Comments:2310 - Dr. Maki is probably the most wonderful professor I have ever had. She is a lovely woman and really loves her students. She is so fun to talk to and treats you as a friend. Her class is so easy but you also learn quite a lot. A lot of the authors I had already read, but even then I was still interested in the material. There is hardly any homework and no exams besides the midterm and final. There are quizzes every few weeks but I promise they are so easy and she often lets you do them in groups. I personally believe she should have a 100 on here. I love her, take her if you can!!  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:2310 - The nicest professor I have had so far during my time at Baylor. The class is an easy A because she understands where students are coming from. We got out of class early pretty much every day and attendance is not part of your grade. There is only one major assignment and it is an essay due at the end of the year.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:2230 - I highly recommend taking her class. She is an amazing professor and works very well with her students. I was worried going into her class that I would have a lot of Homework but she did a good job of spreading it out throughout the week and when we had pages of reading to do we would split it up with the class. You will have to read 2 novels in her class but they are very interesting. If you go to class and pay attention you will get a good grade. She is also good with late work.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:2310 - Maki is super nice and incredibly easy! She often advocates for reading the SparkNotes version of texts. There is barely any homework and it is an easy A. She is a really easy grader for written work and her midterm and final was super easy. She is really easy to talk to and wants her students to do well in her class. She is the nicest!  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:ENG1310 - Dr. Maki is AMAZING! Love this lady! She is always willing to help and really tried to build connections with us even though I took her class online. The class consists of a bunch of small assignments, which are very easy, and then 3 major essays, each one weighted heavier than the last. The essays were long and time-consuming, but Dr. Maki was so helpful in getting us to start them before the last minute. Also, the essay topics are actually FUN because YOU get to choose your topics! Great class, and even better professor!  - Grade In Class:A

I wasn't looking forward to taking a writing class but hers was fun and super helpful! Highly recommend taking her class  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:ENG 1302 - Dr. Maki is one of the coolest professors at BU. I was not looking forward to having to take an English class in college, but she made it fun and interesting, and it felt worthwhile the entire semester.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:ENG 1310 - Dr. Maki is incredible!! She is extremely engaging and makes the class fun and interesting. Workload is very manageable, just a few easy assignments each week and three major essays. It is a very interactive class, where you actually know the names of everyone in your class. My favorite professor at Baylor so far! Take Dr. Maki!  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1310 - Great professor that genuinely cares about her students! In-class meetings were always entertaining because of the energetic nature of Dr.Maki. The workload is very manageable, and most of your grade depends on 3 major essays. You'll regret taking this course with any other professor!  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1310 - Dr. Maki really cares about her students' success both in her class and in life!! There isn't a huge workload- just manageable assignments and 3 essays throughout the whole semester. You have a lot of flexibility with the essays, and Dr. Maki is super available to help! I would 100% recommend taking 1310 and Dr. Maki!  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:ENG 1310 - I would definitely recommend Dr. Maki for ENG 1310. She has a very positive and energetic personality and I am very fortunate to be in her class. Even though classes are all online right now, she is still checking up on students via Zoom call and e-mail. Dr. Maki really wants her students to do well, and will answer any questions you may have regarding an assignment/essay.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:ENG 1310 - Dr. Maki is honestly the best professor I've ever had. I never had any interest in English because its always seen very objective to me and Dr.Maki taught me that I am capable of being a great writer and how to be passionate about what I write. I can say I have become a better writer because of her and Baylor would be MISSING OUT if they lost her as a teacher:) no tests! plenty of time to complete assignments and papers.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1304 - Take her! She is amazing! Dr.Maki is honestly not like the other professors at all, she makes the class super enjoyable. There really is not much homework besides "preparing" for your essays. She is always willing to meet with you if you need help.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:ENG 1310 - Dr. Maki is such a nice professor who genuinely cares for her students. There are only three major essays in the class and reading logs every week but they take the place of quizzes. The class is truly a fun time; you meet other students really easily because she puts the class into groups of 4 people. She always has interactive lessons that make the class enjoyable. Highly recommend taking Dr. Maki!!!  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1302 - Dr. Maki is seriously the sweetest professor I've ever had. I took her both semesters my freshman year and I do not regret it. The class is so much like a family, and you meet so many friends in there. She is always available to talk, whether it be about the class, or just life. Her class is super easy too.  - Grade In Class:B

Comments:1302 - Dr. Maki is by far one of the nicest people I have ever met. I don't even consider Dr. Maki a professor, just a good adult friend. her teaching style uses the whole class, participating helps the students learn in a fun way. Dr. makis class was the only class I have ever looked forward to going to. I would never skip her class because it was such an enjoyable environment. assignments were fairly easy but she helps by doing class kahoots and activities. she is always extremely understanding with late or missed assignments. if you have the opportunity to take her class... DO IT!!!  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1302 - Dr. Maki is great! Her ratings were low at the start of the semester so I was a little worried, but she is DEFINITELY one of the best professors I had. She's aware that her students are likely freshmen and caters the curriculum to that aspect. She is friendly and I actually learned a lot in her class. I expect the skills, tips, and tricks she taught us will be used for the rest of my time at Baylor (and beyond!). Try taking her if you can!  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:ENG 1302 - Dr. Maki is the friendliest and most fun professor you'll get at Baylor. She has the vivacity of a teen and is always trying her best to liven up the dull atmosphere a typical college class can have, and she wants everyone to actively have fun in her class. It's also extremely easy to get an A in her class because she very clearly lays out what you need to do for each assignment and essay to get full credit. She grades her essays fairly easily and she tries to meet with you to let you know how to improve. I took AP Lang and AP Lit in high school and scored 3's on both exams, so honestly I was pretty bummed that I had to take this Eng class, but Dr. Maki made it as painless as this class could've been because honestly the material I learned in this class felt a little juvenile at times. But overall, I love and recommend her, and I'm taking her again next semester as well as almost everyone else who had her first semester.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1302 - best teacher ever. by far my favorite teacher of freshman year. she makes english so fun and creates a class environment that really does feel like a family. this is the only class that i know everyone's name. going to class does not feel like a chore and i did not miss a single class this semester despite me maxing out on absences with 4 of my other classes. maki is the best please take her  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1302 - This class was so easy. Dr. Maki is so relatable and I enjoyed coming to class. She almost always lets us out early. There are assignments for homework because they are required by the department, but they are very easy. There are 6 essays throughout the semester and the final is another in class essay. She grades fairly easy and is very understanding. There are online quizzes in class about the reading, but as long as you somewhat skim the chapter you will be fine. I love the way she does grading. Her whole class is worth 100 points. So if you do a homework assignment you automatically get 1% of your grade. Essays are anywhere from 5 to 15 points. If you don't do very well on an essay though, the homework assignments are easy points to get back. I love Dr. Maki and her class. Please take her.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:ENG 1302 - Well...Dr. Maki is sweet, there's no doubt about that...but she's probably the worst teacher I've had at Baylor. Despite that, her class is a pretty easy A if you have some writing skill. There are no tests, just 5 essays and reading quizzes which can be taken on phones and/or laptops. I watched literally over half the class cheat on these quizzes though by taking photos of the book they were drawn from and having them up on their screen while taking the quiz, and Dr. Maki literally did not even look up from her phone in the front of the room ONCE to bother proctoring the quizzes...which I know is whatever to some people, but just kinda annoying to me since I spent time actually reading for them and would sometimes still miss questions because they were oddly specific and irrelevant to the main point of the chapter. As far as essays, she grades them SUPER vaguely and subjectively (for example she might write something like "could have worded this differently" to which my response would be "well, yes, I suppose I COULD have worded this in infinitely many ways but contrary to your apparent belief, I actually cannot read minds and completely synthesize your own writing style into my papers, so what's actually WRONG with how I wrote this?" [although of course I was less sarcastic in verbalizing this to her ;) ]) But overall, easy class, nice teacher, virtually no new information learned or writing skills developed but hey, I'm a science major so what does it *really* matter?  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1302 - Dr. Maki is a sweet individual. Her workload is manageable and she had a tendency to let us out early if we finished our classwork early. She wasnt really a hard grader but had a few things she was picky about when grading essays. We played Kahoot, looked at articles, and had class discussion. One issue I had with her is that her grading policy was not clear, especially the +,- policy so that caused a lot of confusion when it came time to final grades. Overall her class is easy and enjoyable compared to other boring proffesors   - Grade In Class:A
