Comments:1350 Heritage - Easy class overall. Tests are ace-able if you study the powerpoints and lecture notes. Professor Moon is very nice and almost too generous when people show up late to class by not counting them tardy. He is respectful and a relaxed professor not creating any stress towards his students. Take him!!  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:Heritage - Dr. Moon was a really nice and often times very funny guy. He tries really hard to make a normally very boring class fun but often times it is still hard to sit through. The grade is largely effected by attendance which can suck if you are someone who likes to skip class often. His accent is really thick so it can be hard to understand him or of him to articulate certain things but he tries his hardest. The tests are each only 40 points and all the questions come completely off the powerpoints he posts online so if you wanted then you could just never pay attention in class and only review the powerpoints before the tests (like I did). Overall, I would recommend you take Moon. He is a really great professor.  - Grade In Class:B+

Comments:Heritage - This is a class designed for uncritical people. That is more Baylor's fault than Dr. Moon's, but that's the reality of it. The impression I got is that Baylor gives heritage teachers the outline of what they want covered in the class. Most teachers take this outline and turn it into slides and actual lessons. Dr. Moon, as far as I can tell, copies that outline into slides. If you take this class, prepare for nothing but bullet point slides and random pictures of turkish landscapes or buildings. The bullet pointed fragments that are the lecture materials are all you need for this class. The lecture doesn't matter and consists almost exclusively of him reading the bullet points one by one for forty minutes and then asking one or two questions that are neither particularly engaging nor thought-provoking. On the first test, I studied like I always do, aiming for on-the-spot recall and genuine retention, not trashy point recognition like a freaking middle-schooler. I know how to study...I hold the Baylor all-time record on the standardized ACS Organic Chemistry Exam and am graduating summa cum laude this week. This first test (in which I used real study methods) was my lowest grade (93). His tests are the laziest, most worthless exam style I have ever seen. His content is all in bullet point lists, right? So what he does for over half the questions (I counted on every test...) is take a few bullet points from the person/event of his choice and then insert one that is NOT associated with that person. The questions format is then "which of these is NOT associated with _____?" It is a lazy testing method that favors people with surface-level recognition and requires/promotes zero critical thought or genuine insight. After realizing that his testing method is this trashy, I adapted my study method for tests 2, 3, and 4. Instead of aiming for recall and understanding like usual, I made flash cards reflective of the bullet point lists and spent two hours building up the point recognition ability that every other REAL class had trained me out of. I got 97.5 and 100 on the next two tests with this method. And the final is non-cumulative so it doesn't matter that I didn't retain any of it. It's a worthless class no matter who you take, so it doesn't matter, but if you are at college to learn how to study or think critically, take no lessons from what brings success in this class.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:REL 1350 - This class is definitely not an easy A. The pro's of taking this course is the predictability of it. There is a quiz every week which is based on the reading, and the tests are solely based on the PowerPoints that he lectures during class. In order to score 100% on the quizzes, you need to read the text thoroughly and pay attention to the details. It's hard to do because the textbook he chose is so dry and boring! The tests do get harder as the semester goes, so in order to get an A you need to master the slides. I felt as if he encouraged us to memorize instead of actually learn the material. His lectures are boring and dry. I kind of wish I took someone else but he's a nice person.  - Grade In Class:B

Comments:Heritage - He is a very nice guy. His classes were a bit dry, unless you're really into it. I wasn't. I'm sure that he doesn't require much work, but if you don't put any in, you will not do well.  - Grade In Class:C

Comments:REL 1310 - Professor is very nice and patient, and he is very helpful so that I can improve my grade in the final.  - Grade In Class:B

Comments:1310 - Professor Moon is adorably awkward. He’s a really smart guy and knows how to read/speak/write Hebrew and he can name hundreds of dates of different milestones in the Bible. He tries to make the class as easy as possible and he tells you that. He changed our reading quizzes from being random pop quizzes to being every Tuesday. He says he’s going to drop the lowest quiz grade but he drops the lowest two. Some days he will stop us while we’re taking a quiz or a test and he asks us which ones are hard and then give us the answers to them. On one of our tests he gave us an extra 3 points just cause he “felt like it.” You should do well in this class. If you don’t, it’s your own fault for being lazy. I started studying for the tests the day before (2 hours of studying) and got a 100 and a 94 on them. The final isn’t cumulative! Hallelujah! He also offers super easy extra credit which adds 2 points to your OVERALL GRADE. He posts the powerpoint slides on canvas, so if you don’t write down everything during class you can add to your notes later. If you do your readings and write down everything from the slides, this class should be a breeze. Highly recommend taking Professor Moon. He’s adorable and his class isn’t very difficult. Just do the readings and make sure you know the powerpoint slides for the tests. I know that Scriptures tends to be a nightmare for most people, but Moon is AMAZING!!  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1350 - Y'all, Sung Ho Moon is amazing! His rating should be in the 90's for sure. His English is not as bad as everyone says and his class is actually super easy if you do the hw. His quizzes are straight from the homework and he gives answers to the quizzes while you're taking them as well. The tests require a lot of studying but he gives you a study guide and if you study it well you will ace the test. He's by far my favorite teacher this semester because he is very nice and truly cares about his students. I wish all teachers were like Mr. Moon.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1350 - His english isn't bad at all - perhaps it has improved, but it has never gotten in the way of understanding what he says. He is very humble about it and willingly accepts a helpful word suggestion if he gets stuck, which is not very often. His tests are multiple choice with the occasional short answer. Quizzes are very easy and based off of the readings. Tests are slightly harder but also very straightforward and based off his power points; I have never been caught off guard by a question. While his presentation could perhaps be more lively, he is simple and direct and if you pay attention it is easy to do well. He responds very quickly to emails and is very respectful and kindhearted. He loves the material and lights up when you participate in class. I chose an 8am because he was teaching it and took 1310 from him the semester before (also an A).  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1310 - Professor Moon is incredibly sweet. His class isn't difficult at all. Although his lectures are boring, if you read the assigned readings before class, then it is easy to be engaged in his lectures. His tests are all based on the PowerPoints during class-- if you pay attention, take notes, and review the notes a little bit before the tests then you'll do well. He has weekly quizzes which are not that difficult; you just have to put in the effort to read. He gives extra credit which boosts your lowest test grade up 10%. His final was incredibly easy and he basically gave us study questions which were the exact questions on the test. He's probably by far the easiest and sweetest Christian Scriptures professor at Baylor. If you want an A and don't mind putting in the bare minimum of effort in order to do so, then I highly recommend this guy. You won't be disappointed!  - Grade In Class:B+

Comments:REL 1350 - While it is true that professor moon struggles with English, he isn't that hard to understand. His quizzes are tough but they don't count as much toward your grade and he drops the lowest ones. His tests are pretty easy if you study for them at all. He is a very nice man and will always be willing to help if you ask him. I would definitely recommend him.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:REL 1304 - While he can be hard to understand at first, it is easy to get past after a few classes. His tests are fair and the quizzes are easy if you just read the book and he will even help the class take the quiz sometimes. I would absolutely recommend taking him.  - Grade In Class:B

Comments:REL 1350 - This guy is an absolute sweetheart. He is kind, understanding, and has fairly easy tests. The people who complain about not being able to understand his accent are usually the frat guys sitting in the back of the class who talk nonstop while Dr. Moon is talking. I made one C, one B, and one A on his tests, and he always emails us with what will be on the quizzes and what to read in preparation. He is the nicest man in the religion department and cares about his students. It sucks how disrespectful people are to him because he is genuinely a nice man who gives us a good understanding of the content. Definitely would take him again.  - Grade In Class:B+

Comments:1310 - DO NOT take him. He speaks next to no English and you can't understand a word he says.  - Grade In Class:C+
