Comments:2304 - I went into this class with a distaste for accounting merely based on my financial accounting experience. However, Professor Edison helped to change that. She is so engaging and made class easy to pay attention in. I was able to understand concepts due to her profound teaching ability. She uses applicable examples and talks through everything multiple times in order for students to understand what is important. I like how she spoke, but also gave us problems to do with our partner in which she would walk around the room and help students. Exams are easy if you do her practice problems. This was probably one of my favorite classes at Baylor, because I learned so much and Professor Edison is so great!  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:3303 - AIS was terrible, but Mrs. Edison makes it FANTASTIC. I would take her for every class if I could. She cares about her students and she truly tries to make sure everyone is successful in a class that is just not that fun to teach or take! EDISON IS FANTASTIC  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:2304 - I mean, this class is pretty challenging in general. Dr Edison is a nice lady though, and she will do her best to help you. She tries to keep the class very engaged, which can be hard if you're taking her at 8 am. On the tests there are some confusing word problems but as the year progressed I got used to it.  - Grade In Class:B+

Comments:2304 - I actually really enjoyed her class. I came into college not looking at finance or accounting and she actually helped me realize that I was capable of it and switched my major. If you are able to give the time to this class you can get an A. She will not trick you, all questions on tests come from lectures and homework. That being said you need to know how to solve it and it takes practice and studying. She is a fantastic woman who cares about her students!  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:ACC 3303 - No. Please no. This woman is horrible. Picks favorites and if you aren’t one of them then good luck, because she will be awfully mean. I received great grades on every exam, including the final (easy), and then she made me join a Zoom call with her in which she belittled me and constantly accused me of cheating because my “environment check wasn’t good enough” (keep in mind, this was basically my first time using Lockdown Browser, and she also replayed my environment check on the Zoom to me and it looked fine). She is unkind and a bully. This class is a worthless joke and I learned WAY more about AIS in my internship this past summer. She is the WORST accounting professor at Baylor. I took two courses with Betsy Willis and she was way kinder than this witch. Every new accounting major I speak to I recommend completely against her course. Take a different professor. This woman doesn’t deserve Baylor employment.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:ACC 3303 - Mrs. Edison is the best AIS professor you could have. She is always available for help, her lectures are entertaining, and overall she is always available to help. She can be a little intimidating at first, but her personality grew on me. She ended up being my favorite accounting professor so far. This class is graded on a points system, but it really ends up being in your favor. The tests are multiple choice and free response. There is also one excel exam, but you will be ready for it when the time comes for it. To make an A in this course, you really need to be diligent in reading the text. It will be your best friend. This is the one class where taking notes on the text is necessary to succeed. All of the HW assignments and quizzes serve a purpose. They are extra practice for the exam. Therefore, be thorough in understanding the content on your own.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:2304 - The class itself is not too difficult, but Mrs. Edison is not there to help her students. If you go into office hours, she gets frustrated whenever you don't understand every topic even though office hours are meant for people who do not understand the material. The tests require a good amount of studying as they have free-response questions, so you actually need to know what you are doing. I took this class all online, and it was very tough to focus on her videos. Overall, I would definitely recommend another teacher over Edison, but it is manageable if you have to take her.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:2304 - If there is another professor with a higher rating take the other professor. I didn't dislike Edison but her video lectures were so annoying. There was a squeaking sound in half the videos and it made it difficult to pay attention to the material. The HW was manageable however if you email her don't expect her to actually help you. She will just say to read the instructions. She seems very kind when you meet her but she doesn't actually seem to help her students. The tests were manageable too if you redid the note packets and went to SI. Some of the test questions were MC and some were fill in the blank. There were 4 tests and a cumulative final. She drops 3 homework grades so it is easy to get a 100 for the hw average. Good luck!  - Grade In Class:B+

Comments:ACC 2304 - Professor Edison's online course was the biggest stressor in my life all semester. She is less than helpful and the online format of her class was awful. When you reach out to her on zoom, she is rude and does not help you answer your questions.  - Grade In Class:B

Comments:3303 - Do not get me wrong, Cari Edison is one of greatest people you will ever have as your professor. This being said, it was her first semester teaching AIS and the class was a disaster. We did not know what we were doing half the time and it was extremely difficult because we would ask her questions and she wouldn't know the answer to them. Take someone else.  - Grade In Class:B

Comments:Managerial - Mrs. Edison is a no nonsense nurturer. She doesn't accommodate people who don't put in work. She's got a little bit of a tell-it-like-it-is sense of humor, but she has a heart of gold. She loves the absolute crap out of her students. She's very serious about her faith, but not in a dogmatic kind of way. She helps students realize how important accounting really is in the business world. Her workload is very manageable, and if you are struggling, she provides an extensive amount of resources (tons of office hours and two TA's). Overall, I would say I've had an amazing experience.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:2304 - You know I've never done a rating for a professor before but I think Mrs. Edison deserves all the glory. She is truly a special individual. She cares so much about the students both regarding success in class and outside of class. Mrs. Edison takes the time to get to know students on a more personal level displaying her compassion and faith that she has in each student. She makes the course enjoyable by all means. I went into this course terrified that I would be weeded out but she helped me and my peers each step of the way by thoroughly explaining content, always making herself available to further explain homework and assignments during office hours and just taking the time to invest in each student. There aren't many professors I've come across that embody so many amazing things. This class wasn't difficult, mainly because Mrs. Edison teaches so well and doesn't mind postponing a new lesson in order to make sure everyone understands a certain topic. Tests are straightforward as long as you do the homework and you can go check it before you turn it in with her during office hours. It's an easy class, if you put in the effort. If you ever get the opportunity to take her class, you won't regret it, I promise. It's been a few years since I took this course, but Mrs. Edison was one of the few reasons I got to where I'm at now, she believes in each student even when they do not believe in themselves. Take her if you can!!!! She's a blessing.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:Managerial Accounting - Loved Professor Edison. Do the work, go into her office hours to check your homework and you will do good. She is great at teaching and the course itself is demanding but she does a good job at making class enjoyable. My final grade actually ended up helping me and pulled my C up to a B. Take her, she rocks.  - Grade In Class:B+

Comments:ACC 2304 - Managerial Accounting with Edison was well worth it. Professor Edison was really good at getting students to understand the material. There were 4 exams and a cumulative departmental final. Homework was average, but never too much. As long as you understand the notes and practice question, you'll do just fine in her class. Paying attention in class could really solidify the material, but it was unlucky for me that I was unable to attend all classes. If you struggled with financial accounting and want to get through managerial with only a few scratches, it's worth waiting to take Edison.  - Grade In Class:B+

Comments:Managerial - Great professor! She does a great job explaining and is very patient with students. I gave her a 4/5 for availability just because her office is always packed and it can be hard to find time with her. But that being said, she has an SI and a grad student and they are both helpful as well! I don't like accounting, but she made it very manageable (pun intended haha)  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:Managerial - Dr. Edison genuinely cares about her students and there well being. She explains the material very well and makes sure every student understands it. She makes it an effort to get to know you even if you don't go to office hours. Great professor.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:2301 - I loved this course and Mrs. Edison's style of teaching. She makes every topic applicable to every day life. My suggestion to prospectives students is to keep up with the homework and to never miss a day of class. Because the class is three days a week you will be tempted to skip but this will cause you to really fall behind in the work and miss listening to important information. I watched students all around me fail because of absences. The tests and homework were not a piece of cake and caused you to have to think and focus but the work load was very manageable. I was able to achieve high A's on every test because of reworking practice problems, this would be my biggest tip for an A. (I'm terrible at math, but like she will mention, you don't have to like or be good at math to be successful in the course).  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:ACC - She's the best. Not too hard, but make sure you study.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:2304 - Managerial - GREAT teacher! Take her if you have a chance to or you'll regret it! She sets you up for success - all you have to do is show up to class. Tests weren't hard at all and theres a cumulative final. She tells you exactly what's on every test. Plus, she is just an awesome person! She would always play Baylor Football hype videos in class before big games and showed us tons of pictures of her precious kids. Mrs. Edison is the best!!  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:ACC 2304 - Mrs. Edison is an amazing professor and an amazing person. She explains things clearly and makes accounting interesting...and this is coming from someone who hated financial. She is always available and willing to help students. The homework load is light but don't let that fool you on the tests; you must prepare for them and the homework is usually not enough. Mrs. Edison gave us a lot of life advice and you could tell she really cares and wants her students to succeed. If you do your part, she'll more than do hers. If her class is closed I highly recommend waiting another semester to get her!  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:2304 - Mrs. Edison is really a fantastic professor - I'd highly recommend taking her for Accounting! She hasn't been teaching for very long, but she really knows how to explain material clearly and effectively. ACC 2304 has four tests throughout the semester, which are multiple choice and work-out problems, and a cumulative, departmental final. She also gives a fair amount of HW, but the problems aren't too difficult, and they really help you get a better grasp on the concepts. On top of being a great teacher, Mrs. Edison is just a wonderful person - she really cares about her students as people and wants them to succeed. I loved being in her class, even though I'm not a huge fan of Accounting!  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:2304 - Mrs. Edison is definitely the best professor I have ever had at Baylor! Her class is so well organized and it is so obvious that she knows what she is talking about in class. Her office hours are at a great time, and she is so friendly if you go into her office and talk to her. Also, you can check all of your homework during office hours so it is possible to get a perfect grade on all of your homework. Her tests are kind of hard, but if you study the notes she gives you, you can make an A. I looked forward to coming to this class every MWF because I just loved learning from Mrs. Edison. She is always showing the class pictures of her adorable kids and sharing stories about her family, and there is not a doubt in my mind that she really truly does want the best for all of her students. I wish I could take her again for another class!  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:2304 - Took for managerial. She gives you everything you need to succeed. She's clear and to the point, assigns homework that is from the lesson (but not too much work), has a great SI, and is always available. If you do a little work each week, make sure you take notes in class, you'll do fine! Just always do the homework. She drops a few HW grades, but if you do all of them, your average for the homeworks can be over 100 - built in extra credit!!  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:ACC 2304 - I looked forward to this class every MWF and I will miss having such a fun, cheerful, and enthusiastic teacher. She really loves accounting and is very passionate about teaching. This class always seemed like it flew by, and thats because it's actually fun. The teacher cracks jokes in class and really relates to the students. She wants each and every one of her students to succeed. She always has a smile on her face and makes class enjoyable and fun. Her tests are very long and always took me the whole class period to do. I always rushed through them and sometimes didn't finish them. This is a challenging course and you need to make sure you don't get behind and if you do, to get help. You definitely can't wait til the night before to study for the tests. Se will call on you sometimes so you have to make sure you are prepared for class. Most of the homeworks are easy, although she assigned a big project on Excel in the middle of the semester and it was challenging. It's a challenging course, but the teacher is incredible. I wish I could have her for a class in the future.   - Grade In Class:C+
