Comments:1305 - The only reason I got an A in bio 1305 is because I had taken ap bio the semester before. She is hard to understand at first, but you get used to it. I never bought the textbook and just studied her lecture slides and went to SI. Her SI's are good and will make the difference in your grade. Honestly an easy workload since there was no homework and the quizzes were optional. I would take her if you have some bio background to begin with  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2024-04-18

Comments:BIO 1305 - Everyone fails her exams. The class average was 60 and she would always claim to give no extra credit, then bump everyone's grade up 10 points. I feel like I didn't learn anything from the class, but it's not hard to get a good grade. Studying is kind of pointless.  - Grade In Class:B+

Date: 2024-04-16

Comments:Genetics - I took Luna for BIO 1305 and I got a D. I was terrified that I had to take her once again for Genetics. She does have an accent but it is not difficult to understand. To be completely transparent her lectures were long and sometimes I would leave completely lost. I failed the first two exams HORRIBLY but thanks to SI and my own efforts I was able to pull off a B. She has a quiz for every chapter and it is worth 1% of your grade. (LITERALLY NOTHING). Your grades will be solely based on your 4 exams and the final. My advice to you is to read the book and go to SI. Luna is not the best lecturer but she is not a "terrible professor". She is an OKAY professor but I will say her lectures are pretty pointless. Genetics is a hard class, but if you dedicate a good amount of time to this class you can do good. (Also don't rely on her curves because for my section our exams were never curved).  - Grade In Class:B

Comments:2306 - Cinco, cuatro, tres, dos, uno, cicicerenpol. Jello Jelly Jello, the most prominent words you will hear in this class. Do you like being screamed at in class for over an hour? Do you like the most pointless material in existence. Do you like suffering biweekly. This class meets all these requirements. She is a monolingual speaker in Spanish only. She has the most pointless lectures. You will learn nothing from listening to her speak. The way to do well in this class is to avoid paying attention in lecture and instead read the book cover to cover. Also, she is a heavy promoter of glizzy gobbling. The sorority girls in class will give you a mouthful of their stupid fucking questions. For example "phosphate is nonpolar, right?" Lastly, you will wastet a ungodly 45 minutes per week on active learning. They give you the easiest questions known to mankind and spend eternity explaining how to do the problems like this will help me do better on the fucking exam. The only decent thing is the drop exam and the fact that the exams are pretty easy. Dr. Luna serves no purpose in this course, you can take this course alone and do better then being in the class. The biggest pain in my ass and waste of time for a semester.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1305 - Lectures: In the beginning, Dr.Luna's lectures were my least favorite. I found her difficult to follow and understand, but honestly, that was probably just nerves for it being my first semester. After a while, you do get into the rhythm of her lectures, but she's still not the best lecturer you're gonna get. Workload: Dr.Luna doesn't assign homework, but I highly suggest reading the book before her lectures. Like I said before she's not the best lecturer, so if you don't read the book before class it can be difficult to know what she's talking about. Helpfulness: Every time I went to office hours she tried her best to explain things. May not have been great, but she truly does care for you. Exams: Your grade is made up of 4 exams and a final. You get one grade drop. Seems daunting at first, but Luna gives you a lot of extra credit assignments through quizzes and other things, so stay on top of that. She also curves an INSANE amount (like taking a 75 to a 90) which is probably the reason why I'd take her class again. Overall I really like Dr.Luna as a person and professor. She may not be the best lecturer, but she is such a sweet lady. She's low-key sassy but that keeps the class interesting. Tips: don't come in late or she'll probably give you a stink eye or make a comment. Also, don't buy a clicker. Just download the app on your computer.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:BIO 1305 - DO NOT TAKE HER!!! terrible professor, cannot understand her! I went into her office hours to go over a test and she asked if I had a learning disability!!! Worst prof. I've had at baylor by far.  - Grade In Class:DROP

Date: 2023-12-08

Comments:1305 - Dr. Luna\'s class is very straight forward. You just need to read the book based on her slides, memorize it using active recall, take the LA practice test before the exam and you are pretty much guaranteed an 85+ raw. Not to mention that she also curves and give out a bunch of extra credits through quizzes. Her lecture is very engaging as she is the presenter type, however, her slides are useless and you need to take notes from the book. Her SIs are also very good at explaining stuff too if you need help with a concept. Overall, to do good in Dr Luna's class, you just need to take notes from the book based on the slides and memorize it.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2023-12-13

Comments:BIO 2306 - Dr. Luna is not a terrible lecturer, and her exams are pretty straight-forward. However, she is rarely available for students outside of class. I have gone to her designated office hours multiple times, and each time she has cracked the door open, smiled, and then explained why she was too busy for me. Taking Dr. Luna is not a horrible option if professor availability is not important to you. However, personally, I would not take her again. She is one of those professors that people either really like or really don\'t. (PRO TIP: Watch the Tricky Topic videos on Canvas. For one exam, I was unable to attend most of the lectures due to some personal circumstances. All I did in terms of prep was watch those videos and I got a B+ on that exam.)  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2023-12-08

Comments:BIO 2306 - I would go to Luna's lectures since she takes out slides from the ones on Canvas so you need to take lots of pictures in class. I highly recommend following the study guides she provides, reading the textbook, and filling out that study guide as you go. She gives lots of extra credit opportunities but don't miss the due dates for them, she won't allow any extensions for EC obviously. Do a practice quiz every other day or so, she gives extra credit for doing them, too. The LAs and SI provide worksheets/practice tests and other exercises that helped a lot. Try to read the textbook topics the night before she does the lecture on it, and it'll be a lot more helpful. Do not talk in class or be on your phone. There are some clicker questions that you can answer throughout her lectures for attendance.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2023-08-08

Comments:BIO 1306 - She was definitely engaging and fun to learn biology from. Her tests were difficult at first, but she mainly follows learning objects to write the test, so it was pretty easy to learn and do well.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2023-07-19

Comments:BIO 2306 - DO NOT TAKE HER!!!!! She is actually very rude and she does not care about her students. She gets mad and offended in class when she talks about her reviews on BUBOOKS. I have usually not disliked any of my classes or professors, but this class was not my favorite. Genetics was fun and interesting to learn, but just the person that taught it made the class worse than it needed to be. Also, she was never in office hours which was annoying and she never responded to any of my emails. Do not take her, trust me. I am trying to help you here from hurting your GPA, your ears and braincells.  - Grade In Class:B

Date: 2023-05-18

Comments:2306 - BIO 2306 Genetics. Dr. Luna is great! There is a TON of material to learn for each test and the final is cumulative. The class is really not that bad if you keep up with the reading and start studying at least a week before the test. There is a lot of extra credit opportunities and ALL the tests are curved. Dr. Luna is a very nice lady and honestly cares about ALL of her students.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2023-05-15

Comments:BIO 2306 - The material for Genetics really was not too bad. HOWEVER, if you ever wanted to go to office hours. SHE WAS NEVER THERE. I waited outside her office several times for 2 hours along with other students, and she never showed up nor did she ever email us about not being there. I would email her after saying that I was waiting outside her office, and she would never respond to the emails. So just know, if you EVER need to email her she will NOT respond. Also, her accent is extremely thick and hard to understand. Before I joined her class, I read the other BUBOOKS reviews talking about her accent and I was like, "oh, it can't possibly be that bad" but it is that bad. It is so hard to understand that it comes to a point where you can't even depend on her teaching; you have to just rely on the textbook and her 8 LA's and 1 SI. Oh by the way, she uses like 8 LA's (Learning Assistants) to teach her class. Also, she gets mad in class if you do not say anything and will threaten the entire class won't get attendance credit if you do not say anything when she is talking. Also, she is just very rude in general. She is not personable AT ALL. do not take her. trust me. most professors try to help, but she does not and is flat out rude. and in class she always talks about her BUBOOKS reviews and her course evaluations and she gets mad and salty about it  - Grade In Class:C

Date: 2023-05-14

Comments:BIO2306 - She is very funny, but am not a fan of her powerpoint. She has practically no words on them so you really have to focus in class and write nites as she lectures. Your grade is entirely dependent upon your 4 tests (one that she will drop) and a final (all weighted the same). There is a lot of outside help though. If you do not succeed in the class it is probably from a lack of effort. With enough desire, you can absolutely get an A in this class. There is about 8 LA's which have office hours throughout the week and take over class on fridays. Moreover, there's an SI who provides a ton of extra learning supplements too. Luna is very nice, funny, loves what she teaches, and loves to teach. I just really did not enjoy how the power points are set up. I suggest reading the textbook, but it is definitely not required in order to get an A (although she says it is in the beginning of the year). Just pay attention in class!  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2023-05-04

Comments:BIO 2306 - Luna is first and foremost very passionate about biology and genetics, and is a very funny and charming person. As for how she teaches, sometimes it can be a bit iffy. While some will blame her accent (it's really not that bad), I think it stems from her very rapid pace and unhelpful PowerPoints. They are very vague and undetailed, so if you miss class or are looking back to review for an exam, you'll struggle to grasp the entire concept that slide is presenting. She also uses a microphone and talks loudly herself, which can make for a headache of a lecture sometimes. That being said, her exams are very fair and will never cover something you have not learned or heard her say. She also curves a fair amount and doesn't factor in questions that everyone gets wrong. She has a large group of LAs and SIs that provide lots of helpful material, as well as several opportunities for extra credit, so if you get a bad grade in this class, it is honestly on you. Also, the entirety of your grade is the 4 highest of the 5 exams. I would definitely recommend Luna for genetics.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2023-05-02

Comments:2306 - Dr. Luna would be more at home in a seventh-grade classroom than inside a BSB lecture hall. She believes she can dictate technology usage in her classroom, as well as take up devices when things are not going her way. I relied entirely on SI and LA resources to succeed in her class, as her powerpoints were vague and unhelpful. Overall, I would recommend this professor only if you are wanting to re-live your middle school years and enjoy wasting time in an unproductive classroom setting.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2023-04-07

Comments:Genetics 2306 - Luna is a great person. Average teacher though. She is extremely helpful during office hours and you can sit there for as long as you want and ask her questions and she will try her hardest to make sure you understand every single one. She has 4 exams and one final - each worth 25% of your grade. She gives straightforward study guides on every unit we cover and exam material only comes from the study guide. Her lectures might be terrible and spotty but her exams come straight from the text book, if you use the study guide and read the text book and understand it thoroughly, there is no reason to not do well in this class. She also gives an extra credit quiz every week which adds one point to yout overall exam score for that unit which is very very helpful - you usually get 4-5 more points because of that. take Luna if you are willing to put in the work.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:2306 - Genetics is hard. Dr. Luna is hilarious, but she's not a great teacher. I took her for bio and should've learned my lesson. love her tho. study  - Grade In Class:C

Comments:BIO 1305 - If you want to do well in Luna’s BIO 1305 class, you’ve got to study. That’s it. If you review the material from the book and use her slides as a guide for what to study, you are guaranteed an A. Her grade breakdown is 4 exams (one drop) and one final (can’t drop that), making each exam worth 25% of your grade. Her tests are EASY if you prepare off the book, use her slides as a template for what you should study, and do the extra credit. If you feel uneasy with Bio, I’d suggest taking a professor with more point opportunities so that everything isn’t balancing on your tests. Other than that, Luna is a very sweet teacher who clearly likes her students! Her accent is NOT a problem and she’s pretty available. I can wholeheartedly say that the people who dislike Luna either relied on the wrong materials to study or didn’t study at all. Take Luna! :)  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:BIO 2306 - I was worried about taking Luna for Genetics after hearing all of the failure stories last year, however her class this semester (f22) has been fantastic. She is a very engaging professor and is clearly passionate about what she is teaching, and it makes you want to care about what she's saying too. I didn't feel as though this class required too much outside of class studying as long as you were fully paying attention during class and go to at least one SI session a week. Your grade in the class is entirely comprised of exams, and you get one drop. She offers frequent extra credit quizzes on canvas which were my greatest tool for studying for her exams, DO THEM. During class, she does clicker questions testing confusing concepts, TAKE PICTURES OF THESE! They often turn up on the exam. Occasionally, her LAs will do a segment at the end of class where they put up practice questions and simplify topics in their own words, which I sometimes found helpful. Overall, Luna is a kind woman, however she does not have much sympathy for people who don't put in the effort, so it is hard to expect much slack from her. She's an incredibly intelligent woman and very funny, and if you ask her a question in office hours she will give you her 100% to make sure you understand. I am glad to have taken her these past two semesters for both 2306 and 1306.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2022-11-28

Comments:BIO 2306 - There is no way you cannot enjoy Luna’s class. If you follow her advises, you will learn, laugh, and get an A. Take pictures of her clicker quizzes and answer every single question she posts in Canvas. You will see many of those questions in the exam. I have heard a lot of people complaining about Luna’s exams, but I have taken her in 1305, 1306, and 2306 Genetics. And I would take her again if she offers any other upper-level class.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2022-08-03

Comments:BIO 1306 - Those students that complain about Dr. Luna are just very lazy to study. I'm taking her in BIO 1306 this Summer, and during all the summer she was checking how we were doing, what we needed, how to help us. She knew each one of us by name! Her jokes, energy and passion for Biology inspires me so much. She provides her power points (very few teachers do that!), gave us study guides (super detailed docs but great summaries) with all the important information for the exam. Dr. Luna offers a ton of extra credit for each exam! She is a delightful person, and her accent is beautiful and elegant.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2022-08-03

Comments:BIO 1306 - She is not a great teacher by any means, everything is straight out of the textbook though so studying is not bad at all. just lots of material for the course itself. her attendance policy is strict and her accent makes it hard to understand and comminicate with her. the tests are multiple choice and she does not give homework  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2022-08-04

Comments:BIO 1306 - I took her over the summer (5 week class). She's amazing. I used to fall asleep in 1305 and now I actually listen to her talk and she engages students in class by asking questions and making jokes. The workload is completely manageable, I'd say read the textbook after every lecture so gaps in your knowledge get filled in. She's always available in office hours and will explain anything. Grading wise, I would say she's so much nicer than any teacher I've met. Tests: there's 4 of them (1 will be dropped), and these three tests that count make up 75% of the grade. The other 25% is the final exam (can't be dropped). She offers anywhere from 3-6% extra credit for every test, which is generous. Her accent is not an issue at all, I would 100% take her again if I had a choice. Just read the textbook and listen to her in class, you're nearly guaranteed a 100% on her tests.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2022-08-02

Comments:1306 - You have to read the book chapters before lecture if you want to succeed. Lecture should be a time to clarify anything you didn't understand while you read. Basically, don't do what I did. I didn't read the book before class at all and my grades definitely suffered because of that. This class is a lot of rote memorization, it doesn't involve a lot of processes and cycles like 1305. I had Oladapo for 1305 and took Luna for a change. I regret that and I wish I had taken Oladapo again. Dr. Luna is a sweet person, don't get me wrong-I've said hi to her a few times in Penland. But, she lectures fast. My advice: you will reap what you sow. Put in the work, and you should get a decent grade.  - Grade In Class:B

Date: 2022-05-26

Comments:BIO 1306 - Professor Luna is a sweet lady, but her lectures were not that helpful for exams. Although her office hours are helpful, she'll tell you exactly what to focus on. There are five exams (one can be dropped) then the final (cumulative). But if I took this class again I would have taken Oladapo, it's not that Luna is bad it's just that her lectures were not that helpful.   - Grade In Class:B+

Date: 2022-05-16

Comments:BIO 1306 - It makes me very sad to see people comment so poorly on Dr. Luna’s teaching ability and accent. I found her accent fun and helpful when needing to remember something. Plus, reading the book shouldn’t have an accent, so it’s probably not her accent that’s causing learning issues. Dr. Luna is incredibly sweet and quite funny. She cracks a lot of jokes during class. Her tests come straight from the PowerPoint (for the most part), so as long as you flashcard the material, you’ll be fine. I would recommend reading the textbook before class, as it helps tremendously with learning the new material. Dr. Luna was also very sweet during office hours. She was always very welcoming and open to any question that was asked. I am taking her for genetics this next semester, and I cannot wait to be in her classroom again. Take Dr. Luna for biology!  - Grade In Class:B

Date: 2022-05-15

Comments:Biology 1305/1306 - I had Dr. Luna for both semesters of Biology and these rating do not resemble her actual teaching abilities. I did not take AP biology in high school nor had I taken any biology since my freshman year of high school and was just fine. Dr. Luna truly cares about her students, and her accent is very easy to understand. She is always available during her office hours, and you can always stay behind after class to ask any questions you need to ask. Her lectures are very engaging and she offers a lot of extra credit. Her slides however do not resemble what you need to know for the test, you need to read to text book and go to SI. Biology in general is a hard course, they call it a weed out course for a reason, but taking this course with Dr. Luna is a positive experience and what you put in will always resemble in the grade you receive. Her test are not tricky, you just have to memorize a lot of things and know a lot of concepts. Take Dr. Luna.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2022-05-12

Comments:1306 - Dr.Fernandez was great for the first exam and then it just went downhill from there. Her teaching style and testing strategies completely changed. It was very difficult to figure out what she was going to ask because what she focused on in class was not what was on the exams. You have 5 in-class exams and a final, she drops your lowest in-class exam and the final is cumulative. I would avoid if you can but if you have no choice just make sure you read the entire chapter before going to class. She offers some extra credit but not much. She takes attendance every day and gives clicker questions that are much easier and not helpful for exams. Overall would not recommend taking her. Her Si was amazing and was the only reason I passed.  - Grade In Class:D

Date: 2022-05-10

Comments:bio 1306 - cannot understand a word she says. The notes she posts in canvas are not the same as the ones she goes over in class. Only grades are tests, do bad and you're screwed. Test questions are sometimes on topics she doesn't even go over. Awful teacher  - Grade In Class:B

Date: 2022-05-05

Comments:1306 - I've taken Luna for 2 semsters and am about to take her for 2 more because I love her so much. Yes the accent takes a bit to get used to but she is literally the sweetest. The only grades are exams which are worth 25% of your grade each so if you don't test well don't take it. But the tests are directly from the slides so just flashcard and you WILL get an A, she also offers a bunch of extra credit so do it.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2022-04-29

Comments:1306 - 5 exams and a final. No hw but the occasional quiz (4-5 total throughout the semester) for .5 or a point of extra credit. Knowlegdable but goes directly off the PowerPoints. PowerPoints in class sometimes differ than the ones online because they will have more information. You have to read the textbook in this class to get a good enough understanding for the exams because her questions can be pretty specific. She also requires clickers which are a waste of $75 if you buy the actual one so get the online version on your phone if you take her. nice lady overall  - Grade In Class:B+

Date: 2022-04-25

Comments:BIO 1306 - I think Dr Luna is a fairly average professor. As an individual, she is a very kind person and is always willing to help. She has convenient office hours and is flexible if you want to meet outside her posted hours. Unfortunately bio is a difficult subject, at least in my opinion, and I think any professor will have a tough course. But I think Dr Luna makes it even harder than it needs to be. She often gets off on tangents during lectures that are not relevant to the power points and her test are difficult! Her tests are neither from the textbook or from her power points, they are a combination of both. Luckily she highlights all important vocab in red on power points but her tests are application questions, not simple definitions or matchings, so make sure you know it front and back. There also may be a bit of a language barrier, she has a defined accent but it isn't too strong. I wouldn't advise to stay away from her, but be prepared to work hard!! Also, definitely go to SI. They are so helpful.  - Grade In Class:C

Date: 2022-04-08

Comments:1305 - This class wasn't horrible but requires a lot of work. The only grades are 4 test grades and she'll replace your lowest test grade with your final if it is higher. The only way I was able to make an A is by busting my butt for the final and that was able to replace one of my lower test grades. Her classes are straight lectures from her powerpoint. She goes through material super fast so it is hard to take notes, I'd recommend reading through the textbook before class so you can just solely pay attention to her lecture. I felt like the tests were a bit tricky, but fair. They require knowledge of the material but also critical thinking skills. She wasn't my favorite teacher but not awful! Read the textbook, go to SI, and be diligent with keeping up with the material!  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2022-04-01

Comments:Bio 1305/1306 - Ok so I took Luna for bio 1305 and she is a very nice person. I worked my butt off in that class and only ended with a B because I killed it on the final. On average, I got in the 70s for most tests and I studied for a full week leading up to the tests. I went to the SI sessions and I read the textbook. Hardly any information for the tests are on the slides, it is all in the textbook. Her class took up about 70% of my time because I studied so much for it. The only reason I did well on the final was because I studied about 3 weeks in advance leading up to the exam. I promise you I am a hard worker and when I was reading her reviews in the beginning of the year, I undermined how much these people were actually studying and my ego got in the way and I thought I would be different. I did well in high school and I genuinely have never found a teacher as bad as Luna. Her tests are impossible if you aren't just naturally gifted in biology. In my opinion, having a strong work ethic isn't enough for her class. You need to have a good foundation of the material and use critical thinking to answer the questions on her tests. This is not like any biology where you can expect to do well by just memorizing the material. I then made the mistake of taking her again for the next semester because I did well on her final so I assumed I finally started to understand her tests. I did not and it is safe to say that this woman destroyed my interest in science this semester. I had to drop it because it was bringing down my gpa and I knew it was not going to get better. I am upset that I am no longer pursuing the science path, but I think it is for the best. Save yourself the torture, take another teacher. She does not give homework it is only tests and there is no extra credit unless she gives it to the whole class which is rare. So if you do not do well on the tests, you are screwed. If you really want to take her, be my guest but you have been warned.  - Grade In Class:B

Date: 2022-03-16

Comments:2306 - She is a good prof, and I hold my word to that, although, genetics is a really difficult course. If you get to know her you run into the risk of being called on in class and its a bit intimidating infront of an atrium of students. Genetics is hard, but she give no resources to focus on for the test, everything is very generalized.  - Grade In Class:DROP

Date: 2022-01-25

Comments:1305 - This is a hard class of course! But I genuinely loved Dr. Luna. I would take her again. Yes, she has an accent as everyone seems to love to mention it, but I think all of those reviews are a little dramatic. She is wicked smart and her office hours are amazing. Just read the textbook word for word and go to SI. Her tests are fair and are not meant to trick you. Take her! :)  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2021-12-30

Comments:BIO1305 - I really liked Dr. Luna. Her lectures are an overview of the material and cover everything that will be on the test. She posts the powerpoints; however, those alone are not enough to study from. You will have to teach yourself from the textbook just because the class is so fast-paced and for reviewing for the test. Her test questions are very fair considering the amount of material covered. Dr. Luna has a strong accent, but if you are generally able to understand accents or have taken some Spanish you will be fine. One thing to note about this class is that there is no homework and no quizzes to pad your grade, it is only the four exams. She offers a few points of extra credit per unit as well. Overall, I would recommend her as a professor for bio1305 if you have enough motivation to read the textbook and do work on your own.  - Grade In Class:B

Comments:bio 2306 genetics - unfortunately, genetics is just a really hard class so it is difficult to separate what aspects were just the level of material and what aspects were dr luna -- but having dr luna as a prof is not a death sentence for your gpa! yes she does not have hw but she will replace your lowest exam with the final if it benefits you, and that policy changed my letter grade. she LOVES application questions so make sure you don't just know the material but can explain it. i would recommend taking a picture of the clicker questions she does in class, even if you get it right, just to see the level she asks about. do practice problems! the tests are fairly short -- only about 30-35 questions so you need to expect application and recall fast. i never went to office hours but she is def a sweet person who can come off intimidating. another piece of advice- go to SI to solidify the material so you can progress to application.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:2306 - STAY AWAY!! i am an A student and i received my very first C because of her! her lectures are horrible and her test are insanely hard! there are only 3 exams and the final! save ur GPA and do not take  - Grade In Class:C

Comments:1305 - Personally I would not recommend. There are 3 exams and a final which is cummulative as well as has new material on it, so extremely hard. There is no attendence or homework grade so your only grade is whatever you make on the exam. I also was not a fan of her style of teaching. She only read off of the powerpoints and half of the time just made the topics more confusing, so to do really well you need to spend a lot of time outside of class to relearn the material she taught in class. This is a hard class and I understand that, but I think she made it way harder than it needed to be.  - Grade In Class:F

Comments:1305 - I really wish I would've put in a lot more effort at the beginning of the semester because you get out of this class EXACTLY what you put in. There's no homework and the textbook is easy to read, but don't let that fool you into thinking you don't need to study if you understand the material. Go to SI, go to office hours, and do any extra credit she offers because she is VERY good at writing exams that test your understanding. That being said, if you're gonna slack in one area, make it the lectures. They're all straight from the book, posted on Canvas, and she lectures right off the slides so you can totally get away with skipping a few times if you go to SI that night. The only grades are tests, which some people don't like but I didn't mind it since she replaces your lowest grade with the final if it's higher. Her accent is fine and people need to stop being dramatic about it. She's sweet and clearly loves biology. I'm taking her again for 1306 since I feel like I can do better now that I understand her teaching style.  - Grade In Class:B

Comments:2306 - If you want to learn Biology/Genetics, take Dr. Fernandez-Luna. She only tests on what is on her slides and explicitly states that. You can ask the most random question in class or in her office hours and she is more than happy to answer you (I've gone in to her office hours and I really wish I would've gone in sooner). I know some of these responses say that there is a language barrier but let me tell you, not only does Dr. FL have the ability to teach genetics but she also has a complex knowledge of genetics that she is able to communicate in English and in Spanish (I know I can't do that, can you?). Her accent isn't a factor at all, you can easily understand exactly what she is saying. Anyone on here that blames her for their grade likely doesn't come to lecture and doesn't read the textbook. I'm getting a B in the course because of my own bad study skills, not because of Dr. FL's teaching. Don't fall prey to students blaming an absolutely wonderful professor for their inability to succeed. I'm a Biology major, and Dr. Fernandez-Luna has made me fall in love with Biology even more and I've only ever felt supported by her as a professor. PLEASE go to her office hours to get to know her, she wants nothing more than for you to succeed.  - Grade In Class:B

Comments:1305 - Do not take her class. Coming from someone who is a BIO major, I have never struggled more in a class. She doesn’t teach in class what she actually puts on the tests. If you ask her a question in class she is horrible at answering it, probably because she just doesn’t understand. The accent barrier is horrible, I have taken Spanish my entire life but this is impossible. A general intro level bio class should not be taught by someone who can not speak english very well. Literally get any other professor but her, this class gives me so much stress because the only grades are 3 exams then i final, it’s terrifying! DO NOT TAKE HER.  - Grade In Class:D

Comments:2306 - Dr.Luna is a very nice lady but her class is awful. She does not teach any of the material that will be tested on. There is no cushion for the grades either, only exams. I genuinely hated her class more than any other I have taken at Baylor. DO NOT TAKE HER FOR 2306  - Grade In Class:B

Comments:BIO 1305 - Dr. Fernandez-Luna is awful. I guess people might say she’s a nice person, but she’s a terrible professor. I don’t care if this is a “weed out” course you don’t tell your students if they’re struggling in your class to jump ship. She’s discouraging, she will ignore your emails, and overall does not care about you. Your only grades are tests that are not easy, in fact the entire class averaged a 60 on a test with a six point curve and extra credit and she yelled at US. Just stay away.  - Grade In Class:B

Comments:BIO 1401 - Dr. Luna is the sweetest lady I've ever met. She genuinely cares about her students and wants everyone to succeed. Her class consisted of 4 tests, the lab, and extra credit in-class attendance quizzes. All of the questions on the test come straight from her power points. She always understood that we were not biology majors and constantly offered to help us when we were confused. Take Luna!!  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1305 - There is virtually no homework for this course. She lectures the entire class time start to finish. Here slide shows don't have many words on them so you can rely on those for notes or a strong understanding. She does though teach straight from the text, read each chapter and the tests tend to be pretty easy. She is very enthusiastic and truly has a heart for Biology. Her accent is very thick and with the masks it becomes hard to understand what she is saying. Also if she is making an analogy for a biological system or anything really tune it out. She just confuses herself and the whole class with her.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1305/1306 - There is no homework in this class with only 4 exams and a final. She is a funny lady who would make me laugh in class. All she does in class is go over the powerpoint that she posts with only slightly more detail, so there's really no point in going to class minus the review. She does have an accent that I think people make too big a deal of, most of the time you can figure out what she's saying. I think she's the easiest of all the bio profs I've heard of so far  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1305 - I absolutely love Dr. Fernandez! She is a really good professor and teaches well. I will note her accent takes a bit getting use to, but it is not bad at all. She replaces your lowest grade with the final, and has consistent office hours and often offers more office hours during a test week. She really wants the best for her and she genuinely cares for you and loves what she teaches. I am not great at biology, but I cannot recommend her enough, TAKE HER!  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1305 - Dr. Luna is so nice and fun! She is super approachable and loves biology. She is very open to questions and always takes the time to go back and explain something if someone is confused. It is easy to see that she is very knowledgeable in biology and doesn't take herself too seriously. She is very passionate about biology, which helps to make the class very interesting and engaging!! Comments:1305 - BIO 1305/1306 - Dr. Fernandez-Luna is such a phenomenal teacher!!. Dr. Fernandez-Luna explained the topics very concisely, making it easy to digest the material. She teaches the topics several times in different ways so the students understand. A lot of people that give her bad reviews on here are the same people that were too lazy to just do the readings on time. The syllabus states that she will test what is on the lecture slides, and the slides are taken directly from the book. This means that as long as you are caught up on the reading before each test, you will do very well. Also, all of her tests are multiple-choice. If you want to end up loving biology please take her!!!  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2020-06-06

Comments:BIO 1401 - Her accent is very hard to understand but she really wants her students to know what she is teaching and always loved questions in class. She is funny but strict, the exams are your only grades except for lab and they are pretty hard. The clicker quizzes only get you an extra point if you need it to get another letter grade and you didn't need to read the material to get them correct. The lab was very difficult, however, and nothing was taught but you were expected to know the entire next lab and concepts behind it for the quiz at the beginning of class.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2020-06-01

Comments:1306 - First off, she's not as great as everyone says she is. The students who say “Oh she’s great!” were probably just her favorite students vouching for her. Her accent is difficult to understand, to say the least. My friends told me “oh you’ll get used to it,”... you don’t. The powerpoints she posts online are half blank and they don’t represent the amount of information you actually have to know for the test. The clicker quizzes are also not helpful for the test because the questions are much simpler and straight forward compared to those on the test. When school went online because of COVID, I was told that the recorded lectures were her reading directly from the book. I wasted so much time listening to all the lectures and trying to catch everything she said, when I could have simply read the textbook. On the final, there were questions on it that I don’t even remember covering in class. She may be a nice person, but she’s definitely not the best professor for biology. Pick a different professor.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:BIO1306 - Dr. Fernandez-Luna is awesome. She made biology easy to learn hard concepts. I could not be more pleased with the way that Dr. Fernandez-Luna has adapted to this transition that COVID-19 has thrown. Comments:BIO1306 - Dr. Fernandez-Luna is a fantastic teacher and super helpful with any questions you have. She is very excited to teach every class; from being in her class it's obvious Dr.Luna is passionate about what she is teaching and about the success of her students. She made an effort to know all of our names and to make the class a positive and encouraging place. Throughout having to switch to online instruction she has been very communicative with all of us and has made all our coursework EASILY accessible. I would take one of Dr. Luna's classes again!  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1401 - I was expecting this class to be a lot easier, but it was actually kind of hard. You really have to pay attention in class and listen to her lectures, but I had a hard time understanding what she was saying because of her accent. Also, she makes you buy a clicker for attendance and if you're 2 minutes late to class, you won't be able to check in. She closes the polls as soon as class starts. If you go into her office hours, she isn't very helpful and she makes you feel dumb. The labs are pretty easy, but the weekly quizzes the TA gave us were hard. The TA expected us to know information from the unit and we never went over them during lectures until a couple days after the lab so that was always frustrating.  - Grade In Class:B+

Comments:1305/1306 - Dr. Fernandez-Luna is THE professor to take for both 1305 and 1306! She is probably the sweetest, most caring professor you will ever get the chance of taking. She genuinely wants to help you succeed. Both of these classes are challenging and she definitely does not baby you but you will learn so much from her. Other professors are either ridiculously difficult or too easy and you will not benefit as much from their classes. Her tests are 40 multiple choice questions and are only based on her power points and lecture, I literally never read the book and made As in both 1305 and 1306. She has in class clicker quizzes that only count towards extra credit and are great tests of knowledge. She offers great extra credit opportunities! TAKE HER  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:BIO 1305 - Such an amazing prof. The class is challenging, but getting the grade you want is so doable. She posts her powerpoints, and the only grades in the class are the exam grades. There are clicker quizzes that can give you points added to your final exam which are really helpful. She also does random extra credit throughout the semester for little group projects and class participation.. all voluntary. She LOVES what she is teaching and genuinely wants her students to succeed. Would take her again if I could.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1305 - Dr. Fernandez is extremely kind and passionate. She loves biology and she loves her students. Her class is tough, especially if you didn’t take AP bio in high school, but if you put in the time studying the textbook you will do well. My biggest advice would be to always over study for her exams and start studying for the final EARLY. SI honestly didn’t help as much as just sitting down and studying the textbook did. There’s not much extra credit but she replaces the lowest exam with your final grade (if it’s better). I recommend her class because you have no other option than to learn the material, and it is very helpful down the road.  - Grade In Class:B+

Comments:BIO 1305 - Dr. Fernandez was an excellent professor. She was always available for you to come in and ask questions. Her tests were not easy, but if you studied the material given you will do well. She does not try to trick you or mislead you during the test or in preparation for the test. I struggled with ap bio in high school, but Dr. Fernandez made it easier to understand and enjoyable to learn.  - Grade In Class:B

Comments:1305 - Dr. Fernandez deserves a far better rating. I was anxious after seeing her previous ratings but she is by far my favorite professor. I can tell you honestly that her tests are extremely fair, she is more than eager to help in office hours, and she is just a very sweet person. You will have to put in effort to know the material in order for the tests to be fair, but that's a given in a college biology class. I'm registered to take her for 1306 and highly suggest her!  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1305 - Luna is the best professor I had all semester. Her tests are extremely fair and I was able to strengthen my understanding of Biology in her lectures. I would highly recommend taking her regardless of your science background or previous understanding.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:BIO1305 - Dr. Fernandez-Luna deserves a better rating on this website. She is a genuinely nice person who cares about the success of her students. If you take notes on the slides before class and then follow along as she goes over them you will do well in this class. She does not assign homework like a lot of other teachers. The tests are difficult but if you go to SI and study for longer than just one night before the exam you will do well. Our class average for the first exam was an 86, which is really high to be honest. Our second exam average was a 70, but it was a much harder concept. She ended up "curving" it 8 points by giving almost everyone 3 extra credit points and getting rid of two questions. I am bad at biology and am most definitely changing my major. The first exam I got a 67 on... and this past exam I got an 80.5. I am definitely on the lower average of the class but she ends up replacing your lowest exam grade with your final grade if it is higher so that is nice of her. If you don't take notes or try and take notes during class you will not do well. If you put in effort you will do well. She is a fair teacher and the grade you get is entirely up to you.  - Grade In Class:C

Comments:1305 - She is literally the worst teacher you could have. She goes way to fast and shes not helpful. Her powerpoints don't even go into great detail so there is no point in listening to her. If you are a freshman do not get her, she will tank your GPA  - Grade In Class:B

Comments:BIO 1305/1306 - Dr. Fernandez-Luna is the professor that every freshman starting college needs to take. Her tests are very fair, she doesn't assign busywork, and her office hours are helpful. She teaches biology with a passion that is hard to find in some professors at BU and you can tell that she truly loves this field of science. A lot of people that give her bad reviews on here are the same people that were too lazy to just do the readings on time. The syllabus states that she will test what is on the lecture slides, and the slides are taken directly from the book. This means that as long as you are caught up on the reading before each test, you will do very well. Bonus test points are sometimes handed out during lecture to students willing to answer questions. Also, all of her tests are multiple-choice. If you want to end up loving biology please take her!!!  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1305/1306 - Dr. Luna was hard during her first semester at Baylor, however she really changed her class around for BIO 1306. Your grade is basically composed of clicker quizzes and exams (although she does offer quite a few chances for extra credit). Her lecture slides are posted to Canvas and are basically word for word from the textbook. Her class is really easy if you read the book before class and study her slides before an exam. Also pay attention to the examples that she takes time to go over an explain and anything that she repeats multiple times, it's bound to be on an exam or quiz. Overall her class is very passable if you are willing to read the material. Also she hates MasteringBiology so there is a good chance that will not be any homework, besides reading the chapters, for this course.  - Grade In Class:B+

Comments:1306 - Dr. Fernandez-Luna is one of the nicest profs I've had so far at Baylor. She's always available and will create extra office hours to accommodate those that need it, and she had an extra test review on the dead days before finals. Her test material comes directly from her Powerpoints and she tells you in class exactly what to study and which points are the most important. A lot of people give her bad reviews because of her accent, but she is not difficult to understand and makes the class funny and enjoyable. You will need to study to pass her tests, but generally they weren't that hard as long as you looked over what she told you to memorize. The syllabus contained every section of reading and what day she expected it done. Her clicker quizzes were honestly harder than the tests and if you did well on those, you would make an A generally on the test. I would definitely take her class again if given the chance.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2019-07-30

Comments:BIO 1306 - Dr. Fernandez-Luna gets a bad rap for her accent and for her first semester teaching 1305, but for 1306 she was great. She made a serious effort to make the class as painless as possible, the only work outside of class was reading, and she is always very willing to discuss during office hours provided you are respectful. She's funny and she really cares about what she teaches but her tests are easy because she makes very clear what is important on her lecture slides by highlighting key ideas. I loved Dr. Fernandez, her class was my easiest all semester, and I would highly recommend her.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2019-05-17

Comments:1401 - Dr. Fernandez is knowledgeable and passionate about biology. However, she does NOT use her passion in a positive way. She says very controversial things and is condescending. She is unorganized and verbally makes promises about grades and does not fulfill them. She is extremely hard to understand and does not want the best for her students or make them feel supported. Also, on the final, she did not print all of the pages for the exam and was running around the room with her husband trying to fix her mistake. it was a very hard environment to take a final in and she did not offer any grace for her mistake that stressed a lot of students out. That is just one of her many, many rude and unorganized actions.  - Grade In Class:B+

Comments:BIO 1306 - Take her if faced with other professors. I know its scary looking at her ratings and you do have to try in her class, but the amount you learn from this woman is amazing. She is still trying to figure out how to schedule her class, and basically all her test are based off of her powerpoint. Clicker quizzes are graded, but she has MANY opportunities to bump your quiz grade ups few points. If you go to her office hours- which you SHOULD- she really will help you out and explain things way better than a general glossing over in class. She is here to help you, and I'm honestly so thankful I took her again. Don't be scared, she is great IF you put in an effort.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1401 - This class was unbearable. Fernandez-Luna is possibly the worst professor I've ever had. If she wanted us to have a reading done for our Wednesday morning class, she would tell us about it, literally, on that Tuesday at 11:40pm, and would give vague article names that made it almost impossible for us to find them, instead of giving links or an actual article title. She would assign us textbook readings that had no relation to the topics we covered in class. She had unrealistic expectations for a class for non-majors, and at times got confused and thought we were bio majors. One of my classmates had OALA mandated accommodations and Fernandez-Luna would either refuse to give the accommodations or would tease and taunt the classmate over them, sometimes even in front of the whole class. The powerpoints she posts online are 95% blank, and she struggles with the technology to present them during class, which made note-taking and studying for her tests hard. The tests themselves were bearable if you have taken a biology class before, like others have said. As long as you keep your head down and never go to her office hours you may be fine, but I decided halfway through the semester that the unpredictability and cruelty just wasn't worth it.  - Grade In Class:DROP

Comments:1306 - She is the sweetest lady! Her tests were pretty strictly off of her PowerPoints that she posted on Canvas and weren't hard. She's always willing and available to meet with her students and help them out. She does have an accent but you get used to it and can still understand her. We had no homework on mastering bio which was nice but our only grades in the class were tests and quizzes. Her clicker quizzes were hard for me but if you read ahead and pay attention in class you'll be fine.  - Grade In Class:B

Comments:BIO 1306 - Dr. Fernandez-Luna's class is very easy if you just study her powerpoints. There's really no need to read the book, as long as you pay attention in class and read the powerpoints you'll make a solid A on all the exams. The only tough part about the class is the daily clicker quizzes. Everyone says her class is difficult but its really not, and shes a very sweet lady!  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1305 - I have to say, most of the reviews on here are very overdramatic. If you took AP biology in high school, you will do absolutely fine. If you didn't, I wouldn't recommend Fernandez-Luna, however if you work really hard I think you will be fine. Her first test was definitely the easiest and as long as you actually study the material from the textbook you should do fine on the first test. Her second and third tests were definitely harder, but not terrible. Her lectures are not the best, and most of what she covers isn't on the test. She will tell you that things will for sure be on the test but you won't ever see them. The SI's were really bad though, and I think part of the problem was that they never knew what was on the test either. This course is definitely a weed out course, and will show if you're actually dedicated or not.  - Grade In Class:B

Comments:1305 - Dr. Fernandez is a very nice person, but as a teacher she's awful. The only homework we had was MasterBiology which she decided to stop using halfway through the semester. After that our grade was solely based on tests which were extremely difficult to pass. The average on almost every test was a 65-69. If you have her, I'm sorry because you got a big storm coming.  - Grade In Class:C

Comments:1305 - Alright, so Fernandez- Luna was not the best teacher, but she was definitely not the worst teacher I've ever had. It was obvious that she cared not only about the material, but she also cares about her students especially those who try. That being said she sadly wasn't allowed to make ANY OF HER TEST, so all of our test were from the department meaning our SI's didn't have access to them to create better test reviews for us. Honestly to make a good grade in this class, you basically have to completely memorize the textbook and the pictures/graphs in the textbook. All in all, she had some great lectures, but the tests were ass and you had to do so much work to make an A.  - Grade In Class:C

Comments:Bio 1305 - Fall 2018 was Dr.Fernandez's first semester at Baylor and you could definitely tell. The class is said to be 100% based off the textbook yet when you study the text book it doesn't help you at all on the tests. I went into Baylor as a Biology major and this was my lowest grade of the semester. She is very hard to understand do to her thick accent and told us it wasn't her problem if we couldn't understand her. She would often speak Spanish during class and answer questions in Spanish. The homework and quizzes were worth hardly any points. Her tests were extremely hard and required more than a word for word understanding of the textbook and lectures. She also wouldn't let you take notes if you went in to talk to her for office hours and didn't let you take notes on your computer. Switch out of her class if you can because it will ruin your GPA like it did mine. She is the worst teacher/professor I have ever had.  - Grade In Class:D

Comments:BIO 1305 - Okay, please do not let a majority of these polarizing comments steer you clear from Dr. Fernandez-Luna. This is a weed out course, so obviously it is not a walk in the park, but it is definitely doable. I took AP Biology my sophomore year of high school with an awful teacher and got a 3 on the AP test, and this honestly did not help me as much as I thought it would because we need to know the material MUCH more in depth for this course in college. For the first exam in this class, I let my background knowledge in biology give me a false sense of confidence and I scored a 75. Using this as a wake up call, I studied incredibly hard (but more like crammed because my studying honestly could have been much more spaced out, which is the key to being successful in college) and scored an 83 on the next test, but literally everyone else I knew completely failed (40-50s), so I considered this an accomplishment. Long story short, I basically stopped listening to her lectures almost completely and spent her class periods taking notes from my AP Bio study book, and I got an 85 and an 87.7 on the last test and final. My clicker quiz scores were god awful because I gave up on reading the chapters before the lectures, but she still bumped my final 89 up to a 91. To be successful in this class, I suggest that you a) READ THE BOOK b) do the mastering bio and make sure you have a deep grasp on the CONCEPTS and know how to APPLY the knowledge you learned c) take as many practice tests as you can. Honestly, towards the end of the semester, I got lazy and didn't go to any of the SI's, but they are definitely very helpful (only if you have a fair grasp of the information beforehand and are not going because you expect them to teach you everything) TL;DR: Fernandez-Luna is a sweet lady, but her lectures aren't very helpful. Read the book, teach yourself the material, go to the occasional SI, space out your studying, and you'll be fine  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1305 - I have taken Biology at Baylor with 3 other professors and I can absolutely say that Dr.Fernandez-Luna is the best I have had so far. All the other professors that I have had just read off of the powerpoints provided by Pearson and offer no extra context. Dr. Fernandez-Luna mixes her own slides into the Pearson slides and even edits the Pearson slides to make them her own. She does have a thick accent and it takes a while getting used to, but she always makes sure that her students are understanding what she is saying. She even asked her SI to explain some topics in class because we all looked confused. Her tests are hard but if you read and understand the textbook you should be fine. She does offer extra credit but each one is only about 1 point towards your grade. She is very passionate about biology and it is refreshing to find a biology professor like her. She is intense at first but you will grow to like her.  - Grade In Class:C

Date: 2018-12-15

Comments:1305 - She's very passionate about biology, but she isn't a great professor. There's almost no homework in the class besides MasteringBiology which stopped working mid semester, so the class is solely based on tests. Her tests are extremely difficult and if you don't read the book thoroughly before every class, you'll be very lost in her lectures. Her tests are also very difficult and if you didn't read and pay very close attention to her lectures, you're going to get a bad grade. On top of that, she has a very thick accent which you get used to with time, but that can also make it hard to give her lectures your undivided attention. Overall, she has a passion for biology, but isn't a very good professor and isn't understanding at all in regards to grades. She will, at most, offer 1 extra credit point on a test for something random, but she definitely isn't big on extra credit or giving her students help AT ALL. I wouldn't take this professor again.  - Grade In Class:C

Comments:BIO 1305 - DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS-you might think it will be fine or it fits in your schedule but no! I can not stress this enough, move your schedule around to take another prof because this lady was the worst professor I have ever had at Baylor. Ever. She cried on the first day of class and then told us that she was going to make this class so hard that some of us would fail so that the ones that passed would be good doctors-IM NOT GOING TO MED SCHOOL NOR HAVE I EVER BEEN PRE MED. Apparently her daughter had to be in the hospital for a while (she's fine now) and she said she was going to make us work hard to be good doctors so we could save her daughter. Looking back, I should have realized she was bat** crazy then and switched out the first day. She would tell us every day that some of us would fail (or most of us) because we didn't try and always yell at us. She is a horrible person-and I don't say that lightly. On test days, she would start the class by yelling at us or saying derogatory things-and then she would walk through the rows staring us down like a hawk which made it very hard to concentrate. The tests were ridiculously hard-and I didn't pass one even after studying for days and going to SI. Only take this prof if you are planning on dropping out of Baylor or hating your life. She also has an extremely thick accent, which is fine, but she would get really angry and defensive about it and seemed to have something against Americans to be honest.  - Grade In Class:D

Comments:1401 - I do not recommend taking Dr. Fernandez Luna. Reasons why not to take her class -she post assignment for reading quizzes at ridiculous times of the night for the following day -She is not helpful during office hours -She seems to change point value on assignments -she does not cover all of the blanks on the powerpoints - she takes a while to post all of the student slides that you will not have time to copy down and usually doesnt post the until reminded -relatively hard to understand her think accent How her class is structured - three test and a final (not comprehensive) all test are worth 17 percent of your grade - 1st test super easy 2nd test hard 3rd test average they are roughly 40-50 multiple choice test -some of the material was not from the book or lecture Almost every day there are clicker questions on an article you were assigned to read anywhere from 2-8 questions. They are based on participation but in order to get the participation points you have to get all the questions right. Theses clicker question are worth 15% of your overall grade. The lab section for this course was relatively easy. It was worth 17% of the overall grade. Overall I highly do not suggest taking this professor but if you have to take this class stay strong it is defiantly possible to pass and get an A. Its just very challenging and very stressful but defiantly do able! Good Luck!  - Grade In Class:B

Comments:1305 - She is an amazing professor and I really enjoy her teaching! Biology can be hard but I learned a lot from her class and understand how to study in the most efficient way! She is also a very nice person and I really enjoy talking to her!  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1305 - I studied for this class everyday all the time and still failed the tests. The tests are extremely hard, almost impossible. She teaches directly from the textbook and then assigned homework that was basically from the textbook and then gave us a test where we need to know way more than just the textbook. She has a heavy accent which is not helpful at all. If you have to take her, definitely take notes before class. That’s all, have a nice day. :)  - Grade In Class:C

Comments:1305 - This class is awful and she will straight up tell you “if you read the entire textbook and know it like the back of your hand, you will maybe get a 40%”. There is absolutely no way to prepare for the tests. Also, your grade in the class is only tests, no quizzes and very little homework.  - Grade In Class:C

Comments:Bio 1305 - She's nice, and if you go to her office hours she will try to help you. I didn't learned much from her lectures, because she has a very thick accent which makes it veery difficult to keep up with her. If English is your second language, I recommend you to take someone else. I'm literally so frustrated with this class. Her tests are almost impossible (in my opinion). If you go to her office hours, she won't answer your question unless they are very specific.  - Grade In Class:D

Comments:1305 - I am sure she is a nice person in general, but she is a terrible professor. Her accent makes her lectures hard to understand and her power points do not help prepare you for the test. I tried three different study methods for the three tests over the semester, I went to SI, and I went to the tutoring center and I still never passed an exam unless it was curved. I believe she makes the tests harder than they need to be and the questions are so far out there, that there is no way you could have studied the material enough to get the right answers. I would DEFINITELY avoid if possible. Save yourself and save your GPA.   - Grade In Class:D
