Comments:1310 - If you care about improving your writing and learning the “theory” so to speak about writing, taking Mr. Stockstad would be a good idea. He assigns readings and responses from almost the entire textbook. This class will not be a blow over easy gen ed. Mr. Stockstad genuinely cares so much for his students and understands where you are coming from, as he is also a student right now himself. Also, he is one of the few professors I’ve had at Baylor that has made such a significant effort to get to know his students. He is really rooting for you. He doesn’t provide much feedback on final drafts but is helpful during office hours. He is flexible on the research topics and you will be able to find something that interests you. Highest grade for the papers were 94-95ish, mean was high 80’s, and you can revise one paper. If you want to be a better writer and can commit to maybe not getting the best grade initially but working toward improving it, consider Mr. Stockstad.  - Grade In Class:B+

Comments:1310 - Good professor, but kinda boring class. Odd essay grader but overall not too bad. DO THE DAILY WORK, its easy 100s. Overall I'd recommend taking him.  - Grade In Class:B+

Comments:1310 - Stockstad is an awesome professor and an awesome person in general. He really cares for every student and wants the best for them not only in his class, but life too. I will say though that 1310 is a class strongly based on discussion and taking it at 8 AM was an epic mistake. It was real rough to stay active and present in the discussions. With that being said, he's a fair grader that goes straight off of the rubrics he gives with each essay. There's some kind of assignment due before every class meeting, but they usually don't take more than around 30 minutes. Highly, highly recommend.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1302 - Stockstad is an awesome guy and is enjoyable to be around. The weekly assignments that he gives are not hard and do not take a lot of time. He is a harsh essay grader, but just ask him for advice and follow the rubric and you will be fine. Many times class seemed like it was pointless to go to since most of the work could be done outside of class. If you can work hard on your essays and you do not mind showing up to class, take him.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1302 - TAKE. THIS. DUDE. He is such a great professor that cares for his students. We had 4 papers due throughout the semester, but they all had relatable topics that tended to get us more involved in the Baylor community, which was nice to have my first semester here. There's usually a few readings and an easy response to do as homework before every class but they are easy to complete and to understand. In-class time is usually discussion or peer review type activities with grades for just showing up. He's a tough grader on essays, but if you follow the rubrics and do not BS your way through the topics, you'll get an easy A. I'll say it again to prove my point- TAKE HIM!  - Grade In Class:A
