Comments:BUS 3315 - I took Business Comms over the summer (it's now BUS 2315), so there may have been some different assignments and whatnot. However, for the most part, I think it was the same as the semester class. Important to mention right of the bat that Dr. Iluzada is a super nice person, like definitely gives off motherly vibes. In terms of the class itself, the breakdown is as you'd expect: 20% of the final grade are the random homework assignments (things like McGraw Hill questions, a few video quiz questions, etc), 15% is for discussion board postings (usually where you drop your rough draft for writing assignments and peer review others), 30% is for final drafts (things like your polished, post peer-reviewed cover letter or email to deliver good/bad news), 20% is for presentations (there's only 3, the first is just to introduce yourself, the second is an elevator pitch, and the third is the final project), and the last 15% is for the COIL project (kinda annoying but could've been worse). A lot of the day-to-day assignments are just sorta busy work, especially the McGraw Hill questions (some of them are long too). When it comes to the rough drafts and final submissions for all the writing assignments, it's not really that bad. The rough drafts and peer reviews are freebie grades, just based on submission (you get randomly put into a group for that particular assignment, post your rough draft, and then peer review everyone else's rough draft in that group). When you submit your final draft, Dr. Illuzada will grade that herself based on the rubric and give you feedback/comments. She can be a pretty tough grader on these, especially for your writing style and how well you communicated things. All final drafts are also auto dumped into Turnitin when you submit it in Canvas. The COIL portion wasn't actually too bad, but it was sorta chaotic. We were partnered randomly into groups composed of both Baylor people and students from South Africa. We did a few discussion posts with them, and then created a one page infographic. Not too difficult, but can be a pain if people in your group don't communicate or participate. All the presentations were done via McGraw Hill, and you'd record something, submit it, and then peer review two other people's submissions. The final project required you to interview a professional, and then make a PowerPoint presentation and record yourself presenting on what you learned from the interview. In terms of AI usage, there are some assignments where she allows you to use it to augment your own work, and some where she doesn't allow you to use it at all. All in all, it's a pretty cut and dry class. It's kinda a pain at times (probably a bit more if you're taking it over the semester), but you should walk through it just fine (especially since they dropped it down from a 3000 level class to a 2000 level class). There are definitely some bad B Comms professors out there, but I'd recommend Dr. Illuzada since she's pretty down to earth and won't try to screw you over. Just show up, do the work, and be done with it.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:BUS 3315 - I LOVEEEEE DR. ILLUZADA AND THIS CLASS!!!! Please disregard everything people said below. Dr. Illuzada is the most intentional teacher I have ever had when it comes to student engagement and getting to know your students personally. She really cares about us and is so kind and generous! The material I actually found to be pretty helpful as well. It was thought provoking and simple but all important. I even enjoyed our grammar tips during the day and she brought me out of my shell to speak in class. She makes us all feel comfortable and I honestly have fun in class! The worst part of this class is it is COIL and a really poorly done COIL. We partner with students in Ukraine which is difficult because they are in an active war zone and we do our weekly meetings on a platform called Breakout Learning. It uses AI to ask questions to ask us and then grade our answers based on how intelligent of a remark it was. That kills all personal connection during our international collaboration and made it such a chore to work with them. Otherwise a great class!  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:3315 - Dr. Iluzada is a very kind and very 'to the book.' If you have people in your class that are fun then the class will be very enjoyable. This whole class is kind of dumb but I will say that I walked away from her's learning something. There is a lot of busy work, but all the other reviews over exagerate it, it's really not that bad. She prepares you better for the 4 C's test better than any other teacher and it is very easy to get an A or A- in her class. There are no tests asides from the deparemtental 4 C's test, and she is very kind  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:BUS 3315 - Take another professor for Business Communications. I took Dr. Iluzada despite her BU Books rating and regretted it. She takes this class way too seriously and can be nit-picky in grading. She also definitely plays favorites and is subjective with her grading. If you raise your hand and participate in class, then she'll reward you with a better grade. But a good teacher wouldn't let their personal opinions get in the way of objectively grading.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:3315 - I love Dr. iluzada. She's such a kind soul and reminds me of my mom. I do agree with everyone else and will say the workload isn't fun, but it's totally doable. By no means is any of it difficult. Take the time to do well on the assignments because they play a big part in your grade, since there's not many exams. And participate in class, she will love and appreciate you for that.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:3315 - I have no idea why Prof Illuzada has such a low rating. She is super easy and so sweet. Yes, there is a good amount of busy work but it was not hard work at all, max took like 5 min to complete. We had one big group project where you write a report with students in your class, along with students in another country (we did it with ppl in India) and it was actually pretty cool. She is such a sweet lady, and every report, presentation, or project I always sent her my work and she always gave me helpful feedback before I turned in my work for her to grade. We had two presentations, like 3 min each and she grades supper easily. The project i mentioned earlier she also graded really easily. this class is such an easy A if you try just a little bit. We have one exam which is 12% of the grade and its in class online, no lockdown browser :) but srsly SUCH AN EASY CLASS i cannot recommend her enough - also side note, you beccome friends with the people in your class because you have to speak out in class but its a good environment so you don't have to be afraid about speaking out loud  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:BUS 3315 - i took her class and did not enjoy being there at all. SO MUCH BUSYWORK for absolutely no reason. i mean you do stuff well and get an a, but with how much time you spend for random assignments, it is not even really worth it. i would take someone else. she also does not prepare you at all for the departmental test...  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2024-07-12

Comments:3315 - This is the only professor that I am leaving a rating for. Take anyone other than her. My friend got stuck with a guy with a 40 something rating, and he was so much better. She grades by throwing darts at a board. If you try your hardest and do your best, then you will get a bad grade, so you get upset and don't try the next time which gets you a better grade. She is petty and does not even go over the main departmental test at all.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2024-04-17

Comments:3315 - I would not recommend taking her. She grades really toughly for no reason. You can edit it for hours and follow her rubric and she will give you an awful grade. There is about 5 assignments a week on top of showing up to class. Only pro to her class is that there is no tests- but honestly i feel like that pro does not outweigh the cons.  - Grade In Class:B

Comments:BUS 3315 - Personally, I gained a ton from Dr. Iluzada's class. I'm a significantly better presenter because of it and I have found that I score incredibly high on other presentations when I put her methods to use. She's unbelievably nice and genuinely wants to see you improve your communication. She's very available if you want her to proofread your work prior to turning it in. That being said, this class can be tough to get an A in. She does grade the writing assignments pretty hard and since an A is a 93, it can be very stressful come the end of the semester. Business Communications is going to be tedious and a much bigger workload than it should be with any professor. You might as well take a professor who's invested in your success and is very personable with her students.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2023-05-25

Comments:BUS 3315 - Takes the class way too serious for what it is. Your entire semester with her she basically pimps you out to do free consulting for a nonprofit org, which would be way cooler if I was getting paid to do it. Her grading is super arbitrary, and she's not helpful in trying to boost up her student's writing skills as much as she cares about a misplaced comma. You have to take the 4 C's departmental exam, which she doesn't prepare you for at all (it's based on a style guide that the business school uses), and she makes it worth 12% of the total grade so a lot of people's grades dropped a lot because of it (don't count on a curve either). You have to do a practice presentation and a presentation to the nonprofit and she bases it on these weird requirements that don't even apply in a business setting and just look weird if you put them into practice. This class is basically just a 3 credit hour 3101 course combined with the speech course we already had to take, so it's not worth actually caring about. Take this class with a grain of salt, it won't help you at all.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2023-05-07

Comments:BUS 3315 - The course is not as important as she thinks it is, she grades hard, and there is an incredible amount of busy work. Don't get me wrong, she cares a lot about the subject and is very well-versed in it. But she makes things a lot harder than it should be and a lot of the topics in the class have been learned in other classes that we've had to take at Baylor. With that being said, the class is more than doable as long as you turn everything in. Just be prepared to be frustrated with this class 24/7 because of how redundant and not-important the content it.  - Grade In Class:B+

Date: 2023-05-03

Comments:3315 - Very arbitrary grading. She will leave you verbal feedback on your assignments, which does not coincide with the grade you receive. A ridiculous amount of work for a communications class. Would avoid.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2022-11-12

Comments:BUS COM 3315 - While this class is incredibly easy, the entire thing seems like a pre-SAT course and a complete waste of time. It is basically a grammar course and she will grade you on a presentation and expect you to be perfect when she does things you "get points off for" all the time. Also, unless you are one of her favorite students, she will not give you the time of day. If you enjoy a professor that grades based on favoritism and makes it clear whether she truly enjoys having you as a student or not (even though I have an A in the class) she will treat you differently.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2022-11-02

Comments:3315 - Don't know why her score is so low. Dr. Iluzada's class is extremely doable. There's a group project that is very "management consulting-y", but other than that, there are no exams and all the Canvas assignments (like Smartbook) are extremely easy.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2022-04-13

Comments:3315 - Good professor. No "tests", just three essays (plus one report in the end that takes some time and isn't as easy). Quizzes are like 1-4 questions over a video (max 25mins), very easy. Required 4C's departmental test but it isn't hard. In summary, shes a kind soul who is never mean and her class isn't difficult if you just put the necessary time during the week.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2021-11-16

Comments:3315 - I don't know how she has such low ratings on here. I think it must be from when she started teaching. The class itself is kind of a joke but she makes it interesting and is super nice. Also, send her your assignments before you turn them in and she will give you feedback and a much better grade.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2021-11-15

Comments:3315 - Do yourself a HUGE favor and take Dr. Iluzada. Her class has to be one of my favorites that I have taken at Baylor so far (and it's not because of the material we are learning). She is an EXCELLENT teacher with the best of intentions. Her expectations are clearly stated and she makes assignment due dates easy to remember. She wants all of her students to succeed and gives them the tools to do so. Please take Dr. Iluzada if you love yourself.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:3315 - Although this is not the most useful class, I think professor Illuzada is does a great job with this course. It is not overly difficult and the workload is low. Would definitely recommend.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:BUS 3315 - Professor Iluzada had great teaching ability. I really enjoyed going to class each day because I thought that her material was practical and useful outside of college. She was very available and helpful. There are no exams, but you have 4 papers or assignments due, each with an increasing amount of weight. The workload is huge, I am not going to lie. You have homework almost every night. Though, each assignment that I did I felt was applicable to my life outside of college. If you are willing to do the work, she is a great professor, and you bond to the people in your class very well.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:Business Communications - I loved Professor Iluzada! I took Bcomm last fall 2018. Business Communications in general at baylor is more work than you would think coming into the course, but Dr. Iluzada really helps you learn and is a good communicator of the material. I would recommend her for sure. Overall, the class is easy if you are willing to put in the work and spend some time working on assignments/projects. It is really not bad at all. Loved her.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:3303 - I took her for Business Communications and she is phenomenal. Be sure to always come to class. Complete the work assigned before you get there. She is extremely respectful, easy to get ahold of, and she goes out of her way to help you. I had to miss class for a couple of days, but I went to her office hours in advance and she still let me complete the participation assignments for full credit. If you are respectful to her, she will be respectful to you! Truly an awesome teacher  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:BUS 3315 - Dr. Iluzada is a nice person, but she is a TERRIBLE professor. Her grading is ridiculous. No matter how much work you put into your assignments, you will never get a high grade. The work load is way too high for a business communications class, and the grading is beyond unfair. Making A's on assignments is a very difficult feat. DO NOT TAKE HER...you have been warned...  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:summer - She is the best professor ever!! I 100% do not recommend listening to the rating below this. She is the best teacher for a study abroad ever! She was incredibly helpful and really encouraged everyone. She gave feedback on anything that we had to do and this was only to help you. She is the absolute sweetest and truly made the study abroad amazing! I would without a doubt take any other class that she teaches. I can guarantee that any bad review does not truly know her and just did not want to put in any effort in the class. She does not choose favorites but encourages and is very nice to every student. She is such an amazing professor, I highly recommend!  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:BUS 3315 - I do not even know where to start. I took business com with her over this summer. I put hours and hours of effort into this course. Spent so much time on the multiple essays. I even did the entire group project for my group. She chooses favorites and gives poor grades to those she does not like. She made the study abroad unenjoyable at times because of how disappointed I was with her grading system. There was little to no communication about what was expected and rubrics were hard to access. Her grading was random and unfair. She is the sole reason I will NOT recommend EBS seminar to any of my peers. She personally sought each student to help and practice their presentation but I got offered nothing of that sort. I even emailed her multiple times asking for help and what to do differently and got no response. I am SO disappointed because this study abroad is bringing DOWN my GPA although I put in so much time/ effort and feel as though I had such quality work. She seems like a nice woman but the entire course confused and disappointed me. She also taught us nothing it was all expected to be learned out of a textbook. I would NOT recommend taking her for a class. Completely prejudice and unfair. Can't help but think if my work was turned in without my name on it then my scores would of been better or at least the same as the rest of the class instead of being one of the lowest.  - Grade In Class:C+

Comments:BUS 3315 - I honestly don't know why there are so many terrible ratings for Dr. Iluzada. She is by far the BEST professor I've ever had at Baylor. She is so sweet, and she genuinely cares about her students! Yes, the writing assignments are hard work, but she is available to help you with all of them! She'll even tell you exactly what she's looking for. I have become a much better writer and speaker because of Dr. Iluzada, so all of the people that are writing terrible reviews probably didn't put any effort into the class. Take her!!! You will learn so much!! You could even make a good friend along the way :)  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:BUS 3315 - To start off, Professor Iluzada is a great person. However, being a great person doesn't give you an excuse to give such an awful workload for what's supposed to be a blowoff class. I've had Financial Accounting and QBA this semester and I've had to work harder for this class than for those two. DO NOT TAKE if you want an easy A.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2017-11-16

Comments:3315 - She is such a great professor, I don't understand what the people below me are talking about. I had her for an online course over the summer. Throughout the summer she would give us detailed feedback on our writings to help us improve and learn from our mistakes. Her lectures were easy to understand and straight forward, while her assignments helped us learn each of the lectures. The class is business writing-- so of course you will have writings to complete. It wasn't hard to make an A in this course as long as you did what was asked of you (which she makes clear from the beginning, and is helpful when you ask questions). Professor Iluzada worked with me on my emails, resumes and cover letters for the class and even offered to help with job applications. It is obvious she really cares about teaching you this information for your career and she makes it easy to learn it. She is sweet, personable, and attentive. I recommend you take her!  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2017-11-15

Comments:BUS 3315 - Worst professor I've ever had. She assigns a bunch of busy work. Especially the final project is way too much work for a fake class. She takes it way too serious. Also I don't know how the heck she got the job she is not a good speaker at all. Hostly probably 80% of my class are better speakers than her. She also has it out against students she doesn't like which unfortunately was me. Don't take her. This is a blow off class for any other professor. For most people, Bus Comm is an easy class to get an A or B. This class is not like that.  - Grade In Class:B

Date: 2017-11-14

Comments:BUS 3315 - This is by far the worst teacher/class that I have had at Baylor. I have put in so much effort to this class and her grading is completely unfair, she will give you a low grade regardless of how much work you have put in. She also expects you to have an hour of homework per night in her class. Her only office hours are at 7 a.m. which is completely unreasonable. She is a nice lady but takes this class way too seriously.  - Grade In Class:B+

Date: 2017-11-06

Comments:3315 - Mrs.lluzada seems like a nice person. I took her over the summer as an online course. She packed the course with an unnecessary amount of work. Then on top of giving excessive work she grades harshly on everything including discussion board comments. Her explanation of what grade she gives you also seems opinionated. Even if you follow the rubric, your grade will surprise you at times . I took an accounting course along with this class had less of a workload in that class then hers.  - Grade In Class:B

Date: 2017-08-05

Comments:3315 - Unreal expectations and large workload for what should be an easy and fun class. Seems like she lacks a lot of real world experience and if she doesn't have the book in front of her don't expect an answer. Very by the book and cannot explain the reasoning behind what she teaches. Class isn't hard but expect a lot of work and tough grading, especially if you aren't one of her favorites (which she for sure has). There are opportunities for extra credit, but include writing more papers and making countless trips to the writing center. An A is attainable in the course, but it will not be enjoyable.   - Grade In Class:A
