*A 5 star workload is an easy workload; a 3 star is average; whereas a 1 star workload is extremely hard.
Comments:ECO2306 - He knows how to make a really easy class really hard. Lectures and slideshows aren't very helpful, but talking to him during office hours helped a lot. Workload was pretty light, but exams are in person so it definitely takes a lot of studying to do well in this class. I would definitely recommend taking someone else, but if you have to take him, watch a lot of youtube videos. - Grade In Class:C
Comments:2306 - DO NOT TAKE!!!!! I did not pay attention in any class and had to watch YouTube and teach myself. he is boring and nothing relates to exam. Great Guy tho - Grade In Class:A
Comments:2306 - He is an extremely nice guy who is obviously extremely knowledgable about the subject, but he's almost TOO smart to teach this class. He overcomplicates almost everything that he teaches and doesn't spend much time on the more complicated aspects of the course. I felt like I had to teach myself everything, and the actual lectures are painfully boring. He tries to make things more fun, and I'll give him credit for that, but I don't feel like I learn anything from those activities. Dr. Aimone is a great guy, but not a great professor. I would avoid taking him. - Grade In Class:A
Comments:ECO2306 - you end up feeling bad for him because aimonee really is what it means to be a dad, very much dad jokes and a new tie for every occasion. its just so hard to follow when he teaches because he is so BORINGGG, he spends too much time over topics that are plain common sense and goes way too fast over topics that are harder to understand. he claims that the only way to study for the tests are just to go thorugh the slides again, but idk about you but that isnt very helpful for me. so it was just hard to ever feel prepared for tests when im out here aiming at a dart board blindfolded. if you can maybe go for another prof but if you are forced to take him it wont be the end of the world, the textbook is really well formated and i was able to find it online without paying so you wont immedately sink, you just have to put more effort in a class that just sucks... gradings: applicaitions 5%, homework 20%, exams (3) 15%, final 30% - Grade In Class:B
Comments:ECO 2306 - He is nice, but I wouldn't take his class again. The class is super boring, and I feel like I have to teach myself everything right before our exams. I'm sure he's not the worst micro professor, but this class is fairly challenging. There isn't any extra credit offered either. - Grade In Class:B
Comments:2306 - He’s knowledgeable and friendly, but his teaching style could be clearer. The homework is manageable—scoring 60% or higher earns a full score in the grade book, which can really help boost your grade if you complete it. Each week, you’ll need to listen to a podcast, create a one-slide PowerPoint on it, and sometimes present. He randomly calls on students from a bag of names at the start of class, which can be nerve-wracking but isn’t too serious. Studying for his exams is challenging, as there’s not a solid way to prepare. He provides a practice exam for the first test to help you understand the format, but doesn’t offer one for the other exams, which can be frustrating. Exams are all over the place, like I said not a clear way to study, he said to study questions he didn't ask on the homework but could ask...yah it's not great. - Grade In Class:B+
Comments:4314 - Dr. Aimone is a pretty nice guy - although this is an Economics class, there is no math or studying to be done. We read a lot of academic papers and he'd do lectures on particular interests in Behavioral Economics research, which were usually games (Prisoner's Dilemma). The tests were all Blue Book, and covered general knowledge you picked up from the course. His HW was also completion which was nice for a change. If you don't like reading, you won't like this class. If you don't like talking, you won't like this class either because we discussed every week and I'm pretty sure Dr. Aimone keeps good track of who is actively involved in discussions. Overall, very neat class and I feel like it improved my academic reading comprehension a ton! - Grade In Class:A
Comments:2306 - Professor Aimone is a nice guy. But his teaching does not align with the homework or tests. He goes over the slides pretty fast, and he does not let us use electronics. I youtubed my way through this class and barely made it. There's no extra credit. 3 tests and a final. The last test is cumulative just like the final. There is homework due everyweek and a Podcast assignment due. I wish he would have gone through the slides more in-depth. The only way you could do good is reach out for office hours. - Grade In Class:C
Comments:ECO 2306 - Guys pretty boring. Imagine Dwight from the office but depressed and not that funny. Everyday is just him ready over slides in the most boring way possible. He will also skip over important slides really fast, but he does not allow electronics so you can't check them yourself. You will have to look back over the slides after class which defeats the purpose of even going to class. Finally, the homework and tests have nothing to do with each other lmao - Grade In Class:A
Comments:1305 - He is a very nice professor but for some reason there’s a big disconnect between his homework and lectures and exams. For every test I had teach myself because what he was lecturing on the PowerPoint were confusing and convoluted and I never understood it. - Grade In Class:B
Comments:Econ 1305 - He's a really nice guy and makes the content interesting but there is definitely a disconnect between lectures and homework / tests. - Grade In Class:B+
Comments:ECO 1305 - I honestly don't understand why the reviews are so low. Dr. Aimone is a very nice and genuine man who is willing to help. Economics is a hard subject, and it does take work to understand. The only suggestion I would have for Dr. Aimone is that he would have us do more practice problems in class and teach us actually how to apply the concepts in the lectures to the problems we get for homework and the tests. He gives you either a homework assignment to do which has practice problems you can study for the upcoming tests or a podcast assignment where you listen to an economics podcast and write a brief PowerPoint on. But the powerpoint presentations are randomly selected each time, but I was never selected to go. But what I really love about Dr. Aimone is that he always is trying to get the class to work together and encourages students to get together in study groups. He is always willing to help if you ask him. I bombed my first test, but after I met with him to discuss it, I ended up understanding what went wrong a lot better and I ended up getting an A on the next test. The homework assignments are the things that save your grade. He drops the lowest one and also the lowest test, so it's good that he includes that. I'd say ECO 1305 is not a blow-off requirement class, it should be taken seriously, but Dr. Aimone is a solid teacher for it as long as you try in the class. - Grade In Class:B+
Comments:2306 - Aimone isn’t a bad professor but micro is a hard subject. I got Aimone on one of the off years he taught principles of micro (usually he teaches upper level). He does his best to help everyone understand but micro is hard even if you have taken an economics class before. I took AP macro in high school so the first four chapters were pretty much a review for me but after that it got difficult. His lectures weren’t the easiest to pay attention to (it is an economics class after all) but they were bearable. He also throws you a bone with the homeworks. He encourages you to work in groups to do the online homework and if you get a 60 or above, you receive a score of 100. If you score below a 60, you get a score of 0. Beyond that, the only other grades are “weekly podcasts” and tests. While listening to podcasts was an assignment we only did it the first three weeks and never again. There are three tests and a final. The last test and the final are both cumulative. My biggest complaint of the class was that an a was a 94. This is pretty high for econ and most teachers will make an a 92 or 93. After working my butt off, I barely scraped by with an a, and that's with background knowledge of the topic. Aimone isn’t the worst option but also not the best so just beware of what you are getting yourself into. - Grade In Class:A
Comments:A - He’s alright. Look at textbook - Grade In Class:A
Comments:Behavioral Econ - What a mess of a class. No syllabus, no structure, haphazardly assigned homework, and no preparation for tests. I felt utterly clueless the entire class and somehow still got an A. Aimone's a nice guy but he very clearly wants to be in the lab researching, not teaching powerpoint slides. He'll go on and on about the studies he's working on, will make you get certified for labs you'll never participate in, and will honestly just leave you bored and frustrated almost every class. If you don't care about structure and just want an easy grade, sure you can skate by in this class. Also this leans HEAVILY on experimental/science topics. You'll be reading journal articles nonstop and pretending to understand them. - Grade In Class:A
Comments:1305 - Possibly the most boring, monotone professor I have had at Baylor. His teaching style doesn't seem to translate well with the class based on how many people actually pay attention. Lectures are just straight from the slides, with some added graphs he draws in his terrible handwriting. The class is not ridiculously hard, it's just his lectures that I can't stand. There are weekly homework assignments ranging from 20-30 questions and a weekly application assignment where you find a news article online about something we talked about in the last class. He picks two people randomly and you just talk about them for a minute or so. Tests are multiple choice with some T/F, and the SI is helpful since I find it hard to learn the material in class. Not a business major, so I can't compare him to other Econ profs, but wouldn't recommend him if you have better options. - Grade In Class:B+
Comments:1305 - Dr. Aimone is just your average professor. His in class lectures can be a bit dull. I highly recommend going to the SI as the homeworks touch on things not covered in class. The tests are all multiple choice and he tends to give a curve. - Grade In Class:B
Comments:Eco 2306 - I never write ratings so this is how serious I am about this teacher. Aimone has taught me the most from this class than any other teacher at Baylor has taught me about a class. He truly loves teaching and he is hilarious in class, and not in a goofy professor sort of way. You do have to really read the book but it honestly makes the tests a breeze, which there are only two tests before the final. I liked this because I am a time-conserving person and I liked only studying for two tests, and the homework is incredibly easy and if you make above a 60 on each one you get a 100 grade which helps your overall grade seeing as homework is worth 20%. I highly reccomend taking him. - Grade In Class:A
Comments:Micro 2306 - Not a bad class if you already have a background in economics. Homework problems are similar to the tests and are easy grades. Aimone clearly knows economics but tends to get off track and can make the subject harder than it is when you ask questions in class. He is much better during his office hours. Make sure to read the book before class (his notes are sometimes unclear). Probably doesn't help that his handwriting is rather sloppy and he has an odd way to communicate while in class. Review the homework problems as the three tests in the class follow the same basic structure. - Grade In Class:A
Comments:Micro - So Mr. Aimone might be the most awkward person you will ever encounter at Baylor, however with that being said he did a great job at teaching the necessary information. You can tell he is a genius on the subject because he will start to ramble on and on and everyone in the class will be just staring in confusion. He will always ask if everyone understands and wait to move on until everyone gets it. So don't be afraid to speak up if you're ever. His lectures were sometimes very boring, but he always tries to mix it up a bit and make class more interactive. ANother downside I saw was that his handwriting was very sloppy so everything he wrote on the board was a bit jumbled. His HW load is not bad at all compared to other teachers. At most it is one assignment every week (alongside a current event printout). The answers for these asignments are all online and you only need to get 60% of them right to get a 100. He wont really keep you up to date on when the assignments are due so always be on the lookout for when the next assignment is due. If Aimone is available I would suggest taking him. - Grade In Class:A
Comments:ECO 2306 - Jason aimone is about the best Econ teacher you can get. He's a little disorganized, but he's great at making the class applicable and he gives good real world examples. The homework is easy and you can do it as far in advance as you want and the tests are just like the homework. Pretty good for an Econ class - Grade In Class:A
Comments:Econ2306 - Decent professor, tries to make sure everyone understands a concept before moving on to a new one. STUDY FOR HIS MIDTERMS! He only has 2 and a final. Each midterm is worth 20% of your grade and the final is worth 30%. Homework is worth 20% and quizzes are worth 10%. Offers a extra credit assignment at the end of the year that's worth up to 3 points added to your final average. Go see him during office hours or after class if you don't understand something he's somewhat helpful. Professor Aimone is a really nice guy and he likes his espresso. - Grade In Class:A
Comments:mico - if you like orginzation in your class then this is not the place for you. He does most of his lectures by drawing graphs on the board and his handwritting is terrible so it gets really hard to read. economics is a boring subject already but you need to pay attention in his class otherwize yo will miss something important. he also has homework through blackboard but does not always say in class when the homework has been assigned or when it is due so you need to always be watching blackboard for that. - Grade In Class:B
Comments:Micro - Micro is a tough subject so no teacher will be an easy A or a definite recommendation etc..but Dr. Aimone is a pretty good one to take..he really wanted everyone to understand the material..offered many examples and different ways to look at/think about things...he gave lots of extra credit..even a few times for no real reason...I had a c+-b- ish, didn\\\'t do amazing on the final, but with all the extra credit and what im assuming was a grade bump at the end of the semester, I ended up with an A..best part about him...he is like way overly fair with grading..he tells you upfront there will be a course curve..if you get an 84..you get a b+, 87 is an A etc...with everything he offers, its hard to do real bad in his class. - Grade In Class:A
Comments:2306 - If you're the type of person that likes structure, this class is not for you. That being said, I definitely recommend Dr. Aimone for a few reasons. He gives occasional HW, easy daily quizzes, but ONLY 2 TESTS. The thing about Dr. Aimone is he is extremely fair with grading...maybe even overly fair. If you get an 87 or higher in his class, he will give you an A. If you get an 84-87, he will give you a B+ etc. He will do experiments in class and give bonus points on test if everyone participates. He offered extra credit worth 6 TOTAL POINTS on your final grade. If you are willing to do some tough work outside of class..it is hard not to get an A or B. If you want to learn the material...Aimone may not be the best, but if you need it for your degree and want to keep your gpa intact...he\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'s a good one to take. - Grade In Class:A
