Comments:2306 - Dr. Hollingsworth was a great professor! I am a Junior who was pre-med my entire undergraduate career and decided to switch into ECO. Dr. Hollingsworth made the transition smooth and even though I had not had Economics since freshman year of HS, he explained everything so well that it made everything a lot less stressful. He assigns Aplia HW every week or every-other week (usually 8-10 problems) and he will give full credit if you just do 80% of the HW. The tests were very similar to the HW and the examples worked in class. I never cracked the book open, I just paid attention in class and took the homework seriously and the course was no problem. Take him if he is available!!  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:ECO 2306 - This class was rough for me. I was really not a fan of this professor, was completely lost during pretty much all of the semester, and then despite trying really hard to use the book to study for tests it never seemed enough. He teaches from a PowerPoint, goes insanely fast (even typing I missed information), and then won't go back and really doesn't seem to care if you didn't get everything. For your final he WILL NOT let you see any previous tests, so basically you have to go to him after every test and look at it but then you won't get to see it again. Really crappy for the final to see what specifically you need to work on. Also he won't let anyone ever have the powerpoint for any reason, or that's what he would say. So sucks for you if you can't write/type everything you need to know. Overall he ended up being kind of a jerk and I didn't get the feeling he cared too much about helping us. If you can, take someone else.  - Grade In Class:C+

Comments:ECO 2306 - Professor Hollingsworth is a great guy! He LOVES Baylor and opens pretty much every class talking about Baylor sports and/or his family. He has a lot of energy, and makes class pretty entertaining. For class, he lectures from the powerpoints provided by the textbook company, and he talks extremely fast (would definitely recommend taking notes on your laptop). Homework is all online, and if you get an 80+, he gives you 100. You will need to do a lot of reviewing on your own. This class has 4 tests, including the final. The final is 30% of your grade, so be ready for that. Overall, the class was not bad.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:Micro - Professor Hollingsworth is definitely the biggest Baylor fan I have ever met. The dude wore something Baylor everyday. I found the class to be relatively simple. He taught from PowerPoints that he got from the book and infused his real life experience. His lectures were always interesting because he had real life experience to draw examples from. His office hours were okay but he was available anytime if you just asked. Yes, he has high expectations and requires us to put in the work but he cares a lot about the student’s success. The real world is hard and college is too. I feel that Professor Hollingsworth’s class prepares me for whatever comes next.  - Grade In Class:B+

Comments:2306 - Hollingsworth is probably one of the worst teachers I have ever had. He is painfully boring and makes economics even more brutal. I'd say he sees life very black and white and is very much so a rule follower which is good and bad. On the bright side, he makes kinda funny dad jokes and is very passionate about Baylor sports, which he will waste a minimum of 15 minutes discussing in the beginning of every class. I recommend avoiding his class, especially if you want an easy A. Previous posts were written during his first semester teaching at Baylor and his class has changed since then. From my understanding, he made the course a lot harder after reading his reviews where everyone claimed his class was very easy. I think his tests are really hard, he provides no reviews, and is not very helpful during office hours. When I went into office hours, he got the questions wrong on the homework that I needed help on. Going to his office hours didn't provide much clarity. For lectures, he reads off of power points provided by the textbook company every class. If anyone in the class uses their cell phone, the test will be more difficult. Another positive, he gives you 100% on the homework assignments if you get 80% or above correct. This was helpful towards my grade but because of this, he will not provide any opportunity for extra credit. There are 4 tests, a final and homework that makes up your final grade. Nice guy, very bad teacher. Maybe avoid if you can.  - Grade In Class:B+

Comments:Micro - Be prepared to teach yourself economics!! Going to class is a waste of time because he flies through powerpoints and refuses to post them on canvas. Not a very helpful teacher and seems like he's only teaching cause he got tired of his business job and wanted to spend more time with his kids. Take him if you want to learn all about his personal life, and not actually economics. Best way to study for the tests are doing the homework problems. You only need an 80+ on the homework for it to count as a 100. Easy class if you have the time to sit down and teach yourself because the tests are not bad.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:Princ of Micro - He is a special character. He does not post anything online and his power points are straight out of the textbook. If you take him make sure you are fast at taking notes because he has a lot on his power points and he goes pretty fast. He does not post power points. The homework is ok and he gives you a 100 if you get at least a 90. His tests are not easy but if you study you will do ok. If you are looking for an easy A don't take him because in order to get an A you will have to work hard for it.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:2306 - Do not take if you don\'t want to have to teach yourself everything. He treats his students like 5 year olds mainly due to having taught high school before this. He does not teach. He just reads the textbook released powerpoints. You will not do well on his tests unless you know the chapters front and back. If you hate sports do not take his class he spends the first 20 minutes of every class talking about them. He does not post his syllabus on canvas so when he gives it to you the first day do not lose it.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:ECO 2306 - I got Professor Hollingsworth for his first semester teaching at a university. His teaching was quite bumpy at first, but he got acclimated to it as the semester moved on. He gives you a 100 on homework as along as you make above a 70, and there was only two tests and a final. I'm thinking his class will probably get better in later semesters as his teaching abilities continue to develop. He's overall a nice person and very helpful.  - Grade In Class:B+

Comments:2306 - So I had to retake this class after getting a C- my previous semester from another professor. He was honestly the best professor to take, he explains things straight out of the book and has a lot of real world experience. He gives a huge amount of credit for homework and gives you a 100 if you make over a 70 on it. His lectures are interesting but you don't necessarily have to listen, you can learn just as much from reading the book. He's a nice guy and easy to talk to! I recommend taking him over the other professors in the economics department!  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:2306 - Great guy and very fun teacher to have as he loves to talk about Baylor sports. Very new teacher so struggles a lot of times explaining to students but knows how it applies in the real world. Workload not too bad as if you get a 70+ on the homework you get a 100. If you do the homework and take notes it is really not too hard to get an A on the tests. Probably your best option if you're looking for an A but might not learn as much.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:2306 - Professor Hollingsworth is a great person.Baylor graduate and loves Baylor more than anyone else I know. Be ready to talk about Baylor sports for at least 10 minutes to start off class every day. Really cares about his students and want them to succeed. But with that being said, he has been teaching for less than a year and is not the best at relaying the information, but has much improved over the course. BUT, the class is so easy and the tests are not hard. Would definitely recommend taking him. Homework is worth 30% of your grade and if you make above a 70 on it, he just gives you a 100. Tests, 2 tests and a final, aren't hard as long as you do that homework. Always available for help whenever you need it.   - Grade In Class:A
