Comments:2303, 3325, 3367 - I can't say enough good things about Professor Adamson. For the important things: she teaches at an amazing pace. There is always enough time to ask questions and she makes sure everyone understands before moving on. She is so engaging, and has different assignments that were completely constructive and never felt like busy work. She is so smart and talented, so she is more than well-suited to teach. The homework and projects were totally manageable and so fun. All the projects were really helpful in learning the PR tools or practices. I had her for editing and someone else for advanced editing, and the difference was night and day. Adamson was so helpful and encouraging, and so clear about what she expected. Beyond her abilities as a professor, she is truly the kindest person. She begins every semester with a prayer for the class, and finishes the semester by handing our handwritten notes to every student. She is a calm and welcoming presence, and if I could have taken every single class with her, I would have. TAKE ADAMSON!!!!!!!  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:JOU 3374 - I would not take Professor Adamson. I know this makes me the odd one out, but I'm honestly infuriated by her. Yes, she is nice, and yes, if you are not a strong writer/need help with AP Style you will learn a lot. BUT, if you are a strong writer and are good at AP Style you get punished. She is SO biased and not a fair grader, and even though it was an easy A I was always irked with her. My main complaint is she refuses to give 100s, and then can't explain why you got a 98-99. I have gotten 98s on almost everything, and when I ask her questions she can't justify not giving me 100s (literally, one comment was "if you think this phrase is better" when it changed the meaning of my work). She also lets you correct your assignments, but if you started at 98 she won't give you 100 even when you make the "optional" changes. Please don't tell me to "make corrections" which are literally just MAYBE ONE suggestion because the AP Style and writing was correct, to still give me a 98. She also gives a crap ton of group assignments for no reason (which hurt your grade if other people aren't as strong in AP Style), the quizzes are long and pointless, and there's a non-paid internship requirement that I was not aware of starting this class. She also is way too lenient on students who aren't as strong or don't turn things in. There were extensions given to people who didn't turn things in with no penalty, an extra credit assignment at the end of the semester ONLY for those with a grade below a certain level, etc. Genuinely, if you are a strong writer from the start you get punished. Professor Adamson is one of those people you can not please, even if your work is exceptional. She has something against 100s, and has something against students who start off stronger writers/editors than their peers.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:3325 - Professor Adamson is very good at teaching this class. She is also very kind and caring to her students. However, her workload and assignments can be difficult. Some of the exams were just based on knowledge you know yourself and weren't in the notes or taught. If you're expecting to get a 100 on every assignment even the easy ones, this class will not be for you because the highest grade I have gotten was a 97. Other than that she was very respectful and helpful whenever needed.  - Grade In Class:B+

Comments:3325 - I love Adamson! I won't lie, editing can be a difficult course, but she is very sweet and super helpful. It definitely is not a class you can completely blow off, there are a lot of quizzes, homework and a few exams. But it is all really interesting and helpful. She knows a lot about Journalism and is super personal with her students.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:JOU 3325 - Professor Adamson is so so sweet and very helpful. She's always willing to talk with you before or after class and super easy to work with. I really enjoyed this class, the final is a group project which can be frustrating, but she's super helpful with whatever issues you may have with it!  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:2301 - I took her for the intro class and her editing class. Both I worked hard and did all the assignments and received good grades; however, I continuously got 90-93. Great teacher but won’t round you—happened to me twice. I got an A- twice at a 92.5+. You’ll learn a lot but getting an A is difficult, maybe even impossible.  - Grade In Class:B+

Comments:3374 - Mrs. Adamson is the best journalism professor I've had. She is so caring and helpful and really wants you to succeed. She edits assignments and lets you make corrections before she grades them which helps so much. Her lectures are interesting and all of the assignments you do each week really help you learn and understand each topic. Just put in the effort and you'll enjoy the class.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:3372 - Adamson is the best!! She is super caring and truly wants her students to succeed. I took the class because I needed a language credit for business but it ended up being one of my favorite classes. Each week there is writing assignment. After you turn it in, she gives it back with edits for you to correct and do well. Every Friday there is a current events quiz so you need to pay close attention to the news. You will also do a project that lasts all semester but it’s pretty easy and very relevant to future jobs. The only traditional test is the midterm, the final is paper over a movie. She will also let you out early every once in a while. Overall, I HIGHLY recommend this class.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:3325 - Adamson is the sweetest!! I took her for editing and loved her class. I learned a lot about AP Style, InDesign, etc. There are homework assignments every week but they are easy, and there are 3/4 tests but those aren't bad either. Take her if you can!!!  - Grade In Class:A
