Comments:3325 - Relieved to hear Robert King is considering going back to the private sector. No teaching skills whatsoever. He has the attention span of a middle schooler. Gets off topic easily. His class is synonymous with ambiguity. In his own words "teaching is a popularity game." He is very aware of his flaws and will give out extra credit like candy. He allows a half-page cheat sheet.  - Grade In Class:D

Comments:MGT3325 - First of all, I am not a native English speaker. I created this account to show that he really is a good professor.Although my grade is not very high on this course but I don‘t know why his grades are so bad on BU Rating Books. I think he is a very good professor. Compared with reading books, I like him very much when he tells us concepts and operation management framework in the form of PPT, and many concepts are closely related to his working experience. I think the knowledge he taught us is not limited to this course. He emphasized that we should bring units when we do Word problem. Although the process is painful, I believe that our logic ability will be improved to a very high level in the future. Although his exam scores are sometimes poor, as long as you put efforts and visit his office hour, you will find that he is really nice professor who cares about students.  - Grade In Class:B

Comments:MGT 3325 - The only reason I made an account was to give this guy a bad review. He doesn't use a textbook, and uploads his lectures with blanks, so if you miss class you're screwed. He is very distracted and wastes class time. He is definitely trying to improve but I wouldn't take him if.  - Grade In Class:B+

Comments:MGT 3325 - He has changed his course structure a lot so it is not as terrible as stated in the comments. The workloads were fine at least to me, but professor King is not good at teaching. He seemed to be prepared for his classes but his lectures are boring. If you spent effort in his class you will get a good grade. He gave almost 80 bonus points and you can bring a notecard with you for the exams. One thing I felt confused about is that at the beginning of the semester he said he will not assign group assignments, but actually there were like 90+ points based on group assignments. I believe his course has became easier and you could consider him as an option.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:MGT 3325 - DO NOT TAKE ROBERT KING. I don't even know where to start. First of all, he gives you a notecard to use on the test that is large enough to fit all of your notes, and yet the test averages were often failing. He would then take no responsibility for his poor teaching or his awful wording of questions. One time there was a calculation problem that every single student in all three of his classes got wrong. he didn't throw it out. He taught those calculations poorly but its our fault no-one knew how to do it right? when someone asked him to fully work it out in class so we can see why we got it wrong he said "you want me to push buttons on a calculator? I'm not gonna waste anyones time and do that when operating a calculator is so simple a second grader could do it" wow. His lectures are boring, PowerPoints are extremely long, and sometimes he will skip through several slides at a time without saying anything and you are left guessing if you need to know it or not. He will get tripped up on his own words and sometimes just give up on a thought without finishing it and move on entirely. Even though I'm doing well in the class it IS NOT worth the headache and hassle of dealing with him. He told us at the start of the semester that he had a low BU Books score because in the past he had the course structured differently but now he's learned from it and made it better. I very quickly found out that the course structure was not the issue, its him.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:MGT 3325 - Honestly, I think he's getting more hate in the reviews than he should. He's not my favorite professor, but he's not terrible either. I think he does a good job of explaining business management concepts as it pertains to real-life examples. The workload is not bad at all. It's the tests I struggle with. I did bad on the first one because algebra does not come naturally to me, and I didn't properly prepare. He's alright, but I'd look into other professors if possible  - Grade In Class:C

Comments:3325 - Professor King should be your last resort. He is a nice man and all, but he just cannot teach at all. Every class is so painfully boring and frustrating because the way he teaches is a complete waste of time (in my opinion). However, the tests are extremely easy and are straight up from the presentations. You also get a notecard to write on for every exam, but for some reason a lot of people still do horrible on them. There are quizzes every week that are pretty easy, and not a ton of extra homework. So overall I would suggest only taking him if you absolutely have no other choice.  - Grade In Class:B

Comments:3325 - This man is not good at teaching. I am sure he is very intelligent, but he does not know what he's talking about half the time. Every test has been curved tremendously and he has made excuses as to why. For example, he had a question that he prided himself on because NO ONE in all 3 of his MGT 3325 classes got it correct. Instead of removing the question, he gave half-credit to anyone who just put something down. Needless to say, this professor is not teaching because he cares about the students or the material, he is just doing it to get through his Ph.D. program. Please do not take him, you will not be happy with your grade in the end. The tests are all multiple choice on Lockdown Browser in class and you get a notecard to put any information you want. I am usually very nice to professors who are not the best teachers, but he has made understanding the material a lot harder than it should be.  - Grade In Class:B

Date: 2022-04-13

Comments:3325 - Professor King is a tough professor and he can come across as harsh; however, he's super helpful and if you ask him for help on assignments he's really understanding. All of the tests are curved, and he allows you to have a large notecard for all of them too. If a lot of students have questions about assignments, he'll reword questions or give back points. Overall I think he's a good choice of professor!  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2022-04-11

Comments:MGT 3325 - Prof. King switched the way his course is taught so it is much easier than I assume it was in the class. But it is pretty hard to sit through that class, the lectures are simple enough but he gets distracted and goes on tangents for most of the class time. He often hardly gets through all of the unit material before the exam date. His exams are typically heavily curved because over half of the questions are complete toss-ups or written horribly. The thing is we are allowed a large note card capable of fitting the entire unit's material on. But still the exams pre-curve average remain below the passing grade. I often leave an exam day furious. If you have an A before the final exam you are exempt from taking it. I'm barely holding onto an A currently.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:3325 - He is honestly the worst professor I have ever had. The workload is insane for a general ed. class. He gives stupidly hard tests with questions that have nothing to do with what we learned in class. He cannot seem to balance his work life with the his other commitments. He did not grade 90% of assignments until the end of the semester. No one had any idea of their standing in the class all semester. He gives no direction for assignments and there are so many each week. When I attended his office hours for help, he talked in circles for an hour. PLEASE DO NOT TAKE HIM. I literally created this account so that I could write this review. He should no longer be a teacher at Baylor. If you are the unfortunate soul that ends up having to take him, here are a few tips. Make sure you read all the readings and lectures outside of class. Try to get assignments done early, however, that is difficult because he does not give instructions until days before they are due.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2021-12-27

Comments:MGT 3325 - This is an incredibly odd rating to write due to Professor King being a very genuine and helpful professor at some moments, while easily being the worst teacher I have ever had at others. His workloads are ridiculous, he typically doesn't post instructions for his assignments until the night before, he takes months to grade simple assignments, and makes his tests unreasonably dificuly. Regarding the tests, he gives an area to show your work for the calculation questions, yet he will take points off of your "work" portion if you don't adhere to his strict methods of basic math. Throughout the near semester-long group project he gave numerous assignments with very generous due dates that were weeks away but with little instruction, thus leaving us totally clueless as to his expectations and causing significant unnecessary stress. However, he is very easy on grading for most non-test assignments and often gave bonus points making it very possible to get at least a B+. He also was very accommodating to meeting with groups well outside of his typical office hours and was very helpful in these meetings. It is a shame that he wouldn't just post his instructions from these meetings and make the course much easier on his students.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:MGT 3325 - Professor King comes across as a very difficult professor who is not willing to work with his students. I absolutely hated his class for the first six weeks. After going in regularly to his office hours, I have found that he cares about his students and wants each student to put effort into his class. Even if his class is incredibly hard, if you show him that you have legitimately tried, he tends to be very forgiving on grading. Each exam is brutally difficult but he allows his students to do exam corrections to earn half of the points lost back. As long as you do exam corrections, do all the assignments, and show him that you're trying, you will do perfectly fine in this class. I went to the first class of the semester and then decided not to do assignments or show up for class for the next month. This decision hurt me but I managed to turn a 13.54% into a C+. I went to his office hours and gave a lot of effort for the remainder of the semester. He cares for his students and wants them to succeed but he requires students to show that they care. Show that you care and give effort to his class and you can easily get an A or high B in his class. He is easily one of my favorite professors at Baylor after getting to know him.  - Grade In Class:C+

Comments:3325 - He claims to be Christian but shows no morals whatsoever when you need his help. His expectations are very unclear and workload is awful. My group asked him for help (bc of these unclear expectations) and he got very passive aggressive (minus the passive) and sarcastic with us and punished us for not knowing what to do.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2021-10-12

Comments:MGT3325 - Please don't take him, he is so mean. Does not help whatsoever. This is the lowest grade I've ever gotten at Baylor and this is supposed to be an easy class. This makes accounting look like kindergarten work. Baylor should not have this guy working anymore; taking this class will ruin your mental health.  - Grade In Class:C+

Comments:3325 - DO NOT TAKE THIS PROF. He is very nice and you can tell he means well but absolutely does not know how to teach. Lectures are so boring and so hard to follow, does not explain anything and you usually have no idea where he is going with them. Also, he will randomly throw "projects" into modules when he thinks of one because he thought it could be interesting. You will get bad grades on assignments because he doesn't list what he wants you to do and expects you to know what he wants. VERY unclear on expectations for everything. Additionally, he puts the same due dates for everything to give you "extra time" and will have up to 7 assignments and large projects due on one day. Also he talks about how previous students have performed and thinks that that tells you enough to know what not to do and what to do.  - Grade In Class:B+

Comments:3305 - This guy does not know how to teach. His workload is insane. He is clearly very smart but doesn't know how to teach. He is very off putting with his arrogance. Extremely hard class that doesn't have to be. Horrible teacher stay away from him at all costs.  - Grade In Class:B

Comments:3325 - I made an account on BuBooks just to write this review of Robert King. I have had some good professors, and some bad professors thorughout the years. However, I have never had a professor as poorly suited for his/her position as Robert King. I won't go into everything, but please do yourself a favor and do not take him. He told us the first test would be on a certain day, only to one day state that the test was actually today. When everyone in the class pressed him, he said that we were not paying attention. (There was an email that he sent out stating that the test would be on a different day) I did receive an A, but it was too close for an easier class.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:MGT 3325 - PLEASE read. I'm just gonna be honest...consider this your warning. Just don't take him. You heard it here first. The class AVERAGE for the first test was in the 40s, the HIGH score was a 62. And we got a 8.5 x 11 cheat sheet to bring into class. That's how ridiculous the test was. He then proceeded to blame the whole class for our poor scores the week after. He's a nice guy but that does not equate to teaching. Just please don't make the mistake I did. The only reason I am gonna get a B is because halfway through the semester a global pandemic hit and I had the chance to "pass" the class without it affecting my GPA. Just please don't if you care about your GPA.  - Grade In Class:B

Comments:MGT 3325 - This was his second semester at Baylor, which is why I assume the previous comments are not the best. I think he got better this semester, but there were a few things that made his class harder than it needed to be. The first thing that he did was that he moved almost every single due date back. This made it extremely confusing as no one really ever knew when an assignment would actually be due. This also resulted in there being three major assignments due in the last week or two of class, which ended up being super stressful. He also assigned a "semester long" project. However, he only gave us instructions to the project the week before the team update presentation was and the week before Thanksgiving break. This meant that for both deliverables, we only had a week or two to complete a semester's worth of work. This was especially frustrating as the Monday before Thanksgiving break, he sent out a Canvas announcement with all the instructions for the project, which included a 20 page paper and a 15 minute presentation. Because of the timing of receiving the instructions and our presentation time, my group could not meet up to work on the presentation, so we all had to do our own parts on our own and hope it all came together by the time it came to present. This was also the same week that a student selected assignment, the final paper, and part A of the final were due. The first test was also extremely difficult as he does not provide a textbook and his power points aren't that helpful. Basically, the only way to do decently on his tests is to download the power points and write the footnotes on the cheat sheet that he allows. The only thing that saved my grade in this class was the extra credit opportunities he offered. All that being said, I'm sure he's trying to get better, but at the moment, he's not the best. I would try to take someone else if at all possible.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:MNGT 3325 - Cannot teach at all. Does not teach you things you need to know for his tests. The most boring lecturer you will ever have. I wish I could copy and paste my entire course evaluation to explain how awful of a professor he is. He made it quite impossible to make an A in his class. He ended up restructuring his class later on in the semester because everyone was failing, which made it possible for people to make an A even if they failed 2 of his tests (aka, me).  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:3325 - nice guy. worst teacher i’ve had at baylor. DO NOT take him, even if it’s your last option. just wait a semester.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:MGT 3325 - His teaching style is terrible. Watching paint dry are more engaging than his lectures. He is nice guy but he can't admit when he is wrong. His tests are not a good evaluation of our knowledge. I get that he is a first time professor, but he needs to do better. The class grading scale is constantly changing (literally a 10 point percentage change overnight). He doesn't teach the material and when the whole class gets it wrong he puts it on the next test and expects us to get it right. If he is the only option left, wait a semester. Trust me waiting a semester is worth it.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2019-04-16

Comments:3325 - First of all, this was his first semester, so I fully expect a lot of reviews here to trash him pretty hard. I'll try to be as objective as possible. I think he came into the year trying to do the course different than any professor has before, which is admirable. The way the course was set up wasn't the issue, it was the material that we were expected to learn. Specifically, there was an Assessment (Test) on which the average was a 65% and the high was an 87%, however, he refused to curve it or admit any wrongdoing on his part. Overall, I think our grades will balance out, and I expect to get an A, however, it is frustrating to be in a class that is performing poorly and be told by the professor that it is our fault and that we should just wait it out. Overall, i'm sure his class will get better, however, I think he first needs to admit that he can make mistakes and be willing to take criticism to improve his class.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:MGT 3325 - Classic first-time professor. He had big dreams of teaching this like a graduate course, and they were crushed. He isn't that bad as a teacher, but he has no idea how to put together a progressive course and communicate the expectations for the class. I spent most of the class feeling rather lost. He assigns two group projects with two different groups at the same time. That got confusing. He started the class with what he called the "Bootcamp." Basically the entire semester's worth of material shotgunned at your face over three weeks. It was followed by a test which everyone did pretty badly on. Then it turned into a very slow class, with a lot of time set aside to work on the group projects. My grade is not good right now, but he said he grades on a very forgiving scale. I will update this when semester grades are in, but I wanted everyone to have a chance to know who he is for the next semester. Overall, not great, but I think he will be a lot better next semester.  - Grade In Class:B
