Comments:ACC 2304 - This review is basically useless because Becky Jones is retiring after this semester. However, most of the reviews on here about her are just salty students who performed poorly in her class. I will say, she is def not the best professor I have had but she is def not the worst that these reviews make her out to be. As an accounting major, her class structure was extremely helpful and beneficial to me. Her workload is def a lot more than other accounting professors but it helps force you to learn the material and actually put it to practice. All in all I think she is a genuine person and wants her students to succeed, but won't hand it to you, you have to work for it. Her class has been one of the more challenging ones I have taken so far, but I have learned a lot and actually retained the information  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:ACC 2304 - AVOID AVOID AVOID I wish that I had listened to the other ratings. She is the worst prof ever, doesn't know how to teach, made me feel stupid when I asked questions. I met with her probably 5 times throughout the semester and she did not remember my name a singular time or even recognize my face. She did not make an effort to get to know her students. SHE IS NOT A GOOD TEACHER JUST DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND AVOID HER. also there is so much homework and it is graded for accuracy and is impossible to do.  - Grade In Class:C

Comments:2304 - NEVER TAKE HER. She is the worse professor at Baylor and she thinks her life is so important. Whenever you don't understand something, she acts like you are stupid. Literally, she blamed everyone for failing her exam when everyone failed. I am so happy shes retiring but Jesus Christ never take her.  - Grade In Class:C

Comments:ACC - she just flat out sucks... everything you read about her on this page is completely true. Would not recommend unless it is a last resort. If you get stuck with her good luck  - Grade In Class:B

Date: 2022-01-16

Comments:Acc2304 - If you want to have a decent grade in this class make sure to always pay attention in class and do all the hw without looking up the answer. She definitely makes this course harder than what it should be. I heard from other students that other professors teach this material better and students usually end up with better final grades than Jones' students.  - Grade In Class:B+

Comments:2304 - Becky Jones is honestly the worst professor I've had at Baylor. I studied for hours for every exam and failed every one of them. The concepts weren't too difficult, and I went into the tests feeling good but when I got my grades back I was always confused and disappointed. I went to her office hours a couple of times to discuss homework questions I missed and to go over my tests and she was very condescending and made me feel stupid and like I shouldn't have even had the questions I was asking.  - Grade In Class:C+

Comments:2304 - I have never disliked someone as much as I dislike Becky jones. This woman has made my life a living hell. She reads about her personal life at the end of every class and will skip through lectures just to do it. She talks about drug addiction, death, adultry, prison. I hate to be the person who talks about trigger warnings but this woman is completely unaware when it comes to going in debt on topics like these. She even compared her husband cheating on her to sexual assault. If the other reviews dont steer you away, i hope this one does.  - Grade In Class:C

Date: 2021-12-09

Comments:ACC 2304 - All things considered, she is not as bad as a lot of people say. But, you will 100% need to teach yourself a majority of the class because her lectures are vague. My biggest recommendation is to read and take notes on the textbook. She allows you to come into office hours and check all of your homework so there is no reason you should miss out on her extra credit opportunities. Try to redo all of the note packets and homework before exams, as they are similar to the test material. Her exams are honestly incredibly fair, and she preps you to do very well on the free-response portion. As long as you read the textbook and redo all of the practice problems, you should be able to make an A without too much stress. She is also very willing to explain things during office hours if needed.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2021-11-28

Comments:2304 - This is hands down the hardest class I've taken at Baylor yet. If financial accounting was difficult for you, literally STAY AWAY from this class. Her class notes are consistently wrong and we have to re-do the problems, she rushes through examples and makes you feel very stupid when questions are asked, her favorite word is "obviously" because normally the question you ask is so simple to her there's no need to ask it. In office hours she's a sweet woman, but I truly think she's just been teaching the same subject for WAY TOO LONG (45 years) and has gotten so used to the material she forgets how difficult it is to grasp for the first time. Financial ACC was definitely not easy for me, but I knew what I needed to do to perform well in that class. For this class, sometimes that is simply not enough. the exams are extremely difficult, so be prepared to feel unacomplished after every single one.  - Grade In Class:C

Comments:2304 - I am in 2304 now and I might have to drop because she is such an awful professor. She assigns so much homework that it's impossible to complete it all without using chegg unless you're amazing at accounting. Her tests- I have not finished a single one on time. This last one, there were 15 other people in my class who didn't finish because she had two long extended responses. If you can avoid taking her or wait until she retires, do it.  - Grade In Class:DROP

Date: 2021-11-01

Comments:2304 - Becky Jones is the worst professor I have ever had. I am a very tolerant and patient person, but she is very much not. She runs through the class notes, and if you ask a question, she makes you seem like the world's dumbest person. I am afraid to ask for help and do not want to be publicly humiliated. This class adds so much extra stress to my life than it needs to. I am taking 15 hours and do not have time to revolve my whole life around accounting. It is absolutely asburd that she is still a professor.  - Grade In Class:B

Date: 2021-10-28

Comments:2304 - Becky Jones is by far the ABSOLUTE WORST PROFESSOR at this school. This professor really likes to talk about how depressing her life is in her "world famous" memoir at the end of every class. Yes, I feel bad, but that doesn't explain the fact why this professor makes me want to jump off of the Alico building. I swear, every time somebody asks a question, she makes them feel like they are the world's dumbest person and that we expect to know every little thing that she is talking about. But to me, it sounds like pure gibberish because she just runs through her lectures like she's in a marathon and me and the other students around me have no clue as to what she is talking about. I can focus in most of my classes, but omg Becky what are you doing?? You making me think of literally ANYTHING BUT accounting because of how bad you are keeping me focused. There is a lot for this professor to work, the fact that she has been teaching this class for 40 years is absolutely insane. I pray that her past students were able to make it through her class, because I am on the verge of jumping in the Brazos because solely of this class. Seriously, it's that bad. DO NOT TAKE HER CLASS!!!!!!!  - Grade In Class:C

Date: 2021-10-28

Comments:2304 - She seemed like a very sweet lady in the beginning but do not let that fool you. She will make you feel stupid for not knowing the answers in class. She always expected everyone to come to class fully prepared knowing anything and everything about accounting. If you asked her a question she would make you feel stupid for asking it and would never actually answer your question. If you end up taking her class, GOOD LUCK.  - Grade In Class:C

Date: 2021-03-30

Comments:2304 - Look y'all, this class is not the move. Becky has been my least favorite professor I have ever had. The class itself isn't too bad, but it still is an accounting class. There are tricky units, and some days you are bound to feel like "I have no clue wtf is going on." But if you work hard, and review well before the test, you should be able to do okay. The tests are departmental, and the formatting can be a little wack at times, but they're generally passable. Now we get to Becky. Y'all .... if you truly can take someone else, please do. This class was awful. Not a single time did I really enjoy being in class - even on the day that she made cookies. The way its taught, going around the room one at a time, the many different types of homework ... all of it = awful. I hated my life in her class. Also, I am lowkey depressed about it because I am an accounting major. I aced financial so easily and loved Don. Becky just made me sad to be an accounting major. Make the right decision for yourself and choose someone else for managerial.  - Grade In Class:B

Date: 2020-11-23

Comments:2304 - Here's the tea on becky. She is a fine professor some people take her and do fine, others hate her. I am NOT a fan. She personally made me cry in class TWICE when calling on me for class preps and making me feel dumb when I didn't get the right answer. I'm an accounting major so managerial shouldn't have been that hard compared to intermediate but she made me hate my life for the 1.25 hours I had to sit in class. If you try hard you can get an A it's not that bad but don't take becky unless you have no other option.  - Grade In Class:B+

Date: 2020-11-11

Comments:2304 - I have always had a hard time with accounting and this class was definitely a struggle for me. Mrs. Jones is a really sweet woman, but she can be very intimidating at times. I was not a fan of her teaching style. She expected students to come to class with the majority of the notes already filled out prior to the lesson. There was never a lot of information being taught within the class period, it was usually just going over what we had completed for class prep. She would go around the class calling on us to give her the answers to the notes. If you didn't know the answer she would often wait until you would figure it out yourself and she would make you feel stupid if you didn't know it. A lot of us were afraid to even ask her questions because she would come off as very rude when answering us. She grades very tough and her homework and exams reflect that. You will be assigned both online and written homework, as well as daily class preps. There are no quizzes, but there are four tests and a final. The tests are usually 25 multiple choice questions with a pretty big free response section. She does provide practice problems for the exam, but the tests as a whole are difficult if you don't understand accounting well. I personally would never take her again because I dreaded going to this class everyday.  - Grade In Class:B

Date: 2020-04-21

Comments:ACC 2304 - She is very nice and knows what she is talking about, but I was not a fan of the reverse teaching style. Be prepared for A LOT of assignments. You are supposed to fill out these class outlines and then she asks you about them during class. I ended up never doing them and then only did it when I knew she would call on me. It also felt like she was pulling teeth to get an answer from the class. Nobody wanted to answer, felt kind of bad. Tests aren't terrible because she tells you the free response before hand. Also the departmental final is a lot easier than the exams. If you get stuck with her, you aren't doomed, but there is written hw once a week and online as well as class preps for each class.  - Grade In Class:B+

Date: 2020-01-22

Comments:Acc 2304 - She really is not that bad. Go to her office hours to check homework. She gives out a lot of work, but it helps to succeed in her class. I went through notes and practice problems on canvas before every exam and did just fine. The final is very easy as well.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2019-12-22

Comments:ACC 2304 - She has been through a lot, so she may come off a little rough, but she is a great person and knows a lot about accounting. Accounting is by no means my strength, but she helped me to understand it better than I thought I would.  - Grade In Class:B

Date: 2019-12-18

Comments:2303 - I took Becky Jones for Financial and I'm scheduled to take her for Managerial as well. Yes the class in general is hard and Ms.Jones assigns a lot of homework. But overall she is very good at explaining the material and her tests are a fair representation of what was taught. As long as you do the pre-class prep you will be fine in this class.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2019-08-07

Comments:Financial - Ms. Jones is an excellent professor. Yes, her class isn't the easiest, and she does give a lot of homework. But the homework is very helpful. She goes pretty fast in class, but if you did the class prep homework, you'll have no problem following along. She gives opportunities for extra credit, too. Ms. Jones also really cares about her students, and she is always available to meet. I liked having her a lot and am taking her again for managerial!  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2018-12-11

Comments:2303 - Honestly she wasn't terrible. I think the class preps were great note outlines and her chapter reviews helped for the tests a lot. I don't really think she prepares you that well for the final though because it was a lot harder compared to her tests.Overall she's a pretty average teacher, you could do better or you could do worse. I don't think she's a "spirit breaker" but don't get your hopes up about extra credit, just because she offers it doesn't mean its easy to get AT ALL. Homework isn't too bad the online homework is really easy because it guides you through what you need to do and i got 100 on every one of them.  - Grade In Class:B

Date: 2018-12-07

Comments:2303 + 2304 - Look, Prof. Jones isn't easy and the class isn't the most exciting, but she's fair and will work with you in any way she can.  - Grade In Class:B+

Date: 2018-12-05

Comments:2303 - I am a fairly tolerant and kind person, but this lady gave me the upmost stress and a few panic attacks. The class is a hard class in itself, so you will just have to push through it as it is a Baylor Core to be admitted into the Business School. I will say, this is the hardest class I have ever taken, and I do not think that she makes it any easier. You have over 40 class preps to accomplish before each class, written homework and online homework guaranteed before every class. She has four exams and then a final. The amount of chapters that are included in each exam are about 3-4. It is a lot to learn as each class, you learn at least 10 new concepts of vocabulary terms. She grades on a points scale, not a percentage scale (which I cannot tell yet if it is beneficial). She has a lot of office hours to check every assignment which is helpful, so I guess you could always get a 100 on the homework but what a hassle when you have over 70 written homework assignments. No lie. Plus online homework. The tests are extremely difficult, even when you study. I have a 4.0 cumulative GPA and I am about to lose it to this class. She is a great lady, I'm sure would be so nice outside of the classroom, but she is not a considerate professor. She demeans students when they do not have the correct answer or they ask questions, they material is the most extensive I have ever seen, and she gives no extra credit unless you come prepared to every class and never get below a 90 on each of the 70 homeworks. And it is only two points per test. Not much when you need so many more points. I talked to my friends in other classes and they are not struggling like this with other professors. This is a hard class, but she makes it harder.  - Grade In Class:B+

Date: 2018-11-24

Comments:2303 - She isn't that bad. If you do the class preps and stay on top of the homework you will be fine. The tests are kind of hard, they're very conceptual so you just have to make sure that you understand what you are calculating.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2018-11-05

Comments:ACC 2304 - DO NOT take if you can avoid. SI got stuck with her because I was on a waitlist for another teacher but it never opened up. She is a sweet person at heart and has gone through a lot so I'm sure she is helpful with personal struggles but she IS NOT helpful with accounting. The homework took forever sometimes and for the online portion you only get 1-2 times to tries before it just takes your highest score (most other professors allow you to re-do it until you get 100%). Her tests were always a struggle and her reviews were not very helpful AT ALL. Personally, I wish I had more time to put towards her class because it is a big work load if you aren't good at accounting or an accounting major. P.S. the extra credit is hard to get because you have to attend EVERY class. If you have her I suggest going to her office hours and getting to know her on a personal level because her story in interesting, but she isn't very helpful with the class material still. Good luck!  - Grade In Class:D

Comments:2302 - Becky Jones is super sweet and a good professor. Homework gets a little long sometimes, but sometimes it is very light. Doing the class prep is super helpful because you basically get to see the material twice and it really helps it solidify in your head. I recommend taking her I have taken her for Financial and Managerial!  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2018-04-08

Comments:Managerial ACC - Her rating should not be as low as it is. I was really nervous going into her class because of her ratings on here, but she is actually a great teacher. She is super sweet and does a really good job of explaining the material. I have no idea why people rate her so low. The homework and class prep packets do take some time, but honestly it's never taken me over an hour or two and they really helps you understand all of the material so when it comes time for the test, you don't have to cram. So it's totally worth it to me. If you get put in Jones's class, don't freak out. She's not bad at all I've actually really enjoyed having her!!  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2018-02-07

Comments:2303 - Mrs. Jones is not a bad teacher she just isn't an easy one like some of the other accounting professors. There is quite a bit a work but it pays off if you actually do it because it makes her test much easier. The class preps help a lot if you do them and she is a pretty easy grader on the free response questions. If you haven't had prior experience with accounting or not planning on doing accounting in the future it may be hard but, you do learn a great deal in the class.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2017-12-07

Comments:2302 - I thought her packets were very helpful. I don't know why she is rated so poorly. She is actually a good teacher who really helps you to understand Financial Accounting. She gives you packets to do beforehand and those are so helpful. Her tests can be somewhat hard but if you study a little bit on your own and go to SI you can do well in the class. There is lots of There is a lot of homework and the grader can be difficult, but all of the homework helps you to understand the material better. She will also drop A TON of your homework grades and all of those add up to give you a test grade which is helpful. The tests followed her notes. I would also do the practice tests that are online. She is a good teacher. I would recommend her. She is also a very nice lady.  - Grade In Class:B+

Date: 2017-11-25

Comments:3301 - Honestly, she is a really good teacher with a hard work ethic. The people I noticed not doing well in the class and trying to give her bad reviews are the same people that didn't do the class prep and didn't ask questions on the homework, just asked me for the answers... Be realistic. I got a 100 on the first test because I paid attention and studied more than a couple of hours. REALLY DO THE HOMEWORK and ALL of the practice tests she gives out and you will get an A in her class.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2017-11-13

Comments:2303- Financial Acc. - STAY AWAY! Dr. Jones has been the worst professor that i've ever encountered at Baylor. The course is almost entirely "self-taught" and her lectures were almost always her getting frustrated with the students for not understanding the material and then rushing through the notes. Honestly if Dr. Jones is your only option for Accounting, put it off a semester or take it over the summer or at a community college. You've been warned  - Grade In Class:C

Date: 2017-11-13

Comments:2304 - I don't understand why everyone avoids her. She is intimidating, but an excellent teacher. She assigns a lot of homework, but that is the only way to learn. I learned more from her than any other teacher. Don't be afraid, she is very nice and helpful.  - Grade In Class:B+

Date: 2017-11-08

Comments:ACC 2303/2304 - So I took Jones for both 2303 and 2304; I didn't really want to but it just worked out that way. These classes are hard, there's no way getting around that, however, they're super doable if you actually put in some effort. There are HW assignments and online reading quizzes due every day which kinda stinks but you just have to do them. They get you ready for the tests and come in clutch at the end of the year if you actually tried on them. Her tests are pretty straight forward, just do her reviews she posts online and go to SI if you have time. Overall, if you handle this like a college-level class, go to class, and do what she asks of you, you will be fine.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2017-05-10

Comments:2303 - THE hardest class I have taken at Baylor, and I was originally a computer science major. I have never struggled to pass a class before, so this was pretty new to me. The exams are made to crap on the futures of students.  - Grade In Class:C

Date: 2017-05-04

Comments:ACC 2303 - She's not a great teacher, You learn a lot yourself. But she explains things decently in class. Tests are not hard at all (Im a lazy student that doesn't like to study and they were still easy). She is a little condescending when you ask a question, but don't be afraid to take her.  - Grade In Class:B+

Date: 2017-04-10

Comments:ACC 2303 - Mrs. Jones teaches in a reverse class format, meaning you learn everything yourself. If you are willing to put in a lot of work, then feel free to take this class. My entire week was dominated with accounting work, she makes you do class preps, online assignments, and written assignments for just one day. If you are willing to work really hard through the semester though, you will get a good understanding of accounting. Would not recommend.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2016-11-17

Comments:ACC 2303 - Jones was nice during the first few weeks, but after getting down to business she was rude. Any time someone asked a question in my class they were stared down and made to feel incompetent. You have several handouts due at the beginning of class as well as online assignments. She curves the tests but everyone does poorly anyway and the average is generally around a 70 with curve. She does not teach, instead she has you read an incomprehensible textbook and then goes over homework. If you dont have the right answer when she calls on you during homework review you are docked points. I ended up dropping on the last day to drop. If at all possible DO NOT TAKE JONES.  - Grade In Class:DROP

Date: 2016-11-16

Comments:ACC 2303 - I want to start this review acknowledging that I am not good at accounting. However, I tried my hardest: did all the homework (class preps, written homework, online homework), spent 3 hours every MWF studying for the class, and went to office hours and SI sessions, yet my grade never improved. What sucked most about taking Jones is you don't feel like you can ask her questions. I wouldn't go to office hours unless I had an entire assignment completed because she doesn't want to help you but wants you to figure it out. That was hard for me since my mind didn't click with accounting concepts. If you have to take her because Thomasson's waitlist is 40 people long, I recommend reading the chapter while you do class preps, redoing the homework until you know you can do it perfectly, and making sure you get 100s on the online quizzes. Good luck for any that take this class!  - Grade In Class:C+

Date: 2016-04-25

Comments:ACC 2304 - If you want at least 2-3 hours of homework EVERY night (3-5 individual assignments each night), then take her!! You will spend all of your time learning the material outside of class on your own, and she will then spend every class period going over what you have already completed. You might as well just sit at home and read the text book. Shes a nice woman, just has a terrible and very demanding teaching method.  - Grade In Class:B

Date: 2016-04-25

Comments:2304 - If you take this class get ready to teach yourself. She gives homework over material you haven't learned and then spends the entire class reviewing the homework problems. Almost never covers any new material in class.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2016-04-18

Comments:Managerial Accounting - Professor Jones is very demeaning if you don't give a correct answer. We are given three different assignments before each class. There are no solid test reviews. She doesn't post grades. The way the class is taught is very bland and does not explicitly cover what will be on the tests. The only positive thing I can say is that the class preps are well organized and simple.  - Grade In Class:B

Date: 2016-02-04

Comments:Financial 2303 - Ok, so I was pretty nervous signing up for Mrs Jones because of all the bad reviews she had on here. I went into the class with 0 knowledge of accounting and came out knowing it like the back of my hand. She is a teacher that will only put forth the amount of effort you personally put forth. Her only downside (not even a downside because it helps you prep for tests) is the daily homework. However it only takes at most 20 mins to complete. Her class preps are far more organized than any other teacher at Baylor and help you study with ease. (My friends even wanted copies of our notes because they helped a lot) I really do hope you consider her as a teacher because you will never regret it. By far my favorite teacher at Baylor. Taking her again this upcoming semester as well! PS- her daily participation grade isn't graded on accuracy so all you have to do is really make up something and if youre wrong she will correct you but you still get 100% (Don't be that guy that has no answer prepared)  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:ACC2304 - Professor Jones is literally the best professor to take! She has really organised class preparations for us to look at and work on it before each classes~ those preparations are very helpful! I alway found a lot of questions that I don't get, so I go to her office hour very often for help. She is very helpful! I almost stay there more than half an hour every time, but she is always patient to answer every of my questions! Take professor jones if you could! you won't regret it! Accounting is the fundamental course for business majors, I believe you would make a good choice between an easy teacher and a responsible professional teacher.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2014-05-29

Comments:2304 - As long as you do the class preps and turn in most of your homework you'll be fine. Most of your grade comes from the tests, but if you study they aren't bad but you do have to have a good understanding of the concepts to do well on the tests. She is not as good one on one but overall is a nice lady.  - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2014-05-11

Comments:2303 - There is a lot of work in this class. The work prepares you and teaches you but you're basically learning out of the book for it. She is very strict and condescending and if you don't know something she makes you feel dumb...Tests are also a little tricky but overall to do better than me, just study a lot. Like a lot.  - Grade In Class:D

Date: 2014-05-10

Comments:2304 - Tests are designed to trick you rather than actually make sure you know the material. Mrs. Jones is rude and condescending one on one. Take someone else or be prepared to teach yourself the entire class.  - Grade In Class:C

Date: 2014-03-06

Comments:2304 - The class is a difficult class to begin with, but she does not make the class any easier. In fact, she makes the class more difficult than it needs to be. Do all of the assignments, go to every class, and do all of the pre class exercises! It is a must or else it can hurt you in the end like it did for me! The one good thing about her that I found, was that she was kind and if you put the effort to go to her, she would try to help you understand the material.  - Grade In Class:C

Comments:Financial Accounting - Ok, first of all. I want to tell yall that don't listen to those rumors about Mrs. Jones being horrible and strict. Well, even it is a little bit true, but that's how a real good professional professor should be like! let me tell you the truth. I am a freshman this year, and as a Chinese girl, this is my first year come to US to study. Everything is new to me, and especially Accounting. I remember at the first day of accounting class, Mrs. Jones asked us to fill out a goal page, list out our weakness, strongness, and the grade we are willing to make in this course. I confidently wirte down: I want to make an A in this class. And during our meetings, Mrs. Jones tells me Accounting is a special language. And for a Chinese student, this is like a third language for me, it's gonna be hard. I told Mrs. Jones and myself that, I will work hard to get this A. And just like her said, accounting is hard. And as a freshmen, a lot of Chinese student said to me:"xxx, how can you choose accounting? you are only a freshman! do you want to die? plus, even you choose it, the best you can make is a B! just give up. " I was very angry inside. how can they mock me? just because I want to achieve better in my life? And also, another chinese girl notice I added accounting class, she also added in, and she got a relative "easy" teacher, with easy tests, homework...blah blah.... I felt this strong peer pressure around me. And also, in the beginning of the accounting class, I had no clue in the class. I made 74 in that class. T.T I was so depressed so I went to Mrs. Jones for help. after I shared my study plans and strategy with her, she told me that there are something wrong with my ways of study. I should learn the material first then listen to her lecture, and always do the online problems first, because we can always learn many useful things from online account lab. Then if I don't get some part, I can always go back to listen to her recorded lectures on BB. I took her advice and started to go to tutor session everyday from 5 pm to 8 pm to get help. I became one of the most famous people in the tutor session. And wake up at 5 am in the morning to read accounting book in the morning everyday. During the weekends, I always review and preview, do the practice problem over and over again. and in the second test, I made 90!!! I got an A! and Mrs. Jones sent me an e-mail to encourage me! And after that, I got so much courage in accounting! and I kept this way until the end the of semester, and also! go ask questions! I always went to Mrs. Jones office for questions! She is really nice and helpful. no matter what kind of stupid questions I asked, she all answered with clear and easy concept for me to understand. And 1 hour in her office= 5 hours' self study. I then made 87 and 85 for the third and fourth tests. Even though those are not bad, but in order to make an A, I need to get above 90 in the finals.....so during the weenend before accounting test, I studied really hard. And during the night before final, I laid on my bed, realize, no matter I make for accounting, I will take it, because for all of the work I have done, all the love I've got, it's all worth it! I thank God for Mrs. Jones! the amount I've grown because of her is priceless.....T.T so, everybody, Accounting is not easy from any point, and it's truly a language, it's a language of business, it's a language of happiness, it's a language of hard work, and a language of love! Mrs. Jones is awesome, she makes me realize hard work will pay back, I become a better person because of her. I love her so much! I believe no matter who you are, as along as you plan to take accounting, you are probably a business major, right? Then I know you, you are a person want to success in life, you wish to make a difference, therefore you choose to study business. however, just as it says, success comes from 99% hard work and 1% talent. I am definitely not a smart girl. other people study for 1 day, I need to study 5 days....but if I, a chinese girl, is willing to put my pride down, wake up at 5 am in the morning, go to tutor session, go ask Mrs. Jones for help, so can you! Because there is really no "easy" teacher, there is only "lazy" teacher. Mrs. Jones is strict for a reason, she wants us to take as much as we can from her class, she wants us to succeed at Baylor, in business, and in life! Take her class, she will help me, and hold your hands to success! Remember, A is for Accounting, and you can make it! If a Chinese freshman can make it, so can you! don't be afraid, enjoy Mrs. Jones's class. I wish to sit in her class once again, but I can't......I wish to see her cute outfit everyday, but I can't..... but I will remember the time spend with her. :) I will cherish her encouragement for me, and create a wonderful life with my own hands in Accounting world! :D Thank you Mrs. Jones~~ I love you! I love how you teach! I love how you encourage me! I love how you told me: you can do it! ^.^~~~~~!!!  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:2304 - I think Mrs. Jones is misunderstood. Yes, she was pretty cold and doesn't have a amiable personality, but she cracked some jokes here and there. DO THE HOMEWORK AND CLASS PREPS. Seriously though. That's the only way I actually learned in class since she went fast and didn't give blatant answers sometimes. If you're good at accounting, go ahead and take her. She does prepare you really well for the final though.  - Grade In Class:B

Comments:2304 - This was the second semester I took Mrs. Jones. For financial I found she was much easier to understand and explained the material much better. Still the exact same course layout as financial. Manageable workload as long as you stay on top of everything. DO THE CLASS PREPS AND THE HOMEWORK because they are what can make/break your grade. She is helpful in her office hours. Make sure you study for exams though because they can be difficult. I will say though that Mrs. Jones is probably the fastest grader at Baylor. Tests are usually graded and posted the same day.  - Grade In Class:B

Comments:2304 - Mrs. Jones is highly misunderstood. I know for a fact that she\'s a very dedicated teacher. She know what she\'s doing. She may seem cold sometimes but I don\'t think she means to be. I really liked her teaching style. It was well-organized and she always followed through with grades ASAP. She is a hard teacher though, but if you want to learn, you should take Jones. I\'ve learned a lot of materials that I know I\'ll use during my career in accounting.  - Grade In Class:B+

Comments:ACC 2303 - Everyone said she was really difficult and told me to switch. I'm not sure why. As long as you DO the work (homework and class preps) which honestly doesn't take that long, you will do just fine. She emailed us all at the beginning of the semester and said something along the lines of "If you will do your part I will do mine" which definitely was the case throughout the semester. Put in the work and you'll do just fine. Class is very straightforward: you do class preps before class, she goes over them with you in class and that is how you get participation points. Homework is a mixed of online/book work and she drops several assignments. Tests can be difficult but just study and it'll be fine. Not nearly as bad as everyone said! I'd recommend Mrs. Jones.  - Grade In Class:B

Comments:2304 - I honestly enjoyed Mrs. Jones' class. before i took it, everyone told me to switch, but honestly, she is one of my favorite professor's i've had in the business school. Yes, there is a LOT of homework, but if you do everything, it makes you prepared for the tests. I do not understand how people do not like her so much. i've thoroughly enjoyed having her. Be sure you do all the class preps before class. your grade will drop significantly if you dont, plus it helps you understand the material better  - Grade In Class:B+

Comments:ACC 2304 - I think she treats this class like she is teaching it to accounting majors only. It is very tough & probably worth it if you want to become a CPA, but that is just not what I want to do. I tried my absolute hardest in this class because I read the reviews before I got in. I was very intense about this class & still managed to make an 80 on a test. Her tests are really tricky. You have to know the material backwards and forwards to make an A. I think she can be a nice lady, though, if you prepare for going to her office hours. She ended up liking me by the end of the semester even though I asked her some stupid questions at the beginning of the semester. Don't expect her to hold your hand through the semester, though. Overall, her class is a little unfair, but, if you truly apply yourself, you can make it through.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:2302 - She's very organized but like with any Financial Accounting Class there is a ton of homework. She's not super available for additional help though, she simply refereed me to the SI who wasn't much help either.  - Grade In Class:B+

Comments:financial acc - honestly i studied my butt off for this class , and the challenge was worth it. she is very organized. VERY! she made a video for us to watch for the snow day!... nothing will upset her schedule so never count on her slacking. also it was very helpful to watch her videos (which a lot of the time stopped working for some reason) but were a good way to study for her tests. doing the problems in the book and in her notes will most def help as well. my best advice is if you are planning on being an accounting major TAKE BECKY JONES! shes hard, but you learn.  - Grade In Class:C+

Date: 2011-08-12

Comments:2303 - I learned from Becky Jones, but to be blunt, learning isn't everything. Getting an A in this course, though possible, is a complete pain in the a$$. Pros: Her outlines are helpful, and she knows what she is talking about. Cons: There are many. Primarily, 14% of your grade is based on clickers made by Satan himself. She curves the grade at the end of the course, but consistently getting wrong clicker answers is demoralizing. HW is only 6% of the grade, and there is plenty of it. Jones's tests are VERY tricky, and if you aren't completely on your game, you'll likely perform poorly. Jones has a somewhat toxic personality in class, and she (unintentionally) makes people feel stupid if they try to ask a question in class. She will bump your grade if you are hovering on the border and you good HW and attendance. You can either survive Jones by the skin of your teeth or take another professor. If I could do it all again, I'd probably choose the latter.  - Grade In Class:B+

Date: 2011-05-14

Comments:2303 - If you can, I would suggest taking someone else. The class is difficult and she doesn't make it any easier on you. Her outlines are really helpful because she works straight through them but her tests are tricky. She also puts less than 20 mc and 1-2 workout problems so if you miss a few mc, your grade automatically drops. I went in for office hours to look at my test and she didn't help a whole lot. If you do end up taking her, do EVERYTHING she assigns. There's homework everyday so that helps the hw grade but it's also time consuming. She uses the clickers for extra credit but you also get a grade for the class preps so it's important to do those before class. Plus, she calls on random people to answer class preps and if you don't have it you don't get a point and she looks at you with that "I'm disappointed" look. So basically...tough class, do the work, try to get on her good side if you can.  - Grade In Class:C+

Comments:Accounting - One of the harder professor but VERY SMART. I suck at accounting though. I like her because even when I was failing, she let me (and a bunch of other students) drop her class. I would recommend her IF you like accounting and are good at it.  - Grade In Class:DROP

Date: 2011-02-24

Comments:2304 - Mrs. Jones is a great teacher. I do not know what I did to earn A "D" in this class. I bet you if you asked me a question about accounting I could answer it. She is really helpful just don't ask a dumb question. I know they say "no question is a dumb question" but just use common sense. I will always remember this song she used to sing, mostly in finical, "Love and marriage Love and marriage. Go together like a horse and carriage!" I forgot what she referred that to but it always made my day. Just make sure you do your homework and DO THE CLASS PREPS!!!!! I do agree her tests are very tricky! She knows how students will mess up.The only material on the tests come from the outlines.  - Grade In Class:D

Comments:2303 - I took Jones for financial and Bryant for managerial. Most people prefer Bryant to Jones. I preferred Jones to Bryant. I can see how some people think she's not helpful, but I think she's trying to get you to think through the process so that it "clicks" instead of just spoon feeding you the answer. Which, for a class like accounting, is probably the better route. Plenty of online and paper homework, but it really helped. I wish she didn't make you buy the book, I only used it a few times during the semester. She mostly just uses her notes. I thought she explained stuff clearly, and she never wasted class time, which I really appreciated. I also thought she was a nice lady. If you want a teacher who will thoroughly teach you what you need to know, I recommend Jones. I made a low A, high C, and mid B's on the four tests in her class, and made a 94 on the departmental final, which goes to show that she is thoroughly preparing you for what you need to know.   - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2010-04-28

Comments:2304 - Jones seems really nice at first, but as the year goes on you start to realize her major flaws as a teacher. If you don't understand what is going on in the class, you might as well make good friends with another teacher who can help you or a friend who is really good at accounting. Granted, accounting is not my hotspot; however, when I don't understand something I do not hesitate to ask questions. Well, with Jones if you don't understand what is going on, she treats you like an idiot and simply says "Well what did I just do?" or "Well what did I say?" and walks away. So if you're confused, don't even bother asking her for help. DO NOT take her especially if you aren't to great at accounting. The online homework is pretty easy, so when it comes to the test you think you have it the bag, but guess again! Her tests are rediculous. Find another teacher who is concerned with her students and their ability to pass because she is not.   - Grade In Class:D

Comments:2303 - take another teacher if you want a decent grade... or if you want your life to be consumed by never ending homework and bad grades and you want to lower your gpa then go ahead and sign up this class!   - Grade In Class:C

Comments:2303 - Ms. Jones isn't the best teacher, but i can't blame her entirely...financial accounting is a hard class overall and requires alot of work...She gives the class an outline over what we are covering in class and we fill it in as we move along in class...if you do take her make sure you do the class preps...because thats a possible 3 points on your final grade...dont ever assume you wont get called upon any particular day....theres a lot of homework and it only accounts for 6 or 7 percent of your grade...make sure you know how to do the long problems in the back...time is definitely an issue for her tests..so make sure you can do that stuff with your eyes closed...you want to have enough time to go over the mulitple choice...i honestly wouldnt mind taking her agian, just because i know what to expect...but to someone who hasnt had her...DONT TAKE HER  - Grade In Class:B

Comments:ACC 2302 - She is a super nice lady. Definitely a bit serious, but overall a great person. The workload is big. Students have to put in a ton of work outside the class. If you want to learn accounting, Jones is your teacher. If don't really care and just want to get a good grade, you will fail.  - Grade In Class:B

Comments:2303 - Even though Mrs. Jones has been through a lot, she is still a very kind hearted woman. Do not listen to everyone when they say she gives "too much homework". I believe that her homeworks are average, it is just people procrastinate too much. The only "hard" part about her tests were the free response questions. For the free response questions, if you just know how to do the material you will do great! The multiple choice questions come from either the notes or the book. I have gone to her office for help, and she is more than happy to help me. Make sure you do the class preps because you can not trust your class mates to do theirs. I know she frowns upon this because I think this waste her time. Mrs. Jones and I would always have great conversations before class. She inspires me to do well in school. I really appreciate everything she has taught me. Also!, do not just get up and leave her class. Before class, let her know that you have some previous function to attend. Last thing, the SI I had did not help at all. She was really useless. I wish Mrs. Jones did the SI session herself. I will always remember her saying "Love and marriage. Love and Marriage. Goes together like a horse and carriage". Overall great teacher!  - Grade In Class:B+

Comments:ACC 2302 - I really would avoid this professor at all costs. She assigns lots of tedious, difficult homework. Her tests are very long and detailed, with some multiple choice and some problems that you work out. She also is not helpful when you ask her questions in class, and is actually somewhat rude on occasion. So, it is hard to ask her things and most people don't do it. I'm pretty smart, went to every class, and did all the homework and I still barely got a B.  - Grade In Class:B

Comments:2302 - Becky Jones is a great accounting teacher. I'm not sure why so many people dont like her. She is by far my favorite teacher I have had so far at Baylor. She really knows what she is talking about and is great at explaining and teaching the class. She sticks to her outlines in class. There is homework after every class and always a class prep that you have to do before the next class. Her tests are really easy if you know what your talking about. They are just like her review and practice problems she gives you. I would definitly recommend taking Becky Jones, especially if you are an accounting major and want a good background before the upper level classes.   - Grade In Class:A

Date: 2009-10-27

Comments:2303 - Becky does not teach anything, her tests are near impossible. She posts a "practice multiple choice" test on BB, and the test is completely unrelated to the practice. DO NOT TAKE BECKY JONES.  - Grade In Class:C

Date: 2009-05-14

Comments:2303 - I absolutely hate Becky Jones, her tests are ridiculous, she provides a set of practice MC problems at the beginning of the semester, and you'll be like alright this is gonna be a breeze acct class...BUT ITS NOT....her tests are nothing like the practice. The SI was absolutely worthless as well. DO NOT TAKE BECKY JONES FOR ANYTHING.   - Grade In Class:C

Date: 2009-04-29

Comments:Financial - I took an accounting class in high school, I went to class everyday, and I was relatively diligent in her class, but it was not enough to pull off a B. Becky Jones is a really nice person, but when it comes to tests she is really tough. Here is a warning before you take her class: If you study hard, and know the basics, then you probably won't make a B on her tests. Also, do all of the homework, prepare for the quizes, do the class preps, and you may be able to save your test average.  - Grade In Class:C

Date: 2008-12-10

Comments:2303 - Her tests are all worth 20% of your total grade (including the final), so if you bomb even one, its nearly impossible to bring your grade back up, but if you stay consistent then you'll be fine. There is also a ton of homework to do, both online and written work, and the only extra credit she gives is 3 possible points based on attendance. On the day before the test, there is always homework due and a quiz. The homework is 6% of your grade and the quizzes are 14% so all the homework assignments you have to do, done end up helping you very much, but they can hurt you if youre borderline. If you're fairly good at picking things up like this, then you'd probably be fine in her class, but if you don't think like an accountant, then I wouldn't recommend her.  - Grade In Class:D

Date: 2008-12-08

Comments:Financial - Ok, so I've been reading people's reviews and a person either loves or hates her. It probably isn't helpful that I'm an accounting major, but sitll. She has a lot of homework. It is evenly distributed between online, book work, and class preps. The online homework just boosts your homework average because you can rework it until you make an A, the book work is easy because you can check it against the same assignment online so you get an A. The class preps aren't hard because as long as you keep track of where she is in the class, then you know when you need to do them for your turn. I guess people are just oblivious to this. Her quizzes are easy, eventhough people complain about them. They are the exact same as homework problems (she even puts what homework she pulled it from on the quiz question), so as long as you do your homework you will be fine. Her tests are hard, but if you do your work and pay attention in class and do the end of chapter mini reviews its not bad at all. I haven't tried the SI's so I don't know if they are helpful. People just don't appreciate a good teacher.   - Grade In Class:B+

Comments:2304 - I took Ms. Jones for ACC 2304. Managerial Accounting was the hardest class I took this semester, but it was the class I learned the most from. Do the class prep; you get extra credit points added to your average at the end of the semester which helps your grade A LOT. To study for the tests, work out the mini-reviews after each chapter. Test questions are very similar to the mini-reviews. I felt very prepared for the departmental final after taking her class. Visit Ms. Jones during her office hours, she will tell you to study more but at least she can see that you're trying.  - Grade In Class:C

Comments:2304 - Mrs. Jones is one of the best professors that I have ever had at Baylor. She comes off as rude sometimes, but she really does care about her students. If you want to learn the material I would suggest taking her. She is super orgganized, and she does give lots of hw assignments, but they really help. The final is departmental, and it was super easy after having her. Do the reviews that she posts on Blackboard before the tests as many question come from there. Do the Class Preps because they really help your grade at the end. Take her if you want to learn something.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:ACC 2304 - I'm going to lay out the facts and let you draw your own conclusion. I have a 3.9 cumulative, and I excel at accounting, its my job, as in what I do at work. I never even knew what we were doing in this class. You will get a packet of notes to kind of fill in, in class throughout the semester. The issue is that the notes are things like 1+1=2. The quizzes and tests are things like 1+.055054^10=sqrt(4.5632). An exaggeration, but a fair one. I might get a B+ or even an A, I'm not sure but I'm being conservative. 4 tests, 20% each (hard), homework 6% (relatively easy), quizzes 14% (unbelievably impossible). I don't actually see the whole "great teacher" thing. I did PV, NPV, FV, etc in Dr Hulme's QBA and made a 94. On her quiz I made a 25. I would not reccomend her under any circumstance. I would delay taking 2304 if she was my only option but thats just me.  - Grade In Class:B

Date: 2008-04-23

Comments:2303 - If you are currently asking yourself "How can i come face to face with the devil and live to tell about it" then take this class. If you enjoy having time to do things besides financial accounting don't take her class. when i told her how much i hated her class she told me i should probably transfer to UT. She will let you check answers to homework assignments before class but HW grades are only 6% of the total grade and there are 60 homework assignments throughout the semester. Study hard for test and quizzes in order to do good. If she tells you a problem is going to be on the test then study it over and over again and you will make a B on the test.  - Grade In Class:B

Comments:2303 - Good accountant, horrible teacher. There are 58 homework assignments that total to be worth 6% of the grade. She says the quizzes are based on homework but don't be fooled, they are hardly similar. Test are equally as hard. Passing the class is a reason to celebrate. She doesn't explain anything so you have to teach yourself everything. goodluck if you decide to take her  - Grade In Class:B

Comments:2303 - She is a horrible teacher! She is very unhelpful. I went into her office hours when i was concerned with my grade, and she actually told me just to drop her class because i would prob. never get it. I was so insulted! That was rediculous, it was the first test...and still i managed to get a B. Also she gives a ton of homework. I studied so much for each test. I never missed a class and still did not get what she was saying. She is a horrible teacher!  - Grade In Class:B

Comments:2302 - Despite being tough, she knows her stuff. She's been teaching Financial & Managerial Accounting for close to 10 years at Baylor. She gives outlines which you fill out during class, with the exception of Class Preps which you complete before hand. These class preps contribute to the 3 additional points to your final average. Quizzes are timed and hard as well. Don't just do the homework, learn it. The quiz questions come directly from homework. Exams are multiple choice & case problems. The great thing about Becky Jones is that she encourages you to stop by and she'll check your homework before you turn it in. I was hesitant to do this at first, but after realizing that you really need to learn the homework before quizzes and exams, I took advantage of it. She'll explain it and its easier to get when you're one-on-one. Don't be scared to take her, unless your looking to breeze through accounting--which will be the end of you next semester.   - Grade In Class:B+

Comments:Financial - I had perfect attendance and perfect homework, and perfect class prep, which is almost impossible. I had a hard time on the tests and I still got a D when I figured these things would at least help me pass, it's not like I was asking for an A or a B here. Just shows that hard work in this class DOES NOT pay off. I would say take another teacher.   - Grade In Class:D

Comments:2303 - I have never been so disgusted by a teacher in my life. By far, this professor has been the most UNHELPFUL, RUDE, INCOMPASSIONATE, and JUST RIDICULOUS teacher I have ever had. I'm currently in her class right now, and I am struggling to maintain my C+. I do ALL of the HW, attend ALL of the S.I. sessions, ask questions in class, and I try to get help during her office hours but she's ETREMELY UNHELPFUL! She's not a good teacher at all, because she NEVER explains anything thoroughly. Some ppl say she's nice, I personally don't think so. I think she's very rude and AGAIN unhelpful and basically useless. SERIOUSLY, do yourself a favor and DO NOT TAKE JONES!!!!!  - Grade In Class:C+

Comments:2303 - DO NOT TAKE BECKY JONES. She thinks hers is the only class you have to study for, and if you are one of those people that don't enjoy doing 3 hours of accounting homework daily, or study for tests like a week in advance, or have a life, her class is not for you. If you ask a question in class she makes you feel stupid, and her quizes are ridiculous. 7 minute, 4 questions and if you dwell on one question for too long, you're screwed. Her tests aren't too bad, but you have to know the material forwards and backwards times 3. She's very nice during her office hours, but in class she's a B.   - Grade In Class:C

Comments:2303 - I wanted to rate her before people started to register for classes for next semester. Do not take her! Her homework is very easy compared to the quizzes or tests. The quizzes are timed (7 minutes and nothing like the homework. Studying for tests is almost next to impossible... if you do get her, be sure to study things other than what she puts in her chapter mini quizzes. She is rude, and you can tell that she hates when people ask questions or don't understand what she is teaching.  - Grade In Class:B

Date: 2006-10-11

Comments:2304 - Even if you bomb the first test, you can still make an A. She gives frequent one question quizzes, the tests are pseudo-MC (accounting problems you have to work out then choose the right answer), but she gives practice tests on Blackboard. She's was always very receptive to students coming in her office and is free just to shoot the breeze if you like. Take her if you want a rigorous accounting course.  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:Acc(Managerial) - I'll be one to say, that this class wasn't very easy; however, i am good with numbers, so i somehow received an A. Mrs. Jones is kind of scary, and I was more afraid to ask her questions during her office hours, than any other teacher i've had. Her class was extremely boring, and she can be nice, but sometimes I think she thinks people should just understand material that they just don't.   - Grade In Class:A

Comments:2304 - This could be the most disrespectful teacher here at Baylor. She shows disgust with her body language and is very negative to talk to. I made a C in her class only because of her tests which are nothing like her reviews. Also, for those of you that think that its only the people that get bad grades that didnt like her, I have numerous friends in the my class that received A's and B's yet still disapproved of her actions. DO NOT TAKE  - Grade In Class:C

Comments:ACC2304 - They've said it all...if you do the homework, class prep and exercises and study what she teaches, you would have no problem with her class...if you don't then you would be one of those people dropping pointless and stupid comments about Ms. Jones is Captainofthedarkworld  - Grade In Class:B

Comments:2304 - Honestly- look at everyone's grades that hate Mrs. Jones....clearly they aren't going to like her if they aren't doing the work. Go to class, do the homework, and test prep. She is extremely helpful if you go to office hours. She isn't someone who will give you an edge if you don't go to class, but if you are trying then she really takes that into consideration. I really enjoyed her. Don't take it if you're looking for an easy A though- you must do the work.  - Grade In Class:B+

Comments:2304 - Ok guys. Yes she makes you feel like a dumb ass when you ask her qustions in her office and that really scared me away. Perfect attendance is rewarded especially if you are within 1 point of the next letter grade. If you miss class good luck getting her to bump it up. Before the final I went and talked to her because I was really struggling and she was actually very nice and really took me by suprise. She is willing to work with you if you are willing to put some effort in too. I can't stress enough how important the test reviews on blackboard are. She gives a sample of questions in her packet at the end of every chapter but if you really want to do well on her exams do the whole test review on blackboard. The 3 times I did them it showed, 1 test I didn't do the review and it took me from a B average to just barely a D. It is possible to pass her class but she is definitely not for those who are looking for an easy 'A'  - Grade In Class:C

Comments:2304 - Shes a very nice person, makes the course interesting. Speaks slowly and ensures that concepts sink in. DO ALL THE CLASS PREP AND HOMEWORK. Its alot of work, but it helps a ton on the test. DO NOT MISS THIS CLASS! She takes learning serious, and expects the same from you.  - Grade In Class:B

Comments:2303 - Ok...so i read all of these and went into the class thinking that it was going to be hell on earth, and it was, but that's my own fault. True, the tests are hard, but seriously. Keep up with the work and GO TO THE SIs!!! JUST GO! I almost failed the first test and started going to the SIs and pulled off an A on the next one. True, the class material is not all that interesting if you aren't going to be an accounting major, but face it, you have to take it. Also, going to class pays a huge part in your final grade. If you are boarderline and have missed more than 2 classes, forget about getting the next highest grade.  - Grade In Class:B

Comments:2303 - Mrs. Jones is a terrible human beign. At first she comes off as some nice ol accountiung lady but then she reveals her true identity as Mrs. CaptainoftheDarkWorld. She truly has an intense enjoyment of watching her sudents down in the engulfing waters of financial accounting. She likes very few people unless they are some kind of accounting guru. It is very clear that she thrives upon making students that do not understand the material feel even more lost, helpless and abandoned. Do your mind, heart and soul a favor and stay away from Becky Jones at all costs. Take heed to my advice and remember our fallen brothers and sisters who are still prisoners to the ungodly realms of the one we do not speak of.  - Grade In Class:D

Comments:2303 - i hate mrs. jones with everything inside of me...her reviews for the tests go over nothing that ends up on the test...she has one opp. to do extra credit (only 3 points added to one test) and her 3 test and final are worth a total of 88% of your final grade which leaves little room for error...whatever you do, do not take mrs. jones   - Grade In Class:D

Comments:ACC2302 - If you're an accounting major or you had accounting in high school, you'll like Becky Jones. She runs through the material and assumes you either understand it or will figure it out. No check figures are given for homework but tests are run of the mill multiple choice accounting. However, if you're not an accounting major or hate it (or are repeating it like myself) she fully lives up to her nickname, "Damn you Becky Jones." Although she's a pleasant enough lady, if you have a question about something, she'll treat you like you have just asked "what is 1+1?" I studied my butt off (again, I'm not an accounting person so your mileage may vary) and I got an 80.1% and I'm damn proud of it. If you have her and don't like accounting, just stick with the homework and use the online tutor -- that helped a lot. She's more than willing to work with you outside of class (hence the 5 star helpfulness) just don't think she'll help at all in class. If you can get someone else, for example Lane Collins (who is the best acc prof), do it. But if you're stuck, you'll just need to work more. Good luck my son, and remember, choose C if you don't know the answer. Also, don't laugh at her clothes, she doesn't like that.  - Grade In Class:B

Comments:ACC 2303 - Terrible, awful awful awful awful class. Not only is she a terrible teacher but her tests cover the hardest parts of the course. Every class has plenty of hw, but the crap she makes you do is pointless. I'd change my major before I took her class  - Grade In Class:C

Comments:ACC 2303 - There's a lot of homework (daily, and sometimes 3 significant accounting problems), but it's necessary. It makes you learn the concepts, just as long as you do it (that's where I dropped the ball). My dad's a CPA and he's probably going to kill me. She works through her study guide in class and doesn't put things on the test that aren't in it. Her tests are rough, but not necessarily unfair. The test format is 30 questions MC She's a tough professor, so try to find someone who grades easier.  - Grade In Class:C

Comments:2303 - THIS WOMAN IS TERRIBLE. NOUGH SAID!!! if you take her, GOD BE WITH YOU!! personally i dont know y anyone would do that to themselves she is just that bad. Comments:Accounting 2303 & 2304 - I had Mrs. Jones for Accounting 2303 & 2304 and I honestly think that she is one of the best teachers at Baylor. She makes you work hard to get a good grade on her tests but you will also learn a great deal. She is very friendly and is always willing to help you out as long as you try to learn. I would recommend Mrs. Jones to anyone just be prepared to study hard.  - Grade In Class:B

Comments:2303 - Don't take Jones if you have a choice! She is very difficult. The homework is simple enough, but the exams are multiple choice and nothing like what has been covered. If you ask a question in class, she makes you look like an idiot, or says something rude as if everyone should know the answer.  - Grade In Class:C

Comments:ACC 2303 & 4 - Her notes are good. You buy a packet at the bookstore and just fill them in with her in class. You can check your h/w (due at beg. of every class period) in her office to be guaranteed 100%. That helped a lot in the final grade. But go prepared if you want to ask questions because she's not there to work the problem for you. The exam reviews on Blackboard help A LOT. 30 MC exams, but with tricky wording and still pretty difficult. I worked my ass off and got a B in 03 and B+ in 04.  - Grade In Class:B

Comments:acc 2303 - mrs jones is a good teacher she doesnt like questions of any kind and when you ask her during class she acts like, what a dumb ass question you should know the answer i should not have to tell you, if you go to her office shes no more help there eather. the test are purposely worded to confuse you but there only 30 questions multiple choice. the lab instuctor sucks and she is just a mean as mrs jones   - Grade In Class:C

Comments:2303 - Mrs. Jones is a very nice person outside of class. I don't think she's the greatest teacher. She makes you feel pretty stupid when you ask her questions. I decided to not care and keep asking so that I would understand. That helped and she didn't mind helping me. Just be nice to her and she'll like you!  - Grade In Class:A

Comments:She is the only ACC 2302 teacher that has this crazy end of year project - which is incredibly time consuming and quite frankly pain in the ass busy work. She's very fond of boys, so girls, if you have a question - go to the tutor - because she wont give you the time of day.

Comments:Mrs. Jones is a hardass, but she's the best teacher I've had at Baylor. If you want to learn the material, take her. She provides notes that you fill in with her in class. She basically tells you, during notetaking, what will be on the test, but her tests are very hard. She provides practice problems for the tests. You must understand the material well to do well on the tests. She has clear expectations. I cannot stress enough how important attendance is to her. I had her for both financial and managerial, and she deducts one point from your final average for each absence in excess of three. Also, when you go in to talk to her, you must be respectful at all times and demonstrate that you have tried to figure out the problem on your own, extensively, but are still unable to figure out the answer. She does not tolerate stupid questions about things you could look up in your notes or in the book. But she is very nice if you approach her correctly, with the attitude: "I've looked this problem up in the book and tried it a thousand different ways, but I still can't figure it out. [Key words:] What am I doing wrong?" Not "You did this wrong." All in all, I would encourage anybody to take her. I learned more in her classes than I have in any other class during my Baylor career, but she is very challenging, so don't take her if you want an easy A. She makes you work your ass off.
