Comments:2321 - I had Professor Hur for SPA 2321 and she was super helpful. Her syllabus seemed very strict on things like attendance policies, participation, etc, but she is honestly pretty lenient with most things. She was super helpful in understanding the vocabulary as well as conjugations and the actual structure of the Spanish language. The only annoying thing about the class is there is a decent amount of studying since it is primarily vocabulary based, so keep that in mind. I would totally recommend Professor Hur! - Grade In Class:B
Comments:2310 - Let me start this review by saying that I like Profesora Hur. Her syllabus makes her seem very strict, but she's actually pretty laid back and she is a very sweet woman! Her class can seem a little tedious at times, because you don't really learn or do anything in class. Mostly everything is outside work, and sometimes you have to read stories and do activities that seem pointless and you don't learn anything from them. However, her class is as easy or hard as you make it. The tests could be pretty challenging -- she'll send out an email and tell you exactly what's on the exam (or "prueba" as she calls them), but she only sends it out the night before the exam for some reason... In preparation, you'll need to study everything from the chapters. This means lessons (like the tense or conjugation you're learning), but also vocabulary and the stories that are in the chapters. You'll always have to write a paragraph about a story you read -- I recommend writing sentences that are as simple as possible. Don't try to wow her with your sentences, because she is a very hard grader. Some good news is that she does offer extra credit more than once in the course. Overall, she is very kind and super funny, and I loved having her, but the class can be very difficult! Be prepared to study! - Grade In Class:B+
Comments:1401 - With previous knowledge of Spanish and knowing that Baylor's Spanish program is very difficult, I went into this semester with an open mind. I did do well in this class but it has nothing to do with the professor. She is Korean... Her knowledge of Spanish is exceptional but translating from English to Spanish is extremely difficult for her and many times she didn't know how to teach us the material. If I were to stay home and teach myself I would understand the material easier than when I listen to her try and teach it. She tries to help as much as she can but her office hours aren't very long and only a few days a week. Her instructions are often confusing or she changes them without saying. If you end up in her class, you get extra credit (which you will need) by doing an optional binder before exams, and going in 5 times to her office hours. Take advantage of it and good luck! - Grade In Class:A
