Comments:1302 - Prof Russell was fantastic!!! I can't say enough about how nice and respectful she was. As anxiety inducing as the speeches could be, she always made everyone feel better before giving them. The workload was very light and the assignments were easy A's for the most part. Side note: Most of the assignments/homework are done in class :) She is 100% my favorite professor I've had at Baylor so far! TAKE HER!  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:CSS 1302 - She is a very sweet gal with basically no work at all. Some assignments are kind of annoying and I was never quite sure how they were helpful to the class. She grades those weird assingments kinda hard which was annoying but for the most part shes a really easy teacher and you will have no problem getting a strong A if you put at least minimal effort. I would recommend her.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:Css 1302 - Easy A+, got a 98. I hated her class. Everyday felt like a kindergarten. She has these days where the sole purpose is to work on your outlines. When you finish your outline or have had it done already she makes you think there with your thumb up your as all class. Is this a rant about an annoying but otherwise easy af teacher? yes.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:CSS 1302 - Took the class online - Mrs. Russell is an elementary grade as long as you have an effort on your speeches and it matches the requirement stated on the rubric. There are several textbook reading quizzes, but the book can be found online for free and the questions are straightforward. Also, she gives out a couple of extra credit opportunities which can tremendously help your grade. You do have to reply to others' speeches with criticism and what they said, but it's no big deal. If she's offering online courses next semester, I would 10/10 recommend her!  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1302 - Prof. Russell is amazing!! she is one of the funniest, kindest, and most approachable professors at Baylor. I took her for my 8 AM class and she is definitely worth taking if you're looking to fulfill your university requirement. All her quizzes and the final are open notes, and she lets you choose the topic for each of the speeches! truly amazing, and my favorite class this semester. Her style of teaching and manageable/laid-back course structure allows for you to learn the material easily.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1302 - please take her if you can. a relieving class to go to . but don't take her kindness for granted, do your quizzes on time and prepare for your speeches. there is a textbook but I don't believe its completely necessary for the class. I just used a friend's if I needed it for a quiz but her PowerPoints tend to cover what you need to know. easy going class Environment and very easy to talk and work with her if you have any issues with her class. best professor I've had so far. so so so kind.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1302 - UM. She is sweet. And perfect. And I love her to death. Prof Russell has my class in STITCHES with laughter literally 24/7. Favorite professor ever. She's SUCH a great professor- we all love her class because she is straightforward, always puts funny GIFS in her powerpoints, and tells us such funny stories. She also has so many group activities in class that are so fun- because of this, I've gotten to know the people around me so well and now we are all friends and hang out outside of class. She does such a great job at being empathetic and caring- she does NOT judge people unfairly! Giving a speech in her class isn't terrible because she is rooting for us and wants us to succeed and because she tells us exactly what she's looking her. TAKE HER!! I could ramble on forever and give a million reasons why 1) you can so easily succeed in her class if you put in the work (it's not much work at all) 2) you feel prepped for speeches and feel like you're in a comfortable environment where the class is rooting for you 3) she is such a kind and hilarious/quirky person I've loved getting to have her!!  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1302 - the sweetest professor ever. Professor Russell really wants you to do well in her class and it's not hard to get an A. yes there are speeches but she grades pretty easily and the homework is normally very easy. she doesn't drag on class and encourages you to build on your skills. 10/10 recommend this class  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1302 - Prof. Russell is one of the sweetest and most caring professors I have had at Baylor. She is extremely understanding and shows that she cares for her students in many ways. Her Canvas is very organized and she is always very helpful. On occasion she can take a little while to respond to emails but if you send her a follow-up email she always responds. If you get the opportunity to take Professor Russell, PLEASE do so!  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1302 - I honestly don’t know why she has any bad ratings at all. I loved her!! She is so kind and caring and you can tell she is truly passionate about teaching and our educations. There were occasions where I thought things should’ve been different, but she is very transparent with everything and is willing to listen to your needs. You give a lot of different speeches, do little canvas quizzes, and have group work to do, which honestly help with your speaking abilities. I would definitely take her, especially if you’re nervous about a class like this/need more experience. She is very calming and always gives you a smile!  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:PSC 2302 - Seriously do not take this professor. There were occasions where I emailed her for help and she did not respond, which was very rude. Her workload is insane, and unless she automatically decides you are one of her favorites she will be a ridiculously harsh grader. I have consistently had a 4.0 until taking this class simply because Professor Russel is a horrible grader, singles out students, and overall makes you feel useless.  - Grade In Class:C+

Comments:CSS 1302 - If you want to learn how to give good speeches, take this class! If you are looking for an easy A and aren't really interested in learning how to give speeches, don't take this class. The workload is higher than I expected for an entry-level class - be ready to do some research - but it is not unreasonable. We were often out of class early and Professor Russell now gives test review questions at the end of each class. If you are someone who struggles with speech anxiety, I recommend taking Professor Russell because she is very intentional about helping students with that. She is totally approachable and her office space is really cozy. (Would definitely recommend going to visit her during office hours!) Something important to note: She doesn't accept any late work. If you take her, make sure you check canvas frequently for assignments and turn everything in on time. I learned a lot from this class and did well. If you are willing to put in the work, I am sure you will do well too.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:CSS 1302 - Professor Russell is a great professor. Her class was always super productive and she made the material easy to learn. I wouldn't say don't listen to the other reviews because there is quite a bit of work that goes into this class BUT I believe all the work she makes us do is to help prepare us for our speeches. There are 5 different speeches, online assignments/hw whose answers come straight from the textbook, participation/attendance grade, and a final. this past semester she offered 2 extra credit opportunities so make sure to take advantage of that and do them! Overall, I learned a lot from this class and she is definitely one of my favorite professors on campus!  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1302 - This is her first year at Baylor but Prof. Russell's expectations for a 1000 level speech class were very unreasonable. There were several hours of speech homework due each week. She uses several platforms for class which makes it tough to keep up with which and when assignments are due. She only announces a few assignments in class so there are times this semester when I missed assignments I had no idea were assigned. The speeches were also not graded very fairly as her rubric makes the class turn more into an English course rather than a public speaking one. We had no tests during the semester but we did have a 100 question final exam which she gave us no information to study for. A nice teacher but I would high suggest taking any other speech professor.  - Grade In Class:B

Comments:1302 - She's a new teacher, so maybe she'll loosen up, but truly the workload and expectations for a first-level, mandatory SPEECH CLASS is ridiculous. She expects way too much and takes the class really, really seriously. She is very strict about certain things but she likes to pretend she's easy-going and flexible. If you're a strict rule-follower, detail-oriented, and love to stick to a rigid schedule, go for it. But if you're like me and need to focus on other hard classes, she is a silly choice.  - Grade In Class:A
