Comments:REL1310 - Dr. Werse is one of the best professors I have ever had (teaching wise). His lectures were great, even at 8AM in the morning on campus. I will say his class structure was a bit hard for me since the quizzes are only 5 points and his wording is pretty tricky sometimes. You will have 2-4 five questions quizzes due per week and 3 exams total. It is pretty hard to make an A in this class unless you score 5/5 on all of the quizzes and get A's on the tests. There is little wiggle room for error. Other than that though, I wish I could take him for another class just to listen to his lectures!  - Grade In Class:B+

Comments:REL 1310 and 1350 - THIS IS ONE OF THE GREATEST TEACHERS AT BAYLOR!!! His enthusiasm and care for each student was seriously so refreshing. He started off the first day of class already knowing each of our names and our majors. He engages every student into the course and incorporates the coolest stories. He's easy to reach out to after class, in office hours, and through email. During my time I had him, it was a straight up battle to get into this class because everyone seriously wants him. He teaches with a power-point, you have assigned readings with corresponding online quizzes. This class is super doable and he really gives you everything you need to know for the multiple choice test.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:Social World 1 - Dr. Werse is the best! He always starts class with an old rabbinic story. He is super funny and uplifting. I originally thought he was too loud but if you embrace it you start to enjoy it. He is extremely helpful and dedicated to his students. He will meet with you and help you anytime. He is super busy but he will work with you. I think he rewards students who are good writers and he hates when students make excuses for late work. Just do your job and he will appreciate you  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:REL 1350 - Dr.Werse is the best. He is really weird, funny, nice, and an actual genius. He is fun to talk to outside of class because he just knows so much. He goes over a lot of material but makes it very manageable and easy. You will learn tons and get an A if you just study a little.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:REL 1350 - Dr. Werse is AMAZING!!! I took him for both scriptures and heritage and he is by far one of my favorite professors I've ever taken at Baylor. He is so excited about his subject and his energy is infectious. He is very straightforward in the way he teaches and all the information on his tests come from his powerpoints. Comments:1350 - Dr. Werse is genuinely one of the most passionate professors I have ever had. His class is organized very well. He does give quizzes every class, which sometimes consist of a lot of reading. His tests are very fair. I highly recommend taking him. You will not regret it.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1310 - This man is a GEM. He is so nice, makes lectures interesting and made learning the Bible very easy for a people who were not Christians. His tests are very easy and fair. As long as you study the Powerpoints you're solid.  - Grade In Class:B+

Comments:1310 - Dr. Werse is a wonderful professor whether you are a religion major or an atheist. He is accepting and welcoming of different view points. He loves questions and discussion! The class itself is very easy, just pay attention!  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1310 - Dr. Werse is the by far the best teacher I have ever had. You do have to work for your grade in the class but he equips you to do so in a way that allows you to enjoy his class. I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Werse.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1310 - Dr. Werse’s class is so easy. The tests are super straight forward and theres so many quizlets you can find that will help you study. Theres 3 tests (the 3rd is your finals so not comprehensive), pre lecture quizzes online, and participation. The quizzes are why I’ll get a B. I’d either forget to do them or miss 1 or 2 questions (they’re 4 questions each). Super easy if you actually do them!! He’s energetic and super helpful. Take him!  - Grade In Class:B

Comments:1310 - Dr. Werse is THE BEST religion professor. He is always so enthusiastic and actually makes the information interesting. You can tell he genuinely is passionate about Christian scriptures and wants his students to find an interest in the subject and be impacted by what he teaches. As far as work goes, there is reading required to take a short, at home reading quiz before each class, but they are pretty easy and very manageable. The tests are easy if you know the information, very straightforward. TAKE HIM!!  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1310 - Dr. Werse is the BEST!! His excitement for scripture and religion makes the class so interesting and enjoyable. He is honestly one of the best and kindest teachers I've ever had and he truly cares about his students. He really likes to tell old Rabbinic stories, which are amazing and loves his coffee. There are 4 question quizzes due online over the readings (which are usually very short) before each class and three tests. As long as you pay attention in class, do the quizzes, and study over class notes before the test, you'll be great! I cannot recommend Dr. Werse's class enough. TAKE WERSE!!  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1310 - Take Werse!! Such an interesting class! He is an incredibly knowledgable and engaging professor. As long as you take notes in class and study a couple of days before each test you should be able to make an A. Definitely will be taking him again for heritage. (also he's really funny and reminds me of a cartoon character hopping around the classroom lol iykyk)  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1350 - Loved Dr. Werse, my favorite professor at Baylor so far. He has this ability to cover content well as well as engage the class in great discussions. I was excited to go to class every single day. Also, the online quizzes are open book and over a short reading each class; do the reading, then open the quiz and refer back to the reading as you know where information is. Super easy that way, I missed one or two quiz questions all semester. Tests are MC and totally reflect the lecture, which is engaging. It does take a bit of studying, but its almost enjoyable going over the material again. He's a great guy, loved this class. I'd take any religion class he teaches and it's not even my minor.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1350 - I took him for 1310 and was excited to take him for 1350! He's the sweetest guy and super passionate and energetic about what he teaches. There's 2 weekly quizzes on Canvas but they're 5 questions. 3 exams, all 50 multiple choice. The exams are lecture heavy so if you have questions, don't be afraid to ask him! I went to his office hours the class before the exam and he literally goes over everything with you - it's incredible and changed my exam grade. There's no papers or projects. A big part of the grade for the class is participation so make sure you ask questions, participate in discussion or volunteer to read. I'm so sad I won't have another chance to take him!  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1310 - This guy is awesome! He's so energetic and is really passionate about what he teaches. He's always willing to help. There's about 2 quizzes every week on Canvas that were 5 questions. His exams are multiple choice and he goes over what's going to be on the exam the class before. It really helps. He also knows everyone's names by the end of the first class, it's really impressive. He loves when students ask questions.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1350 - I loved professor Werse. He is very passionate about the things he is teaching. He is full of energy and tries to learn the names of ALL of his students by the first week of class. The only thing that stinks about his heritage class is that 70% of our grade comes from tests. There are only 2 tests and a final, so you have to cover and study a ton of information from each test. But there is no paper or project or anything.  - Grade In Class:B

Comments:1350 - Professor Werse has an excitement about teaching that is unique in style. He doesn\'t want to be known as the easy teacher which moderately plays a role in class, tests, and readings. However, readings are not the most difficult, taking notes for this class is easy, and studying for the tests are reasonably straight forward. My critique would be that his section reviews for tests are not actually that useful for studying. It is more or less a session for you to ask questions rather than a period for a study guide. Take his class if you want a good teacher.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1350 - Dr. Werse is extremely energetic and happy all the time. He likes to tell Rabbinic stories randomly throughout the lectures which take up time. He puts all of his notes on his powerpoint slides, so you just need to copy the board and then study that before the test (which are pretty easy). There are reading assignments to do before each class and then an online quiz that goes along with the reading. He gives 3 tests (all 50 MC), including the final, and there are no papers. If you ask him over and over again for extra credit, he will likely give in and make an assignment for you to do. Overall, he is a great professor - definitely take him if you can!  - Grade In Class:B+

Comments:1310/1350 - Professor Werse is the best! I went into his class having no idea how the semester would go and I was completely satisfied. He makes the class actually very interesting and is clearly very excited about his subjects. He is great at engaging the students in conversation and keeping them entertained, whether it be by simply speaking very excitedly or telling them old rabbinic stories. I would recommend him 100%. You do have homework every night which consists of readings from the textbooks and a homework assignment/quiz to go along with them, but the reading isn't too much and the assignments are very doable. (P.S. When I took the class, no essays were written, bonus!)  - Grade In Class:A
