*A 5 star workload is an easy workload; a 3 star is average; whereas a 1 star workload is extremely hard.
Comments:WC 4 - Dr. Hibbs is a gem. She is very educated on American history. During small group lectures she will walk through all the readings thoroughly; always wanting the classes input! She offers plenty of extra credit, which is what helped my grade in the end. Wish I had taken her for more cultures classes. - Grade In Class:A
Comments:Social World I, WC IV - Stacy is one of my favorite professors at Baylor. She so truly cares about students and wants to see students succeed. Social World with her is absolutely incredible because she is an Aristotle scholar. Her class is very predictable, we would always break into small groups then come back together to discuss the readings in chunks. She teaches to BIC tests, which is helpful. I honestly loved her so much. - Grade In Class:A
Comments:WC I - Dr. Hibbs was a great professor. Class discussions seemed to pass by quickly, and she usually had a quick summary of our reading already prepared as our outline for the class. As a person, she was extremely nice- she allowed a student to take her crashed laptop to get fixed during class and asked if I needed to go home to rest because I was so sick. She showed she cared and was highly encouraging when she saw we were stressed. She will not "grade easy" but is reasonable. I would take her again if I get the chance! - Grade In Class:A
Comments:WC1 - Dr.Hibbs is one of the most intelligent person i'v ever met she knows her stuff and she is great to talk to about any questions you have about anything related to the coarse, however she does not put much energy in teaching the material but she makes it up in her knowledge of it, and lets be honest we are here to learn not to be entertained by our professors. If you have a chance to take please do so she is great. - Grade In Class:B+
Comments:Social World I - Dr. Hibbs is a very good professor. She is super knowledgeable about everything in this course and passionate about the material. SWI is the only course for which I had Dr. Hibbs, so I can't speak for WCI, IV, or SWII, but I would definitely recommend her for this course. I didn't do so hot on the first essay and thought she was a difficult grader, but she is clear in her criticism and was able to follow her advice and do really well on the next one. So, she is a tough grader, but is completely rational in the grades she gives out. Her quizzes are somewhat more difficult than other profs because she does short answer, but this should not be a reason to take someone else. If anything, this just helps you understand the material better and makes you better prepared for the test. Dr. Hibbs is really personable and funny, so she is a delight to have as a professor in general. - Grade In Class:A
Comments:1314 - Dr. Hibbs is okay for world cultures, but has very little enthusiasm and seems much more interested in talking about philosophers that we didn't actually cover in the course. She is pretty knowledgeable, but not very friendly or enthusiastic. Not someone to avoid, but not one you really want to sign up for, either. - Grade In Class:A
Comments:BIC Cultures I - I love this woman to death. She loves her classic philosophers. She was a great first cultures professor, and I'm taking her for every other BIC class she teaches. She's always been extremely nice, and she generally grades pretty fairly. She won't hand you an A, but if she can tell you're actually working and care about the class you should be fine. - Grade In Class:A
Comments:WC4 - Dr. Hibbs is a not a US specialist, and it was apparent all semester long. She didn't lead our small group with much enthusiasm or interest in the material. Like many BICers, I get excited about our readings and come to class looking forward to discussion, but that didn't last in Dr. Hibbs's small group. She only seems to get excited about her own work, which might work in WC1, but did not make for a great end to the cultures part of my BIC experience. Her grading seemed fair and workload was standard across all the small groups, as usual. Avoid her and get someone who focuses on America and can get enthusiastic about the readings. - Grade In Class:A
