Comments:3305 - She seems a nice lady if you talk to her but I seriously hated this class. She makes tests 85% of your grade so she doesn't have to grade anything beyond that. The projects are easy and done in class but only worth 15% so they don't really do anything for your grade at all. She doesn't offer extra credit at all. So, if you do poorly on one exam, there's no chance of an A. The class structure is one of the worst I've seen. She's the only one teaching QBA right now and she seriously needs to retire. She doesn't seem like she cares about how her students do. Nice to your face, but the structure of the class truly shows her true colors. Take someone else if available  - Grade In Class:B+

Comments:3305 - Professor Turner is so sweet and her class really is not bad at all. People make it sound like she's hard but her class was a breeze. The exams are worth 85% of your grade, but you only have three and no final. The exams get easier as you go on, but they're not hard if you study. She really is a great teacher if you pay attention in class. Also - YOU DO NOT NEED TO BUY THE TEXTBOOK. Your projects will be in the textbook, but it would be pretty easy to get the project material from a friend. You can basically get a 100 on all of the projects and we did them in class. She also wants everyone to do well so if she needs to change grades she will. She is a great person and I would definitely recommend her class to anyone!  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:QBA3305 - Easy class, but goodness is she out of touch. She lecturers to the point of boredom and by the middle of the semester, no one is taking notes but instead scrolling through their laptops. The grading structure is 15% projects (basically in-class quizzes) and 85% exams (3 exams, including final). So if you mess up on one exam, you're screwed, like me. Don't get me wrong, she was a nice professor and even allowed us to make up some points on tests we did poorly on, but I wish she would fix the structure of the class. That all being said, I would probably take her again just because of the ease of the class.  - Grade In Class:B

Comments:3305 - As a summer course, I expected the schedule of assignments to be more lenient. She made quizzes available the day they were due, and same with exams. This was frustrating for me as I work during the summers, so being able to do all of my assignments on one day and have the rest of the week to just work is a lot easier. I did miss two exams due to her making them due at 8pm instead of 11:59pm, but she was kind enough to let me take them. She makes you buy the textbook she wrote (it's $75 for an online copy), but I didn't which probably has a lot to do with the grade I got. With 3 exams worth 85% of your grade, it's almost not worth it to do the quizzes. The wording of the quizzes are very confusing, and the overall layout of the "projects" (most of them are actually just quizzes) is not the best. Respondus was required for exams. Her lectures were her just reading word for word off the ppt, which would be fine but the ppts are pretty much just examples that mean nothing if not expanded upon. Overall, the material is fine, but the wording of the exams and projects is confusing. I am sure she is a lovely person, but the course definitely needs a facelift to make it more digestable to students.  - Grade In Class:C

Comments:3305 - This class was fairly easy. Theres only test and projects in it. Projects 15 percent and 3 test for 85%. I didn't take the first test seriously and one bad test grade kinda screwed me... thus a c+. Easy class though and almost no work load. Professor reads straight off the power-points so difficult to not get distracted. Hope this helps.  - Grade In Class:C+

Comments:3305 - Great teacher, ugly lady. She has hard projects as 15% of your grade and exams as 85%, which is a lot but they are very similar to the projects, shes very helpful in class and explains things well. For me, the first exam was the hardest, and the last exam was the easiest. Projects are largely done in class so show up. She has a bonus point or two throughout the semester. Take her if you can.  - Grade In Class:DROP

Comments:QBA 3305 - For a math class, there is hardly any math involved, but it can get hard to pay attention for an entire class sometimes, but that's to be expected in a stats class. She's really good at walking the class through the modules and has a bunch of projects to do that are very close to the questions on the tests. The only downside is that there are so few grades. Tests are worth about 85% of your grade, and there's only 3 of them. Do good on the tests, do good in the class.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:3305 - Dr. Turner is so sweet! You have a "project" due every week which doesn't take more than an hour and if you go into her office hours she will check your answers! You definitely need to study for her tests because there are not many of them and they can be hard. Overall, I would recommend her!!  - Grade In Class:B+

Comments:QBA 3305 - Professor Turner is so sweet. She really wants to make sure you are understanding what she is teaching. The tests are a little hard but she tries to give good info in the powerpoints. The book is unnecessary- don't buy it. Just listen to what she says in class and follow along on the sample problem worksheets. Those are your best friend. Also, go to her office! she is really sweet  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:QBA 3305 - She is a very sweet lady who is very into the lessons. She wrote the textbook, so everything inside it applies to class. However, she posted pdfs of all the chapters in Canvas, so you probably won\'t need to buy it. She tells you EXACTLY what you need to know for her class and works out most of the homework in class the day before it\'s due. As long as you pay attention and study, it\'s a very easy A.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:3305 - Professor Turner is a very sweet lady. BU doesn't have the best lineup for any of the QBA classes, but she is definitely the best from what I understand. Her class is very easy compared to the first QBA course before 3305. Class usually ends early, which is always nice. There are usually 2 tests and a final, but given that I took this course during the pandemic, the format of the course changed drastically and there ended up being five quizzes instead of a second test and final. The first test was easy as long as you studied. It should be an easy A if you're willing to take the class seriosuly and prepare adequately. Her rating as of the time I am writing this is a 78, which certainly does not do her any justice! In my opinon, she was great and deserves a much higher rating. Also worth noting, DO THE PROJECTS. They are very easy grade boosters and she usually does the whole thing in class with you. They are also crucial to use when studying for exams. The powerpoints are also very important to use for studying. Overall, I had a very good experience with her and I highly recommend.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:3305 - Take her! There are 4 exams (including the final) and a lot of projects but most of the time she goes over it in class and gives you an extra day to complete it. Her classes usually end early. Her exams are exactly like the projects with one or two questions worded weirdly, but other than they're really easy.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:3305 - Turner is a great professor to take for 3305! She understands that we will never have to make calculations by hand outside of college, and she teaches the class that way! I was terrified after the hell that was the first QBA class but her class is a piece of cake. Each chapter has a project to do, which is straight-forward and we worked on them in class. I will say, do not take this class as a MWF. Every Friday felt like a waste of time to come to class.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:QBA 3305 - Turner is a great professor, she is nice and helpful and willing to meet at office hours. The class was somewhat boring but you should try to pay attention to understand the projects better. Projects are done in class and Turner can help you and you can work with others, they weren't really difficult. Tests were 50 questions pretty much with the same content as the projects but with about 20ish questions that were definitions from the powerpoint or in class which tend to be the harder questions, but tests shouldn't be a problem if you just review the projects and look over the powerpoint. There are only 3 MC tests in total including the final and 8 projects. No homework, just try to pay attention in class to understand what's going on.  - Grade In Class:B+

Comments:2103 - she absolutely cannot teach. I have some friends that took her in the past and liked her, but everyone I have talked to that has her this semester does not like her too much. her powerpoint are either 5 slides or 70 slides and they are very vague. she reads straight from them and has no textbook or other resource to use. she has literally docked points from my project grades when she has explicitly told me the answers. I went into her office once and she literally told me every single answer and I copied her word for word and I did not get an 100. You have to teach yourself, but there is nothing to really use. She is really nice and passionate, but she has trouble relaying that into teaching well. I have learned absolutely nothing in her class. to study, you have to rely on the maybe three or four examples you did in class. it's also weird because tests are laid out a little bit differently and you go from doing everything on a laptop (literally everything- we type everything then print it to turn in) to having to do it all with pencil and paper. she is easily the worst professor I have taken, which stinks because she does love the subject so much, but I have taken many professors that are known to be awful so I feel like that says something.  - Grade In Class:B

Comments:3305 - Turner is a great professor. This is a hard topic to teach, and I feel like she does it pretty well by going through countless examples and doing the homework with you in class. Tests are easy, homework are easy 100s, and she is so sweet. You'll have no problem getting an A in this class.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2018-11-09

Comments:3305 - I don't know if she is easier in the summer, but this class was very easy. There was absolutely no homework, the projects were easy 100's, and the tests were pretty much exactly like the review (which she helped you fill out). It is scary that the tests were 90% of the final grade, but the tests were generally easy so you should be fine. Maybe her summer course is easier than the school year course she teaches.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2018-08-03

Comments:3305 - Easy class if you study. Class is boring, but the tests are pretty straightforward if you study hard. The first two tests had a couple of random questions not related to stats. There are 7 projects but those are free 100s. Overall Turner is a nice teacher, even if she isn't the best.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:QBA 3305 - Turner is nice but this class is really boring. As of Fall 2017, the business school is still figuring out the curriculum so I don't completely blame Turner for the lack of clarity on what we are supposed to know and all the confusion, but she did not prepare us well for the 4 exams which were 90% of the grade. The other 10% is easy points but minimal homework and little applicable practice study material in the form of the exams (multiple choice). All the exams are 50 multiple choice questions. Average grades were usually in the low 80s. The final exam was not cumulative but that could change. If you ask her questions she will basically give you the answer, and she will go out of her way to help you.  - Grade In Class:B+

Comments:3305 - Mrs.Turner is very positive and rely cheerful. She loves statistics. Her class seems very easy and the material looks like an easy A, but her test has questions that can catch you off guard. This happened to me on one of the exams and dropped I’m grade pretty bad. The exams are 90% of your grade. For the most part everyone usually get Bs or higher  - Grade In Class:C

Comments:3305 - Ms. Turner is so nice, and you'll love her...until your first exam. She told us we wouldn't have to study for more than an hour & just to study the vocab & look over the projects a couple times but the test ended up being very in-depth & included stuff we didn't even talk about. She also moved up one of our tests the DAY BEFORE it, so I basically had to cram. Not sure if I'll end up with an A, but I regret taking her. There is no way to know how the tests will be, she's totally unpredictable. However, she is very nice!! So if you don't mind surprising test questions then take her! There is no homework, just projects we do in class & tests.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:3305 - This class was ridiculous, probably the most boring class I have ever sat through. Turner made this worse. She has a cheery attitude but has no idea how to invoke student interest and even struggles to teach the most basic statistics. She said her first test would be easy, mostly vocab, and if we memorized that we would make a good grade. The test had zero vocab questions, completely conceptual and had stuff we never talked about. Then, the third test was moved up a class, but she didn't notify the students until the day before the exam, leaving us to study a whole sections worth of material in less than 24 hours. That being said, tests are 90% of your grade and if you do bad on one you are screwed for the rest of the year. All of that taken into account she is a very nice person and is generally accessible. I will finish this semester barely getting an A. Would not recommend if you are a person that wants to learn the material seriously and doesn't want tests moved out of the blue.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:QBA 2305 - Probably the kindest proff. I've had at Baylor. She's very helpful during her office hours which I'd totally rec. going to in case you are unsure of anything. There were 4 tests all weren't to hard but she always threw in a couple questions you had no clue about so you just guessed. Definently study the projects and look at power points. I never really took great notes and stopped after 3rd test. No text book is needed which is nice since she provides one online. This online book is helpful but not essential. Lastly do well on projects and the class shouldn't be to hard at all.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:QBA 2305 - Professor Turner is a very sweet lady that knows the material and loves teaching it. The course is made up of 4 exams and 7 projects. There is no homework besides the projects which are very easy and she sometimes does them in class. You do not have to pay for a book, she gives all of the chapters on Canvas. She also makes different sections with material for each exam. For the projects, follow along with her examples in class. For the exams, refer back to the projects, study the in-class examples, and look at the chapter power points in the Canvas sections. Definitely take Mrs. Turner!  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:QBA 2305 - This class is really easy throughout the year. Turner is a super nice lady, but her class is extremely boring and hard to get through. Projects are pretty easy and there was no final. My main complaint about her class is that there are about 5-8 questions on every test you have literally never learned about so you just kinda have to guess on them. She doesn't have the minus system (still has the plus system though) which is nice. Since tests are weighted so heavily, though, it is hard to get an A since you pretty much start every test with a 92 after you take out the questions you've never heard about.  - Grade In Class:B+

Date: 2017-05-10

Comments:QBA 2305 - Really the sweetest lady! She cares a lot, there no work load at all, you do projects in class for 10% of your grade and 4 tests (No final) for the remaining 90% If you study the projects you'll do fine on the tests. she doesn't do minuses, and she doesn't requires a text book, and again, no final. I would take her again!  - Grade In Class:B
