Comments:3350 - Developmental Psy - Dr. Clark is one of the best lecturers at Baylor. She makes her own powerpoints, comes up with creative ways to engage students and is super helpful! She was the only prof I had that still continued online lectures during the pandemic which was super helpful! She makes learning psychology easy and enjoyable - if you are a freshman needing advice for into I took that too and loved it so take Clark!  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1305 - psych 1305 is considered one of the hardest intro classes at Baylor. However, Dr. Clark made this class less of a stressful experience. She lectures well and her tests are very straightforward and most come from what he says in class. DO NOT BUY THE BOOK! Everything she tests you on is either what she says in class or what is on the slides. If you do your study guides, you are basically garunteed a B or higher on her tests. The study guides also help your grade a alot. I expected to struggle in this class, but Clark made it manageable. Put in the work and you will most likely earn a 80 or higher. Take her!!  - Grade In Class:B+

Comments:1305 - One of the best professors I've had, great at lecturing and what not, however her TESTS ARE HARD.  - Grade In Class:D

Comments:PSY 1305 - Didn't like her, but I've had way worse teachers.  - Grade In Class:B+

Comments:PSY 1305 - Dr. Clark was an amazing professor. Her tests are mostly application based questions, which for those who want to go into health professions, are much more practical than questions on vocabulary terms. This is certainly;y a college level psych class, not an easy A, but Clark is very passionate about psychology and it translates really well into the classroom.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:PSY 1305 - Dr. Clark is a very good professor. Her class can be a bit boring if you aren't a fan of lectures, but she does frequently give you prompts to discuss with the people around you. There's really no homework for this class. You have to take part in 4 psychology studies, 1 of which must be in-person, but these don't take very long at all. There are 4 exams and then a final for this class. The exams are 50 questions, all multiple choice, and she drops the lowest score. The final is 80 multiple choice questions. The questions involve a lot of reading at times, but as long as you know the material, you should be fine. Her tests are 100% from the lecture, so DO NOT buy the book. Some of my friends have gotten tripped up by studying the book and focusing on the wrong things.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1305 - Dr. Clark is amazing. Her class is entirely lecture-based, and her lectures are super engaging and interesting. It's just **very important** that you take detailed notes during the lecture (write down examples she gives in class, they usually show up on the test). If you take good notes and maybe make a quizlet to review, you'll be golden. There's no homework besides participating in 4 SONA studies, which you can literally get done in about 3 hours the first week of class. She's super nice and talks about her research a lot, which is pretty interesting. ALSO, you don't need to buy the book for this class. The people I know who read the chapters actually ended up doing worse because they focused on the wrong things.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1305 - I had professor clark as my INTRO to psych class, however, it did not feel so intro. she made the class way more difficult than it needed to be by making her tests extremely difficult. she loved to tricked you on exams and that was one of the things that the SI told us to look out for. the SI did the best she could to prepare us for the exams but they were so hard that the SI was not helpful at all almost. all of her tests are lecture based so theres literally no point of trying to read all of the chapters in the book. she doesn't really teach, instead it just felt like she was giving us a presentation on psychology. her powerpoint were useless as they were just pictures. its so hard to take notes in tat class because she talks wayyy too fast. if that sounds like the type of professor for you, then by all means take her. but if not, definitely do not take her.  - Grade In Class:C

Comments:1305 Intro - Clark is freaking amazing. She is so excited and intelligent and makes class super interesting. You have to do SONA but all intro classes make you do it. There are 4 exams and are heavily lecture based. As long as you take notes and remember the examples that she says in class you are going to do fine. The wording is a little weird on her exams but as long as you understand the concepts and are able to apply them she is amazing. She also gives extra credit for doing study guides, I didn't need to do it but it is only 1 point extra per guide and a bonus if you do all of them. overall shes awesome!  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:PSY 1305 - I took AP Psychology in high school, got an A, and got a 4 on the AP test. Since I did so well in AP Psych, I was expecting that this class would be one of my easier classes this semester, but I was wrong. Dr. Clark definitely tests only over her lectures and you have to go to class to be able to do well. I went to almost every class and if I had missed any more, I would have gotten a much lower grade. The way that she words her tests makes them overly difficult, and since the only grades in the class are the four tests (one is dropped) and the final you have to get very high grades to do well in the class. I studied for hours before every test and knew what I was talking about and still got 2 84's (one was dropped) and 2 86's. Since I did all the optional extra credit (4 study guides and the course evaluation), I ended up needing an 89 on the final to get an A-. Unless you are VERY good at psychology and a good test taker I do not recommend taking this class.  - Grade In Class:B+

Comments:1305 - Dr. Clark is by far one of the best teachers I've had this year. Her teaching methods cater to all students and attack almost all methods of learnings. She is no nonsense and will kill any misconceptions you have about psych. She also hates Freud and it's funny as hell to watch her roast him. Her class is super easy, especially if you have a background in AP Psych. She is easily one of my favorite teachers and I love her so much.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2017-11-08

Comments:intro psych - You can tell that Clark loves psychology. She is always excited in lecture and if you take notes and listen to everything she says you will most likely do well in the class. I usually skimmed the textbook but focused mainly on lecture notes. Her tests are very application based, not always straight-forward definition. For each exam there is an option to make a study guide for up to 4 extra points if you do them all. Overall, she is a good professor with a lot of interesting things to say!  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:PSY 1305 - Really good professor. Like most in the BSB, she thinks very analytically and it shows in her teaching style. Its an interesting course and she is a good professor. I prefer her over the team taught option because you have to learn a new teaching style and test style each unit. Take her! She is a very understanding professor!  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2017-07-20

Comments:1305 - I liked Dr.Clark. Her lectures were actually interesting so I never missed her class. If you pay attention and take notes you will be fine. Her class isn't a breeze but it is not hard. Her tests are very fair. I actually made an A- in this class. Your grade is made up of the tests and study guides she has you do. The study guides are actually very helpful. Her final was pretty difficult though. Overall, I recommend her.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2016-11-19

Comments:PSY 1305 - I didn't expect this class to be as hard as it is. The tests are 50 questions and multiple choice. She requires you to create a study guide for each test which can be time consuming, but easy points if you do them correctly. I bombed the first test because she words her questions difficultly and I did;t prepare enough. However, I did better on the other tests because I learned what she expected and how she words her questions. She drops your lowest test grade which is awesome. I recommend printing off her slideshows and write down all of the extra stuff she says because thats usually what is on the test. Also, definitely go to the SI sessions. I would take her if you're willing to put in quite a but of effort.  - Grade In Class:B

Date: 2016-11-17

Comments:1305 - Dr. Clark is a good professor to take if you would like to know lots about psychology. She gives you youtube videos and encourages class discussions to make class lively. The only problem with this method is that it is completely irrelevant to the tests that she gives. She will give you about half of the information that you need and expects the rest in the book. Granted, this is a science class and that is what is usually needed to get an A, but she presents class like you do not need the book and only the lecture.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2016-09-20

Comments:1305 - This class is harder than you think. She gives a couple of opportunities for extra credit and I reccommend that you do all of it because you'll need it. The best way to study would be to make your study guide as extensive as possible (dont copy anything cos she takes off points). use her powerpoint as a guide as what to read from the textbook cos you dont have to read it all.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2016-05-25

Comments:1305 - As you can see by the other reviews, Dr. Clark is one of those "You either love her or hate her" professors. Personally, I thought she was a great teacher and I really enjoyed the class, but some people thought she was annoying and hated the class (I'm honestly not sure why). Here's my take on it: You do have to try, but honestly this is an easy class. All I did was show up, take notes, occasionally read parts of the textbook, review a few hours the night before each test, and I made As on every test. Dr. Clark lectures very clearly and she does a good job at telling you exactly what is important/what to study. There were no surprises or tricks on the tests -- they are very straightforward. A few tips to future students: Take the study guides seriously because they will make or break your grade. Do the extra credit. Sign up for SONA studies early. Go to SI when you can (I went about 3 times and it was always helpful). Sit towards the front of class. Go to every class. If you put in the effort, it shouldn't be hard to make an A!  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2016-05-18

Comments:1305 - Dont take her unless you want to study a lot. I never read the book and then other classes took my time over psychology. It is passable. She talks to fast and doesn't give any good ways to study for the test. She isn't the worst but its the best. Not my favorite professor.  - Grade In Class:B

Date: 2016-05-11

Comments:1305 - DO NOT TAKE HER!!! she makes the class way harder than it should be and she talks way too fast during lecture for you to take descent notes. her final was ridiculous....it was 100 questions and they were so specific and confusing. i regret taking her.  - Grade In Class:B+

Date: 2016-05-07

Comments:1305 - Dr. Clark is a good professor, but this class is much harder than it needs to be. I studied very consistently for exams and still struggled. DO NOT GO TO OFFICE HOURS. She talks down on you and makes you feel stupid. Our SI leader told us that she thought her test scores were too high last semester and it made her mad so she made the course more difficult. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS. Take it online or with someone else, it is not worth it.   - Grade In Class:B+

Date: 2016-05-06

Comments:intro to psych - She makes this intro class harder than it needs to be. The SI told us that her averages were too high last semester so she made the class harder. The tests aren't bad, but she always throws in a couple trick questions. You have to show up to class because her powerpoints are not helpful. She is also not very helpful in her office hours. She asks for suggestions from the class then basically told us we were wrong and she would keep teaching the same way. I know people who won't go to her office hours anymore because of how condescending she is. Take this class online somewhere else.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2016-04-25

Comments:1305 - I made this account to specifically make a review about Dr. Clark. She is an awesome professor and has really great examples. I recommend taking her. HOWEVER: she is awful one-on-one. DO NOT GO TO HER OFFICE HOURS. She will make you feel as if you do not understand the material, and will talk down to you as a person. In class, she portrays herself as caring and sweet, and in that setting she is. BUT never criticize her, tell her she is wrong, or that she could improve on something, because she will make you feel like a worthless human being. That is all. BEWARE.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1305 - Dr. Clark is the BOMB.COM Her class is so easy.. It's easier than the AP Psych course I took in high school (which was very detailed). Dr. Clark barely touches the surface so her exams are very general... Exams are 40 questions each, questions are either really easy or difficult and thought provoking (usually only 5 out of the 40). I read the book for the first 3 exams but honestly you don't have to since she doesn't cover half of the material in the book/go into detail. Her tests are 100% LECTURE BASED. So, GO TO CLASS. I printed every single one of the presentations, took notes and made 87, 93, 93 (so far). She's super nice (but talks kind of fast so jot down as much as you can). I didn't go to SI because I didn't really find it that necessary. However, be super careful with the study guides! I learn with defintions so I made mine with textbook defintions and got a 70! She really wants you to make quizzes/tests as your study guides (and you will get a 100 if you do so) I currently have a 94 but my grade would be much higher if I didn'tblow the first two study guides... Speaking of grades she gives ALOT of extra credit. She curves exams if the average is low, points for course evals and SONA extra credit. If you're willing to go to class, and study about 2-3 hours before each exam, TAKE DR. CLARK!  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2016-04-16

Comments:1305 - Her class is definitely difficult for an intro class. her powerpoints are useless, so theres no point in listening, just read the book vocabulary. Her exams are about examples, and the examples she uses in class are confusing. She speeds through the material, so its hard to understand sometimes. I always had an A&P on the same day, but still got an A in the course. If I had to do this class again, I would've done team taught. She is not worth the stress for an intro class  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2016-04-13

Comments:intro - Take it online or somewhere else. Save your time. I actually study for these tests and I haven't gotten above a low B. Her powerpoints aren't helpful, so you have to show up to class. She told the SI that she didn't like how high the averages were last semester so she made the class harder. It's an intro class so it shouldn't be this bad. She's also pretty condescending if you ask her questions. Take it somewhere else  - Grade In Class:B+

Date: 2016-03-30

Comments:intro psych - Dr. Clark is a great professor and really passionate about psychology. I absolutely adore her-- she is the sweetest. No quizzes or homework. Just exams and test reviews turned in with each exam. I had A&P tests the same day as her exams so I studied literally for an hour before the tests and made As.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2016-02-23

Comments:1305 - Dr. Clark is a very good professor. She is passionate about her teaching and tries her best to make the information easily understandable. Her exams are multiple choice and come off of both the lecture and textbook. They are fairly easy and she is not tricky. The lowest exam grade is dropped. She offers extra credit by doing extra research participation. One thing that was tedious was her "Study Guide" requirement. Before each exam, each student has to turn in a study guide of the material. It took a lot of time to complete, but it was very helpful with learning the material. If you do the study guide well, you will ace her exams. This constitutes 20% of the grade in the class, so it is definitely a grade raiser. It's very easy to perform well in this class.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2016-01-12

Comments:1305 - Even though I did well in Dr. Clark's class, I did not like her as a teacher. She made the course way harder and much more work then it had to be. Wouldn't take her is possible.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2015-12-22

Comments:PSY 1305 - Dr. Clark may be one of the best professors at Baylor Univeristy. She is very engaged in the subject and does a really good job at making the class interactive. She is there for you and really cares that you do well. Her exams are based mostly on lecture and a bit on the book. I only read the first few chapters and I got an A in the class. I would recommend reading the book, but it's not necessary. Her exams are all MC and are not too difficult. They are mostly application. I would pay close attention in lecture and take careful notes. Study your notes and test review (which you need to make for each exam for a grade) and you should do fine. This class is not very hard, but even if it was, I would still take it because of how good of a professor Dr. Clark is.   - Grade In Class:A
