Comments:MTH 1308 - I only got a D in the class because I could've tried more but I didn't. If you've already taken precalc, the class shouldn't be too hard at all. The teacher shouldn't be teaching at any level. The tests are open notes but the exams aren't. Though, you can correct the exams.  - Grade In Class:D

Comments:1308 - Teacher is a joke, do not take her. If this had been my first time taking pre-calculus I would've flunked out and not learned a single thing. Unfortunately that was the case for a lot of people. She does a poor job explaining relatively simple concepts, she talks down to her students consistently. She isn't unfair with her tests for the most part at least. Also, she doesn't use canvas at all. That means the whole semester you are blind as to what your grade is unless you want to hand calculate it. If you've taken pre-calculus level math before you'll succeed but other than that do not take this professor.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1308 - Marietta Scott should not be teaching anymore. She mumbles, complains about masks. She gets her own example problems wrong on the bored. If you take Professor Scott you will be teaching yourself Pre-cal. She does let you use your homework answers for the quizzes. So if you do all your Homework, and get all the answers right, you will ace the quizzes.  - Grade In Class:C+

Comments:MTH 1308 - Prof. Scott is a nice lady but Awful teacher. A quick Warning to those who have never taken Pre-cal before, expect to be in a world of hurt. She doesn't teach precal, she only reviews it meaning you will have to teach yourself EVERYTHING. This can be nice for those who have taken pre-cal before but people like myself, who had never taken pre-cal, fall behind immediately on Day 1. I had to go to SIs and even get a separate tutor just to pass. She works incredibly fast so its hard to follow along and take good notes.Because she works so fast, she is constantly making mistakes and sometimes wont notice until the end which means everything you just wrote was a waste. She does not work anything out on the board except for the first equation so if you don't have something mastered after the first equation, the rest of class will be confusing. She also does not describe what she is doing or work anything out so you will see her write down several equations on the board but not tell you what they are. The only homework she has is optional but its pretty much mandatory because all her quizzes are questions from the homework. She is an average grader meaning she doesn't grade too hard but also not too lightly.  - Grade In Class:C

Comments:1308 - She goes through a lesson or two every day on the white board with us which I found very helpful instead of just scrolling through a power point. She gives open homework quizzes which are just problems from the homework the class is very easy. She also asks numerous times throughout the lesson if their are any questions. She has an SI who makes practice tests which are the most helpful in he entire class. The practice test made this class a breeze. Overall if you sit towards the front take notes and ask questions the class is more than passible.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:MTH 1308 - Prof. Scott often will start a problem and then realize that she is doing it wrong, and start over which can be extremely confusing. Sometimes when she makes a mistake she will not know how to actually do the problem, so she will just move on even if the question will be on the test, so you have to teach yourself. Many times she will ask if anyone has a question but then move on before anyone has a chance to actually ask anything. There is not really ever time for asking specific homework questions and she seems uninterested if you go to her during office hours, she does not do a great job of explaining things one on one. I also had gone to her to ask if I could take a quiz early so that I could fly home for Thanksgiving a day earlier and she told me no. I understood why, so I booked my flight a day later in order to take the quiz. She then moved the quiz about two weeks later, and I could no longer move my flight. Prof. Scott also does not use canvas or respond to emails, so the only time to really see her is staying after class, which is not always possible for me since I have a class directly after.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1308 - I can never follow along with her in class. She makes no sense. I had to teach myself everything. The course material is easy, but she makes it way too complicated. She also doesn't understand the material herself, and can't figure out how to solve a problem if she made a mistake. Pretty bad. I literally only showed up to class for attendance requirements.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:MTH 1308 - Do not take this class if you are not good at math already. She is a nice woman, but I would have completely failed this class if it hadn't been for my SI. In class she doesn't always make sense and she speeds through chapters like nothing. She also loves to say how lazy she is and how she doesn't like to do the arithmetic on the board so "look in the book." I'm awful at math and I needed a teacher who would actually work everything out on the board and explain everything we needed to know for the test. She also is very against any kind of memorization, so when asked if we could put the steps of a problem up on the board so we could memorize them, she refused. Quizzes are simple - just do the homework and copy it. Tests were very difficult for me until I went to SI because I just wasn't actually learning anything. Again, if you want the teacher to teach you what you need to know and are not good at math, I would not recommend this professor.  - Grade In Class:B+

Comments:Business pre cal - Well, she is a very nice lady but i can't say she is the best professor I have ever had. I ended up having to teach myself everything from the textbook, but her quizzes come straight from the homework and she gives an awesome review for her test so it's easy to make a good grade, I just don't feel like I learned anything.  - Grade In Class:B

Comments:1308 - Well to start off if you end up with Ms. Scott don't freak out it could be a lot worse she is a very nice lady but has little to no teaching ability. You have no homework other then the "optional" homework from the department. Except these homework is where she pulls all of her quizes from so if you do them her quizes are easy 100's. When it comes to her tests most of it is pretty easy and she grades pretty fairly and try's to give points if you show any bit of work. The only major issue I had with this class is the final exam.. which for some reason was Departmental and extremely difficult and nothing that she taught you during the year is relevant.  - Grade In Class:B

Comments:Business Pre-cal - I liked Professor Scott. She was really nice and answered everyone's questions in class. I'm not sure what everyone's issue was with her. Her tests were easy and fair, she is a fair grader, and her quizzes were just copying straight from the homework. If you do the homework and put in effort when studying, you will get a good grade. It is really annoying that she doesn't use canvas though.   - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1308 - This class isn't hard, but you do have to teach a lot of it to yourself. Professor Scott moves really quickly in class, and is pretty difficult to learn from. The actual work is really easy if you're fairly good at math, but going to class is completely pointless. The quizzes are open book, open note, and open homework and her tests are really easy so it's not too hard to get a good grade.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1308 - This teacher is like a teacher you would have in high school where they are so senile that its tough to deal with her. In class, she teaches us by doing the example problems in the book. Gradewise, people range from getting a 100 to a 50 on her test. She does not have Canvas set up, and she makes you look up your own grades. Finally, she is terrible to get advice from. Find a different business pre-calc teacher.  - Grade In Class:B
