Comments:1310 - PLEASE READ ALL!!! we have no homework, she teaches well and she is clearly passionate about the subject. this class is not your regular art class from highschool, so do not expect it to be that way. the year will start off with the easiest concepts, and then she will literally jumped into art history lol. The class is EXTREMELY boring and her exams are ridiculously hard. she is the only professor i have seen obsessed with people cheating, she walks around during exams and does all this random stuff. you do not have homework, its all optional. but again the exams are SO HARD THEY ARE ACTUALLY IMPOSSIBLE TO PASS UNLESS YOU LEARN ON YOUR OWN OR CHEAT!! they were also multiple choice and select all that apply with questions like "in class we talked about this, what is true about this art piece" and its actually something we talked weeks ago and she mentioned once. I struggled and I did all the extra credit. you will also have a project where you will have to walk all around baylor, yes really ALL OVER CAMPUS to find art pieces. I went from tidwell to the bsb to the sub and even north russell. it was actually hell. I would NOT recommend this class, if you can avoid it, AVOID IT! she is so nice and smart, but it is actually so boring and hard for a NON ART MAJOR INTRO CLASS! again, love her, she was so sweet but I would NOT take her class again.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:ARTH 4360 - While the course did offer an OK survey of Impressionist art, several aspects of its structure and delivery limited the overall effectiveness of my experience. There were frequent moments when Prof. White appeared unprepared, relying heavily on reading directly from notes during lectures. Discussions rarely moved beyond surface-level observations, and they did not meet the level of a 4000-level class. We learned about 200 ways to say that the Impressionists used loose brushwork in their paintings, and that the first Impressionist exhibit was in 1874, but there was little deep engagement. Prof. White was very insistent upon “student-led learning,” and oftentimes, our lectures would be replaced with group work. This would mean that we came to class having read our reading, were assigned to groups to discuss and create a short presentation, which we would then get up and give to the class for the rest of the session. I don’t necessarily take issue with this kind of assignment. However, it was the regularity of it that made it seem as though it was a way to get out of lecturing. In short, very easy, but I really didn't feel like I came away with learning much more than I already knew. I was so bored, and class felt like a waste of time. It could be a great class, but it's just not.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:ARTH 1300 - Prof. White knows what she's talking about, but the class is so incredibly boring. Maybe it's because i'm not an art major? The exams are so difficult for no reason. Some of the questions are "In class we discussed about this...", so if you weren't in class that day, youre basically screwed. You have to remember what she talks about for each piece of art. There is so much vocab that doesn't even make it on the exams for the most part. She does offer a lot of extra credit, which you should do. This class will make you go to different places on campus to do art work. Homework is all optional which makes you not want to do it. Take someone else.  - Grade In Class:B

Comments:Art 1300 - She is very nice, and the class is not much workload, but her tests are SO difficult, for no reason. You have to memorize every single painting she ever shows, what it is about, and who painted it/what the material is. I studied for weeks and still got a C on the tests. I am pre-med and her class was my lowest grade. She is nice though.  - Grade In Class:B

Comments:ARTH - She is a very nice and accommodating professor who will reward hard work and goes above and beyond just content to make the class more fun and engaging. HW is not exactly graded but I highly suggest you do it because what is discussed in the HW videos, will show up on the test. All in all, this class definitely increased my knowledge and appreciation of art and I highly recommend this professor.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:ART HIS - Idk what the dude under is talking about. This class was easy and she is an incredible professor. Genuinely made me care for the history of art and I still check back onto websites we used in class to look at art. Lectures are informal and shes very passionate about what she speaks. Loved it.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:Art 1300 - I want to start by saying DON'T TAKE THIS PROFESSOR!! She is a terrible teacher her lectures are so boring and the tests are super hard too. She gives a ton of homework that you're supposed to do before class and it is entirely unhelpful. This class is supposed to be easy but she makes it way more challenging than it needs to be. If you are going to take this class, take it with Christopher Wood.  - Grade In Class:B

Comments:1300 - I really enjoyed taking Professor White's class, but I also went into it already liking art and learning about art history. I took this class asynchronously online and I do have to admit that there is a lot of homework but at the same time it should not take all of your effort especially if you space it out to fit your schedule. The tests do get harder as the class progresses but if you already took good notes from doing the homework and study then you should be good. Honestly, I found this class super interesting and I even got to meet Professor White once and she was just as sweet in person as she portrays herself to be online. I highly recommend taking this class.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:ART 1300 - Professor White seems very nice and passionate about the class, but I did not enjoy this class. I took this class online, which is probably why it was not great. There was sooo much homework and reflections to do each week. The assignments weren't hard, but time-consuming and kind of pointless. The reflection journal was a P/F grade. We spent so much time on the reflection journal that I would have liked to get an actual grade for it. The first test was easy, but they get harder. Some questions on her quizzes/exams were very specific (ex: what was this person's job description?). These questions weren't hard, but they did not contribute to my learning of art history. Overall, I felt like a lot of assignments were pointless.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:ARTH 1300 - I took this course online as the last fine arts credit I needed to graduate, and I don't think I could've made a bigger mistake. I'm sure I would've enjoyed the class if it was in-person, but especially being asynchronous online, there's so much busy work it's absolutely ridiculous how much time I spent actually watching the assigned videos and writing in my reflection journal. I actually gave up taking notes halfway through the semester because that was apparently the one thing that wasn't required. It's not that the course is particularly difficult or anything, but there's just so much mind-numbing work that piles up very quickly if you're not careful.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1300 - Honestly, Heather is kind of painfully boring. I like her just fine, but her online asynchronous course was the most boring class I've ever taken. She has these assignment called reflection journals where she gives you prompts in the video lectures and on the "homework" (which is a bunch of youtube videos you watch and answer questions on). And I don't know if anyone cares, but she speaks really slowly. Even 2x speed is painful sometimes. But she isn't a bad prof, it's just a very boring class and boring material. Not too hard to get an A though, just keep your eye on the pieces of art she mentions as examples in the lectures, they're always on the exam.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1300 - Looking for a pretty easy fine art class? This is it! The first part of the class is pretty easy and she’ll tell you that (test average around 90) but it does get harder fast. The next few tests average around 80. There is minimal homework (maybe 30 minutes a week) but those videos are vital and maybe on the test. Overall, the class is pretty easy but study for the later tests.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1300 - Ooooh Heather. She’s a sweetie. There are quite a bit of notes, but it’s doable. I used to take in-class notes, but then I realized she posts all her powerpoints on canvas so I decided to sleep in class and take the notes later. Not gonna lie there was a lot of information you needed to memorize for the exam so I just sat down the night before and made a quizlet and studied for 3ish hours. The exams get harder as you move through the course, but she offers 20 points worth of extra credit assignments so I recommend doing those. Overall, pretty easy and it helped me catch up on sleep.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1300 - Prof. White is one of the sweetest professors I have ever met. She is passionate about art and the workload is next to nothing. 2 museum assignments which only take about an hour and are guaranteed 100s if you put a little effort, and 3 tests that are super easy as long as you review the powerpoints for an hour or two which she posts on canvas. She is very jolly and uplifting, and this class serves as a great GPA booster. Please do yourself a favor and take her immediately. Easy A  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:ART 1300 - TAKE THIS CLASS! literally easiest A I finished with over a 100. I did all the extra credit and put about an hour of studying into each test and I went into the "final" which happens before finals and isn't cumulative needing a 40. she is super nice and doesn't expect much  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:ART 1300 - Easiest class ever. Lectures were super interesting and I feel like I actually learned a lot. 3 exams and 2 museum visits are the only 5 grades. Test are completely doable, just listen to lectures, and you’ll get an A. Museum visits are basically automatic 100 as long as you do them. 30 extra credit points throughout the semester which don’t take a lot of time. If you need a fine arts credit, take Prof White.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:1300 - This was her first year teaching at Baylor and I thought she did a very nice job. She's very knowledgeable and I learned a lot from her class. She's very flexible and adjusts her lesson plans based on our input. The best thing about her class is she doesn't have a final! I think she's teaching this class again next semester. You should take her.  - Grade In Class:A
