Comments:NSC 2306 - Dr. Palm is a very nice person and I think she is an amazing psychology professor. However, I do not think she should be teaching a neuroscience research methods class as her teaching seemed too psych based. I did not like the way her class was structured at all. She uses a flipped classroom design and I was not a fan; I felt like the time would have been much better allocated if she had lectured and structured the class normally. That being said, there was a lot of cushioning with all the assignments we had to do, so even with a C on the first exam I was still able to get an A. Her teaching style made it seem like this class was going to be somewhat easy, but her exams are actually quite challenging and confusing. I really like her as a person, but this class was far from my favorite class I've taken at Baylor.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:2306 - Okay I actually loved Dr. Palm. Her millennial humor was a bit much at times but you can tell she really knows her stuff considering she's fresh out of grad school. I thought her tests were subjective but you just had to think like she does and I scored the high on every single one of her tests and ended with like an 92% on the final. The material is pretty self explanatory and she's so approachable. And and she gives extra credit for going to her "coffee & conversation" (no coffee provided though...). Anyway, she's the only professor for this course but she's definitely not bad. Just pay close attention to detail on her little mini proposals like the margin spacing and all that jazz. She will mark it off.  - Grade In Class:B+

Comments:2306 - Regarding my neuroscience research course, Dr.Palm was great. She is available for office hours at any given time, provides practice, and is genuinely a very kind person. If there is a concept that you don’t understand, you can always ask her. She also gives out extra credit just for attending her office hours too. The only problem that I may have had with the course is that some of her tests are a bit too subjective in nature. However, the majority of people typically get at least a B on them. Overall, Dr.Palm this semester was an amazing teacher and helped me learn more about research and statical analyses.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:2306 - \First of all, let me start by saying that this class was unnecessarily hard for no reason as a sophomore who took many other classes. I felt like I studied for hours, knew all of the material, and was somehow thrown off on the exams. She writes her own tests, and they are EXTREMELY subjective. She basically picks answers she thinks are the best, but this does not necessarily mean other answers are wrong. No matter how hard I studied, I felt like her tests were impossible to do good on, and I feel like I have all the material down. This class was my first B ever. I've taken Bio 1 and 2, Intro to Neuro, Chem 1 and 2, Calc, and Ochem 1 and 2 and managed to get A's in all of them except research methods. Tell me why this is? Isn't this supposed to be a "normal" class and not extremely difficult? I also felt like she could never really explain the material, she just kind of "talked" about what the book stated without any analysis. She was always available during her office hours, but I felt like she didn't really help and sometimes confused me more when I went. I also felt like she was never really able to answer questions and always stared at me like I was stupid. She also graded the assignments so hard! Like she would give me 8/10 for two missed words, and I would spend 5+ hours working on them. She is a nice person as a friend, but is laking a lot of experience as a professor. Honestly, I know she is the only one teaching this class, but If anyone in the department or even Dr.Palm is reading this, please use some test bank when creating questions. They were written extremely biased, and I still don't think I got the grade I deserved. I know this was a rand but honestly, this was class the vain of my existence this semester. Thank you for reading my rant LOL.  - Grade In Class:B

Comments:2306 - First, let me just say that I did end with an A in this class. However, Dr. Palm has been my least favorite neuroscience professor so far, and I've encountered a lot of professors already. I don't know why other people gave her such high rating but specifically for Research Methods in NSC course, she was far from great. First, she just recently got her PhD, so it's evident she does not know how to teach or make exams. Her exams questions were obviously made by her and they were often bad questions. I argued with her over this and explained to her that the wording of her questions and answer choices were misleading or ambiguous but she was very defensive and was not understanding at all. Also let me clarify this is not supposed to be a hard class. If you took intro to stats half the stuff is review for you but she someone how makes that even more confusing. She gives examples in class to clarify the concept but the examples are not even related to neuroscience (e.g. she uses ice cream LOL). On the exam, you're usually given an example scenario and you have to recognize what method you need to use or is being used to study and the example is often so dumb and unrealistic or very culturally specific (I'm an international student so I don't understand some of these jargons she used). When I took the class we had discussion questions with the dumbest questions. She's young, she doesn't know what she's doing, she doesn't know how to write exam questions, and she's defensive and doesn't think she can make mistakes. Unfortunately, you probably don't have a choice when it comes to taking NSC2306. I took this class with my friend and we both absolutely hated it because Dr. Palm was an awful professor but I'm sure she's a nice person besides that.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:2306 - I have absolutely NOTHING NEGATIVE to say about Dr. Palm. I made this account to tell y'all to take her for absolutely anything she teaches. She is so knowledgeable and does a great job of breaking down the information as some of it can be pretty dense and hard to understand at first. This class does require a lot of reading and effort and it's definitely not the most exciting neuro class, however I honestly kind of liked it. Dr. Palm is so kind and always willing to help!!! Her tests are challenging but fair and I'm happy with the B I earned. Her grading scale is also set up to help you, not hurt you. A true queen. Thanks for coming to my ted talk.  - Grade In Class:B

Comments:NSC 2306 - I love Dr. Palm. She is incredibly sweet and tries to make the class as interactive as possible. Her class is challenging because her question are primarily application based and the answer is not always super obvious, so you have to know the material really well. However, she explains each subject in depth and explains in a way you will understand. There is very little work in her class. She only has very short discussion posts and writings after every class and drops a ton of them so if you miss some, it's alright. Also, her office hours were great, and you get extra credit for going! Sometimes I would go to her just to talk about life and she gave me some great tips. Overall, I highly recommend Dr. Palm! take her if you can!  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:PSY-1305 - I had her for the team-taught intro psych class and she was great! She was a great lecturer and her lectures and tests followed along with the book. It is a lot of reading, so make sure you keep up on it. You HAVE to read the textbook to do well! I really enjoyed her and would definitely take her again  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:2306 - Research Methods - this class was honestly harder than I expected, but Dr. Palm is incredible. She is so kind and helpful, especially in office hours. There were 4 tests and a final, with one drop test. After every class there is a discussion post and short writing assignment (literally 1-2 sentences). She really knows what she's talking about and explains difficult concepts in a very practical, understandable way. Could not recommend enough!  - Grade In Class:A
