get an A. Also, you can leave whenever you finish the worksheet, so I got out early every day. If I need to take another math class, I will try to get Mr. Bryan again. I highly recommend taking his class.   - Grade In Class:A

Comments:MTH 1316 (teacher math) - YAWN. that says it all, right there. Mr. Bryan is really really boring, and class is the exact same thing every day. However, I did learn a lot about how to teach from this course, which is the whole point. Polya Problems are really time consuming but we only had 4 or 5 of them, so thats do-able. other than that, no homework. Exams aren't hard, just very comprehensive. KNOW YOUR STUFF. Mr. Byran isn't a bad teacher, I've heard that there are others that are better though.   - Grade In Class:B+

Comments:1320-1321 - Very good teacher. Don't sleep in class. Do the Evens and the odds if you don't understand the work. Always in office and always willing to help. Tests are average. Quizzes are a blessing if you suck at math like me. If you are mentally challenged in math, take this man.  - Grade In Class:C+

Comments:1304 - Pre-Calculus - Dr. Bryan's class seems to be a hit or miss. Though some found his lectures confusing, I thought they were very clear and extremely helpful in clarifying key ideas. With that said, it is up to you to read the textbook and attend tutorials when in need. The class consists of 3 exams that are very representative of the final and 9 homework quiz grades (the top 2 were counted twice), so it's very easy to loose points. Still, Dr. Bryan is clearly the most generous mathematics teacher I've ever had when it comes to grading. There's roughly a 5 point curve on every test in addition to partial credit (which I'm told most teachers do not give). If math is not your speciality, it will require additional effort regardless of professor, but having Dr. Bryan does make the effort much easier, and certaintly more rewarding. I would highly recommend him and would take him again.  - Grade In Class:B+

Comments:1304 - Do yourself a favor and stay the hell away from this man. Worst teacher I have ever had for the hardest class I've taken. I made A's in math in high school. He's a dweeb and doesn't explain things at all. I regret not dropping it towards the beginning of the semester. DON'T TAKE BRYAN!  - Grade In Class:F

Comments:Cal 1 - He's a pretty good teacher. His quizzes are "open-note" where you just copy your homework. He drops about two quizzes. His tests aren't hard either. Just pay attention and do your homework and you should be fine.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1316 - This class takes a different appraoch to learning math. Everyday you work with a group. You have to buy no book for this class, which is nice. The polya problems are the only really bad thing about this class. The HW is easy as long as you take the time to do it, and the tests aren't that bad.  - Grade In Class:B+

Comments:1321 - I liked Prof. Bryan, but sometimes I did not understand what was going on in the class. He's available often, and teh quizzes are over the HW, so make sure you do the problems. Your final is designed after them too. You may have to do some extra studying on your own, but overall I liked him as a professor.   - Grade In Class:B

Comments:Calc - I might make an A in this class....... hes a decent prof, but i think that if i didnt have a strong cal background, i would be completely lost at times. he only explains the examples, which i dont find very helpful since we can work the examples ourselves. he is nice and he loves math. He tries to help you out. If you have taken a calculus class before, he is great, but if math isnt your forte, I would be a slightly hesitant about this class. i guess my high school cal teacher just explained things more thoroughly   - Grade In Class:B+

Comments:Pre-Cal - Decent teacher, but can not relate material to students. be prepared to learn everything on your own, or from a classmate. He always has to make the problem have some deep meaning or adds a theory. Grading for test is cool, cause he gives pts for wrong ans. The class does get boring, alot of outside studying to teach yourself.  - Grade In Class:B

Comments:pre-cal - WOW! what a great professor. i am terrible at math (or thought i was) he makes it interesting and understandable. light years ahead of any other math teacher. plus he actually tries to understand where you are coming from on test questions and awards partial credit accordingly. what a baller.  - Grade In Class:B+

Comments:1316 - Very good teacher. Loves math and it shows. Cares a lot about his students and is good about moving due dates around to cater to the needs of us. I could do with out the Polya Problems, but considering there is no other homework for the class.. I can handle it. I would recommend him to anyone!  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:Bryan was very nice and helpful. However, his tests were hard for someone just starting Calculus. I stayed very confused in his class. I never knew what was going on and I hated the problems we did in class. I would have much preferred to have gone over homework problems and focused on the style problems in the book, instead of the ones he made up in class. Plus, the tests are HARD.

Comments:he's a good teacher. he gives the same assignments every year, so if you know someone that has taken the class before...maybe they can help you out. plus, it's good to look at old tests from his other classes. there is homework after class...but usually it isn't too much. you do group work every class time. i've never taken a class like this before. it really makes you think.

Comments:I thought he was a great prof. He made it fun and easy. Tests were slightly hard if you don't study but if you do you will have no problem. Some assingments you will think are strange but its worth it considering you could be doing boring problems from a text.

Comments:I thought Bryan was both a good teacher and a bad teacher. Sometimes he would explain things perfectly, and sometimes no one in the class would understand what he was saying. Nevertheless, the class isn't real hard, and he is probably one of the better Mathematics teachers here. I recommend him. Average effort got me a B.

Comments:He is by far the best mathematics teacher I have had at this University. He goes into great depth to make sure students understand concepts and is always willing to explain more if you need him to. Yes, his tests are a little hard, but that's just because he makes you think. If you listen in class and do the homework you will do just fine.

Comments:very patient. wants you to understand. course is different than most math courses. xmanian can be fun.

Comments:Xmania what?...you'll understand once you take the class. He teaches things in strange ways, but not much work and an easy grader.

Comments:If you struggle in math I wouldn't recommend this class, his test questions are worded a little hard but he grades very mercifully.

Comments:Very nice, helpful, and easy to understand. He kinda reminds me of the T2000 from the second Terminator movie...which makes you want to have your homework done on time.

Comments:Very thorough and helpful. Very good Calculus teacher to take.
