Comments:ECO 2307 - I hate economics and find it pretty challenging, but as far as econ professors go Szozi is a pretty good choice. He’s very nice and will help you as much as he can, and he gives a lot of extra credit which is weighted pretty heavily and helps a lot. There’s also a few homework assignments that aren’t due until the end of the semester that will boost your grade a lot, they aren’t hard and most of it can be found online. Exams are tricky, but he has practice questions that are really similar to test content.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2024-04-13

Comments:2307 macro - Ssozi is so so nice. Gives so much extra credit, many which appear as exact test questions. Helpful during office hours. The material is naturally tricky but his review sheets are helpful for the exam. Be sure to pay attention to lectures because extra credit questions are from there. Also, if you display effort there is a random grade boost at the end.  - Grade In Class:B+

Comments:2307 - Easily one of the nicest professors at Baylor. He gives a lot of extra credit opportunities he calls snacks and he is always willing to help you. The reason that his ratings are so low is because the content itself is naturally tricky. I would definitely recommend him but keep in mind that it will not be a walk in the park.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2023-05-17

Comments:Macro - I put blood sweat and tears into this A. The trick is to literally memorize the review questions. The class averages were usually D's. Would not recommend taking this class. Super nice guy though and really funny.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2022-12-19

Comments:Macro - Literally don't do this to yourself. I took this during COVID which I think is the reason because he had no clue how to teach virtually. His tests were just so hard for no reason and I can not tell you a single thing I learned. Take this course through MCC that'll be the best decision you'll ever make.  - Grade In Class:C+

Date: 2022-11-09

Comments:ECO 2307 - Great person. You have to study the notes for a good grade. Exams are worded by how Ssozi works. Ssozi posts reviews, full notes and slides and explains them in class, they have all the information on the exams. To me, this class was far more difficult than it needed to be.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2022-05-13

Comments:2307 - Ssozi is a sweetheart. Although he is not the best at teaching, he is always willing to meet with you in his office hours to explain, go over quizzes, or tests. His class is boring, but he offers the powerpoints, notes, and practice questions that make up the quizzes and tests. He is pretty easy, but studying on your own is required.  - Grade In Class:B

Date: 2022-05-09

Comments:ECO 2307 - Ssozi is a chill professor but after the first week of lectures I realized that I do not need to pay attention in class. He has very detailed class notes and practice quizzes that are basically the exact same as the quizzes/exams. However, this professor cannot teach and rarely responds to emails regarding any questions about problems. If you struggle in econ, you probably don't want to take him. If you are good at faking it till you make it, take him.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2022-04-11

Comments:ECO 2307 - Very confused why his ratings are so low. Sszoi provides the powerpoints in addition to lecture notes (hint, if you memorize specifics from the notes they are exactly what are on the exam). He has gives 6 extra credit opportunities and if you do well on them, they boost your grade a ton. He also gave me a completely random grade booster that bumped me up from a B+ to an A before he put the final grades in.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:2307 - Ssozi is the reason i switched majors to finance  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:ECO 2307 - I took ECO 2307 (Macro) during the summer semester 2021. Ssozi is available and answers questions very well. His quizzes and exams almost entirely match his review questions. If you complete the reviews and understand them, you will do well. One downside to having Ssozi is that his notes and powerpoints are soooo long, to the point that's its an overload. Focus more on the review questions and you will do well. Listening to his lectures isn't always the most fun, but you learn a lot and he is a very sweet man who genuinely cares about his students success. He also consistently thanks his students for putting in effort in the class which is something he does not take for granted. This class with Ssozi is one of the easier classes in the business school. Take him!  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:2307 - Very nice and genuine guy. A little hard to understand at times. Tests and quizzes are entirely based off notes and review questions but you need to know the notes exactly to do well.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2021-05-10

Comments:ECO 2307 - Ssozi is a wonderful man! His class is super engaging and he provides lots of conceptual help. If you listen in class, you will do well. His practice questions are identical to the quizzes and exams so study those and you will do great! The only homework is due at the end of the semester and you have all semester to work on it. This is an easy class if you pay attention. If you don't go to class you won't do well.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2021-04-20

Comments:ECO 2307 - Ssozi is really difficult to understand. He makes the class more difficult than it needs to be. Ssozi is not very straightforward when it comes to exams and class questions. He would give us very looong study guides with great questions but wouldn’t give us the answer key until the day before the exams. If you have the option, I’d go with a different Professor unless you know how to teach yourself.  - Grade In Class:B

Date: 2021-03-04

Comments:4314 - I took Dr. Ssozi for his Economic Development course and it wasn't bad. My biggest complaint might be that his syllabus did not have much structure, and we ended up having more/less tests or quizzes. Instead of a final we had a take-home quiz that was pretty straight forward and he isn't a tough grader. I think out of the five quizzes, only one was in person and the rest were take-home quizzes more similar to a homework assignment. When preparing for his tests, just make sure you know everything he asks on the reviews because the questions were all short answer. Most of the review questions just come off of the powerpoint, and when taking notes, just make sure to write down everything he writes on the white board. Overall, the content of this class was pretty interesting although a little dry at times.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2020-12-10

Comments:2307 Macro - I just created this account to write a review for Ssozi, after reading his past reviews and knowing someone who had taken him he has completely changed his teaching style to help students. This semester, unlike previous ones he would; type out condensed notes that would follow exactly with what he says, post answers to his test reviews which made studying a lot less stressful, and use powerpoints to lecture rather than writing paragraphs on the board. He was also always available to answer any questions we had. Ssozi is also a great guy, he is the most accommodating professor I've had at Baylor so far, for every chapter he would offer what he calls "snack" quizzes that were completely optional. But if you took these short 10 question quizzes, you would get a certain amount of extra credit points towards your overall grade that would help a ton. They are only meant to help you understand the material and give you insight into how exams would look, all while boosting your grade. All in all he is such a great teacher and I would highly recommend him.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2020-12-04

Comments:2307 - I actually really liked Ssozi!! Yes he basically just writes the textbook on the board but his tests and quizzes are easy if you just read the textbook, which is a lot easier to read than a regular textbook. Even after getting a D on the first quiz, I still ended up with an A. One bad grade won't kill your overall grade. He is really nice in office hours, and I could tell that he really appreciated it when students took the time to ask him questions outside of class. The class overall was not easy but getting an A is possible. Take him!!  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2020-05-13

Comments:2307 - Horrible prof, class isn't very hard but I imagine it would be easier with a prof you can actually understand. Dude makes you take a 1000 pages of notes and they are mostly bullshit. This guy sucks. His exam reviews do not have answer keys and he won't give you the answers if you ask him. Worst prof I ever had.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2020-05-12

Comments:2307 - If you cannot teach content to yourself, do not take this with Ssozi. He is a very nice man with good intentions and can actually be pretty funny sometimes, but all of his notes are straight from the textbook. Word for word. He doesn't really describe HOW aspects of the economy work, rather he just says what happens and moves on. You'll be ok if you can teach yourself how these different economic functions work together, but you're in trouble if you have no idea what's going on. An A is possible if you really put in the time and effort, but it can be easy to lose focus, especially if you have him early in the morning. Overall, nice man with good intentions, but recites info straight from the book without adding anything new.  - Grade In Class:B

Date: 2020-05-09

Comments:ECO 2307 - Awful, awful, awful teacher. Reads straight from the textbook. Offers no actual help in any way. Gives 100 problem review sheets for tests, but doesn't give the answers to them...apparently not knowing the actual answers helps you learn! Creates an assignment and then emails you that day saying you have till tomorrow to complete it. Szozi should not be teaching in any way, shape, or form. Take literally anyone else.  - Grade In Class:B

Date: 2020-04-28

Comments:2303 - He is simply not a good professor. I rarely get on here to speak my mind but I must warn anyone taking this class that you will be dealing with a subpar professor. Coming from Finelys micro class I have been appalled by the lack of understanding from this man. He literally writes word for word from the textbook on the board and is more boring than watching paint dry. His office hours are not helpful either! His explanations dont offer much help and they are very matter of fact as if of course you should know this. I would advise trying to read the text book because it explains the material better than him. Be prepared to teach yourself cause you aren't gonna be learning from him. We pay good money for Baylor and its sad that we have to deal with a professor who regurgitates information from a textbook. SAD!  - Grade In Class:B

Date: 2020-04-28

Comments:ECO2307 - I would love to watch a group of big Ugandan men attack SSozi while the shove the economics book in his face saying "READ THE BOOK" I don't like this man too much  - Grade In Class:B

Date: 2020-04-15

Comments:ECO2307 - This guy is a pain to sit through. No need to take notes because he just writes the book on the board. You are better off bringing the study guides and trying to answer those each class. I meant to take a video of him everyday when he says "goodmorning" and make a compilation but never did. He is also not personable at all. I was talking to him after class and he ended up turning off the light of the classroom and walking away as we were talking! I was chasing him and talking to him and he just dipped. NOT COOL SSOZI  - Grade In Class:B

Date: 2020-01-22

Comments:ECO 2307 - Please try to take anyone else. If you get stuck with him then try to do the following: 1. Read the book, this is more important than taking notes in class the exams and reviews come from the book. He gives out a review before every exam that has around 100 or more questions but will NOT give the answers. 2. Make sure to do this review and CHECK the answers with a friend. The exam questions are very similar to the reviews. Those two things are crucial for this class. I did not do those two things till the last half of the class and still brought my C up to a B+  - Grade In Class:B+

Date: 2019-12-22

Comments:ECO 2307 - He is a nice guy, but not great at teaching. He is very hard to understand and his hand writing is just as hard to read. His office hours are very limited, but somewhat helpful. He goes very in-depth on each topic, so we only covered a few topics and what we did learn was very confusing at times. If you can take another professor, please do.  - Grade In Class:C

Date: 2019-12-18

Comments:2307 - Most students come onto BU Books because they feel as they have been gypped out of a higher grade/love a professor. I am neither. Professor Ssozi is simply a terrible professor. He lacks teaching ability, is extremely unhelpful at his office hours, provides zero constructive feedback following tests, is terrible at engaging the class, and is all around disinterested in teaching. As a person, Ssozi isn't a bad guy but lacks what is needed to even be a competent teacher. I spent my time reading the textbook during class since he reads directly from it and taught myself the course. Other students complain about his accent, truthfully it wasn't hard to understand him at all. I would stay away from him if you are incapable of teaching yourself and care about your sanity.  - Grade In Class:B

Date: 2019-05-06

Comments:2307 - Ssozi is very funny but a bad teacher. He writes on the board directly from the book. The tests come straight from the book and his test reviews are super long but his test questions basically come straight from the review. If I did not have to go to get attendance points there would have been no point in going to class at all. The quizzes and tests are hard but like I said if you study the review before taking them you'll be fine. He does not give you an answer key for the review and will not tell you the answer if you go to office hours which sucks. It is not impossible to make a good grade, you just have to teach yourself.  - Grade In Class:B

Date: 2019-04-13

Comments:2307 - DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR. I promise you this isn't be being bitter about my grade, I got a C+ in my last economics class and I still recommend that teacher to everyone. Ssozi is by far the worst teacher I have ever had at Baylor. He gives you review sheets for the tests/ quizzes which would be helpful IF THERE WAS AN ANSWER KEY. You are basically just answering questions blindly and if you ask him for help he says " the answers come from you reading the textbook." ???? he is just awful and the entire class is him writing things on the board that you have to copy word for word. I really hope he stops teaching economics soon so people can get someone that they can actually learn from. If you are really really good at teaching yourself an entire subject from an overpriced textbook, then take this class. If not, stay the hell away from SSozi  - Grade In Class:C+

Comments:ECO 2307 - I actually have an A-in this class. First of all, he has a really heavy accent and he is from Uganda. But that's not a problem at all because I understand 99% of what he says. The problem is he will give you 100 practice problems on each chapter but he does not give you any answer to any of the questions. If you go to his office hour to ask help on the practice problems, he will give 0 help. He says that will actually help you learn. The truth is, I learn nothing in this class and just hope I at least at an A- in this class. Otherwise, I will blame this man for lowering my GPA. And I am on Dean's list for three consecutive semesters, so I study really hard for all of my classes. But for this classes, I feel like I don't know anything at all. Another thing about homework, the concepts on the homework are an extension of what he teaches in class, so you really need your SAT critical thinking skills to do those homework. Half of questions on the quiz comes from the review questions, but half are those that you have never seen before. The test is alright but the free response questions are the hardest because you really need to know the concepts well and he covers those concepts in his lecture and they are not in the textbook. By the way, the textbook is horrible. It is written by Baylor's economic department and the book does not explain the concepts well or in depth. Sozzi should use a different and better textbook with more depth and explanations. People say Sozzi is easy only because he has little workload, but that does not guarantee an easy A. That was what I thought before I took this class and read the reviews online, but no. I would rather work hard for a class, learn something, and get the same A- I got form this class. Another thing is, you think you could potentially get some help from the tutoring center. But no, the macro econ tutors in sid rich forgot everything they had learned in ECO 2307 and they would expect you to help them answer your question.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:2307 - I cannot stress this enough......STAY AWAY FROM THIS MAN. He is the single most terrible, unhelpful, uninspiring professor i've ever seen. Literally will lecture for 55 min straight just regurgitating what the book says. Writes everything down on the board in which you are supposed to copy the information. Didn't know 55 min classes could feel that long but I look at my watch everyday waiting for the moment I am free of this man's boring/unhelpful grasp. Absolutely no help whatsoever ever. Offers a review test for his test in which you might think thats great.......he doesn't give answers to them, and trust me, they're hard to find online so good luck digging for them. Even when you call him on it and ask if we can come in to see what were getting wrong, he simply responds "if you know the material, you won't get anything wrong". WTF? If you go in for help he will honestly tell you to "look at what the book says", isn't that your job to help me dude!?! Gives 3 tests and 3 quizzes before those. Both are pretty difficult and are tricky in question wording. Quizzes are handed back for you to keep and you guessed it........no answers for you to see what you got wrong. Idk what cheese older reviews see in him, i guess he's nice, sometimes. I honestly despise the mornings I have to wake up and spend with him. I know there isn't much to pick from in the Economics department but for God's sake, if theres someone better, take them. You'll do yourself a favor.  - Grade In Class:B+

Date: 2019-03-07

Comments:Eco 2307 - His test questions can be miss leading and confusing. His office hours are useless because he is not going to help you.  - Grade In Class:C+

Date: 2018-12-17

Comments:2307 - Professor Ssozi reminds me of King Julian from Madagascar more than anyone with his accent. It's super funny and enjoyable but lets not let that distract us from the real problem. First off he lectures for 55 minutes straight everyday. He expects you to write every thing he is writing down on the board and retain it at the same time which doesn't work. His test are multiple choice and short answer. If you get the answers right on the review and study those, there are 25 of them that show up on the test. His hw is easy because you can figure out the answers by getting It wrong and it gives you the answer. Overall if theres anyone else better take them. Don't forget that he is from Uganda and that means he doesnt take any ish from no body. UGANDA FOREVER  - Grade In Class:B

Date: 2018-12-10

Comments:Econ 2307 - Ssozi's class is not exactly the hardest especially if you put effort into it. However, he may be the single most unhelpful teacher I have ever had. If you ever have a question or want help he will simply tell you, "read the textbook." My advice, take somebody else who will actually teach you instead of telling you to read the textbook over and over again.  - Grade In Class:B

Date: 2018-12-10

Comments:2307 - Not a fun class to take, very boring lectures. The tests and quizzes can be on the easier side if you prepare, but some can be very confusing because he can be misleading on which information he is testing on. His office hours are very limited and he is not very helpful. The homework was easy and did help m understand the material.  - Grade In Class:B

Date: 2018-12-10

Comments:2307 - Ssozi really is not that bad. His lectures are dry, and he literally writes the textbook word for word on the board. But, his quizzes and tests are very straight forward, and if you listen to him, he is actually pretty good at explaining any difficult concepts. Overall, you will be fine if you take notes and study them before quizzes/tests.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2018-11-09

Comments:ECO 2307 - These reviews are harsh. Ssozi is a solid teacher, the expectations are clear and if you take good notes and study efficiently, you will do fine. The only noticeable flaw is his accent, which just takes a little time adjusting to. However, compared to other teachers for this course, Ssozi is about as good as it gets. He is a great man, you will learn and an A is attainable with a solid work ethic.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2018-05-24

Comments:2307 - Although my grade doesn't show it, I did learn a lot from Ssozi. As long as you study the notes on the board, you should be fine. His accent isn't as bad as some people say, and while his handwriting isn't the best, you could ask him to go over it. Tests and quizzes consist of multiple choice and free response questions.  - Grade In Class:C+

Date: 2018-05-09

Comments:ECO 2307 - Ssozi is an awesome professor. He is very knowledgeable in economics. His accent is strong, so it may take a class period or two to get use to. His reviews are very similar to the test and his free response and short answers are comprised of vocab and topics, many of which he "emphasizes" in class. (If he starts numbering something odds are its on the free response, same with charts). Very straightforward guy. Very easy to get an A in the class if you attend, pay attention, and really try on the reviews.   - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2018-08-21

Comments:Macro 2307 - Ssozi is not very hard to understand and yes, his handwriting is bad but rarely so bad that you can't read it (you can always ask him what it says and he will tell you), so sit near the front! However, the class is boring and is ALWAYS 50 minutes of pure lecture...or quiz/test. Never reviews or a shortened/cancelled class. I went to every class and studied really hard to earn my B+ (higher than class average). Few online homework assignments on Pearson which are easy but Pearson isn't cheap and that's all he uses it for! Short answer is very hard, multiple choice is easier but not gimme. You have to go to his office hours if you want to see your exams. He is not helpful or friendly in office hours. I do not know a better option for Macro, but I do not recommend Ssozi.  - Grade In Class:B+

Date: 2018-01-02

Comments:ECO 2307 - This class is not bad at all? His accent is not a problem, and if you pay attention, neither is his handwriting. He is always available to answer questions concerning the material and loves helping you! He gives extra credit for perfect attendance and is more than accommodating if you need anything. His class does require a bit of self-teaching, but it really isn't that hard. If you take good notes, read the chapter, and use those to fill out the reviews, you will do fine on tests and quizzes. He occasionally holds us one minute after we should get out, but that didn't bother me as much as it did others. His tests come straight from the notes/reviews and the final isn't cumulative. The short answer isn't hard if you know the material. Memorize every list, cause-effect, and definition he gives and you should be fine!  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2017-12-11

Comments:2307 - I really don't know what the other reviews are talking about when they say that Ssozi is a good professor. He has a really strong accent and terrible handwriting and half the time he doesn't even know what he's talking about. He mostly teaches straight from the book but if you ask him a complex question about anything related to the topic we are learning he shows how much he really knows. Ssozi always shows up to class late and drags class on past the time. He goes on half-hour long tangents about horses and Socrates when no one knows how to answer his questions in class. He basically has no work for the class which is good and bad because although the workload is easy you really don't learn much. For his tests, the multiple choice is pretty much straight from the review questions online but for his short answer, if you don't answer his extremely vague and often confusingly worded questions exactly to his liking then you get it all wrong. I have never disliked a professor's teaching style than I do Ssozi's. I'm warning you, although he may have the highest rating, do yourself a favor and avoid him.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2017-12-10

Comments:2307 - I warn you now. Avoid him. Disregard all other reviews. He cannot teach to save his life. He will mispell a word on the white board and then have a 20 min unrelated conversation about that mispelled word. He also never stops when class ends and times his quizzes and tests too short. I had a 98 in AP economics in high school and whatever this man is teaching is garbage.  - Grade In Class:B

Date: 2017-11-12

Comments:2307 - Class is horribly boring, you will take notes nonstop from beginning to end and never get out early. He's a nice guy but not a good teacher at all, unless you learn from straight note taking there are much better professors out there.  - Grade In Class:B

Date: 2017-04-25

Comments:2307 - Ssozi is a nice guy, but his class is awful. His accent is very thick, so understanding his lectures is nearly impossible. He also changed his syllabus / tests bc previous students told him his class was too easy. Now, the tests are short answer and multiple choice. He lectures from the beginning to end, no stopping. It is honestly one of the most boring and irrelevant classes I've taken.  - Grade In Class:B

Date: 2017-04-20

Comments:ECO 2305 - Dr. Ssozi is the perfect median of a teacher. He is not bad nor unreasonable, but you'll definitely be frustrated with him a few times a semester. HW's are guranteed 100s, and tests come almost directly from provided study guides. However, Ssozi will not give you the answers for those study guides, even if you go to him and ask about things you cannot solve. The class is fairly good on the whole, just can be frustrating.  - Grade In Class:B+

Date: 2017-04-07

Comments:2307 - DR. SSOZI IS ONE OF THE BEST TEACHERS EVER! In my opinion, macroeconomics is one of the driest subjects that we as business students are required to take. Ssozi makes the class fun and very interesting. The way he does class notes may not be the most effective way, but it definitely gets the job done. The only homework you have are online chapter quizzes about every 3 weeks which are very very easy. Dr. Ssozi gives you multiple choice review packets and the multiple choice questions on his tests are WORD FOR WORD off of the review packet he gives you. The rest of the test is short answer and he pulls the short answer straight off of the class notes. As long as you study the review packets he gives you and the class notes, you are destined to get an A. A lot of people complain about his accent, but his accent isn't bad at all and its actually very cool! I would take Ssozi again every semester if I could.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2016-12-21

Comments:Micro - Ssozi is not a good teacher by any means. He was extremely difficult to understand as a result of his accent; even more so, his lectures were often incoherent, and contradicted the book. I would often have to email him multiple times in a row to get a response, and he was frequently short with me and other students. Truthfully just not a nice guy, not a good teacher.  - Grade In Class:B+

Date: 2016-11-21

Comments:ECO 2307 - Ssozi is the sweetest person ever. While your hand will cramp from note-taking the entire class (he will never let you out of class a minute early), the overall course is pretty fair. If you read the book and answer the review questions he gives to prep for tests, you'll do fine! I've definitely enjoyed the class and it's been the easiest business class I've taken so far. Definitely a GPA booster!  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2016-11-14

Comments:ECO 2307 - Ssozi is a cool guy. He is really helpful and knows what he is talking about. He is always willing to help a student out whenever they need it. The class load is super easy- about 5 online homework assignments you have unlimited tries on so it's a guaranteed 100. The tests are not bad- half multiple choice that are exactly like the review packets. The hardest part is the short answer because he can really put anything on it (math, graphs, definitions, explanations, lists, ect.) But overall the class was not bad- just go to class, and read the book.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2016-05-14

Comments:ECO 2307 - To build off the the post below me, I was one of the unfortunate ones who got an 84 in the course, yet received a B-. Still, the practice questions replicate the exams. Do them and you will understand the material enough to at least earn a B. However, I would still recommend Ssozi. He is a very kind professor, and he was really good at pulling the best out of his students.  - Grade In Class:B

Date: 2015-12-01

Comments:2307 - Ssozi is a cool guy, but his grading scale is absolutely insane. With the addition of the new minus system, he has his cutoff at 85%, which means if you get an 84% in his class youll get a B- and that just isnt right. His class isnt overly difficult though, just do the review questions he gives you for the tests and pay attention in class.  - Grade In Class:B

Date: 2015-05-07

Comments:2307 - Ssozi is a character. He does have an accent, but it really isn't that hard to understand, and sometimes it's comical. He really tries to help you understand economics. If you want to learn it, he is willing to help you. DO THE CHAPTER REVIEWS THAT HE GIVES!!! They will seriously save your life on tests. Overall though, it's not that hard of a class if you put in the work.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:2306 - Pros: TAKE HIM if you can. Do not take Professor English she's an absolute @$$. Ssozi Loves economics like a baylor student in starbucks. Knows how to teach to your understanding. Helpful during office hour and jokes a lot. Very sarcastic professor but means no harm with his jokes. Gives reviews similar to exams to help you prepare without freaking out. May or May not curve depending on how hardworking the class is. Always wants to help you pass but never fail you. I don't think he'd fail a student honestly because he actually cares about your grade. Exams are multiple choice similar to review and some short answer that's not difficult at all. There's HW but it's short and not difficult. It's there to help your grade not destroy it. Cons: Someone said he's Nigerian. I asked and he's Ghanaian. He has an accent that you will quickly hear in class but nothing that you can't understand so no need to freak out. May always sarcastically answer your question in a goofy way but the question will be answered. May be slightly late like 2 mins late to class almost everyday. Hates the use of electronics in his class so don't whip out that cell phone or laptop unless OALA has a pass on laptops for you.  - Grade In Class:B+

Comments:Eco 2307 - Dr. SSozi is an overall good teacher. He teaches the material fairly well and his tests are not too difficult. The packets of questions he puts out on blackboard are almost an exact replica of quiz and test questions. He doesn't give out answers, but the questions can be easily answered with the books. I thought the homework assignments were pretty hard but there were few of them. His accent is not bad at all, and it's very easy to get use to it after a week of class.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:2307 - Ssozi is a very nice guy. He clearly loves teaching and respects his students. However, he is a very bad teacher. His exams are too long, and the material that they cover is too extensive. There is no efficient (see what I did there) way to study for his tests. The multiple choice reviews take way too long to do, and his powerpoints are borderline incoherent. The man's communication skills are very poor (this has nothing to do with his accent, which isn't a problem). He, like most professors, has trouble communicating basic things that he already knows. Additionally, he is disorganized and frequently lies about what is on the test. He will tell you something to study, then pull a 180 and put 10 multiple choice questions on the exam for a topic he did not say to study. I would tell you not to take this class with him, but I've heard that he's sadly the best Micro/Macro teacher at Baylor. Take the classes in the summer at MCC and get it over with in just a few weeks.  - Grade In Class:C+

Comments:2307 - Nice guy. Really nice guy. However he has a VERY thick accent (he is from Uganda) which at times made things hard to understand. He also lectures very quickly so it's important to pay attention. Tests are straightforward as they are exactly what he lectures on. Multiple choice practice questions are provided and he uses these or similar ones on the actual exams. All in all a good guy and I'd recommend him but be prepared to write quickly and pay attention!  - Grade In Class:C+

Comments:Eco 2307 - Although Dr. Ssozi has a thick Nigerian accent he is a VERY good macro teacher. His tests are not bad because all the multiple choice are exactly the same as the sample/practice ones he gives out online. He teaches well and not to much of required outside of class except a few Homework assignments (3). I'd take him over most!  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:2307 - Ssozi is a pretty nice guy. He has a very thick African accent, but I never had a problem understanding him. His lectures are very traditional....write on the blackboard, take notes. Tests are mostly multiple choice with a few short answer. Study the reviews that he puts out before each test--the multiple choice questions come STRAIGHT from there and you can memorize the answers. The book is very helpful for finding the answers, they aren't always in the lectures he gives so don't skip out on buying it. If you just come to class and study a little for the tests you will be fine. Study for the quizzes, they are more like mini-tests and they can make or break your grade.  - Grade In Class:B+

Comments:2306 - He's a great teacher. I had to retake this class and having him I actually understood what was going on in the class. He is there to help and he wants to make sure his students fully understand what's going on. Best Eco professor at Baylor!!!  - Grade In Class:B

Comments:2302 - Tough teacher because of his teaching style but nice guy overall. Was a catholic priest previously and his kindness is evident. Tests can be tricky as well as the homework but If you read you should be fine. Going to his office hours helps tremendously.  - Grade In Class:B

Comments:2307 - he explains everything really well. Actually gives notes in class. He's energetic and does not bore the class to sleep. This isn't a blow off class so if you study and take note of his exam tips you'll get a good grade.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:2307 - Deciding if you should take Ssozi or not is all about your background and your goals. Obviously, everyone has the goal of making an A in the class. If you are like me and have a very strong background in macroeconomics from high school, you can take Ssozi and it will be EXTREMELY easy. The material is not difficult if you know it already. However, if you do not have a background in economics, don't take Ssozi because he will teach you absolutely nothing. Ssozi is a very amiable fellow and treats all of his students with respect. That said, he is a terrible, terrible, terrible teacher. His teaching style is ineffective: he uses PowerPoints and the chalkboard, but can never decide which medium is his primary focus. The man is a bad communicator, and he is very disorganized. If your desire is to learn, steer away from this man. The opportunity cost of taking Ssozi is too high.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:2307 - Macro - the class is easy if you study. He cares a lot about his students and really enjoys teaching economics. His accent is a little thick but you won't have any trouble understanding him. He's a great guy and if your study habits are decent you will have no problems in his class.  - Grade In Class:B+

Comments:Macro - Boring, redundant, over complicates things, doesn't make sense most of the time. Goofy guy but his sense of humor would appeal to a 5th grade level. His tests are pretty difficult and graded very difficult as well. The homework is graded on correctness and many points are lost from that. The quizzes in his class should be treated like a test. They are difficult and sometimes will cover an entire chapter. I would take ssozi for Micro but for macro forget about it. He isn't a teacher i would take again.  - Grade In Class:B

Comments:Micro: 2302 - Bring your translator!!! Dr. Ssozi was not very good at staying on track during class. His off topic comments made sure that i could never keep my train of thought during his lectures. His accent only poured salt on the wounds as i would become aggitated that i could not understand at all what he was saying ...Fortunately Micro is inherently easy or I might have had some real issues.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:Micro - I am hoping to come out with a B in this class. The teacher is super nice and friendly, wants to help students, and is pretty much always available. Everything is straightforward, but I'm just not good at economics. He doesn't drop anything or curve.  - Grade In Class:B

Comments:2306 - Overall, he's a decent teacher. Eight easy homework assignments all semester, a quiz and test for each unit, all of which are very straight forward and... well... easy. Economics is just a boring subject made even more tedious by the fact that his accent is a little thick. He's adorably foreign though, and the class has is moments. While I wouldn't HIGHLY recommend him, you could definitely do worse.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:ECO 2306 - Ssozi was an average professor, nothing major to complain about, but not a great lecturer either. He's fine for micro or macro.   - Grade In Class:A
