Comments:PHI 1308 - Dr. Hibbs is such a wonderful person. She cares about her students so much and is always prepared for whatever they need (one day a student came in sick, and she pulled a box of tissues and cough drops out of her purse to offer him). She explains concepts super well with seemingly no bias, and she is super forgiving with tests. It's hard to know exactly what she's looking for from essays sometimes, but she grades pretty easily, and she works with her students. Also, she treats her students very respectfully.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:2301 - She has interesting discussions but she grades in a very biased way. I expressed once after class that I tend to lean one way politically and my essay grades started to decrease. I gave a presentation which met the requirements and I felt was pretty solid. She gave me the lowest grade in the class on this, which is ridiculous because there were a few presenters who gave short presentations that rambled on aimlessly. One guy gave half a summary of a movie that was kind of related to one of the books we read and he was given a higher grade.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:GTX 2301 - Take Dr. Hibbs!! She is such an amazing person and wants her students to excel in and outside the classroom. The reading workload is about what you would expect for a great texts class. Her daily-ish quizzes are very fair and doable even if you just read spark notes. The tests however have pretty specific questions, but she is a fair grader.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:Great Texts - TAKE HER! She is such a nice lady. Her tests are multiple choice and very straightforward. Just show up to class and take notes and you will be fine in the class. She basically just tells you everything in her notes so you don't even need to read the books. Just have an idea on what went on in the books. Honestly, one of the best English professors. Her essays are fun and easy, and she grades reasonably as long as you tried.  - Grade In Class:B+

Comments:GTX2301 - Dr. Hibbs is a great professor if you don't mind reading. Thankfully my class did not have the 20 question quizzes, and instead tests over the individual books. If you read, you should be fine, however if you did not, sparknotes and summaries online as well as her notes from class greatly help. The homework was the reading OR essays. I am a good writer (never received a below a B on anything), however I never did well on her essays. She grades on a built in curve, the best essay receives a 100 and then goes down from there. If you think you can beat out your peers, you'll be fine (I didn't cause most of my class was seniors). The tests consist of short response, so if you don't know it, guess! Better to guess than leave it blank (she will probably tell you this). She is extremely fair and if you don't mind reading or receiving a B, you'll be fine.  - Grade In Class:B+

Comments:GTX 2301 - A good teacher, and super engaging! She made waking up early not terrible. I really enjoyed her classes, except for the quizzes, which were 20 question short answer, and directed orally, so I only had a few seconds to remember the answer off the top of my head. The best grade I got on those was a 85, and most were in the 70 range. We only had a final for a test, and a good chunk of the grades were in the essays, which were graded kinda harshly. She is never available for help online or in office hours, and didn't post any help on canvas. You don't necessarily have to read the entire books because if so this class would be awful, but definitely at least skim them before the quizzes and read summaries. You're gonna have to read a good chunk of them for the essays to get a good idea of what you're talking about, so if you can just do it before the quiz.  - Grade In Class:B+
