Comments:2310 - I had Sillars for a fully online class and I loved it! The assignments were 2 400 word discussion boards, a lecture, and a quiz a week. It was a lot at the beginning but I appreciated the consistency- I never had to guess what was due. His lectures were interesting and I really enjoyed learning from him (and I usually hate english classes). There was a midterm and a final that were not too difficult if you study hard! There's also two close reading assignments that are basically longer versions of the discussion boards. Highly recommend! Wish I could have taken him in person!  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:ENG 1310 - Mr. Sillars was easily my favorite professor this semester. He is awesome! His 1310 class is extremely organized, well thought-out, and truly aimed at progressing your writing skills. I personally am not an English-oriented person, but Mr. Sillars made this class, as well as English in general, enjoyable and meaningful. That being said, ENG 1310 is definitely a class requiring some effort and dedication. There are three units - each with their own essay that typically builds and develops on the previous essay(s). Each unit has its own schedule and associated workload, which can be a lot at times, but by no means is it impossible. In-class discussions are VERY important - as 1310 is a very discussion-led course. ***One disclaimer: I took ENG 1310 during the Spring 2020 semester (the switch to online learning due to Covid-19), so some requirements may be different or can change. Mr. Sillars expects a lot out of his students, but he also does anything he can to help you throughout the course - whether it’s through one-on-one conferences or responding to eMails quickly and meaningfully. He is extremely knowledgeable and is able to clearly communicate his expectations and any material being taught. I cannot recommend Mr. Sillars enough! (:  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1302 - This class is somewhat chill and straightforward. Mr.Sillars is very blunt on what he wants with each essay and prepares you through it. I will tell you that he is a tad of a tough grader but really does helps you become a better writer. I would recommend doing the rewrite of the essay if you do bad on one, and also going to office hours.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1302 - This class should get you an A if actually try. There are homework assignments every class so the workload is a lot but it isn't too stressful. Mr.Sillars is great teacher he brought my class donuts once cause he just wanted to. He is also young so he isn't boring and makes most things interesting. It's pretty hard to fail an essay in his class. The only way you would fail is if you didn't do it or you didn't make it long enough. Overall I recommend Mr.Sillars for Eng 1302.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1304 - Mr. Sillars is a great professor! I loved being in his class. This is not a slack off class as you have homework before every class but it is always a short reading or some small writing assignments that are helpful for your next paper that you have to turn in. Attendance does count in this class as he will start deducting grade points if you miss more than four times.  - Grade In Class:A
