Comments:1350 - She just made this class so much harder than it had to be. All of the hw is doing the actual Excel work, but the tests are on paper and have little to do w the hw. Boring lectures as well.  - Grade In Class:B+

Date: 2023-12-05

Comments:1350 - While she is definitely a bit harder than some other 1350 professors, I PROMISE that you will learn the material so much better than with any other professor. She moves quickly, but is always available for help. Her exams are a bit challenging, but if you pay attention and follow along completely, you will get by just fine. If you want to learn excel the best you can and are not just focused on getting a good grade, absolutely take her. After never touching excel in my life, I am extremely comfortable with my knowledge now and I'm sure it will carry over into the business world. The bad reviews are very likely from people who are unwilling to put in any extra effort.  - Grade In Class:B+

Comments:1350 - Her class consists of two computer graded homework assignments per week that are very easy and one ungraded simulation assignment. She pulls questions from the ungraded simulation assignments and puts them on the exams. She has two exams plus a final which are worth 60% of your grade, and the remaining 40% are pretty much free 100s if you do the homework. During class, she will give you test questions verbatim so make sure you take notes! All of her exams are straight from the lecture, and she reposts all of her lectures online! She has office hours just about every day so make sure you go to them because she will help you!  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1350 - Don’t you dare do it. You will regret it. Their are much better options. Your GPA will thank me later  - Grade In Class:DROP

Comments:BUS 1350 - I got a B- in the class because I didn't care to re-attempt some of the homework. The homework assignments are super easy, but they just take some time to finish. The professor is great at teaching but sometimes showed frustration towards the class for not answering within 2 seconds...  - Grade In Class:B

Date: 2022-07-09

Comments:BUS 1350 - Professor Leskoven is extremely nice and will help you when you ask. The class for me was pretty easy because the homework is self-explanatory and it allows you to have two attempts incase you screw up on the first one. The tests are pretty basic, very similar to the homework. The exams consist of multiple choice questions that are a little difficult but with enough studying you should be good.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:BUS 1350 - I think this class was pretty easy. For the homework you had two attempts so you could fix what you got wrong. The tests weren't hard but they were over conceptual aspects of her lectures so in class I would take notes on the computer. This made it easier to study because they were like 20% actual excel and 80% conceptual. Overall did fine there's probably better options but if you have to take her it won't kill your gpa.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:BUS 1350 - I really loved Professor Leskoven! I recommended her to all my friends, she taught excel super well, and everything she tested on was in her lectures. I HIGHLY recommend taking notes in this class. Unless you want to redo everything before the exams, it would be very difficult to remember everything without notes, which really saved me on tests and studying time!  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:BUS 1350 - I love Professor Leskoven as a person. She is genuinely a kind-hearted woman and very intelligent -- especially when it comes to Excel. She always answered my questions through email. My only issue with this class were the exams. They felt nearly impossible to prepare for and were quite difficult. If this is a required course for you, I recommend taking Leskoven, but BE PREPARED for her exams. They were never something I could just lightly study for and do well on.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1305 - Prof Leskoven is a very difficult professor in my opinion. She flies through lessons and very rarely repeats herself even if people ask her to. When asked questions she is very condescending honestly and doesn’t really make sure that you actually grasp her answer before moving on. Her class consists of online homework (the trainings are very east because it has a help button, but the other assignments are not necessarily like things we learned in class), two tests (which are EXTREMELY difficult to study for because she isn’t very helpful and there honestly isn’t much you’re able to study, you just have to know it), and the final. I felt that she didn’t care much about our education, but about her reputation instead. I would recommend taking another professor, especially if you don’t have much experience with the material.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2020-05-15

Comments:1305 - DO NOT TAKE her 1305 class if you can avoid it. Her class is much harder than any other 1305 professor. The work load is much more and the test are way more difficult than any other professor.  - Grade In Class:DROP

Date: 2020-05-13

Comments:1305 - Leskoven gets a bad rap. Is she the easiest 1305 teacher? No. While you get an A? Maybe, maybe not, but she will make you learn excel. Her tests average in the high 70s. She normally curves her tests because of the lower distribution. It is definitely possible to get an A, but it will easier with other teachers.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2020-05-12

Comments:1305 - Professor Leskoven is a really good professor in my opinion. Is the class harder than a lot of 1305 classes? Yes, I won't sugar coat that. But if you put a bit of effort into the class, there is no reason why you can't succeed. The tests had a computer portion and a written portion. The written portion mostly contains information from the class examples, so make sure to go back and practice those. She also tells you while lecturing when a concept will be on the exam, so make sure you pay attention! The computer portion is just the simulations from the homework. Professor Leskoven is also really helpful in her office hours and she wants you to succeed. If you're having trouble early on, go to office hours and get help ASAP! The class is a lot of work but if you're diligent and willing to put in the effort you should be just fine.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:BUS 1305 - Leskoven is one of my favorite Professors! She is very kind and willing to help students! Her class is a little hard but don't be intimidated, just stay on top of the computer homework and read the textbook. Reading the textbook before coming to class is one of the keys to a successful semester.. class time is very limited and she teaches at a rapid pace so knowing the information ahead of time makes class less stressful. Her class examples are very helpful, and she posts her lectures online- be sure to re-watch lectures that were confusing- similar simulations will probably be on the test. The tests are partly computer simulation (that's why the trainings are helpful test prep) and a multiple choice section. Because of this, make sure you not only know how to do the task on the computer, but that you also understand it conceptually. Overall, Leskoven is an AMAZING professor. I really enjoyed her class, she gives real-life examples that makes the context informative and applicable. She always was extremely prepared for each lecture and executed the class time flawlessly. I never felt she wasted my time. Make sure to arrive at least five minutes before class starts as she expects you to have logged in downloaded the start files before class start. Take Leskoven!!!!  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1305 - My grade would be an A+ if not for the written tests. I don't know why a computer class has written tests.  - Grade In Class:B+

Date: 2019-12-05

Comments:1305 - Mrs. Leskoven is a kind person but her 1305 class is insanely difficult compared to all the other 1305 teachers. I went to her office hours and she told me her class is not designed to receive an A. Her tests are insanely hard and I dropped the class.  - Grade In Class:DROP

Comments:1305 - I had Ms. Leksoven during a very difficult semester and she honestly was so much help. I did struggle in this course because while the homework assignments and the projects are easy but the tests were almost impossible. I talked to numerous people in my course as well and this was not just my opinion, they are generally two parts. An online simulation and a paper portion and the paper portion was the challenge. Lots of other professors do not include a paper section so if you can avoid it I would recommend it but if you do have Ms. Leskoven don't worry about it too much because she really is a big help and will do everything she can to help you.  - Grade In Class:C

Comments:1305 - Dr. Leskoven is a nice professor, but I would not recommend taking her due to her ridiculous test. We learn the material on the computer, we practice the material on the computer, the trainings and projects are on the computer, yet the test are on paper which makes no sense. Part of the test is on the computer which is an easy A, but it is such a small portion of your test grade that even if you get a 100 on it, you can still easily fail the exam. I received almost a perfect score on the MOS exam which is what the class is really preparing you for, yet I did not make an A in the class due to her exams. You will learn a lot in this class, so take her if you want to learn how to get better at using Microsoft Excel/Access, but you will be sacrificing your GPA.  - Grade In Class:B+

Date: 2019-05-21

Comments:1305 - She's a really awesome professor that cares for her students and wants the best for them. With that being said though, the departmental tests are the stupidest things on this planet. The application part that you do on the computer is super easy and an easy 100, but the multiple choice part after that is like 75% of the grade is ridiculous. I shouldn't get a 100 on the application then nearly fail the test because the wording on the questions is hard to understand since after all, we're learning how to use the programs, not how to answer questions about the programs. Other than that though, I have no complaints against her. She is pretty chill and walks you through every single step in class. She does move fairly fast so you have to keep up, but she's pretty awesome!  - Grade In Class:B+

Date: 2019-05-12

Comments:BUS 1305 - I made a B because I got C's on all 3 tests, but I didn't give much effort and I rarely paid attention in class. That being said, Professor Leskoven is a great professor! It's really evident that she cares about her students. This definitely isn't the easiest 1305 class, but I encourage you to take her if you want to learn Excel through and through. I even walked away with a Microsoft Office Specialist in Excel certification that I can put on my resume!  - Grade In Class:B

Comments:BUS 1305 - Mrs. Leskoven is so kind! She is very knowledgeable in Microsoft Excel and truly wants her students to understand the material. There is very little homework and it is all completed online. She also structured the class so that we had the opportunity to receive our official Microsoft Office Excel certification!!  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1305 - Professor Leskoven did an amazing job teaching some not so easy concepts in this class! She cares about each and every one of her students, and has multiple times for her office hours. I struggled in this class at first, but she helped me so much along the way! She moves very quickly, so don’t miss lots of classes, though.  - Grade In Class:B

Comments:1305 - Leskoven is a great professor overall. She really wants you to learn the material and retain use of Excel and Access. As long as you do the assignments which are pretty time consuming you will do fine. Her tests are very difficult however. I averaged a 70 on her tests and her final I made a 88. If you want to make an A expect to work hard but the class is for sure worth it and I would recommend her to anyone.  - Grade In Class:B

Date: 2018-05-13

Comments:1305 - Alright, a lot of people don't like leskoven because the class "is harder than it's supposed to be." If you pay attention in class and study hard, you'll be fine. She really knows her stuff and is passionate about the handiness of Excel. Her door is always open. I'm planning on majoring in MIS so I appreciated the rigor of the course because I feel more prepared for all business classes.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:MIS 1305 - Dr. Leskoven was great. Truthfully if you go to office hours and pay somewhat attention in class, you will be fine. You have a decent workload (it's all doable), no quizzes, and 3 tests. She uploads all lectures to canvas which is beneficial to go back. You will need the book, actually it is very beneficial because all the answers to the simulations are in there. You can do this, you just have to make her your friend and actually try. I put in minimal effort and still pulled it out. Others don't really like her but that is because they did not talk to her face to face and start a professional relationship. Also she drops a test so I did not have to take the final. Good luck!  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:BUS1305 - Leskoven was the sweetest professor I had all semester, but she moves at the actual speed of lighting during class. If you blink, you miss something. If you breathe, you miss something. If you literally stare at the projector, you'll probably miss something. I did so poorly in that class because once you get behind even a little, it is hard to catch back up. She is great at helping if you come to her office hours and she sees that you are genuinely trying though. Pretty tough exams and the homework assignments once or twice a week. Pro tip: every step to every single pearson assignment is in the textbook so if you think you will never need it, youre wrong. It works wonders for your homework grades once the assignments start getting difficult.  - Grade In Class:C

Date: 2018-05-01

Comments:1305 - Leskoven is a great teacher. There are definitely easier options when it comes to 1305 but even if the class isn't too easy she is still a great teacher.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2018-04-11

Comments:1305 - Frankly, I'm not an MIS person. The lectures were very boring and the class is quite hard to study for considering we don't actually take notes. She is such a nice person and I like her a lot in that regard, however the class was difficult. The tests could be difficult and it is hard to remember information, again, because we don't take notes! It is a class that you just have to get out of the way and hope you do decent.  - Grade In Class:B+

Comments:MIS 1305 - I like Professor LesKoven! She is very good at teaching Excel! I will learn a lot from this class if you have a good professor like Professor LesKoven. You can always go to her office hour if you need help, and she will always be there in the office hour. She is very nice and patient, and she never gets mad in class. The homework assignments help you learn the material more than her lecture. There is about one homework assignment each week and she will give you a plenty of time to finish the homework assignment. She genuinely cares about her students and makes sure the class does well on the exams. There are four tests in total, not including the final exam. You should consider taking her class if you are looking for a good professor who can teach you something in MIS 1305.  - Grade In Class:B

Date: 2017-11-14

Comments:1305 - The way the class is formatted you have little to no homework other then the easy projects online and Labs if you miss class... As long as you attend class and listen in class you should do good. Although when it comes to her tests they are very very difficult and you have to study for very long periods of time with no expectation on how the test will be formatted (which she changes everytime) so prepared to do nothing for about 2 weeks and then have to study extremely hard for her tests to make by in the class.  - Grade In Class:C

Comments:MIS1305 - Love Dr. Leskoven and this class!! There is virtually no homework. (3 assignments total all semester. They each take about an hour, but you are given 2 weeks to do each one)All labs are done in class. So, you're guaranteed a 100 average for those grades. That just leaves the tests. They are on tests, but that is actually easier than the other computer tests because you only get 1 chance on each problem. (This is bad because there are multiple ways to do the same things in Excel, but if you do the wrong way, you miss it.) (easy example: pressing control V or right click and paste is different then finding paste in the ribbon at the top.) My roommate takes computer tests in her class and does not like it. As long as you study all of the powerpoints really well(which she posts online)and practice the labs, you should do fine on the tests. And she usually adds bonus points.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2016-11-25

Comments:1305 - Let me preface that this review is not supposed to be negative and I am not bitter for the grade I got in the class. I was grateful I passed. First of all Leskoven is very sweet woman who clearly knows this information. Labs are done together in class, so if you come to class and pay attention it is an automatic 100. This is good because her test are HARD. All of the tests are written, so you really have to know what you are doing into order to take the information you learned on the computer and apply it to a written test. The best way way to study is to rework all the labs and review the power points. She is a fast grader so you will know your score the next day of class. She has a lot of office hours, so go in to review labs and tests. She doesn't let you keep the test or write down what you miss, but talking through it with her is helpful. If you go to class and rework pretty much everything you will be fine.  - Grade In Class:C+

Comments:1305 - Wonderful professor, she truly knows what she is talking about, and makes it easy to understand. She is a great person to be around, and makes a relativity boring subject quite interesting. Extremely fair grader, very open about the content of her tests, she is not here to trick you, just provide a good foundation for a business career. She is invested into the lives of her students, she kept up with my application process with a internship that I was pursuing. All around great person and teacher, easy A and you will learn a lot. With allot of teachers you either learn allot or make a A, and with Leskoven you get both.   - Grade In Class:A
