Comments:1350 - Professor Lapes is the BEST teacher for 1350. All business majors will have to take 1350 so definitely take it with Lapes. He makes excel super easy to learn and he goes over the assignment with the class. Don’t get discouraged if you don’t get things right away, there is definitely a learning curve with excel. - Grade In Class:A
Comments:1350 - Lapes is the best excel teacher. Take him!!! He is extremely helpful and understanding. Only got a B because of pledging but he let me retake an exam up to a 70 because I failed it. Lapes is the goat - Grade In Class:B
Comments:BUS 1350 - This class was slightly difficult for me because I don’t have any experience in Excel. However, Professor Lapes was EXTREMELY patient and kind to me when I needed help. If you get the chance, TAKE HIS CLASS!! He made a significant impact on my first semester at Baylor and is just such an light on campus. - Grade In Class:B+
Comments:BUS1305 - Take Lapes if you want an A! Very patient and helpful during office hours, tests are easy and replaces your lowest exam with your final grades if it actually help you improve a letter grade! - Grade In Class:A
Comments:1305 - Lapes is awesome!!!! He is by far my most favorite professor at Baylor to date. Super genuine guy and really wants you to succeed. We got to know each other pretty well because I struggled so much, but he never seemed annoyed and really wanted me to succeed in the course. The material is difficult in itself, but he really goes the extra mile for his students. - Grade In Class:A
Comments:BUS 1305 - Professor Lapes is an amazing professor. The reason I got a B is just because the material was not easy for me. I know a lot of people in my class have high a's but some things come easier to others. Professor Lapes is genuinely the nicest professor. He will pray for you and he really cares about his students. Do the homework!!! It is not hard it just takes some time but your grade will reflect it if you don't. Take Lapes and you won't regret it!!!! - Grade In Class:B
Comments:BUS 1305 - Mr. Lapes is so genuinely compassionate and truly cares about each of his students! The course material is boring/dry, but he truly tries his best to make class more entertaining and is always open for suggestions. If you can't make it to his posted office hours, e-mail him and he'll happily make himself available. In addition, if you ever have any questions whatsoever, he loves to help and wants you make sure you really understand things! I never went to office hours, but I heard nothing but good things from everyone else in my class. Homework is very manageable and if you get a really bad grade on a project, more often than not he will let you have another attempt if you go to office hours. The tests aren't bad at all, I studied a bit for the first two and got A's, blew off the third one and got a B. Final is exactly what you'd expect and he gives you a study guide for each test - look at those and you should be good! The only complaint I have is that *apparently* he e-mailed someone in the class and exempted them from the final because they had a high A, but he didn't make that an opportunity for others with the same grade. I'm not 100% sure if that is true, and if it is, his intentions are still good. Take him - he's seriously the best! - Grade In Class:A
Comments:BUS(used to be MIS) 1305 - Lapes it the goat! Take him if you can! Cares about your success in and out of the classroom. If you need to meet with him outside of office hours, email him or simply stop by as he is in his office often. Wrote me a letter of recommendation for an internship I got. Can't say enough about how good Lapes is. As far as the class, there's a far amount of homework, but you get unlimited attempts on homeworks and 2 attempts on projects. The HW is great practice for exams. The exams are easy if you study. Made a 97 on the first 2 so didn't worry about the 3rd one and still made a B. Again, take Lapes if you can!!! - Grade In Class:A
Comments:1305 - Professor Lapes is one of the kindest, most caring professors you could ever take at Baylor. If you have the gift of taking his class or if you don't, you should. He cares so much about you actually learning the material and is ALWAYS available to help. The class is difficult in and of itself, but Lapes makes it manageable and really cares about his students personal lives. Take Lapes, you won't regret it. I'm now a junior and I took this my Freshman year, and every time I see Lapes in the business school he still remembers my name and says hello with a smile on his face. - Grade In Class:B+
Comments:1305 - Mr. Lapes is one of my all time favorite professors. He is so knowledgeable about MIS and genuinely cares for his students. I came to him one day extremely stressed out and frustrated about a grade on one of his tests (it wasn't that bad) and he sat with me, prayed with me, and then explained how to do the problem I missed, with a day that I could come back and retake that portion of the test. Definitely one of my favorite classes, because of him. If you get the gift of having Mr. Lapes, you'll get a great teacher and learn so much about MIS. - Grade In Class:B+
Comments:1305 - Mr. Lapes in one of the nicest men I've ever had the pleasure of meeting. And not only that, he's very knowledgeable and a great teacher as well. Just make sure you go thoroughly go through the study guides a few days before the exams and do the online homework/projects, and you'll do fine! - Grade In Class:A
Comments:1305 - One of the nicest professors at Baylor! Genuinely cared for all his students and was always willing to help in whatever way he could. MIS as a class sucks in general, but if you have to take the class, take Lapes! - Grade In Class:B
Comments:1305 - Professor Lapes is one of the nicest professors I've ever met. He is very helpful when you need it and let's you make up anything when you're absent. He wants to see you learn and do well in this class. You learn a lot about excel and access (not what the actual MIS major is...) and it can sometimes be boring but it's not difficult to get a good grade as long as you do the assignments and study. You can use notes on quizzes sometimes and are given everything you need to know listed for the tests. My favorite professor so far at Baylor! - Grade In Class:A
