Comments:MIS - MIS - Avoid this professor. Lectures are clear, but exams are a nightmare. There is a massive disconnect between class material and tests. She expects you to 'compile complex code in your head' instead of testing core concepts. The difficulty is unrealistic for this course. Save your GPA and take someone else. - Grade In Class:B
Comments:MIS 3305 - Professor Sanchez, has made some major changes to her course and it is absolutely for the better. Her class consist of regular 10 question quizzes that cover about 1-2 sub chapters that she goes over in class, and if we are unable to cover the content in full she moves the quiz to a date once we are done with the material which is so nice. She is incredibly knowledgeable about python and teaches at an excellent pace and tries to make connections to excel for students who have no other coding/computer experience other than excel. HW consist of creating programs that are not due for a grade, and exams are more theoretical/all multiple choice. I have never been asked to code for a grade. This was my first experience coding in python as a new MIS major, and Professor Sanchez made the transition so much easier! I would recomend anyone to take her. - Grade In Class:B+
Comments:MIS 3305 - If you can stay awake, you will do well. This class is boring and she does not help that at all. There's tests that if you study for you will do well, not much homework, and a group project at the end of the year worth 15% of your final grade. This class is just lectures and tests, I recomend taking another teacher if available. - Grade In Class:B
Comments:Systems Analysis and Desi - This woman made my life extremely difficult. Her python class was light work, but this class was so unnecessarily difficult it kept me up at night. She makes me not want to be an MIS major. Worst professor I have ever had, and the worst professor at Baylor. Do not take her class. - Grade In Class:B+
Comments:BUS 1305 - I took this class at 8am MWF, so I believe this partially shaped my perspective of the class. Nonetheless, Sanchez is probably one of the best teachers you can have at 8am. She’s always cheering and excited about Excel; her enthusiasm was the only thing driving the class forward through lecture. If peppy people bother you early in the morning, don’t take her 8am, for me, it was just fine. She moves a little fast, so you have to keep up; it’s important to pay attention in class, otherwise, the homework becomes more difficult than it has to be. Her tests are multiple choice questions on paper, so they are a little difficult; definitely study over the learning objectives she uploads to Canvas (they structure the class). She can be a little passive aggressive sometimes, but it’s difficult to tell through her happy voice. Still, she genuinely wants everyone to understand and do well in the class; if you’re honest with her, she will help you. Office hours are really helpful too, so if you have questions, don’t be afraid to meet with her. This is such a useful class, and I encourage you to do the most so you can get the most out of it because it is information that will help so much in the future. Overall, Sanchez is one of the better teachers you can have for this class, so I recommend taking her. - Grade In Class:A
Comments:1305 - I have nothing but nice things to say about Professor Sanchez! I came into this class with zero knowledge about Microsoft Excel and Access and I learned so much. Professor Sanchez is very patient and she doesn’t mind repeating herself when someone gets behind during class. She is very knowledgeable, you can definitely tell that she has a lot of experience with MIS. Make sure you attend every class, because it is very easy to get behind if you don’t. I enjoyed her class and I would definitely recommend taking her for BUS 1305! - Grade In Class:A
