Comments:ACC 2304 - Prof. Beard is extremely nice and she teahces the class very well. The homework takes almost no time and having guided notes is very nice. Her exams aren't very difficult if you pay attention in class and do the supplemental material. She's always in her office although there are usually a ton of people in there she loves to help and explain things. Her only downside is sometimes she'll explain a problem to the class that took me and everyone I know like 2 minutes and she'll spend 20 minutes talking about it which I'm sure is helpful for some but it does get old. However, you won't find a better prof for this class definetely take her!  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:ACC 2304 - Awesome teacher. She’s a great communicator and really wants her students to understand things conceptually. She uses really detailed note packets to make sure students are following along and always carves out time so students can work through examples on their own. She also provides tons of supplemental examples in the packets that aren’t required, but are super helpful when it comes to preparing for tests. Office hours and SI are very helpful if you need extra help, but office hours can often be very packed just due to the difficulty of the class and the nature of the class size. As for the structure of the class, there is usually always homework, mostly through the online WIleyPLUS textbook, but sometimes it’s required to be written down and submitted via Canvas. Tests are pretty frequent, as there are 4 throughout the semester plus the final. They are definitely doable, as they usually average around an 80, but are fully multiple choice which is nice. For grading, the 4 exams are 16% each and the final is worth 20%, with homework and other things making up the other 16%. Overall, I couldn’t recommend her enough and think she does a great job teaching this class.  - Grade In Class:A

Do not slack off on the homework because there is a lot. However, some of it is a completion grade. Comments:ACC 2304 - Genuinely the sweetest professor I've had at Baylor. I am horrible at accounting and she was beyond helpful and the only reason I past her class was because of her. She always comes in with a smile on her face and was ready to teach. She has pre-made notes that you print out before class that are super helpful when studying for the exam. All test were multiple choice with around 25 questions. The homework gets a little tedious but it all is super helpful when preparing for exams.  - Grade In Class:C+

She is an amazing, Christian professor who really understands what she's teaching and cares about her students. Comments:ACC 2304 - I loved professor Beard she was nice and helpful, my favorite part of her class is when she would show pictures of her kids and go off topic. But was very straightforward with just enough homework to make sure we understood everything. She explained material well and was very helpful and friendly, I just wish her tests were a little longer because they were only about 25 questions so missing more than two put you out of range of an A. To do good in the class I recommend reoding all the problems in the packets and make sure you understand the concepts, it's really not that difficult if you put the work in. Comments:2304 - One of the most difficult classes at Baylor University for Business Students. I received an A- in Financial Accounting with Don Carpenter. I would recommend taking this course via a community college. It was Mrs. Beard's first time teaching a lecture hall class and it was very difficult for her in many instances. I did not learn well in her class and adopt correctly to her teaching style. The exams are extremely difficult and the work in class is a much simpler version to what is seen on the exams.  - Grade In Class:F

Comments:2304 - Professor Beard is incredibly gifted at her job. She is really good at keeping students engaged and makes the class very enjoyable! She is also very very kind. I was literally awful at financial accounting and have really excelled in managerial due to her incredible teaching abilities. She offers a lot of different supplemental material to help you be prepared for exams outside of the homework assignments. There were M/W homework assignments on WileyPlus, and occasional written homework problems. There were 4 exams and then the final! I recommend Professor Beard 100% if you are able to get her, she is the best!  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:Intermediate I - Professor Beard is literally the best teacher in the accounting core. If you can get her for intermediate one, you are putting yourself WAY ahead of the other students because she is so incredible at her job. Intermediate one is an extreme step up from the intro accounting classes, but Beard never makes you feel overwhelmed. My only complaint was that I had literally the smartest people in the core in our class because everyone fights to take her, but she was always comforting in office hours (even when I would shed a few tears). She is the literal GEM of the accounting department and perfectly helps students transition into full-fledged accounting majors! I will always cherish the time I had as her student!  - Grade In Class:B

There's a couple of online homeworks due every week, with the occasional written homework. Tests were pretty fair as far as what material was on them. Comments:ACC 2304 - Prof. Beard is the best managerial accounting professor you can get, hands down. She has print outs of the notes to follow along to, loads of extra practice that is super helpful for the tests and the homework while time consuming some nights is not bad at all. The tests are not that difficult if you do the supplemental material and pay attention in class. She also incentivizes attendance in that if you dont miss you get +1 point to your final grade. She is super kind and sweet and very willing to talk after class about things that may confuse you or even questions you may have about accounting or anything in general. Comments:ACC 2304 - Coming out of financial accounting with Becky Jones, I was so nervous. What makes Mrs. Beard so awesome is her organization. I have never has a professor so diligent with homework reminders, with being ready for class and prepped, and making sure we were all on board as well before every class. She played inspirational videos, brought us donuts, and had cake once for the womens national championship. She is a Baylor grad herself, a former basketball player here, and a Chi O- so its so easy to relate to her. There are 4 tests with a cumulative final. 62% exams, 22% final, 4% Class Prep, 12% average homework. The exams are a good knowledge of the material, so it is important that you go to SI and study. Always 25 MC questions without essays. The homework is not hard when you start to understand the material and listen in class. If you get behind, go to SI. She also offers to much extra credit and gives so many supplemental materials to help you practice for the exam. On the first day of class, which broke the ice for me, she said that in the grand scheme of life and within our faith this class did not matter, but at Baylor it did and we would still learn. It was nice to have a professor that related to me on that level and wasn't ashamed of using her faith to empower and equip students. Best professor I have ever been taught by hands down. I finished with a 98.  - Grade In Class:A

She is one of the most understanding professors there is, especially when it comes to your personal life. Comments:ACC 2301 - She's awesome- probably one of my favorite professors that I've had while here at Baylor. Accounting can be kind of boring sometimes but that's not her fault. She gives out a ton of extra credit and has a bunch of other policies that can really help you out. For example, she will let use your notes while you take the exams but your final grade will be capped at a B. This policy was really helpful for those who don't really care about their grade and are just hoping to pass. She also made the final exam optional. She is really a nice person and you will have a hard time finding a professor (let alone an accounting prof) that is better than her.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:2304 - Professor Beard is so great!! She is so articulate in explaining concepts and is also a visual learner, which is great if you're like me and need to see it to understand it. The workload isn't too much... there are online homework problems (which she always makes sure to give hints if they're super complicated) and occasionally a problem or two from the book. She also assigns reading and "Class Preps" which is just a short assignment over the reading. Compared to financial, this class was a breeze, and I had a good professor for financial. There are four tests and a cumulative final. I've found it helpful to have a hard-copy of the book (sometimes the formatting is better than online) but I'm sure the online works fine too. Honestly, the reading is helpful, but she explains everything so well, you won't be lost if you don't read. One of my favorite professors at Baylor, and also one of the few classes that I felt like I was learning AND wasn't teaching myself a lot of the material. 10/10 recommend!!  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:Managerial - Beard is a stud. Sometimes I felt like she was too cool to be teaching me accounting. Her class is not an easy A, but if you follow along with her notes in class and ask for help when you dont understand, you should #SecureTheBag pretty easily. However, I put 4 stars by teaching ability because she teachers so fast to cover all the material and its easy to fall behind. The material is not like financial accounting at all, so most people excel in this class who were not good at financial. The tests are around 25 MC questions, and if you do her review and try to make the SI review then you will be prepared for all the questions. Make sure to do the supplemental work between classes, because she will check your packet and give you extra credit on the tests if you did it.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:ACC 2304 (Managerial) - If you can get into her class, I HIGHLY recommend Professor Beard. She is an absolutely amazing professor! She is very kind and always willing to help out her students. Her course is a lot of fun and she does an amazing job incorporating "real world" examples and scenarios to aid in your understanding. She's very good about explaining things from multiple view points as well. The work load isn't terrible, but you will have to read and put in some time outside of class. Professor Beard is always more than happy to answer any questions that you may have, both in class and during office hours. All in all, she is a GREAT professor and I definitely recommend taking her class.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:2304 - She is one of the best professors that I have had at Baylor. I was very weary about her class, because I did not do well at all in Financial Accounting, but she eased all of my fears. She explains everything very well and in detail, and even though there is homework for almost every class it is useful and can be helpful when studying for tests. Professor Beard also does well at making sure her students are prepared for the final which is usually departmental. I had failed my financial accounting final, but I got an A on my managerial accounting final and I attribute it to her teaching. She is very genuine and wants to get to know her students so do not be afraid to talk to her or to visit her office hours if you need help.  - Grade In Class:A

Her tests are fair, and somewhat difficult but manageable with sufficient studying. HW is a little annoying with how rigidly structured Wiley Plus wants your answers to be, but you get many attempts and its a minor grade. Multiple Extra Credit opportunities. With the way she grades, if you get an 88 in the class you will get an A-, anything above 90 is an A. That's a really nice bonus too.  - Grade In Class:A

She does teach really fast but if you are confused she is always open to questions and has office hours available multiple times a day. There is a lot of work to do in this class but there is no way around that, it is just a heavy class. The tests are hard but if you study, go to class and office hours you will be fine. There are plenty of opportunities in class to earn extra points so make sure you sit next to someone smart (they are team activities).  - Grade In Class:C+

Comments:ACC 2304 - What can I say. Mrs. Beard is one of the greatest human beings on this planet and the best teacher possible for managerial. She is super relatable and funny. Regarding the class, the material isn't that hard to begin with and she makes it really easy. The tests aren't bad if you study- I did the night before each exam and always made As. Homework is all online, a couple written, and one project- but its not hard and you get multiple tries. She gives loads of extra credit. Basically the class is really easy and Mrs. Beard is the icing on the cake.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:ACC 2304 - At first, I was a little intimidated by Beard because she’s kind of tall but she’s really nice and friendly and really wants you to do well. Your grade is comprised of class prep (short little exercises she has you do before you come to class based off the reading), homework (mostly online but there are a few written homework problems), four tests, and the final. The tests are pretty straightforward and she prepares you very well. If you do bad on a test, the grade you get on the final can replace it. Accounting isn’t the most intuitive or easiest subject but Beard is really helpful and accommodating and really tries to make sure everyone understands the material. She also does a March Madness bracket challenge for five extra points on an exam so that’s pretty awesome. We even had class outside one day. Beard really is an awesome teacher so if there’s a spot open in her class, jump on it.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:2304 - Haylee Beard is the best teacher I've ever had and probably ever will have at Baylor. She's so friendly and fun but also gets down to business and doesn't waste class time. She over-explains things to absolutely make sure everyone understands because she genuinely wants you to do well. She shares the cutest pictures and stories of her daughter which always brightened my day. Her class is extremely well structured. I always knew what to expect and what was expected of me. There's homework on most days, but they're usually really short and simple and are graded based on completion. Tests are very straightforward and everyone would always do well on them since she would tell us the class average was like an 86 or 90 or something ridiculous. If you take her in the fall, she gets super hyped on Fridays for football and she'll offer extra test points to whoever can guess the score of Baylor games. Honestly I wish she could teach all of my classes.  - Grade In Class:A

She had her baby this semester so she had to take a couple weeks off and have her mom take over for a little bit (her mom was the worst teacher ever, bombed that exam) but she came back just as good. Each test is worth 15% (there are 4), homework is worth a lot too so do all of it (easy A, its completion based), nobody understands how her class prep grade works (5%) and then the final. If you keep up with studying then this class will not be difficult, accounting major or not.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:2304 - She's awesome. This is her first semester teaching so she'd always ask us how she's doing. She's really young, pretty understanding of students that have a hard time with the material because she graduated not too long ago. VERY pregnant right now so she always has cute videos and pictures to show us in class. About the course: Course load varied depending on the week and what the topics were. 4 tests and a departmental final. I bombed most tests and missed the last one due to illness. WileyPlus homework is terrible. Written homework is an automatic 100. I have to retake so I'll be retaking with her.  - Grade In Class:D

She tries to make it fun, although it is accounting after all...She worked through a lot of examples in class and she got w/the SI leader so we would have even more practice. I walked out of the final feeling pretty confident :)She was really helpful each time we prepared for the tests...she even had extra office hours in case we had last minute questions. 4 Exams (15% each), Final (20%), Hwk--easy (15%), class prep--fill in the blank exercises from like a 5 minute reading(5%). She is about 8 months pregnant right now, so she probably going to show you a ton of pictures of her new baby. She gives you the notes before class that you just have to follow along in class. There is online homework, which is taken for a grade, and written homework that is an automatic 100. The homework is extremely easy and never took me more that 10 minutes. There is 4 tests and the final, and the test are pretty easy. I studied the night before and got A's.
