Comments:BIO2106 - Dr. Pitts is a sweet gal and she really does her best to be involved but she does too much. This is a one-hour lab that no one wants to voluntarily take. She cares too much about the class and it makes it boring and feels like a High School class where she believes students cannot succeed without her specifically. She is too strict and I dread going to the lab every week, her TAs are nice but are her little minions, constantly watching and hoping to catch you mess up so you can be embarrassed by the rest of the class. The labs are not very helpful to the general lab but I enjoyed BUtrees and BIOheroes more than this and those sucked.  - Grade In Class:B

Comments:BIO 2106 - I love Dr. Pitts, she is legit an angel in the bio department. Her Lab is so fun, lecture is really easy as well. Just read the labs and study a little for the exams and you will have no problems. I wish she taught other courses besides just the lab because I 100% wish I could take her again. She is the only person who teaches this lab and lecture so if you get to take her, have the best time, and you'll probably love her.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:BIO 2106 - Cannot recommend Dr. Pitts enough! She's patient, kind, and truly invested in getting to know her students (by name and in general). As a professor, she seems to be attuned to her students, taking time to re-explain any concepts she senses the class feeling fuzzy on. Not only that, but she also offers a bunch of extra cred opportunities to help you learn and ace this lab. There are 2 parts to this course: an hour of pre-lab lecture, and then your actual lab time later in the week. Some tips for succeeding in this class: read the pre-lab writeups BEFORE lab lecture and underline/circle key phrases. Literally doing just that will guarantee you get full points on every Quiz A. Taking notes during lab lecture will also guarantee you get 100s on Quiz B every week, since that is open manual/open notes. Oh, and don't underestimate the exams -- you need to actually study for those to get good grades! Other than that, you should be fine to take this course! Highly HIGHLY recommend taking this simultaneously with BIO 2306 (Genetics lecture); getting to interact with the material in lab, usually before it's tackled in lecture, has helped me fare better in my understanding of Genetics.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:Genetics Lab - The lab was very enjoyable and Dr. Pitts is a wonderful person. I would recommend taking this lab while you are taking the genetics lecture classes because a lot of the material you learn in lab is stuff that you will be tested on in the lecture class.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:BIO 2106 - Genetics lab with Dr. Pitts is a breeze! When I took this course Fall 2020, everything was graded on completion; just don't fall behind on your work since you WILL need to know it comprehensively for the tests. The final exam was cumulative and open-note, which was amazing and I got an A very easily. I did not do the best on all her tests, but they were very fair overall and she never gave trick questions to purposefully challenge her students. Dr. Pitts would also walk around the lab and see if anyone has questions, and explained things very well without seeming condescending or disappointed if you did not seem prepared- she just genuinely wanted to help out and have her students learn. Also, GO TO HER OFFICE HOURS!! This is something I wish I did more, not just because I needed extra help in the course at times but just because she is such an amazing professor, super cool and great to talk to. At the end of the semester, she also emailed me about a missing lab report I forgot to turn in, she brought me to her office and I showed her the work and she gave me partial credit. 10/10 recommend her for anyone taking genetics. She is the most generous and helpful teacher I have had for bio who also genuinely enjoys what she teaches.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:Gen lab - Dr. Pitts is such a kind amazing and intelligent human. She would always walk through our labs and ask us questions to make sure we understand the material and if we didn't she would explain it to us. This was my favorite class last semester since Dr pitts really made this class as I was always excited to go and learn. I only got a B since I did bad on a test but that was my fault.  - Grade In Class:B

Comments:2106 - DR. PITTS IS AMAZING!! Tbh I was really scared about this lab since 1106 was super hard and genetics is a notoriously hard class overall. But Dr. Pitts sets this lab up to be what a lab should be. It's a way for you to apply what you learn in the lecture with basic laboratory techniques where it is fun and you do not have to worry about your grade 24/7. You have pre-lab quizzes (easy 5/5 if you watch lecture videos) and your lab grade is an easy 10/10 competition grade each week; you just have to turn in the worksheet each week on time and show that you tried. The exams are straight forward and not confusing at all, but you do have to study for them. She also gives some extra online quizzes for bonus points! As far as Dr. Pitts is concerned, she is so sweet and wants this class to be a fun experience for everyone. She is always willing to help anyone that is struggling and does an amazing job explaining tricky concepts if you are ever stuck. She's also one of the most understanding professors ever. She moved the first two exams from Monday to Friday when she learned that many students had exams early in the week. Dr. Pitts has been a blessing to all Baylor science majors and I hope she's here for a long time  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:BIO 2106 - Dr. Pitts makes this lab, one of if not the best lab at Baylor. She genuinely cares about students and wants to help in whatever way possible. The class has three exams (including final). They aren't super difficult, but you'll still need to study a bit for them. You always have a prelab quiz worth 5 points each and if you go to lab it's a 10 point completion grade. This is what labs should be like, not like BIO 1105 or BIO 1106 lab  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:BIO 2106 - An absolute sweetheart. Dr. Pitts is so helpful and so genuine in what she does. She truly has a passion for teaching and for genetics itself. Make sure to study for the clicker quizzes that you will have in class and for the exams cause you'll want to do well on those. Other than that, you grade also consists of attendance/participation and manual checks. If you do not understand something please go talk to her because she is so understanding and will for sure take the time to go through the material with you. A truly awesome professor!  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:BIO 2106 - Dr. Pitts is very enthusiastic about Genetics and hopes that you are too. She is very approachable and understanding. Her explanations are concise, and she encourages you to ask questions. The clicker quizzes are alright, but you need to remember to study for the exams. Don't make the mistake I did and let them sneak up on you. Once I tried to go review my test, but missed the time I'd said I'd be there. The next day I left my Heritage class 20 minutes early to make it to her office hours.(Dr. Tom Milay is great, and will get his own separate review) I apologized and said that I wouldn't have made her go out of her way to wait on me, but her office hours wasn't a great time. She very sincerely told me not to feel guilty. So yeah, study for her class and you'll do just fine.  - Grade In Class:B

Comments:2321 - Baylor does not deserve Dr. Pitts. This woman will do everything in her power to make sure you understand the material. She has gone as far as reopening an in lecture quiz question to ensure that all of us understand and submit the correct answer. I believe that Dr. Pitts is a saint that has descended on Baylor to bless us pre-meds. If at any point in the semester you find yourself unable to complete an assignment, you can attend her office hours or catch her in the hall and she will walk you through every step of the lab and answer any questions you have. Passing this class is easy, all you must do is give it your best and trust Dr. Pitts.  - Grade In Class:A
