Comments:ARB 2310 - Dr. Saadi is easily one of the best professors I have had, and I cannot recommend him highly enough. He is an incredibly caring, supportive, and dedicated instructor who genuinely wants his students to succeed. Dr. Saadi is a major contributor to the Arabic Language Department at Baylor, and his background experience and expertise with Arabic make a strong impact on his classes. Dr. Saadi answers any question you may have with patience and clarity, and he never leaves anyone behind in the class. He makes sure every student understands the material before moving on, creating a welcoming and supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions. He also consistently makes time during office hours to meet with students and provide extra help, whether it’s for understanding grammar or working through assignments. One of the best aspects of his teaching is how collaborative and interactive his classes are. We regularly practice the material together during class, including reciting verb conjugations and working through writing exercises as a group. This hands-on approach makes the material much easier to follow along with and reinforces what we are learning in a clear and effective way. Dr. Saadi also does an excellent job of breaking down Arabic, a language known to be challenging, into simple, manageable, and compartmentalized pieces through the clear structure of his class, making the material much more approachable and easier to understand without needing any prior knowledge or experience with the language. Additionally, Dr. Saadi provides thoughtful and constructive feedback on assignments, which is extremely helpful for improvement. He is very organized in his teaching and is always clear about what chapter or material is being covered, making it easy to stay on track throughout the course. From the very beginning of the course, it was clear how passionate he is about teaching Arabic, and that enthusiasm makes the class engaging to be in. His love for the language truly shows in the way he explains concepts and encourages students to engage with the material. Overall, Dr. Saadi is an outstanding professor who truly cares about his students and their success. His patience, organization, and passion for teaching Arabic create a positive and supportive learning environment. Any student who has the opportunity to take his class will benefit greatly from his dedication and commitment to helping every student succeed.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:ARB 1302 - HE IS JUST OK! I rather have him than professor white comb because prof Whitcomb does not email, and does not engage. However, if u come in with ANY KNOWLEDGE OR CULTURE WHATSOEVER he will expect you to know sooooo much more than you do and then get mad at you when you don't. There is homework every day it is a completion grade but if he doesn't like it he will ask you to do corrections over and over till he is satisfied with it, which can be an utter waste of time. If you ask him for help he is willing and if you ask him to do corrections he is likely to say yes if he can tell that you are trying. His biggest issue is that he thinks his class is your only class and you should master whatever you learned in class by the next class, which is simply NOT responsible. Although he is very intelligent and communicates fine, oftentimes I have no idea what he is trying to ask me in class... and it is not because of a lack of studying. If you have to take Arabic he is the best out of the worst JUST DONT GET ON HIS BAD SIDE! your grade will be fine but you will be drained. He is very chaotic with his syllabus and kinda just does whatever he wants! :/  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:ARB 1302 - As many of the other comments state, Dr. Saadi is very kind and teaches the language very well. I definitely learned more Arabic with him than with other professors. However, the workload is at times very annoying. It required at least an hour for each assignment, and often much longer and immediately after turning it in he sends it back asking for corrections. He also never made a canvas page so I don't know my grade. If you're looking to actually learn the language and use it after graduation then definitely take Saadi, but if you're looking for an easy A take Michael.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1301 - Dr. Saadi is an amazing, passionate, and intelligent prof who knows how to lecture effectively. Arabic is definitely a hard language to learn, but Saadi is always there to help you with whatever you need. Of course, since it's a language course, everything builds upon itself as we learn. Dr. Saadi knows this, so he will continuously reinforce concepts we have already learned to make sure our knowledge is firm. Yes, this course does have a good amount of work in it. Saadi assigns homework every class that can take some hours to complete sometimes, but his HW is actually helpful although it can be alot. Saadi will also take extra time to lecture about a topic if many people are struggling with it. One quick side note, make sure that you really try hard in this course because Saadi is one of those "tough love" types of professors, and he gets disappointed easily if you don't know or study the material when he randomly calls on you in class. This can create a bit of an uncomfortable work environment at times b/c he sometimes makes these passive-aggressive/sarcastic comments which no one ever likes, but that's just one small gripe out of several good points about him. For the tests, he gives us a test sample beforehand which is almost IDENTICAL to the actual test, so take advantage of it! His tests are quite long for a 50 min class period, but you can easily make an A if you study and do the practice test he sends you. Overall, Saadi is a great prof with a passion and zeal for the Arabic language, which is the most beautiful language on the planet, so be sure you are ready to learn when you take this wonderful and fun yet challenging course. I 100% recommend him. ستحب اللغة العربية  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:4301 - He's supposed to teach online but did not know how to do it. The class was a total mess. He might be knowledgeable but unfortunately did not know how to teach.  - Grade In Class:B+

Comments:1401 - Dr. Saadi is great. He has a true interest in teaching the language and in conveying its depth and in seeing students succeed. He's very good at what he does, he has a lot of knowledge about the subject, and he knows how to get students to connect the dots and actively learn, which is important in learning a language. He is also very helpful and attentive. If the class is struggling with a concept, he's more than willing to push back quizzes or tests (there aren't many of those anyway) and he encourages students to come to office hours for anything. Even now that I am in a different class and not technically his student any longer, he still encourages that I visit and he honestly teaches me more Arabic in those short visits than my current Arabic professor does. He is also flexible with his schedule and can often meet outside of office hours. His teaching is very much active. There is little in the way of worksheets or hand outs, so quick note taking is a must. There are no surprises in his tests or quizzes (he is very clear beforehand about what is expected). Generally, he does assign homework every day and it is homework that can sometimes take a couple hours to complete, but this is the cost of actually learning. He in turn takes the time to go through everyone's homework, correct it, and hand it back so we can see the mistakes made and be better for it. On top of being a great teacher, he's also an interesting and kind person. He has set the standard of teaching rather high, in my opinion, and he is still the best professor I've encountered at Baylor. Take his course, especially for beginning Arabic, if you're genuinely interested in learning the language. Don't take Arabic overall if you're looking for an easy grade.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1402 - When I first started the class, I had to come from behind on a lot of things because my 1401 professor didn't prepare me very well. Dr. Saadi was very patient and understanding, and he helped me catch up as best he could. I had some personal issues going on last semester and I couldn't quite pull an A out like I might have otherwise, but it's by no fault of Dr. Saadi. I do think his workload is a bit on the ridiculous side, but the work he assigns really is helpful. His attendance policy is also harsh--you're allowed to miss two days before your grade starts dropping. However, if you talk to him and show that you're making an effort, he takes that into consideration and grades accordingly. He's a very good professor an a very kind man, and I hope to take him again in the future.  - Grade In Class:B

Comments:ARB - I took Dr. Saadi for ARB 2320 and ARB 4331 (Classical Arabic Texts). Take him! He is wonderful. He's extremely knowledgeable and really loves the Lord. He doesn't just want us to drill vocabulary; he wants us to deeply understand the culture and history associated with the language. Sometimes I feel like he goes a little bit slowly in class, but it's because he wants to make sure no one gets left behind. Pay attention, do your homework, study, and you'll be fine. !استاذ ممتاز  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1401-1402 - Dr. Saadi is an amazing professor! One of the best teachers I have ever had. Many kids would not have done well in Arabic if it weren't for him. He is always so patient and kind. Always willing to help you after hours and encourages it. You have homework every night but that's because you meet every day. He honestly wants you to just succeed and does his best to help you. He teaches Arabic in a way that makes it so you learn about history, social customs, and the how the language became how it is so that you truly understand what you are learning. He is such an interesting teacher. Take him if you can! It'll be one of the best decisions you can make!  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1401/1402 - Dr. Saadi is an incredible professor and one of the most helpful people you will get to know. He not only covers a good amount of material over the courses, but he adjusts the pace so that the entire class can keep up with the work and the material. He is genuinely interested in seeing students learn the language, linguistics, and culture associated with the language. Some classes might seem a bit repetitive, but he wants you to "own it." He has a lot of office hours and is very flexible if you need to talk to him at another time. Sometimes he sets up dinners where students can join him so as to practice conversing in the language and he even teaches you new vocabulary. The workload ca might get a bit stressful when you have to due audio/video translations, but it's very good practice. I am glad that he taught this course because it makes me really want to continue taking it.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1401/1402 - He is very nice! Super helpful but goes kind of fast so you have to be on top of your assignments, so do the homework every single day! Every class is really crucial but he's so willing to make sure that each student learns the language instead of just making the grade in the class, he wants everyone to succeed, even if that means pushing back quizzes and tests so you know the material. Wonderful teacher, he has a passion for teaching Arabic, very interesting.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1401 - Ustaadh Saadi is the nicest man. He cares so much for his students and really wants them to learn Arabic and succeed in it. If you are having a problem, just talk to him in his office, and he will do his best to accommodate you and help you understand. He is a very fair teacher, although the workload is tough, but that is to be expected from a first year language course. I loved this class and the language, and talking to him about any issues helps a lot!   - Grade In Class:A
