Comments:BIO 1306 - First, you need to know she does not have a docorate. Second if you want to take her class, I suggest you look through this to see whether you are fit for her class. 1. She did'nt have much lecture on her class, most of time used for group discussion and reading quiz. 2. Before attending this class, you have to look through all things in textbook and prepare for the reading quiz in class, and she will cover few things from her powerpint, I don't think her lecture is helpful for understanding the bio 2 things. BIo 2 has big differences with bio 1, I got a B+ in bio 1, A in chem 1 and 2 and A in calc 3, so I don't think I have study problem on myself. However, BIO 2 is a class which needs explanation, most the chapter are related to the ecology, and different teacher will give different order to cover it. As I mentioned, she didn't have much lecture on her class, which means you have to learn a big part by yourself without explanation. In class, you will change your seat to find your group and talk with them for 20-40 mins, the things discussed is from the article picked by other group. It is not related to your textbook and BIO 1306 thing, also she will give several projects like finish a poster or go to BSB to find some plants to calculate index things, that's all took your class time!!!Also, almost every class you will get a diucussion or reading quiz, which means, if you can't attend the class, you'll lose those credit not just attendence. For her exam, the exam is not easy compared to her class. The exam are detailed, it is about a lot of definition, theorey and bio statment, there always be lots of things to memorize. Like I said, bio 2 needs explanation to help you to memorize. But this class took too much time on project. Not all BIO 1306's class setting are same like this, so I highly suggest you look at other professor's rate to make a decision. She is a good person, but her class style is not fit for me absolutely. I almost never miss classes in other classes, but her class do make me miserable.  - Grade In Class:B

Comments:BIO 1306 - Ms. Mullins was a great professor to take for BIO 1306! She is overall a super kind person who took the time to learn all of our names. She pretty much reads straight off of her lecture slides, but is still a fairly interesting lecturer. There are plenty of opportunities for grade boosters as she gives many assignments outside of the exams, which can be annoying, but it takes some of the pressure off testing. 4 exams and a final, one of which can be dropped, so if you can earn an A in the class from the 4 exams, you don't need to take the final.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1305 - Ms. Mullins is a pretty average professor. Her lectures are her just reading off the powerpoint which is essentially copied and pasted from the textbook. Her homework assignments took me a long time and they weren't really helpful to prepare for the exam. Her exams are based entirely off the powerpoint and they were fair reflections of how well I grasped the material. I would take her again because if you take care to do well on the homework and review her powerpoints with time before an exam you'll be good.  - Grade In Class:B+

Comments:1305 - Professor Mullins is a great option for Bio 1. During class, she kinda just reads of the slides which are directly from the textbook but everything that is on the tests are on the powerpoints, which she posts on canvas. Online assignments are not super bad, but not super helpful. Study the power points and you'll do fine on the tests. She does not curve her tests (they're usually 50 questions) which is a bummer but she drops your two lowest homework grades. Doesn't really offer much extra credit. Overall she's a super sweet person and does actually care for her students! Highly recommend taking her!  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:BIO 1305 - Goes over powerpoints way too quickly in class, but she does post them online. Masteringbio isn't much help with understanding concepts but they don't take too long to do. Tests are fair, especially if you go to SI and get the practice test.  - Grade In Class:B

Comments:BIO 1305 - I loved this class with Mullins! She goes through the powerpoints very quickly, but they are very informational and helpful. She posts her slides after her lecture. The night before every class period at 7:00pm, there will be an assignment due on Mastering Biology. This is only when there is a new chapter being started. Normally she goes through a chapter a class period (I have a Tuesday Thursday class). The assignments can be pretty long, but if you read the chapter beforehand they aren't hard. Her tests are normally 50-60 questions all multiple choice. If you come to class, listen to the lectures, and read the text you'll have no problem in her class! She is very willing to help you with concepts you don't understand and has very flexible office hours.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1306 - Professor Mullins isn't the worst bio prof, but she definitely needs some work. Her tests are way harder than some others. Plus, she abbreviates what she puts on the slides and then doesn't explain the concepts she abbreviated. I did alright in that class, but if I were you, I'd pick another prof.  - Grade In Class:B

Comments:1306 - She is super nice and friendly. She tries to put everything she teaches in perspective to make it easier to understand. I don't mind her, but my biggest problem was that in the team taught class, she taught second and her tests were way harder than the previous profs. She uses really long questions that truly test your knowledge of the topic. Her tests are multiple choice, and usually longer (50-75 questions). She really likes to test over figures, like the kind in your book. She uses mastering bio and at the end it is worth as much as a test. You can earn up to 15 extra credit points on the mastering by doing or testing out of the adaptive follow ups. I wouldn't say don't take her, but if you do be prepared to put in the work.  - Grade In Class:B
