Comments:2301 - Dr. Eckroth is an incredible professor! I\'m not an English person at all, but I really enjoyed her class. Rather than being a professor that says a story is one way because they say so, Eckroth always backed-up her opinions with textual/historical evidence. She encourages her students to do the same. She really knows what she is talking about. She’s sarcastic and funny. She seems intimidating at first, but she’s actually very helpful and enjoys her subject. A lot of the students complained about the amount of reading to do each night, but we\\\'re in college so that should be expected. (Also, we were a T/R class. Meaning we had the same amount of pages for two days, as a MWF class would have.) Her class consists of daily quizzes that also count as your attendance. At the beginning of the semester, everyone picks a date to do their Performative Reading. PR consist of memorizing a minimum of 84 words from a piece within the reading, giving the five-question quiz in class, and leading the class in discussion with discussion questions you\\\'ve prepared. It sounds more difficult than it is, but it is an easy \\\"A.\\\" Plus, the student presenting is allowed to email the rest of the class as to what poem to focus on for the quiz. She also assigned us five different papers, which were all easy \\\"A\\\'s\\\" as well. She is basically looking for strong thesis and topic sentences. For the final, she had a class discussion, in which we were given nine quotes from various passages we had read in class. We were to connect all of the nine quotes with a broad theme. Everyone was required to speak twice and give textual evidence to back-up their assertions. Overall, I thought Eckroth was a very fair teacher and I would recommend her to anyone. :) - Grade In Class:A
