Comments:1350 - The goat, THE GOAT. Mr. Lapes cares deeply about every student's well being, academics, relationship with God, etc. It can be difficult to view Excel as a necessary software. However, Mr. Lapes teaches at a perfect pace that doesn't create boredom, but instead it creates interest in the software. - Grade In Class:A
Comments:1350 - One of my favorite professors. I constantly email him with questions, and he responds fairly quickly. There are textbook projects every class, but he does them with you. There is also about one homework assignment a week which takes about 30 min to an hour and a half (normal for this course). He is always willing to help, so take advantage of office hours! - Grade In Class:A
Comments:BUS 1305 - I love Mr. Lapes! Take him for 1305!! He goes over everything in class, so if you follow along in class you will succeed. His homework is so helpful! Homework is very similar to the simulation on the test and the book reading suggestions on the review go along with short answer. There is a semester-long project and an oral presentation, but these ultimately help your grade and career as one will be something to present to interviewers. I highly suggest taking him! - Grade In Class:A
Comments:MIS 1305 - Mr. Lapes is one of the best professors on Baylor campus! He is extremely personable, kind, helpful and does everything he can to help his students succeed. This class is very applicable for business in general or jobs/internships. We had homework assignments through SAM/Cengage learning, a few major class projects, and three exams with one cumulative final. Everything followed the text books exactly. Although the books are not necessary to learn the material, I found them very helpful as his class lectures follow them. Also, there were always extra practice materials on SAM as well as Excel/Access files on Blackboard for review. The tests had two parts: one multiple choice and one set of tasks to be completed on the computer. I had trouble with the class at first, as Excel and Access are difficult to learn. Mr. Lapes, however, went above and beyond to help me, and I ended up doing very well in the class. He is amazing, and he even holds a football record at MIT where he went to college, which is pretty cool :) Take him if you want a great MIS experience!! - Grade In Class:A
Comments:MIS 1305 - Mr. Lapes is one of the most understanding and helpful professors I have met at Baylor. He will go out of his way to help you, all you have to do is ask. He is very friendly and knows a ton about computers. He is over qualified to teach MIS. His class is not a blow off by any means, you have to put in the work, but you can do will. His tests are difficult and gave me trouble, but that doesn't mean they were an unfair test of my knowledge in the course. - Grade In Class:C+
