Comments:2381 - SUMMER course: The class is asynchronous where he posts video lectures and his pdf fill in the blank notes for you to study. You have all week to watch the videos as long as you finish the homework and exam by the due dates. There are 4 total exams (3 unit exams each worth 20% and the final exam worth 25%). There is a 15-25 question homework on canvas for every chapter. Homework is worth 15%. There are 5 available bonus points that you can add to each exam grade by creating questions and answering questions on the discussion board. There are also homework bonuses that are easy questions like “pick a number and if your number is picked the least out of the class, you earn bonus points”. He also offers another homework bonus that is due at the end of the semester where you can provide examples of statistics in real life and earn up to 5% bonus on your overall homework grade. Homework: The homework is long and time consuming. You have unlimited attempts until it’s due so if you try hard enough you can essentially have a 100% on homework. However, there are many questions in the homework bank, so it may take MANY attempts to get 100% on a single homework. Exams: The homework is the most representative of what type of questions you’ll expect to see on the exams. The exams are difficult, however during the summer course, the exams are open note and require a mic and camera to watch you. During the summer, he curves every exam at least 5 points. He curved the final over 10 points. He repeats exam questions from previous semesters, so if you have a friend who took his class before, I would ask to study their old exams. Overall opinion: I am glad I took this class over the summer because I was able to watch his lectures on 2x speed, use my notes on exams, and not be bored to death in his class like how his other students describe him in the other ratings. In my opinion, I think the summer class is easier, less stressful, and better. If I had to take this class again, I would only take it during the summer.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:2381 - Do yourself a favor and take this class over the summer. The exams are open note. (During the school year it’s not open note) and he’s more generous with extra credit. I usually waited till the last 1-2 days before the exams to Do all the work and it was fine. Take it over the summer.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:STA 2381 - Dr. Patrick was pretty alright! The class itself is exhaustive, but he can be really funny sometimes with random dad jokes, so overall, he is a nice person and a decent professor. The exams don't always entirely relate to what is taught in class in terms of difficulty level. Also, the homework takes FOREVER. However, nothing entirely fantastic or absolutely horrible about this class with Dr. Patrick. Very average, stereotypical college lecture.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:2381 - I wish I had tried a lot harder in this class because it's really not that difficult. As the reviews below so kindly pointed out, lecture can be a bit dry. On day one he took the whole 1:15 going over the syllabus. Granted, statistics is just a really boring subject and the classes were long so I don't really blame him too much. Anyway, you get to use whatever calculator you want, plus a front & back cheat sheet on every test. SI was a game changer as well because it's only an hour, you pick the time, and the questions are nearly identical to the test. The tests are 25 multiple choice questions, and an A is a 93 so I hated that. In fact I'm gonna make this a 90% rating because I know by his standards that's not an A lmao. But there's free extra credit and he gave us an 8-point curve on the final. Dr. Patrick is a friendly guy and his class is pretty straightforward. Just make sure not to fall behind because that's what I did wrong.  - Grade In Class:B

Comments:2381 - Dr. Patrick is the most boring man on this planet. It was so hard to pay attention. That being said, my grade was my own fault. If you pay attention (which was nearly impossible) you'll be fine. but seriously SO BORING. longest hr and 15 min on my life. I would never suffer through this again  - Grade In Class:C+

Comments:2381 - This class may be the most boring thing in the world. Dr. Patrick somehow makes learning more treacherous than self induced torture. Dr. Patrick embodies a slice of a computer paper. He is so incredibly bland, it has become his only character trait. Not to mention, the slightest whisper results in a panic attack and noticeable shaking. I consistently went to class and regretted enrolling at Baylor, strictly because of this class. I can not emphasize enough, you will never, IN YOUR LIFE, experience a longer 1:15 minutes. Class is easy though lol  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:2381 - first off, i took dr patrick in a summer session (online) and he made all of the tests open note, so if you can do that, i would highly recommend. his lectures are a more fill in the blank style, which works for some people. personally, i thought the hw and tests were hard because they were actual problems and his lectures didn't correspond. that said, you had unlimited attempts on the hw and if you can do the hw, you can do the tests. he has3 tests and a final. he does not drop a test but he does do the exam grade replacement, only if it benefits you. his tests are 25 questions and he curved each test at least 6 points (but i think that is bc i took him online and we could not get partial credit since it was lockdown). he offers a TON of bonus points. you can do discussion board questions and replies for bonus + he will do mini quizzes (they don't test your knowledge theyre more like whats your favorite color and get 3 points). i didn't do super well on the tests but with the curve, the exam grade replacement, and the bonus (those really saved my butt) i ended up with an A. i would say an A is really doable as long as you put some effort in.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:2381 - i fell asleep everyday ngl. do the homework, study for your tests from the homework, because the notes won't help at all. do all the extra credit opportunities that are given, they'll really boost your grade. i had a super high A just doing these things so it's not that hard to get an A in this class (93+). His final is pretty brutal. funny story - someone in my class after his final screamed "f stats" on the top of his lungs and you could hear him cry, that's how hard it was. But he curved it A LOT. also i had no previous exposure with stats and I still got an A  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:3305 - I do not recommend taking Dr. Patrick. He lectures the entire time with almost no engagement or interaction during class, so it's very har4d to pay attention. He provides notes that are fill in the blank, but the blanks are not even important to the material. The homework he assigns is all based on how well ou understand JMP, but the tests have nothing to do with that at all. So in my opinion it's a waste of time trying to learn the homework and then having to learn everything for the tests. That being said, the homework had unlimited attempts and was due the night before the tests, which was helpful as that was the only assignment throughout the semester. He does not like teaching business students and he makes that very clear as he compared us to his students in other departments and referred to us as "you business students" most of the time. He does allow a cheat sheet for the tests, but honestly I didn't know what I needed to write down so I don't know how much help they really were. Overall, he wasn't absolutely terrible, but he was y no means the best or most enjoyable professor. Made things a lot more difficult than they needed to be.  - Grade In Class:B+

Date: 2022-01-07

Comments:3386 - Dr. Patrick is a nice guy. His lectures are a little dry, but that's the nature of lecturing about math/statistics. My one complaint about the lectures is that he lectures off the book which we read/did the practice from as homework before the class, so this half of the class is a low value-add. In the other half of each class, we usually did coding in R about the concepts we were learning (you don't need to know R for this class). There are two tests and a final which are very reasonable and you should be fine if you know the book. There are two group projects which are fairly reasonable, but you get a random group for the second one (the projects are done in R, but you will know all of the code to use if you go to class). An A is a 93 but is not hard to attain if you put in a moderate amount of work.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:STA 2381 - So this was definitely not my favorite class, but it is easy to get an A as long as you want to put in the work. Dr. Patrick is a very dry lecturer, but he provides fill-in-the-blank notes with everything you would ever need to know for the exams. I would say that my previous high school stats class did help prepare me for this course, but I wouldn't worry too much if you haven't had any previous statistics classes. Dr. Patrick takes attendance, so it is in your favor to be present at every lecture. He will also tell you exam concepts or highly missed questions which will definitely be on the next exam or final. The best part of this class is the extra credit and cheat sheets for exams. For every exam, you get one sheet of paper front and back as a cheat sheet. You can include any information you want. For the final exam, you get three sheets of paper front and back, so I just left a little room on each of my previous cheat sheets to include any of the last few units for the final. My number one tip for this class is to do the exam extra credit discussion boards. These can definitely be the difference between letter grades in the class. In order to get an A, you have to have exactly a 93 or above which is sometimes difficult. As long as you post questions and respond to other people on the discussion board every few days leading up to the exam, you can earn up to 5 points on each test and the final. If you post like 10 responses every 2 days or so, he generally will give the full 5 points. His exams are normally 25 questions, so any extra credit is super helpful! He likes to focus on definitions and concepts on exams, and some questions come from the homework. This class is very manageable, and the extra credit is the best part.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:QBA 3305 - Actually got an A- in this course and missed an A by half a point so I'm a little bitter. Patrick is not very nice in class. He really hates business students, even going as far as to call all of us lazy and disrespectful several times in the semester. His idea of teaching is just filling in the blanks in some notes he made and it's not very engaging or helpful. His exam reviews are very helpful though and tell you exactly what you need to know, no surprises. We also got 3 pages front and back to have as a cheat sheet during the exam which is 100% the reason why I did so well in this course. He did teach a lot more stats than business analytics and tried on a very surface level to connect the stats he was teaching to our lives. The homework quizzes are easy and he gives you multiple tries, but I doubt you would need them. He offers extra credit in a super weird way where you have to post some questions or comments on discussion boards, so if you want insurance, do them.  - Grade In Class:B+

Date: 2021-12-14

Comments:2381 - Don't slack off in this class. I did relatively well during this class but definitely put it on the back burner, which resulted in my B. I would recommend paying attention during class, try to understand the fill-in-the-blank notes, and do your homework (and not the night before). This class is annoying because the homework is very easy, he basically lets you plug it all into a program, but the tests are mainly conceptual with no math. So in order to succeed you need to understand concepts, when to use each test, and be able to interpret exactly what the question means.  - Grade In Class:B

Date: 2021-05-17

Comments:STA 2381 - I would take Dr. Patrick over any other stats professor. He is extremely helpful. The class is difficult but he is always there to help if you need it. The tests can be pretty difficult at times, but getting an A is doable.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2021-05-13

Comments:2381 - Please don’t take his class lightly thinking it’s easy. It is pretty average in terms of difficulty, so it’s easy to not put a lot of efforts into studying for his tests. He has fill in notes for his lectures, which tbh do not help but because seriously no one learns math from writing notes. The trickiest part about his exams are definitions/conceptual questions. He will have questions that works out the math for you but if you cannot interpret it well you won’t do well. More than his tests, I thought his hw was harder than so long, so do them well ahead of time. I appreciated how straightforward he is as a person. If he doesn’t like something, he confronts easily and some people might think this is a bit sassy but I didn’t mind. He is also funny if you pay attention to what he’s saying but his lectures are superrr boring. He gives us so many extra credits and fun bonuses!!  - Grade In Class:B

Comments:2381 - Dr. Pat is a pretty cool dude. Grading scale is a bit steep where 93 is an A. This class was pretty straight forward, we had fill in the blank notes, an online homework assignment that was due before each test, and three tests plus a final. The homework assignments were not hard, and there was plenty of time to do them. You could do maybe 5 problems a day and be done before the deadline with no issues. Exams are fair game as long as you study, Patrick will put a few curveballs here and there so be sure that you really read the problems. The tests were a mix of conceptual questions and math problems, but you could make a cheat sheet for every test so no need to memorize. But one piece of advice, make sure you listen to Patrick during lecture and attend class. He really gets annoyed at low attendance, and if you're on your phone in class, he might call you out. One time he called out this innocent guy in the middle of lecture of about 200 students because he had his headphones in, so don't cross him because he can be very moody and bipolar sometimes. But overall, cool guy and a safe pick for stats.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:STA 2381 - Love this guy!! Made jokes in class and knows his stuff. We had a homework assignment due before every test (don't listen to the people below me... the homework was not hard at all and if anything it just took a bit of time out of your day). Other than that, it was a minimal workload. Study study study!! Highly recommend using your calculator from the start and not even bothering with StatCrunch (just google how to do everything on the calculator, it'll save you a BUNCH of time as opposed to having to do math by hand). Learning all the calculator functions is honestly how I was able to do so well. He also gave us a bunch of curves. He's a great prof and I highly recommend taking him!!!  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2021-01-14

Comments:2381 - Dr Patrick himself is great, but I found this course to be hard and im good at math & got an A in calc???? he does fill in the blank notes which taught me literally nothing. If I was going to learn something during this course, I was going to teach myself.  - Grade In Class:C+

Comments:STA 2381 - Stats in general is difficult at times, but Dr. Patrick literally makes it as easy as possible for us. For those saying there is a lot of workload must not realize what heavy workload really looks like if I'm being honest. If you plan well, you will do a max of 3-4 problems per day (not including weekends) which will probably take a max of 30 minutes total. The homework has a nice walkthrough on pretty much every question on how to solve it if you're having trouble understanding. His lectures are very structured. He has a big note packet that you can print before the semester starts with a bunch of fill-in-the-blank where he will give you the answers throughout the lecture. Very helpful for note taking and ensuring you have the important things down. Heavy proportion can be done via calculator. I would recommend learning how to do things on your calculator opposed to StatCrunch which is what he will use in class. The reason for this is because you can't use StatCrunch during the exam but you can use a calculator. For each section of the course, he offers chances for bonus points. Often times they take a max of 5 minutes to achieve. Furthermore, like I said earlier, you can use a calculator on the exam. You can also have a cheat sheet (both sides) for the exam. On the final, he allows you to have 3 cheat sheets. He even curved all of our finals by 20 POINTS... What more can you really ask from a professor?  - Grade In Class:C

Comments:2381 - I am not going to lie, there is too much homework in this course. Kind of ridiculous. HOWEVER his exams were super fair and he works with his students. I think that this professor is your best option for STA 2381 at Baylor.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2020-11-24

Comments:STA 2381 - Dr. Patrick is a good man. His class is going over the fill in notes each day which is decent, but he explains concepts well. He also has many homework bonuses which are fun games (ie Pick a number 1-10 whichever number is picked least in class those students get bonus points) to talk about statistics further. Exams are 25 question multiple choice, but you get to have a full page cheat sheet front and back which is fantastic. He also offers bonus exam points if you create or solve questions in a discussion board. The homework is tedious though. There's a lot of questions with some with up to 10 parts per question. While I didn't enjoy the homework. The class was otherwise fantastic. Do take Dr. Patrick  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2020-11-22

Comments:2381 - Dr. Patrick is the most compassionate and caring professor you'll probably have for stats. I was so shook to receive a very long email from him that he sent to his whole class which included a very encouraging letter and an amazing announcement about how he'd replace our final exam grade with our highest exam score or the other way around which probably saved many of us. As for his class, he uses a fill-in-the-blank format for us to take notes which may or may not be your style of studying. His exams are totally do-able as long as you pay attention in class and keep up with the homework. Stats wasn't a completely easy A class - you still have to put some effort into it but Dr. Patrick truly wants you to succeed. He gives so many bonus points through random "games" we play at the end of class. I started out with a C in the beginning but I was able to end with an A mostly because Dr. Patrick was gracious enough to adjust my exam scores after seeing that I had worked hard and improved my grades over time.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2020-05-21

Comments:STA 2381 - I enjoyed the small bonuses and games that Dr.Patrick would give us in class. He has been very prepared for the transition to online classes. Some people do not like fill in the blank notes, but I prefer them to having to buy a textbook. Disclaimer: the only reason I did not get a C in this class is because he replaced my final with a test grade. The only studying I did for this class was the homework problems and reading the notes, and that isn't enough to get a B under normal circumstances.  - Grade In Class:B

Date: 2020-05-13

Comments:2381 - If you need to take 2381, take Dr. Patrick. At first he comes off uninterested, but you learn he cares about students and just has a very dry sense of humor. I appreciated how he relates the material to science and medicine real-life examples. You have to complete online HW before each exam. It seems tedious, but it was the best way for me to master the material. The tests were tough but fair- 25 multiple choice. There are 3 exams and a final. He gives fill in the blank notes which aren't the best way to remember information, but they are very helpful for studying. During COVID, Dr. Patrick was extremely helpful and understanding. Always communicating things in advance. Take Dr. Patrick if you need this class!  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:2381 - Dr. Patrick is a God amongst men. He is helpful, kind, and teaches statistics in a way that everyone can understand. I took him during the COVID semester and he has been so understanding. He understands that this pandemic has changed the lives of many students for the worse and has properly adjusted his course. He is always on top of his work (can't say the same about other profs). Uplaods lectures weeks in advance, checks extra credit individually, etc. Honestly love this guy and TAKE HIM!  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:STA 2381 - Dr. Patrick\'s class consists of 3 exams (20%) and a final exam (25%). No quizzes, LOTS OF EXTRA CREDIT, there is homework on my stats lab (15%). The homework overall isn\'t terrible but its a bit time consuming. I like the format of his notes. They\'re fill in the blank and it is perfect. NO NEED TO BUY TEXTBOOK! He specifies that clearly on the first day too. It is true. You wont need it. The notes are your textbook and it is more than enough to do well on exams. His lectures are... difficult to stay awake during. Drink coffee. You\'ll be fine. I would 10/10 recommend this class, it is possible to get an A. YOU GET A CHEAT SHEET FOR EVERY EXAM + FINAL (FRONT AND BACK). Find someone who has taken the class before!! He is kind and understanding. I am taking his class during the pandemic and he has been THE most understanding professor during this time. He is very proactive and he cares about his students which I truly appreciate.   - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1380 - At first I didn’t really like Dr. Patrick. But after being in class for awhile your come to realize he’s a really nice guy. He’s really nice and helpful if you ask him questions. His notes aren’t the best, but you don’t have to buy the textbook. His test are hard, but not over the top. You really need to read the question because he will ask application questions. Questions are rarely face value. With that said, it’s not too bad. The homework isn’t hard, you get unlimited attempts. With that said, I wouldn’t take Patrick if you’re gonna be late or disrupt the class. Be respectful of him. He tries and is a good guy. I would take him again. I think Baylor could use a few more professors like him.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2019-06-25

Comments:STA 2381 - I WISH I TOOK SOMEONE ELSE FOR STATS AND HERE'S WHY YOU MIGHT TOO: Dr. Patrick tries very hard to make statistics interesting and apply to real life, so I will give him credit for that. However, he has fill in the blank notes. Let me repeat that: his notes for the entire semester are fill in the blank. I haven't met a single person in my life who said they learn from fill in the blank notes. I tried to still take my notes by hand (because that's the way literally everyone learns??) but he went way too fast for that. You have to pay to do homework in this class, but it's not too difficult. Most of it is kind of figure-it-out-on-your-own and it takes a gooooood while, but you get unlimited tries, and he lets you turn it in late if you need to. The homework did almost nothing to prepare me for exams, though. It prepared me better than his lectures did, but I never scored higher than a B+ on an exam. There's no book in this class, just the notes he has you print out. So, if you don't know something, good luck Charlie. If you email him a question, he won't answer it. He will just tell you to post it on the discussion board on canvas so students can answer it. He gives lots of extra credit opportunities, which is really nice. His exams are hard as all heck, but they're all multiple choice and he gives partial credit for some of the incorrect choices. He doesn't curve his exams because most people cheated and studied old exams, so they did well, and the class average was always a high B. MORAL: not a good lecturer, at least 15 points of extra credit opportunities, hard exams, not helpful, long homework, and I literally did not learn a single thing. Also, FILL IN THE BLANK NOTES???????/  - Grade In Class:B

Date: 2019-05-09

Comments:STA 2381 - I loved every second of this class. He made statistics so enjoyable for me! He made statistics fascinating and practical (he used a whole lecture that would not be tested just to give us information on how to use different methods to test data in the "real world"). I really appreciated that he wanted us to actually learn. Take advantage of the bonus point opportunities! You can get up to five bonus points on each of the three tests and up to five bonus points on the final by writing questions to be posted to his discussion board. He also gives random in class bonus point opportunities. His tests get harder as the semester progress, but it's not impossible to ace them. Make sure you know how to use the information you put on your cheat sheets (you get one for the regular tests and three for the final), and you'll be set! The homework he posts allows you attempt every question until you get it correct, so I would recommend doing the homework early and getting a 100 on it for a buffer!  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2018-12-13

Comments:2386 - Patrick is a good choice for stats. His lectures are probably the most boring thing in the world and you will be falling asleep almost every day but if you can manage to at least half pay attention you will be fine. He offers a lot of extra credit if you participate on the discussion board or send him questions, but make sure you start from the beginning of the semester because the test get harder as they go so you might end up needing a little wiggle room when it comes to the final. He allows a cheat sheet on every test that you can put whatever you want on just make sure you know how to use the information on there. The online homework sucks and in my opinion stat-crunch (the online software) is difficult to figure out. Theres not a whole lot of homework if you do it as you go, but in reality everyone waits til the last minute and it literally kills you. He will also do some random extra credit opportunities throughout the year so if he asks you how old he is he's 37. (that one was worth 4 bonus points)  - Grade In Class:B

Date: 2018-12-05

Comments:STA 2381 - Dr. Patrick was overall a good teacher! His lectures weren't the most interesting, but he does explain things very well and answers any questions you have. I felt like when I went into office hours he was very nice and he genuinely wants you to do well. The workload isn't that bad, pretty standard for a math class. The homework isn't due until the class before the test, which can be helpful if you have to prioritize another class one night or something. You get to make a cheat sheet for every test, even the final! With all that said, I think if you can take Dr. Patrick, you should.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2018-07-16

Comments:STA 2381 - Dr. Patrick is GREAT! His lectures can be sometimes boring but he does provide good notes and explanation. He has 3 exams and one final. His first exam is easy but the second and third one is pretty hard. His exams are not impossible but you do have to work to get a good grade. He gives out homework assignments that is due by the night before your exams. The questions take quite a long time so don't wait to do all of them. If you have any questions, he is very helpful in answering them. Also, before every exam, he has one class that is dedicated to answering any questions for the unit. Dr.Patrick is definitely not an easy professor but you will learn a lot in his class.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2018-04-30

Comments:3386 - Class is highly dependent on your understanding of regression in R. Patrick explains its processes very well and is even better teaching in office hours. Midterm and Final were half in class and half take home programming. In class exams were very simple and straightforward. There was only one homework assignment of the semester for our class but that was just due to time, probably won't happen again. Interesting class that is not too challenging unless programming is difficult for you.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2018-01-08

Comments:2381 - I would not call Dr. Patrick an easy professor. This course was more challenging than I expected, and I had to work to get my A. The first test is easy, the second test is difficult (so don't cram for it), and the third test was easy as well. Patrick's final exam was hard too, but I did better than expected so perhaps he curved it. As a professor he is kinda moody and thinks his subject deserves more respect than it does. Just study hard for the second test and give this class the respect it deserves. Overall Patrick is ok professor who makes the class harder than it needs to be and isn't very friendly--but he is helpful.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:2381 - Dr Patrick is a FANTASTIC statistics professor. He is undoubtably one of the best professors I've had at Baylor. He's very friendly and was willing to answer any questions that came up during the course. While statistics in general is a fairly difficult subject, he does an excellent job at actually teaching it. I never found myself having to teach myself material or felt like test material was not well enough covered in class. I actually enjoyed taking this class and I highly recommend taking Dr. Patrick!  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:STA 2381 - Dr. Patrick is amiable, concise, and clear when it comes to his lectures. He offers plenty of extra credit, and his test are a fair assessment of the lecture material. He also provides excellent lecture notes to help you keep track of the material. A fairly new professor to Baylor and a great addition to the stat department!  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:Stats I - Shuford has a clear teaching style and always prepares you for what is coming. You get to use a cheat sheet on the tests, and there are several homework assignment online throughout the semester. Dr. patrick is always willing to talk and help out with a difficult concept. Great teacher!  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:STA 3381 - Dr. Patrick is an interesting fellow. He is very knowledgable about statistics and provides in-class note guides for us to print out and follow along with. He started off the first day by saying that his previous students averaged a C in his class. Also be advised, a true A is above a 93. A 90-93 yields an A-. He gives one homework assignment every few weeks, always tells you when there will be a quiz, and gives bonus points on homework assignments. He is just very straightforward and not trying to trick you. His midterms were quite fair, but covered a wide subject matter. You can bring a front/back cheat sheet, but there is also a lot of material covered in this course. The final exam brought my grade from an A to a B (completely skipping over A- and B+) even though I studied quite hard for it. At times it seemed like he was oversimplifying the material and explaining it in a way that was below the course level, but overall he was a good instructor. Compared to some of the other Stats classes, this one is slightly tougher, but put in some effort and you should be fine.  - Grade In Class:B

Comments:STA 2381 - I loved Dr. Patrick! I've heard Baylor has lacked good Statistics professors over the years, But Dr. Patrick is fresh from UC Davis in California, and he teaches a great class. The notes are highly organized, easy to follow, and easy to study for the exams, which are challenging. He also gives several quizzes and takes your best half, and drops the lower half. The homework can be tedious, but do it all, because it will help you learn the material and it can also only help improve your grade in the class. The only real problem is that Dr. Patrick can often speak pretty quietly, and it's difficult to keep yourself attentive for the 75 minutes of pure notes each class. Sometimes he throws in some bonus, which is great, and sometimes he'll end class early. Overall, Patrick made me love statistics. Take him.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:3381 - Dr. Patrick is a great teacher! He is very nice and explain things well. The exams are not hard as long as you listen to the class, take notes, do the HW, and understand the material. There are quizzes and HW. He gives bonus to the HW and also drop some of the quizzes. He is really helpful if you go to find him! Take him!  - Grade In Class:B+

Comments:STA 2381 - Dr. Patrick was a great professor and a really great guy in general. As boring as statistics can be, he still made class worth while. Dr. Patrick is one of the best professors I've ever had in terms of how helpful he was in office hours. Whenever I would come in before an exam to review or ask questions he would always give his full attention and give good criticism. His tests can be slightly hard because they are mainly free response but he is a very fair grader and as long as you have some clue of what you're doing then you'll get partial credit. He also allows an entire page cheat sheet. Make sure to study hard for the exams, especially the first one, and make sure to do a lot of practice problems. Reading notes won't be enough. If you have to take a statistics class then definitely take Dr. Patrick. I'm very happy I did.   - Grade In Class:A
